Best of luck Christiana

I can't stop crying - poor wollyjo I feel terrible for her. It is everyones worst nightmare and I can't belive it has happened to her.

phoenix what you put about Niamh on the list was really nice, you are so good.

Phoenix · 01/07/2009 10:41

That was christiana's idea Gillyan. I had no idea what to put but i didn't want to not put anything iykwim. It's just so sad

I am so glad to find you all on here. I just don't know what to do with myself.

Hobgoblin I feel sick too, but I think it is the shock of hearing such dreadful news. I know its mad, but I really feel like I know all of you and when my dh found me upstairs in floods of tears this morning he didn't quite know what to say. He knew about Woolyjo though as I had told him yesterday that she was in labour. We have all supported each other for the past 9 months and it feels wrong that we can't reach out to Woolyjo in the same way we would in real life.

Christiana and Phoenix what you decided to write on the list is lovely...it worried me what we where going to say too.

SANDS is a good charity www.uk-sands.org and one that I am sure that Woolyjo and her family will get alot of help from further down the line.

Anyway, big hugs to everyone xx

JetLi · 01/07/2009 11:19

I'm up for the charity thing. SANDS could be another suggestion (they are running an awareness campaign called Why17? at the moment, looking at the website). It's just so terribly, horribly sad and upsetting. I can't bear to think about what woollyjo and family must be going through.
I also think it's very poignant and appropriate to have Niamh & woollyjo at the top of our announcements list. Lovely wording christiana
hobbgoblin - has your BP settled down a bit now love? xx

lastboxoftampons · 01/07/2009 11:19

Just popped in to catch up and saw Woollyjo's terrible news

I'm so so sorry for you and your family, Woollyjo. I couldn't possibly understand what you're going through right now, but hope you can find peace and comfort in your little Mae.

Oh my god, just checked on here and saw the terrible news. Poor poor Woollyjo, I don't know what to say. How terribly terribly sad. My gripes are well in perspective. Thinking of Woollyjo and her family all day long, constantly.

ilikeyoursleeves · 01/07/2009 14:20

I can't believe what I have just read, I feel so desperately sad and upset for Woolyjo and her family. How utterly devastating for them, I just can't imagine what they are going through. My thoughts are very much with you Woolyjo. Lots of love and gentle hugs xxx

Gillyan · 01/07/2009 14:42

hey guys, I am still so sad too about wolly I have thought of her all day and me and Dp have both been in tears. It is just so unfair.

I agree there are loads of good mumsnetters on the bereavement site that probably know what to say a bit better, did anyone read that poem? Gorgeous!

It's the worse thing to happen ever isn't it. I keep looking at tall the baby paraphenalia strewn across my house...how must she be coping with this?

Not had time to read but I'm up for anything charity related for her.

Andie01 · 01/07/2009 15:03

Have just logged on and seen woollyjo news - it's devastating. Sending you all the strength I can and know that my thoughts are with you. Love and hugs x

woollyjo · 01/07/2009 15:14

Hi

Thanks for all the messages, please don't let it hijack the thread, you should all get back to moaning about puffy feet!

We are surviving, it just hits me in waves, I can be talking rationally about what happened one minute and wailing the next.

She was beautiful, we held her for hours knowing we would only have that time with her, it was like she was just sleeping.

Shropshire SANDS provided cameras and a Moses basket so we could take photos. They also provide a keepsake pack which the midwives did for us with hand and foot prints and a lock of hair (she had loads - all the heartburn?). They also fund the grave stone if we go for a hospital arranged burial. We are going to take a look at the section of the cemetery where they are and then decide.

As we are of the hippy leanings we may mark the occasion later but I don't think we will have a funeral or memorial in the conventional sense, it all seems too formal and grown up somehow.

The support from the hospital has been fantastic. I expect my milk will be coming in in the next few days and that will be tough, mastitis is a particular risk in these circumstances.

Thanks again for all your kind words now back to the business in hand .... piles, heartburn ......

Phoenix · 01/07/2009 16:35

Woollyjo you sound so brave and strong. I can't begin to imagine what you and your family are going through. Glad you're getting plenty of help from SANDS and the hospital.

JetLi · 01/07/2009 16:36

Congratulations nicky6 - lovely name.

hobbgoblin · 01/07/2009 16:41

Good to see you woollyjo.

Congratulations nicky6.

Blood pressure fine but was told tosay it is bizarre because for a few secs I have no pulse and then it comes back and then goes again.

Mega mega ketones in urine, turned stick purple. Midwife concerned but not sure what to do given dates so, um, did nothing.

rubyriley · 01/07/2009 17:18

Woollyjo It seems that most of us on this thread have thought about you all day. Your story is truly moving and inspirational, Niamh sounds very beautiful and I'm glad the midwives looked after you so well; it must be very tough on them too. We all expect to go home with our babies, and what you have suffered is our very worst fear. Sending love to you and your family.

Phoenix Thank you for looking after the thread and giving Niamh her rightful place at the top of the list with such thoughtful wording.

Congratulations to Nicky6 on the birth of Noah, sounds easy peasy and well done to you!!

Good luck to all those due over the next few days xxxx

mumofshortie73 · 01/07/2009 18:08

Thinking of you Woollyjo

Thanks to Christiana, Phoenix & everyone else who's had lovely ideas, I would like to be included in a donation to Shropshire SANDS, it sounds like they have given you the support you are needing. I hope those around you are doing all they can at this very difficult time.

nicky6 many congrats !

hobbgoblin · 01/07/2009 18:50

If the hospital burial area is not chosen then perhaps donations could go towards the headstone?

Gillyan · 01/07/2009 19:47

congrats nicy6 thats great news xx

Quiltedrose · 01/07/2009 20:36

Came on to congratulate the new mummies but am stunned by Woolyjo's tragic news Have posted on the bereavement thread in the hope that it then doesn't seem too crass to congratulate a few people in the same post.

So big hugs, jugs and congratulations to Gillyan what a good weight Summer was after all your troubles! LGOR congrats to you too on the birth of your twins - and to London2 Rattling and Vanimal on your babies! Didn't get much of a chance to chat but hopefully will talk on the PN thread. Mij and Nicky6 congrats to you too, Mij what a great birth experience!

I bet we'll have births daily from now on - had better check back more often!

Thinking of you and your family Woolyjo, I don't think any of the July girls will ever forget your experience and how brave you've been.

bozette · 01/07/2009 21:24

Congrats Nicky6, can't believe how quick your hospital arrival to delivery time was!!

Christiana you are one sensitive soul, great thoughts about the list and charity donation. woolyjo sounds so strong and its just so heartbreaking. It puts everything into perspective. I let DS charm me into sitting with him when he went to sleep tonight, holding his hand. I am so glad she has Mae.

And the heat goes on...
