Tink how do you handle the routine if you need to be out over lunchtime?

sorky · 27/07/2009 13:49

Show sounds normal LBOT. It's a sign things are shifting in the right direction, could be today, but could also be another 2 weeks away.
Keep us posted....

essenceofSES · 27/07/2009 13:55

No change with DH. It's either a case of mild SF or something else. He won't phone the Dr as he says he's not ill enough. I can understand it actually as he's getting by on paracetamol so no need to start investigating Tamiflu. We're just trying to be really careful about washing hansa and wiping surfaces.

LBOT - V excited for you!!
Won't be long

IDOB - I love Caitlin
Fingers crossed for your DP's interview

Routines - I'm being v anal and keeping a spreadsheet of what DS is doing every 15 mins. Just want to see if there is a pattern as I wouldn't have been able to say. Day 5 atm and nothing definite but helpful to see how different patterns affect whether we have good or bad days. A decent sleep of more than an hour late morning definitely seems to help. Now all I have to do is to transfer that to a sleep in the cot instead of on me or in the car seat!

Shifting baby weight - I'm just a few pounds off my pre-pg weight but I was a bit overweight in the first place. I'm just over 5'6" and now weigh 12st
Not massively trying to lose it at the moment but if it doesn't creep down another 1/2 stone over the next 6-8 weeks, I'll be looking at my diet and exercise. Ultimately I'd like to be around 10st to 10st7.

sorky · 27/07/2009 14:06

I'm a stone over where I like to be. I'm 5'3" and I'm about 8.7 atm, it's not ideal but I have curves I don't normally have so not all bad.

It will start to come off now that she doesn't feed at night if she's the same as the other 3.
Otherwise it's no alcohol, no chocolate and a bit of exercise for me. Tummy is flat though thank god

I found the weight didn't come off as fast with baby no2 as it did with no1.

sorky · 27/07/2009 14:09

Actually if I just didn't eat any takeaway I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be holding any weight

tinkisback · 27/07/2009 16:06

dont go out over lunch. have a dd1 4 years old end of aug
@ the moment not sure what we are doing over hols!!
prob go to 2 groups which are in the morning so get back in time

Moosy · 27/07/2009 17:01

Ses/GYo/Gruff, am I right in thinking you all don't live a million miles away from Woking? There's a P&T dash on ebay ending this evening for half the RRP and it's collection only. If I won it would one of you be able to pick it up for me? Pretty pretty please with choc brownies on top?

Cosmogirl · 27/07/2009 17:40

Quick check in...LBOT - how exicting. I got my show at 11 in morning - by 10 pm that night my waters broke!! Good luck - hope it gets going soon. Whatever happens show is a really good sign that things are getting close.

essenceofSES · 27/07/2009 17:47

Hi Cosmo! How's things?

Moos - I'm sure I'd be able to pick it up for you at some point in next few weeks!

Moosy · 27/07/2009 17:59

Thanks Ses, I doubt I'll get it though, it's already got 14 bids and is bound to go really high!

Show's a good sign LBOT, are you still there??

GYo · 27/07/2009 18:30

HI Moosy, Ses, I am even closer and would be happy to collect for you

bumpsnowjustplump · 27/07/2009 20:30

I am 5 foot 7 and when i found out I was pg with dd i was 8 stone 7..... When I found out I was pg with ds i was 9 stone 9 and I am now 11 stone.... So I have loads to loose yet but wont diet until I stop bf.... Although i have lost over a stone since i met you all in York....

DS did well today finger fed himself (sucked it, swallowed some but also spat some out) brocolli and cauliflower..... He also had two teaspoons of baby rice from a spoon (which he swirled around his mouth then swallowed...) no gagging at all.

Cosmogirl · 27/07/2009 20:38

Am good thanks Ses. Been trying to keep up best I can but not much time to post lately.

Think you mentioned something about baby signing the other day. Am doing a 6 week course on this in Sept - is funded by a children's centre so is free of charge. i've also discovered a prog on cbeebies called something special which is based around signing if you are interested. Already picked up loads of signs from watching a few episodes.

lastboxoftampons · 28/07/2009 00:05

Hi Cosmo!
Moos - I'm still here. We just got back from meeting our NCT group in the pub. Was feeling fine all day, but then started to get crampy later on. They feel quite sharp at times, but nothing consistent and/or timeable.

Kayzr · 28/07/2009 06:30

Morning

Hello Cosmo, lovely to hear from you.

DS2 has slept from 10 and he is still asleep now!! I am so happy, just hope it continues.

Hope you are all ok.

lastboxoftampons · 28/07/2009 06:42

Morning:

Have been contracting every 10-15 minutes since 1am. Absolutely exhausted at this point and wish I could get some sleep - any tips?

Kayzr · 28/07/2009 07:02

It didn't work for me but I know some people that have taken paracetamol and it has worked for them.

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/07/2009 08:16

warm bath, and tens machine if you have one... Helped me sleep.....

Good luck LBOT..

How bad is it to have ds in travel cot until he is sleeping better. I only ask as he is out of his moses basket now but we only have 2 bedrooms so cotbed is in dd's room. I dont want her woken every two hours so was wondering if ds can go in travel cot in our room until he is sleeping for longer at night!!!!!!

What do you think??

sorky · 28/07/2009 08:16

Have a bath and some paracetamol, if it's established labour the contractions won't stop, if it's pre-labour then the nice hot bath will slow things right down or stop it.

Do try and relax, I know it's hard to do because every pain makes you think "this must be it", but this is a common pattern and it could last for a few days yet before things kick off, by which time you really will be exhausted and a medicalised birth becomes much more likely.

All the pains are doing work on your cervix though, he'll be here soon

sorky · 28/07/2009 08:21

Bumps do you have a baby sleeping bag?

X only slept through when we put her in a separate room with Dd1 & she slept in a bag too. Could you wait until Dh is off the next day to help and put ds in there the night before?

Starshinetiger · 28/07/2009 08:26

LBox - how exciting! Hot water bottle and paracetamol got me through my first labour to 5cm by which time I got to hospital and he arrived 3 hours later. Worth a go!

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/07/2009 08:26

Yes we have sleeping bag... So I might try putting him in there on Friday night then!!! Is he ok in travel cot until then? He really can not go in moses anymore I caught him with his legs over the side just about to roll out last night...

sorky · 28/07/2009 08:37

Hello Star

Yes I would go with the travel cot,.
Actually that reminds me, we need to put the cot level down because she's all over the place now and trying to pull herself up to sit on anything nearby.

Got gymnastics this morning.

What's everyone up to do today? Obv LBOT is havin a baby ;)

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/07/2009 08:42

Gymnastics? is that for you or dd1?

We have a picnic in the park with some friends from toddler group... Hope the weather holds out!!

essenceofSES · 28/07/2009 08:53

Yay LBOT!!
V excited for you
Will check back in later.
