MrsCrunch · 14/07/2009 11:43

hello all, especially the overdue mums! I'm in that club, too. 8 days overdue now. had a sweep yesterday, v. uncomfortable and MW thought all still very much closed up there.... drinking buckets of raspberry leaf tea, have another sweep booked for Thurs and will discuss being induced then.

our little mite seems to like where she is, she is moving but no amount of hot curries, a bit of what got us preggers in the first place or anything else seems to want to make her move...

congratulations to all the new mums, all lovely names!

scully · 14/07/2009 12:14

Hi ladies, just to let you know that our lovely son was born on 11 July at 2.40pm, after a 4hr labour and weighing 7lb 13oz. Big surprise for us to have a boy, already having the 2 dd's He's a little jaundiced and isn't feeding well because of it, having to wake him for feeds and he generally isn't having as much as she should. We came home after 2 nights but I'm in regular contact with the mw there as they are following his milk intake to see if he needs to come back in for a blood test and possible light therapy. We are close to deciding on a name, think it's just the 2nd name now we are working on
I will hopefully catch up on all the news on here tomorrow, congrats to any other new arrivals.

Thank you so much Phoenix for updating the list - you really are a star! Oh my word! Have just done a count up and if you take into acount the c sections at the bottom then we officially have more babies born than waiting to arrive!!! Congratulatons everyone!!!!!

Am so tired all the time at the moment, DD is thankfully being easily bribed with play dough and playing outside so I don't have to do too much to entertain her, then she's in nursery for the next 3 mornings so hopefully will be able to catch up a bit on some rest. Can't believe how many braxton hicks I'm having. I'm sure I never had anywhere near as many with the other kids (but then you are supposed to have more with the more kids you have aren't you?). They're not painful or anything, just there as a regular reminder that this little one will arrive at some point. Will be 39 weeks tomorrow so still officially have a while to wait plus with all the othes being late am not expeting this one on time anyway. Plus could do with it being as far into the school summer holidays as possible so that I have as little time as possible on my own with 4 kids after DH's paternity leave.

alibobble · 14/07/2009 17:51

i everyone. Spent 5 hours in labour the other day but still no bay. Due on Friday. Getting impatient! Congrats to all the new mummies. Midwife says baby is finally engaged and well down at that so hopefully we're all set. that said DH has an exam on wed and a big meeting at work on thurs so suspect I'll get no help in that dept to get things started! can see the summer hols stretching endlessly before me with DD to entertain and not toddlers etc. Think this is only a worry for 2nd timers. At least DD starts nursery in sept so can have chance to get some time just with the newbie. And maybe sleep when they sleep... hahahaha!

moodylou · 14/07/2009 18:30

Congratulations Lollipop and Activity

It's my turn now

I'm going in tomorrow morning to be induced as i'll be 40+14. Getting very nervous and excited now and not sure how i'm going to get to sleep tonight!

I've given DH his instructions on how to post on here so you should get an update in the next couple of days.

Phoenix · 14/07/2009 19:53

Good luck Moodylou. Hope your dh can do a better job of posting than mine did. He did post but on my other post natal thread so it was no good to you lot

BonzoDoodah · 14/07/2009 20:51

Congratulations scully nice quick labour there! Hopefully the jaundice will clear up soon.

phoenix - eek about the finger but a minor thing compared with other possibilities. Hope the kidney tests go okay and you settle in well with the little one.

alibobble how frustrating being nearly there and then it stopping. Have you tried trampolining

ilikeyoursleeves I commented on your baby names

I had final midwife appointment today - baby still not engaged at all so have to watch out for it going transverse. C-S still on schedule then for next wednesday. Sigh.

moody good luck for tomorrow - don't know how you're going to sleep - so exciting!

Newb · 14/07/2009 21:40

Hi All

I haven't posted much on this thread recently, but wanted to update you that Eva Constance was born by c-section on 6th July, 8lb 9oz. She's wonderful

Lots of good wishes to those who have already had their little ones and those yet to pop!

QueenFee · 14/07/2009 22:05

congratulations to all the new mummies
I don't come on for a day or so and it feels like a dozen are born
It's my dd's 5th birthday today - feel a bit emotional tonight I can't believe my baby is such a big girl now!

alibobble · 15/07/2009 03:48

hi everyone. My waters have officially gone: Am sat on a towel to write this as it keeps taking me by surprise! it could be ages yet but a step in the right direction at least!

moodylou · 15/07/2009 03:51

Good morning ladies.

