Congratulations JetLi and Moodylou

We were sent back up to the hospital with Noah yesterday as he had lost more than 10% of his birth weight when mw weighed him. She worked it out to a 16% loss, he was 8lb 10oz at birth and 7lb 5oz yesterday . She sat with me while i fed him and then weighed him again and it had gone up so we know he is putting it on. Hospital just checked him over and asked lots of questions and were satisfied that now my milk had come in we should be ok. He is feeding slightly better now. I expressed 3oz yesterday which he polished off at 3am this morning, he then slept til 6.30

He's got a bit of a gunky eye today too so we'll keep an eye on that.

Phoenix · 16/07/2009 09:25

Congratulations Patchybob . We had the same due date, both had elcs, both had boys, only 7mins difference in their birth times and they weighed the same

CONGRATULATIONS Moody Patchybob and JetLi - such a lovely set of names.

Activity thanks for the funny birth story (well how it was told) - you had me laughing out loud. Glad you're both well and home now.

I'm feeling my bump to see if it is transverse or head down - again. Spinning like a top - little swine!

Hi,

Have no internet as moved house but using son's dongle to send this.

Haven't had chance to read all the posts but congratulations to all those who've had their babies;I'll catch up when I'm online again.

I have had my new baby!! He was born on 11th July at 3.36p.m. after an induced labour due to an unstable lie. He was 8lb 12oz and is called James David. I was taken into hospital as he was breech oblique (having been head down for weeks and weeks) then released for the weekend as he went back head down. Then at next visit following Tuesday (7th?) he was lying transverse. So, he lay in hospital in various positions and I was booked in for a c section. Dr hadn't seen an unstable lie for a year of working there and whilst I was there, another lady also had one. On the morning of my c section, James went head down, supposedly 2/5ths engaged, surgeon said no longer warranted a section as he would not pop back out. Gave me gel to dilate my cervix, later came back to break my waters and baby had popped back out to 4/5ths!!! Did a controlled water break anyway and then I endured a long labour as he still was not engaging properly. They didn't know why but after 24 hours took me down to theatre to attempt a forceps delivery, or section. What a rollercoaster. And I was SO knackered!! Like having transition contractions for 12 hours. The forceps worked anyway (as did by this time the epidural) and James was delivered safe and sound. Been very sore but feeling better each day and he's an absolute delight.

Best wishes and safe delivery to all the rest of the July thread

xxxx

Congrats to all the new mummies and babies!!

Have to say am very envious of all - I'm 38+3 today by hosp due date, (39 by my own which I'm clinging onto in hope!!) and feel very big and uncomfortable. Also bump has decided that the best time to wriggle is through the night when mummy is trying to sleep which is not good esp when DC1 gets up at 6am!

Feel very much for those overdue - DC1 was overdue by 4 days and I had fixated so much on his due date that when it came and went I was rather upset This time am trying to think that there are a limited number of days left rather than fixating on date.

Have got midwife app this afternoon so will ask how far they will let me go after date. As much as I don't want to be induced, we are fairly certain that my due date was wrong for DC1 - best friend's mum a midwife and she convinced that he much later than we thought as very dry skin, long nails, etc so I don't really want to go too far past date iykwim. Will see what she has to say!

Sending labour vibes to all esp those overdue !

Patchybob · 16/07/2009 16:03

Phoenix must have been something in the water! big hugs to Max's cyber twin!

ilikeyoursleeves · 16/07/2009 20:51

A big congratulations to the new mummies! How spooky are the similarities between Patchy and Phoenix, do do do do .

Well news from me is that we've just booked tickets to go and see Bruno tomorrow at the cinema! Last time I was at the cinema was to see Sex and the City (ie aaaaages ago) so I'm actually hoping that the baby stays put til at least tomorrow night LOL. Hoping that the laughs from Bruno will send me into labour hee hee!

I saw the midwife today too, all is on track and baby remains 4/5 engaged. So just to sit and wait really!

Mij · 16/07/2009 21:32

krumbock I have a stripping 3 year old too, except when I actually need her to take her clothes off. Oh, and she prefers to be naked when I'm in a sweater and coat, and to wear a vest and long sleeves when it's 28 degrees outside [rolling eyes emoticon].

Congratulations to everyone who's popping, and good luck to those about to pop!

mumofshortie73 · 16/07/2009 21:36

Yay to all the new mummies & welcome to the new bubs ! i've been lurking here and there but not posted anything over the last few days, great to hear all your exciting & lovely news.

I had a bit of a drama yesterday, resulting in several hours spent at the hospital. Had my show start appearing last Friday morning, and has continued pretty much every day since. This has been with some cramps right down low that have been short & irregular so not enough to get excited about.

However a two pence sized clot appeared yesterday so thought better get it checked out at the hossie. They were great & put my mind at rest, nowt to worry about, however when checking the baby's heart rate on the ole ctg, discovered it was a tad on the high side- arggggggggghhh! Kept me in for a couple of hours, registrar did an internal (such a pleasant experience- NOT !) sent me home once it the trace had levelled out, I went back in last night just to let them double check- thank God all normal or else they were looking to break my waters and probably resort to a c section ...phew ! Think they were being especially careful due to the emcs last time and risk of scar rupture.

I really thought that was it, part of me relieved & resigned to the section, best that baby's safe and that I am well but ...Part of me still really wants to see if my body can push this one out naturally.

To anyone else going through similar- aren't these ongoing cramps a total bugger ?! Just start once and for all, godamnit !

