Belgrano - I third the sudocreme advice - I had exactly the same prob last week but seems to have cleared up now. I have also been using babywipes instead of dry toilet paper and have found that quite good. Another thing I have used is vagisil wipes - obviously not really meant for your 'back' bottom (eek TMI ) but very soothing all the same - you can get them in Boots.

Been to aqua-natal this morning and bounced up and down lots in the hope it would get baby moving - had a few twinges right after but nothing since. Am beginning to resign myself to be overdue. Not helped by phone call from MIL yesterday informing me of dates when it would be convenient for me to give birth as they will be in the area anyway .

On with the waiting ....

ilikeyoursleeves · 09/07/2009 14:55

Woolyjo what a lovely photo of your daughter Niamh. It must be such a difficult time for you all, you are always very much in my thoughts. Best wishes over the next weeks and beyond x

BonzoDoodah · 09/07/2009 15:52

Woollyjo thank you for the picture of beautiful Naimh - she looks so peaceful.

Lydia my sister's DS (now 8) has a tongue-tie. He always struggled to feed - and was constantly exhausted from the effort of sucking as his tongue muscle could not do its job properly. She only found out many years later that it was the tongue tie causing that and really wishes she'd known as she would have had the cut and made life a lot easier for him. Mouths heal fast and baby's mouths will heal faster. So If I were you I'd do some research and seriously consider the op.

Phoenix good luck with the C_S tomorrow!

My sprog has dropped down so low I can feel its head banging my bladder at every step. V uncomfortable!

Lol at Tay's MIL giving suitable dates. Wot a larf!

Beccabump · 09/07/2009 18:24

Hi Ladies, not had a chance to catch up but I have posted my birth story (epic!) on the post-natal thread,

love and baby vibes to all xxx

Phoenix · 09/07/2009 18:27

WoollyJo, such a beatiful picture of Niamh. Thank you for sharing her with us. Thinking of you xx

I've been in for my pre-op today and am all set for c section tomorrow. No food or drink from midnight, back to the hospital for 7.30 in the morning and mw said earlier that at that moment i was the only one on the theatre list so i should be 1st down so hopefully by 10-11am i'll have my little man . I'll make sure i update Facebook and will get dh to post on here.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes, i'm getting more nervous by the second but very excited to meet my little boy too

Patchybob · 09/07/2009 18:59

Phoenix good luck for tomorrow, i think we had the same due date and i'm quite jealous that your section is tomorrow and mine's not til monday.

mickeylou · 09/07/2009 21:56

good luck phoenix - will be thinking of you and Noah tomorrow!!

plot2 · 09/07/2009 22:53

Hello all,

woollyjo what a beautiful picture of Niamh, thank you.

phoenix all the best for tomorrow

to all those still waiting hang in there, know what it's like as dd was 8 days overdue.

Re baby's weight, I think MW's predictions are so inaccurate, I was told with dd she was a 6lber, came out at 7lb 10oz.

Have some great news, Christy had his heart and liver scans and everything completely normal - I am so relieved, all that ante natal worry for nothing. Seems somehow nature compensated for his anomoly in utero perfectly.
Did have very patronising consultant who breezed into scan having clearly not read our notes thinking he was dealing with a heart murmur when I corrected him and told him of the problem he replied that's not possible he wouldn't survive, in a very terse tone I told him it was and he has. Luckily his tone changed when he familiarise himself with my notes. Some docs can be really up themselves!

Congrats to the new mummies, hunny, lydia, missp.

lol re porno pose, exactly how I gave birth to dd, really didn't think of that, but by that stage I didnt give a monkeys how I looked, piles and all!

How are the other c-sectioners recovery going? Gillyan, Christina ?
My scar is a bit sore but have cut back on painkillers so maybe too early for that.
Don;t think a Bluewater shopping trip helped, might have been too ambitious. Have stuck to couch today while dd at childminders.

Must get to bed, little darling had me up every hour last night, hoping for a better night tonight
x

Phoenix · 10/07/2009 02:51

Aaaargh I can't sleep.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes

JetLi · 10/07/2009 06:18

Woollyjo, thank you for the lovely photo of beautiful Niamh. Thinking of you x
Thanks for the link christiana
Good luck to Phoenix - will be thinking of you today.
Congratulations to TheNatty! Plot2 - you must be so relieved - great news!
Well my due date(s) came and went with not the merest inkling of a teeny tiny sign of anything happening. Reflexology today - will ask her to try and get things moving I think. The house is at least respectable now. I didn't get a nesting urge - rather that HRH-SIL invited herself for tea last night so I was forced into smartening the place up a bit .

Phoenix · 10/07/2009 06:53

Oooh i get to update the list once more before i go in

Congratulations Natty

Congrats thenatty I read your birth anouncement, amazing, well done. I used arnica after my 3rd degree tear too. Hope you heal well.

plot2 I am manmaging amzingly after the section, was home in 2 days and was out walking within 3 days. Was regularly taking co-codamol and paracetemol (alternating) for about a week but have been fine since. My wound is actually not healing in one little place but it's not causing me any discomfort. The knot at th end of the internal stitches had been sticking ot for 2 weeks so had to have it snipped off so it popped back downand still waiting for the skin to heal over it...got to go back to see the nurse today and MW did a swab yesterday of it as it's looking a bit angry, may need anti - biotics. Other than that I am much more mobile than I was after the tear I had last time. Amazing experience so far!

phoenix will be there now!!!!

Activity - wow excting! Keep us informed how it all goes.

Congratulations TheNatty - glad all went well!

It's my last day at work today - am shattered as was wide awake for an hour in the middle of the night for no reason at all.

plot2 - so glad all is well with DS. And what an arrogant git the consultant was. Glad you stuck up for yourself - idiot man!

christiana No I wasn't, I had a post natal leaflet in general about pelvic floor etc, it just had a bit of advice about when you can start sit ups etc after a section - 3 months! I've got a blood clot on my stomach ( they've been telling me it was fluid and to just massage it ) but no it's a clot and it's so sore, apparently my body will absorb it in time!??? I've lost 2 stone and the top half of my tum has flattened out loads, almost back to normal, I have a saggy bottom belly anyway but it's really bad cos of this clot and it's not gone down all the way yet anyway, my top half is great, back in normal bras and all my old tops fit it kust getting trousers round my bottom half, never mind!

mickeylou · 10/07/2009 18:08

Hi everyone - i went for my pre - op app this morning and had the most lovely midwife. she explained everything that will go on on tuesday and afterwards. i got the impression that she will be with me in the op theatre so very pleased she also examined me and said baby was on the large side at only 38 weeks. seemed to think if left to her own devices i would be struggling again with another 9 to 10 pounder! so glad i have opted for the c section. only thing i dont fancy is the pain relief in enema form!

apparently i will go in tuesday come home friday all being well. a physio comes to see you on the ward re exercise etc. oh i got some arnica as lots of you seem to think its worth a try.

wonder how phoenix is doing??

scully · 10/07/2009 20:49

It's 5.50am here, thought you ladies would like to know that my waters broke at 5am this morning Still are actually on and off so I think it's everything going, not just some of it. Noticed a little bit of mucus as well on a pad, clear though, nothing bloody. Still just feel crampy, nothing else has kicked in as yet. Will ring the hospital in a bit and see what they say. Am so glad that it happened at a decent hour for us to get the girls organised and for them to spend the day with my dad and stepmother, that's my biggest relief I think
