Over here ladies - will post the list in a second...

OP posts:

GYo - I'd be really annoyed too. I'd also be feeling a reluctance to get in touch as I'd still be feeling quite upset/angry.
However, if they are really good friends, I think this is one of those times to look at the bigger picture and probably in 6 months you'd rather that you'd bitten your tongue and made the first move. I'd probably give it a day or two though if you can until you've calmed down (I know it would take me 24hrs or so!)

I'm feeling more hopeful about DH as his temperature has come down ok after the paracetamol. Also he doesn't have (much of) a cough. Hopefully it's something else and not SF. He's also not lost his sense of humour. He's just told me (in an I'm feeling sorry for myself voice) that I need to harvest his sperm now if I want another child from him...

GYo · 26/07/2009 19:19

thanks Ses. Glad Im not being totally unreasonable. Will probably email re a new date tomorrow i think.

PMSL about your DH. That's a underhand way of asking for some beside care if I've ever heard it

Hope he continues to improve. Bet he is glad has has a pharmacist for a wife.

GYo · 27/07/2009 00:40

I really am the thread killer today!

Kayzr · 27/07/2009 05:19

Morning.

Ds2 has slept from 11 to 5. He had a little babble to himself and has gone back to sleep. But I'm wide awake now.

Hope you are all ok.

sorky · 27/07/2009 07:59

Sounds like a simple bit of miscommunication GYo doesn't it. Your friend prolly shouldve come clen and said Sunday evening isn't convenient, but p'raps she didn't want to cancel in case you had already gone to any trouble.
I'd email her this morning with a new date and time and see where things go.

Does she always text you straight back? I'm notorious for losing my phone mid-convo or not replying quick enough because I forget

Ses I do hope it's not SF

bumpsnowjustplump · 27/07/2009 08:20

Yet another night with no sleep.... I am so tired I am not functioning this morning....

My breast milk in the freezer is four months old next month. Can I still use it? Guide lines in the packet of bm bags I got is 3 - 6 months but this is german not uk guidelines... Sorky any advice?????

Starting food today. I was going to give him a little rice after lunch feed and then some sticks of veg after dinner feed with us at the table... What do you think????

sorky · 27/07/2009 08:39

Sorry for sleepless night Bumps.
Yes sticks of soft veg sounds good, we gave X some roast potato yesterday (skin off) and she did have little taste, but played with the rest
I forgot how messy it is

Milk should be okay at 4 months, I dont think I keep it longer than that but tbh I dont remember it lasting as long as that before it got used.

We have some baby cereal in but it looks such a bloody gaff to mix it with milk. Might try some ripe banana today and get started cos she's 24 weeks next weeks.

Sorry for ramble on....

bumpsnowjustplump · 27/07/2009 08:54

Thanks sorky I am going to try giving some EBM in a beaker today then. The bag i have got out was frozen on the first of april so is almost 4 months old.

We went to a picnic yesterday and there was a baby a month younger than owen and he slept the whole time we were there... he also sleeps through the night.... What am I doing wrong DS never sleeps!!!!! I am so tired!!!!!!!

essenceofSES · 27/07/2009 09:21

Morning!

Still not totally sure if DH has swine flu. He's still controlling his temperature with paracetamol and is still a bit achey but says he feels a bit better than yesterday. I guess if it is SF, then he's only got it mildly.

Bumps - you know you're not doing anything wrong. Every baby is different and you've done amazingly well coping with everything. Hope the weaning goes smoothly.

Sorky - Wow! 24 weeks!

Gotta go, DS stirring...

sorky · 27/07/2009 09:22

I don't know B, it took 3 days of getting up at 7am and trying to follow GF before she finally starting sleeping more during the day.
I think she was probably overtired when I look back.

GF never worked for the boys though. If it's any consolation babies who dont sleep much are meant to be very bright!

Have you spoken to the HV?

sorky · 27/07/2009 09:25

Apologies for crap grammar I'm on my phone

bumpsnowjustplump · 27/07/2009 09:29

I know they should be there to help us but I am reluctant to invole HV.

lastboxoftampons · 27/07/2009 09:45

Hi everyone - sorry haven't had time for a catch up again, but I think I just had a show this morning Been feeling pretty crampy and horrible the past couple of days...so fingers crossed he's on his way soon-ish!