Just to let you all know that the baby has decided to come now rather than waiting to be induced later this morning!

I've been having regular, painful contractions since 12.30 and they're now about 4 mins apart. Fingers crossed he doesn't take to much longer to arrive.

moodylou · 15/07/2009 03:56

Go alibobble

Nice to see someone else up at this time of night. Wonder which one of us will give birth first

Gillyan · 15/07/2009 09:16

alibobble best of luck, seems like your waiting is over!

moody Good luck for your induction, hope it goes well.

scully well done and congrats and to newb

ilikeyoursleeves · 15/07/2009 09:45

Good luck to Moodylou & Ali for impending births! Sounds like you will be meeting your babies very soon, if they aren't here already!

DS has gone to grannies this morning so I am vegging on the sofa in front of TV and MN Might go back to bed too. No action here, we went into town yesterday for dinner and a wander about and I was hoping that the walk might help things along, but nope!

How is everyone else doing today?

Belgrano · 15/07/2009 11:51

Ooh Alibobble and Lou that's exciting! Looking forward to your updates!
I am fine, waiting on a reflexology appt today to hurry things along (am 39+2 now so I reckon I can start the induction things. Rasp leaf tea and very unsexy sex due to my being enormous and unwieldy are also on the agenda....
Off to sit in the sun with a book for an hour or so. Cleaner is here, DD at childcare - HUGE treats so I'm gonna enjoy both, relax, and get my feet up!

krumbockmummy · 15/07/2009 15:32

Wow missed a few days and everyone is having babies so congratulations to lydia, natty, lollipop, phoenix, scully, activity and newb.

38+2 now, feet and hands are still swelling but blood pressure is fine! Going to tidy up then go for a walk with DD if i can get clothes on her. Does any one else have a stripping 3 year old?

My lil sister got engaged yesterday

Hope everyone is doing well, and fingers are crossed for all those who are over due or in labour good luck xx

TwoJobsOneManOneBump · 15/07/2009 18:12

hello again.

39+3. Very Very Bored. I know I'm not overdue but I'm quite impatient. Had regular MW appointment on Monday, all good news as usual (I am completely blessed with perfect health and I count my blessings every day I do I do I do). Baby is presenting cephalic, 4/5 engaged, body on my left, perfect size for dates, great heartbeat range, very wriggly.

Feel very motivated to bring it on because MW booked the 40+12 induction at that visit. I didn't really like the idea of that. So I've been eating curry every day this week and lots of pineapple, going for walks, trying to have as much sex as possible but agree Belgrano it's not going to win any arthouse cinema awards...

good luck everyone. I'm off to the swimming pool.

hobbgoblin · 15/07/2009 18:16

I ache.

My bump aches, my back aches, my bum aches...

Is 'orrible being overdue by nearly a whole week...

BonzoDoodah · 15/07/2009 19:18

Twojobs pmsl at the Arthouse awards!

Hobbgoblin -> deep sympathy. Aching on and off too. Can you have a lie down with bump supported and see if that helps?

krumbock I have a stripping 23 month old . We came in tonight and went into the garden and she said "nappy OFF" then "dress OFF" "Vest OFF" then "wit wooo" and ran round the garden in her sandals! (odd child )

Alibobble and moodylou ...any news???

Evening all! Only had time for a brief scan of the list - congrats to all who have popped.
Hetty Florence arrived 6:45pm Monday 13th July weighing in at 8lb 6oz. BIG head of lucious dark hair. Bit of a drama all around, ending in her being dragged out using forceps in theatre with a view to ECS if it hadn't worked. But it did so we're fine if a little sore in the undercarriage due to bruising and stitches. Back at home as of last night and just about surviving. Will catch up properly later on - due a change/feed/Domino's pizza in the next 20 minutes
Gosh she's beautiful!!!

Gillyan · 15/07/2009 22:17

activity what an amazing birth story, you tell it with such humour too, very funny! well done babes.

jetli well done to you too - enjoy that dominos xx

moodylou · 15/07/2009 23:22

Mr Moody here DH of Moody Lou, - Samuel Isaac was born at 10.57am this weighing in a massive 9lbs 13 oz. Few complications which I'm sure Moody Lou will report but mother and baby are now both doing fine

lydiathetattooedlady · 16/07/2009 08:05
