hi tink- will look out for pics...

my update: DS & DH have swine flu!!

Kayzr · 24/07/2009 20:22

I am never going to be able to drive. I have just been out with mum and we went on the main road and I stalled at the roundabout. I then went to 30mph and I was terrified. I broke down in tears. Not going to give up but I was so scared.

essenceofSES · 24/07/2009 21:15

Aww Kay - good on you for being determined. I remember thinking that driving a car seemed like second nature to most people and completely alien to me but it does come together.

Lunch was good. The Area Manager that I used to work alongside came too and it was good to catch up. I really don't want to go back...
They got me a huge bouquet of purple and cream flowers and a couple of hanging toys, set of vests&sleepsuits and a set to take a hand or foot imprint of DS.

DS slept nicely on the journey there but was a bit unsettled on the way back. We managed though! (Thanks GYo for that link)

tink - looks like you had a fantastic time. I've never been to CP but I really want to go now!

Kayzr · 24/07/2009 21:52

Ds2 is asleep in his cot in his own room!! Fingers crossed he sleeps all night.

Diege · 25/07/2009 09:10

Morning! Hope your night was good KAYZ! And don't worry about the driving - par for the course to be hopelss about it all at some stage! I felt like that every lesson - sure you'll be more 'normal' and have the usual ups and downs!
SES, sounds like your trip with ds went well. Know what you mean about work, but we have a while to go yet. Remember with dds that the thinking about it was worse than the reality (although the reality tough at first - it does get better after the first few weeks though, until you get to the stage when you're pleading with nursery to take them at weekends too
Off to the new nursery's 'graduation' day, to which dd3 and ds have been invited as new starters later in the year. Then I'm escaping at lunch to go to town with ds to pick up dd3's birthday cake for party tomorrow (and do a bit of sneaky sale shopping too). Then a friend's BBQ at 4, though don't really want to stay more than an hour - I hate BBQs!! - all that waiting for an 'orrible salad roll with ketchup (being a veggie!) Moan, moan.. Will get around to birth story this weekend, promise!
Hope everyone is well and has a good weekend

Kayzr · 25/07/2009 09:22

Last night was horrid. DS2 was up at 2am and then I didn't get back to sleep until half 3 and then DS1 got us up at half 5.

GYo · 25/07/2009 10:00

morning

Sorry for bad night Kay

Tink- great pics, looked at all of them!!

Diege, did you put DD1 in nursery full time when you went back to work? how was it really? i know it will be hard emotionally, but also managing getting to work on time and back again for pick ups... curious to hear "your story" if you have a moment!!

long night for us again DD is not letting up on her growth spurt!

tinkisback · 25/07/2009 10:18

oh no glas - get well soon

kay - sorry for driving and bad night.
regarding driving - my mum used to take me out used to argue to much preferred lessond i had loads about 85 and passed 5th time got there in the end

diege - day sounds good

ses - definetly worth it going next year just the 3 of us is exspensive though

hi gyo

having a quiet day today

Kayzr · 25/07/2009 19:54

Ds2 is asleep in his cot!!! Not expecting him to stay asleep but I can hope.

Hope you have all had nice days. We're going to Mums for dinner tomorrow. We're having roast pork from one of the pigs they had. Not sure what it will be like to eat an animal we have fed and stroked etc.

idreamofbeanie · 25/07/2009 20:22

Hey all, is it sad that I am really happy after weighing myself and finding out I have only put on 1st 4lb at 31 weeks . I feel less like a beach ball now.

We've spent today rearranging furniture and putting away all the baby things that were piled in the hallway. It was a boring job but I'm glad it's done and we went out for thai as a reward - mmmmmmm. We have spent the day staring at tiny babygros and playmats and getting really excited (and a bit scared) about the baby arriving. 9 nine weeks to go!

Kay - hope DS is still asleep. I'm sure the pork will be great tomorrow - we had to eat a pig we had fed on DPs aunts farm. It was a bit weird but we got over it.

Tink - the holiday looked fab!

Diege - hope you enjoyed the BBQ and the sales.

Kayzr · 25/07/2009 20:54

Ds2 is still asleep!! So so pleased but expecting him to wake up.

My friend has just found out she is 28 weeks pregnant!! She was complaining of putting on weight but put it down to eating too much. So she went to the gym and it still wouldn't come off so went to gp. She had an emergancy scan today to see how far she was. She is having a little girl and her placenta is at the front so it is hiding movements.

bumpsnowjustplump · 25/07/2009 21:09

tinkisback · 26/07/2009 10:35

dd1 starts school in 8 weeks

i am feeding bracken jars now she has a meat and veg jar for lunch and tea
has about 4 spoons each meal

GYo · 26/07/2009 10:49

Morning

Hi Tink- cant believe your DD is already going to school. That will be a big change

Zoo sounds great LB

WOW Kay, imagine finding out you are 6mths pregnant! hope your friend is ok about it!!