I know it's best if the baby comes in its own sweet time (am not even overdue yet, at 38+3) and have to be patient BUT am not wanting a repeat of last time- '3 days-posterior-agonising-back-pain-latent phase-at home-followed by-every-medical intervention-topped off with an emergency-c section.'

No easy answers, girls, I know but just needed to have a whinge about it !

DH is taking DD out in the morning for the shopping so I will have a lie-in & luxuriate in the bath, then we have a 4th b'day party at the village hall- cue 30 little hyped-up kids tearing about for 2 hours, DD will love it though, even if my eardrums don't !

bozette · 16/07/2009 22:03

Hello all, congrats lollipop, scully, activity,Moodylou, patchybob, newb, jetli, ruby and hopefully haven't missed anyone.

Well, Amelia Grace arrived 13th july at 1349, 7lbs15oz, nice smooth elective section. I recovered very quickly last time and was amazed that its actually been even quicker this time. I think its because i knew what to expect. We came home yesterday. Sleep is bad, but she's gorgeous and worth everything. One other thing, after pains, i had vaguely heard they maybe bad after 2nd but ouch ouch ouch!!!!

Good luck to those still waiting xx

hobbgoblin · 16/07/2009 22:06

I'm booking Bruno in for Saturday night too!

I am utterly, dreadfully FED UP. Is end of term so DC are ratty, PTA buddies are murderous and I have just spent evening organising the end of term disco with them and we are bitchy witchy cow bags - me especially.

None of the lovely parents at school are going to see the baby now because everyone will be on hols as of tomorrow and they all so want to.

DS2 is 8 tomorrow so baby isn't allowed to spoil his birthday but possibly will by having me in labour on 'his' day.

Last week was a good week for birth, why does my baby not realise this? Grrrrrrrrrrr!

alibobble · 17/07/2009 08:13

Hi everyone. Rebecca Joy was born at 8.30 on 15th July weighing a wopping 9lb after a speedy 5 1/2hrs! (I weighed 8 1/2 st befoer pregnancy so was a shock!) Managed to get my ironing done during my labour which was rather helpful! Congratulations to everyone who's popped and I'll see you all on the postnatal thread. BF going much better this time than last (with DD1) after one nightmare night.Good luck to everyone left to go xxx

Congratulations Bozette alibobble and Rubyriley - wonderful news. And another great set of names.

Mumofshortie hopefully these are signs that baby will be here soon.

hobgoblin - a G&T sat in the garden and a chill? (well a small one wouldn't hurt). Better it's cooler now to calm those nerves.

I've been for my pre-op and all is on track for the CS on Wednesday - unless baby goes transverse again - in which case I'm going to be whipped in for an early delivery. I think I can wait so am sending head-down vibes to bump.

soozze · 17/07/2009 15:02

Congrats patchy, moodylou, ruby, newb, scully, jetli, alibobble & bozette!!

Looks like the 13th was our busiest day yet

I had a good night last night only feeding at 1, 4 and 8am. Having trouble getting her to sleep long enough to have a shower today though.

Bonzo glad your pre-op went smoothly, you must be feeling relieved about that. Let's hope the wee darling stays put til Wed - sending you nice vertical- positioned vibes for that !

Also thanks for your words of encouragement, I hope you are right & these are all positive signs that my baby is considering making a move.BH's (or whatever they are) a bit sharper this afternoon after walking to the party & back in the rain.

I like the sound of the G & T in the garden (though not today as it is bucketing down) and may crack open one of those organic ciders I have chilling in the fridge- achey here too, esp hips at night in bed, hard to keep shifting from one side to another but feel am doing myself a mischief if I don't.

Soozze I hope you manage to get that shower, I found that regardless of what else I achieved the whole day when DD was first around, I felt a million times better if I had had a blast in the shower, especially as you are up feeding at night several times. If DD didn't sleep then, I got the bouncy chair into the bathroom and sang to her while I was getting clean

Congratulations to all those new babas! Busy mummies. I hope they are all feeding and behaving well. I am feeling slightly abandoned on the antenatal thread now! Not many of us left are there.....Boo. Well hopefully not long now and then we can join in on the postnatal (and probably have no time at all to post I imagine).

Don't worry Belgrano I'm still well and truly here and probably will be for a while yet. We are definitely outnumbered now though aren't we?? Spent yesterday evening having braxton hicks exactly 10 minutes apart but really am not expecting this baby to come any time soon, in fact will probably be August before I pop as have never been on time with any of the others and DS2 was 10 days over.

Have got very mixed feelings about what to do when this little one arrives. Part of me wants to pack the other kids off to the in laws and just enjoy time with DH and getting to know the new one but part of me needs to know I can cope with 4 kids and feels like I won't be able to settle until I know I can do it. Will probably end up having the others around for the first week of DH's paternity leave and then maybe packing them off for the second week. Don't want them to feel like they're being pushed out because the new one is here though and am very aware of just how knackered I'll be. Have been offered lots of help but again, I need to know I can cope before I can accept any of it. I'm sure it'll all work out in the end

I'm still here too! 39 weeks today so might be here for a while yet. I have been getting on and off crampy feelings but they never amount to anything!

We went to see Bruno at the cinema today, OMG tis not for the faint hearted! Very funny though

Hi all sorry not posted all week. Will try to catch up over the weekend. Poppy Grace made her debut on Tuesday 14'th July. 8lb and a real cutie pie. Just home today. Section far better experience for me than birth with ds. Xxxx
