In honour of Christiana CS tomorrow thought I'd start a new thread as the other one getting unwieldly.
Best of luck Christiana

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Belgrano · 30/06/2009 20:57

Oh MIJ that's an amazing story! Where was your DD1 when the birth was taking place to be there so soon after and meet her little sis at one min old. Was she in the next room? It soudns incredible, well done and you should be proud not embarassed about your amazing achievements in getting two births to plan and generally being a hero (all mums are heroes - welling up Iceland style over here. Birth does this to me!). Let us know when DD2 has a name.

And Beccabump - wow! That's quite something to look forward to for the weekend. Good luck getting everything sorted and the nest feathered.

I am soooooo hot and really feel massive. It's like the jungle here - hot, humid, no sun, and soooo close. My tummy is too big now, it's a bit ridiculous this end bit isn't it? I think it looks totally out of proportion and just silly.

Belgrano · 30/06/2009 20:58

Oops sorry Mij of course she has a name. Caitlin is a lovely name. Sorry I am daft.

bozette · 30/06/2009 21:03

Wow, can't lookaway without more action!

Congrats vanimal and Mij, how lovely and love the name Caitlin.

Becca you sound very chilled about your change in plans, and what a fab excuse to give a big 2 fingers up to the estate agents and get some privacy. Good luck! And Queenfee you're so nearly there too!!

Beccabump · 30/06/2009 21:21

Wow! Congratulations Mij you sound like you had a wonderful birth experience I am really happy for you!

Gillyan · 30/06/2009 22:04

Well done mij I thought afterpains were much worse this time round too.

woollyjo · 30/06/2009 22:15

my news isn't good, I don't want to upset people by going into details and have put a post on the bereavement thread.

Good luck to you all, I hope you never go through what we are going through now.

Just caught up as in middle of moving house, carpets delivered today, plus BT connection, plus plumber to check over the heating. Hiring van to move selves Fri, Sat, Sun and my due date next Wednesday

Typing this with feet in foot spa as never suffered with swollen feet til now.

Big congratulations to all new LO's, Mij yours sounds fab and gives us all faith in our bodies to perform when odds in our favour (ie cord not round neck, no reason for early delivery, eg GD etc) I say this because, those who can't deliver "easy" births mustn't feel that they have failed; sometimes it's just not possible and they will all make wonderful mums. Have friends whose baby 8 weeks old, he had cord round neck and no way was ever going to descend down birth canal on his own, she had an emergency CS, felt terribly disappointed but is making a wonderful mum and sometimes things just work out that you need help.

Becca Good luck to you!!

Bonzo Can't backtrack a page to check, but think you mentioned re baby's head being 9.5cm and we only dilate to 10cm. Thats true of course, but doesn't baby's head squish down and the skull plates overlap to allow delivery, so it's not quite as straightforward as direct measurements? Just a thought. I'm also on top growth graph so am hoping that if baby's head gonna get stuck, they'll let me know in advance!!?

May go offline for a while as Orange broadband takes 2 weeks to transfer to new phone line (bugger!) but will try & access MN somehow, don't think I've disappeared Phoenix!

Good luck to everyone who has their babies over the next few days xxxx

Phoenix · 30/06/2009 22:33

So sorry woolyjo

hobbgoblin · 01/07/2009 00:00

Woollyjo. Love to you on the birth of Niamh but of course so truly sorry for your most dreadful loss.

Deeply sad for you, I hope we can offer you some support here when you need it.

xx

rubyriley · 01/07/2009 05:57

Woollyjo So sorry to you and your family for your terrible loss of your beautiful daughter Niamh xxx

rubyriley · 01/07/2009 06:33

Woolyjo My message last night crossed with yours; I had not read yours when I posted. I hope you realise that it was not linked to your post on the bereavement thread. The loss of Niamh will have upset everyone who read it and we all feel we would like to support you in any way we can. We have gone through the last few months together and all feel that we know each other, so feel part of your pain. Sending you love at this desperate time. xxx

Patchybob · 01/07/2009 07:40

Woolyjo words cannot express how you must be feeling. My heart goes out to you and your family. Sending you prayers and love at this awful time xx

Christiana I am like you - what sad news for Wollyjo and feel a bit sick if I am honest (and scared too). I can't believe it.

Hope everyone is well out there and congrats to the new, safe deliveries out there (whatever the methods).

Phoenix · 01/07/2009 09:28

I know this sounds a bit trivial with the loss of baby Niamh but what do i put on the list? I can't stop thinking about what they must be going through

I think that sounds perfect Christiana.

I was wondering if we all might feel a little insensitive continuing on with our moans and groans about being heavily pregnant but I am guessing that woollyjo would like us to carry on as before - hope I'm not wrong woolly?

So, I feel nauseous, is that a sign of labour imminent do we think?

slushy06 · 01/07/2009 09:48

So sorry wollyjo

christiana i think thats a wonderful idea. i read it this morning having spent another eveing in hospital, i cant believe it, it is so sad its made me cry. i feel lucky yet guilty for feeling that i was given all clear last night. i hope she gets all the love and support she needs through this really difficult time.
i went in with an elephant man leg and lack of movements last night. they aren't too worried about leg i have to keep it raised. when monitored baby was ok but was having regular contractions again. lovely idwife examined me. my cervix was low, head was fixed and gave me a sweep! hoping this gets things started, ive got terrible back ache now!
my thoughts are with everyone especially woollyjo and her family x

God I can't stop crying, I was unsure whether I should read the thread but decided I should since we're all here for each other.
It's so so awful, puts my problems in to perspective to say the least.

activity I agree it would be nice to show our support by donating to a charity.

hobbgobilin I think it is quite common to feel nauseous at the end of pregnancy, u get another surge of hormones at the end, not necessarily a sign of labour but could be.