LBOT, ilovemydogandmrobama was looking for you on another thread. Hope he arrives soon.

idreamofbeanie · 27/07/2009 10:14

How exciting LBOT!!!! I'll be glued to the thread for the next few days .

Bump - sorry the sleeping isn't getting better but it's not you. Hope the weaning goes well today.

Ses - hope it's not SF

Sorky - can't believe X is already 24 weeks and starting to wean. The time just seems to fly by in these early weeks (maybe it's different for the mums). I'm still amazed at the changes whenever I see my niece.

GYo - hope you get things sorted with your friend. It does sound like it may have been a mis-communication and she may have been reluctant to just say that the evening wouldn't work. She is probably worrying she has upset you and doesn't know what to text in case she makes it worse. Would she usually be like this?

Kayz - sorry for early morning .

We had a busy weekend but we have started moving all DPs stuff in and have put all the baby clothes etc in drawers and the place is now looking like somewhere we will live as a family rather than somewhere I'm crashing for a while - hooray! DP has a second interview today so keep your fingers crossed for us please.

tinkisback · 27/07/2009 10:17

hi

ses - hope dh is better soon is he going to take tami flu?!

gyo - meal situation is hard hope it gets sorted out

last box - oh hopefully not long for you then crossing everything

have loads of washing to do still.

idreamofbeanie · 27/07/2009 10:27

BTW we seem to have more or less settled on the name Caitlin Abigail for a girl, what do you think? We couldn't find very many names we both liked although we have a few possibles but recently DP has started talking about what we'll do when Caitlin arrives or asking where to put Caitlin's pram so I think that one will stick (unless the sonographer made a mistake and we have a boy ). It's quite sweet really - I think now he can feel her moving the baby is more real for him IYKWIM.

lastboxoftampons · 27/07/2009 10:38

Whew - big catch up there!

GYO - agree with others - it's no one's fault, just a miscommunication. Any chance of just giving your friend a call and trying to sort it out? I find that texts/emails just perpetuate the situation sometimes. Hope it works out!

Wow, I'm impressed with all of this weaning - time sure does fly! Hope they all catch on well.

Ses - sorry your DH isn't feeling well, but sounds more like "man" flue than swine! all accounts that I've heard seem to suggest that swine flu can be very mild anyway. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Glask - how are your guys doing? Any better?

Tink - glad you had a nice holiday!

IDOB - love Caitlin, very pretty It's my neice's name, actually. DH and I went through a phase of callling the baby by a particular name, but we didn't want it to stick because we're still fairly undecided. But I agree, it's very cute. This weekend we were sorting out bits and pieces in the spare room, which DH kept referring to as 'the baby's room' awwwwww

I actually have a question about my 'show' this morning. It's mostly just pink tinged mucus, but there were two small clots in when I first wiped. Is that bad? Should I call the MW?

IDOB Scary isn't it??!!?

And where is that Kooky, btw? Hope you're well!

GYo · 27/07/2009 11:16

OOh LBOT how exciting , like IDOB I will be glued, sending loads of labour vibes and wiffs of clary sage

IDOB- lovely choice of name, we have a Kaitlin in our NCT group and its so pretty

Thanks everyone for comments about my friend issues, I think IDOB hit nail on the head and that she probably doesnt want to upset me so hasnt replied. I was just annoyed that I was left to sort out their error. Wil email her this morning- thanks for helping me see it differently

Bumps- I struggled to get DD to sleep in the day for ages. In the end we got it working after holiday when i noticed she consistently dropped off at the same time each morning. So I when we got home I tried her in the cot at that time and it worked. She wont just drop off on her playmat like others but needs to be in bed or in her moving pram. We dont do GF but a similar structure of this in the mornings:

Feed 1 - 7am, back to sleep til 8.45 or 9am. Feed 2 - 9.30 to 10amish then back to bed at 10.30/11ish for 1hr or 1.5hrs
Feed 3- 12.30/1pm - then we might go out and she might doze in pram.
Feed 4 3.30pmish then play til 5.30pm bathtime.
The last part of day is hard and now I usually try and get another feed in the morning which has helped her afternoon mood a lot.

HTH
