SST- thanks... we're going to my parents 2nd home/ holiday home in the middle of no-where... but we're going to take the DC's out on saturday... there's an enormous park in Ayr, so we're taking them there, then to a nice chinese restaurant not far away and then if the wather is nice maybe a paddle in the sea off the coast of Ayr... should be a nice day.

Bump- DD2 sounds exactly the same as O. She will go into her cot for bedtime at 7pm, i wake her for a dreamfeed at 10ish when i go to bed, she'll sleep no later than 3am (normally about 1.30ish though) then is up every 1-1.5hrs after that until 9am when she sleeps for 2-3hrs... but by that time the other 2 DC's are awake and needing me!!

I'm feeling V.ired today, woke up at 6.55am and couldn't get back off even when DD2 had another hr's sleep and DS & DD1 were still asleep (or at least quiet) till 8.15am!! i'm gutted!!

LBOT- hope all is ok at your end... sending lovely easy labour vibes your way!!

tinkisback · 29/07/2009 10:20

tinkisback · 29/07/2009 10:43

cheers glas

tinkisback · 29/07/2009 12:09

meant to heavy for dds trampoline

feel rough with cold

glaskham · 29/07/2009 12:09

V.quiet on here today.... have i scared everyone off???

Diege · 29/07/2009 12:19

Hello! Literally 2 mins spare as dds friends due round any minute, so that makes 6 Los to look after. Arghh!!!
A few quick responses, hopefully not too much out of context as I've only had a chance to skim.
LB, I think your dp may have a point there re: nighttimes - may be worth giving a try as I've read about it working. Other option may be dummy/bottle of cooled water, though neither of the latter have worked in my experience.
GYO! Re@ going back to work, yes it is tough, esp for the forst few weeks. I went back full time with dds 2& 3, although I could work from home one day a week so kept them off on that day - big naughty, but made up the time at the weekend. With dd3 I dropped hours to 4 days a week, though did freelance one day to make up money. All ok, though really hard getting out of the door/coming back. Dh now does drop offs and pick ups as I need to leave early with my commute.
STAR, re: routine I have to say we only bath ds 3/4 times a week, if that. Many cos I don't think they need it/too knackered/dds too difficult to control. If just dd3 she goes in with him, if weekend, may do baths in shifts, or just give ds a wash on his mat downstairs, with creams/massage etc so he has some sort of end of day routine.
Right, they are here and waiting for lunch while I finish my work
Back later!

glaskham · 29/07/2009 12:23

right i'm off for today i think- hope to get the DC's in their room to watch a dvd and have some 'quiet time' and put DD2 in her cot for her nap... may then get into bed myself!!

Diege · 29/07/2009 12:37

Sounds like a plan GLASK!
Meant to say KAYZ I will leave Whitby hols details/moby no. etc on fb wagoneers so that we can arrange a meet-up!

tinkisback · 29/07/2009 15:44

dilemma ladies :-

was due to go up to hull early fri morning -

if i am still ill do i stay here or go?

dh would take one of the girls up if ill and i would have one here

dd` has a build up of wax with water behind that is bothering her. nurse looked yest before doing her preschool jabs said to use olive oil.
dd1 doesnt like it touching atall goes spare

idreamofbeanie · 29/07/2009 16:12

Hi all, it's quiet on here today. Are the kids on school hols keeping you all busy?

Tink - what will you be doing in Hull, is it going to be very busy or can you take it easy if you still feel ill?

Glask - have a lovely weekend in Scotland.

Sorky - DP is desperate to get a trampoline, in fact he joked that it was a condition for us having a baby. Unfortunately we just have a small backyard rather than a garden so he will have to wait until we move (which won't be anytime soon) poor boy. I've asked for a wii fit to help me get into shape after the birth - I'm hoping it will be easier than trying to fit runs or gym sessions over the winter with a LO. Honest, I'm not just a geek who loves new gadgets .

Hi MinM - good to hear your move went well and you are all settling in.