Quiet day here again, which is good as I've had a horrible sore throat and sneezing thing for a week now, its not turned into full cold or anything just feeling ropey.
We were due to have friends for dinner but there was a mix up on times so we are going to reschedule. Probably as well with my cold.

Tried new technique with DD last night, she has been waking twice in the night for a week or so. Last night she woke at 2am for a feed then went back to sleep. She was chatting again at 4am so I decided to get her up, re-wrap her swaddle and put her back to bed in her cot in her room (she is usually in our room) where she shouted for about 10mins then must have gone back to sleep - shows she doesnt need 2 feeds a night. Will keep trying that. Am wondering if its time she went into her own room - weirdly the thought makes me relieved but also quite sad

GYo · 26/07/2009 10:51

Anyone had any experience with pelvic floor exercisers?

I am still feeling pretty ruined after the birth and regular exercises have helped a bit but not much.

sorky · 26/07/2009 11:33

you could get referred to a Physio GYo.

I do Pilates to strengthen my core. Have no probs with pelvic floor, thank god!

Dd2 now sleeps through, it's been a week so I'm tentatively thinking this could be it ....about time too!

GYo · 26/07/2009 11:41

Thanks Sorky, are pilates ok to do then? I was told by my yoga teacher to not do yoga for a few months after birth as everything was still very loose, like in pregnancy.

I think I need to go back to the gp as i've still got abdo separation, buggered pelvic floor and something very suspicious wrong with my bladder and other bits

Well done on DD2 sleeping through!! how long did her unsettled phase last? did you put her in her own room now?

sorky · 26/07/2009 15:05

She only slept through when we put her in her room. You have to wait until your stomach muscles have joined back together before strengthening them.

Generally I wait until 12 weeks before returning to exercise, but it's been longer this time around due to tiredness.
Now that she's sleeping through I'll start running early morning I think.
I'm determined to proudly wear a bikini in Sept for CP hols, plus I have a bodycon dress that needs abs to look good, I just had to wait until she was no longer night feeding to lose the last bit of weight

GYo · 26/07/2009 15:47

Yes- there is no way I could do early morning exercise whilst night feeding just too knackered.

Will make GP appt I think. 18wks down the line and it seems like I might need some help being put back together, definately dont want to leave so long thatim still broken when im trying to get pregnant with number 2

Maybe we should try her own room full time- I was thinking it would be easier to wait til she slept through (for my tiredness levels but she might do better on her own. Will see what DH thinks

Moosy · 26/07/2009 16:00

Hello all, back from brother's house today, we had a lovely time seeing him and his wife, she's due in 2 weeks and is really well, her bump's not much bigger than mine! (pics to come soon on FB). The DDs shared a double bed there which worked ok-ish but DD2 did manage a split lip on both nights!

I have read everything but it's all whooshed out of my silly brain already, sorry!

Just a quick post.
DH reckons he may have swine flu. He definitely has a temperature and also complaining of aching limbs, headache and sore throat. He's in bed and I've given him some paracetamol.
Really hoping it's not and that whatever it is, DS and I steer clear.
Glask - if you're lurking, any advice?

GYo - will do no harm to go and get looked at.

Moos - glad you had a good time.

bumpsnowjustplump · 26/07/2009 18:36

DS woke every two hours last night so I am going to start weaning him tomorrow. Is is over 5 months and keeps trying to pinch food so I think he is ready anyway. Wont do dairy until over 6 months anyway....

Ses how scarey for you has he got a cough?

GYo · 26/07/2009 18:56

hI

Ses- poor DH hope its just a normal bout of flu.

Got a WWYD situation, and Im not brave enough to do an AIBU!

Had an arrangement for really good friends to come to dinner tonight, arranged about 2wks ago. After exchanging texts yesterday to arrange a time (I asked them to tell us good start time to suit their DC) led me to realised it seems there'd been a mix up on times. We'd said evening meal, they seemed to think it was day time. I said we can only do evening after a few texts (mainly from me trying to sort it out whilst DH, who does the cooking was getting annoyed as he likes to prep the day before) I eventually got a reply this morning to say they said they'd come but would be very tired so yawning by 9pm and other things about having to get usual sunday night chores done in advance. I was a bit annoyed and felt the evening wouldnt be much fun so I said in a good natured way, lets cancel and find better time.

I feel really upset that they couldnt just say, "sorry got the time wrong lets reschedule" and that they left it overnight to come back to me with that weird reply.
They never replied to my lets cancel text.

I was planning to email friend tonight to make new date but its been eating me all day and Im not sure I want to - I cant see that any of this was my fault, and I bent over backwards to try and resolve it.

Should I make the effort? this is a really good friend.