Sorry, I can't remember anything else. I am shattered today, I haven't slept well at all the last couple of nights. I go to bed feeling exhausted but can't drop off and when I do either I wake up needing to wee or DP starts snoring. I gave in and went to the spare room last night at 2am but woke up again when DP went to work at 5 . It's not bothering the LO though - she has been kicking and wriggling away all day . I'm feeling really well though apart from the tiredness though and looking forward to seeing the midwife and sorting out the last few details for my homebirth. Thanks again Gyo for all the info and encouragement you sent on fb!

Moosy · 29/07/2009 16:22

Hello all

Thank you Surrey ladies for the offer, I didn't win it in the end, it went a bit too high. I have a serious shopping bug at the moment, today I've ordered a moses basket (already!) from Boots and some socks (woohoo!) from Next, also dragged the poor DDs round town in the torrential rain this morning getting a couple of things for SIL for when she pops - should be in the next 1-4 weeks! I've also been trawling ebay for nappy bargains (haven't found any yet) and generally not doing anything useful. It's this bloody weather, it's so depressing, DH is in a grump, the DDs hate being coupled up and I'm annoyed at the heaps of wet washing hanging around. Grrrrr.

LB your DP's plan sounds good, and good that he's willing/trying to help too, I hope it works

I can't wait to get out on our trampoline, I had a little go the other day but felt like I'd turn inside out so I think I'll wait!

Have a nice time in Scotland Glask, and glad you're settling in well MinM, it sounds lovely!

No news from LBOT yet, I assume that means she's too busy......

I was going to post asking for advice on getting DS to have a daytime nap (or 2!) in his cot instead of on me or in his car seat. He's slept for 45mins in his cot this afternon though! I fed him lying down for a bit first and then struggled to leave the room for fear of waking him but he managed it!
Also had him weighed today and he is now 11lb and moved up to the 9th centile!!

Off out tonight to help plan a friend's wedding! She is American and living in Canada with her English boyfriend. They got engaged 2 months ago and are getting married over here in 5 weeks time! They only arrive in the country 4 days before the wedding so we're helping out with the organising.

Hope LBOT is doing OK and all is well for both

Another manic day here, will try and catch up properly tomorrow,

Tink - hope your DD's ear gets easier, best to warm a spoon under the hot tap, then put some oil on (veg or olive) and get her to lie down on the wrong side so you can gently drip a little oil into her ear, it will help soften the wax. You can give her calpol / nurofen etc for the pain too. Poor thing, I had really bad ears when I was a kid so LOTS of sympathy from me!

Bump - DP idea sounds spot on to me, hope it goes well, but if it doesn't work on the first try, don't give up - it will take both DP and DS some time to find a way that works for them. I always used to say that DH has a way of boring the babies to sleep, he talks computers to them very quietly.... [yawns just thinking about it!]

Ses - brave to help out with someone elses wedding, hope its not too stressful for you.

Thanks for comments about weight gain, I had a feeling that was the case but was a little shocked at just how little it actually is. Have been making sure I eat a little more regularly with more fruit and vegetables of late, as I have been a bit rubbish just from rushing around so much.

DS is being a real delight at the moment, I'm so glad I've had this time at home with him - he's being super affectionate all the time, I just hope I'm not setting him up for a fall when the LO arrives.

Doh, I'm waffling and I'm supposed to be tidying in prep for friend about to walk through the door!

Catch up tomorrow, x

GYo · 30/07/2009 08:11

Hi Kay, thats great about Dylan sleeping.. fingers crossed he goes a bit longer tomorrow morning

We had a better night. Dream fed DD at 11pm then she went to 4am then 7am.

Will keep up the DFeeds I think and hope she slowly starts to drop the middle of the night one.

Better go and sort out the bottles for DH

bumpsnowjustplump · 30/07/2009 09:17

DS must have know something was going on last night as he was very very good . He went down at 8 and I went up at 10 to do dream feed but didn't do it in the end i just left him. DD woke the house at 3 screaming so i fed him while dp sorted out dd. He fed for a long time and then I put him back in his cot after. He then woke at six (dp left for work at 4) for another feed and then stopped in bed with me until dd came in at 6.30........ So all in all a great night and dp didn't have to help!!! Lets hope it isnt a one off..........

Kay that is a good night.... I am getting excited about only being woken twice, and you aarn't woken at all.
