Congratulations LGOR, sounds like a fantastic birth. Lovely names and good weights too

Mij · 26/06/2009 20:42

Oh wow, LGOR, huge congratulations and it sounds like you had such a great birth! Well done all of you!

Waters we came to the conclusion it wasn't waters, thought maybe just a very watery show or urine, even though I didn't feel it, but now it's happened again, and tightenings/contractions/whatever the hell they are, are officially coming at around every 10 mins for the last 2 hours I'm starting to have my doubts. Could have been hindwaters (I've started a thread about it in childbirth - no replies yet) and as babe is so low could be blocking any further leaks except when I lie down, which would explain why very little fluid and only when I get up from lying.

But MW did make me promise I'd call triage if it happened again. I haven't as I'm timing possible contractions and would rather let things progress if this really is it, as I'm still less than 24hrs from the first, very small fluid loss and I really, really don't want to be thwarted on having a home birth unless there's a bloody good reason!

LGOR - congratulations! what fab names!!!

behaviour - my three year old has also turned into a little damien this week. anyone else had trouble with dcs running off? he keeps legging it away from me when we're out and about - like today in zoo and the other day in tesco. i cant make him see how dangerous its is. have taken away his favourite ben10 toys tonight in attempt to give him a consequence for his behaviour . seriously considering reigns!!

soooo tired tonight after day with nursery in zoo and dealing with little runaway!

gillyan thanks for details on section. made me even more confident that i'm doing the right thing with mine.

bozette · 26/06/2009 21:07

Congrats LGOR, thats impressive sizes as well, especially if you consider their combined weight. I'm feeling full enough, big respect!!

Gillyan wow, fab experience, really glad its all worked out so well for you.

We should be having bets on who's going tobe next...

QueenFee · 26/06/2009 21:56

Gosh it's been busy on here since last night!
LGOR congrats they look gorgeous (I am still wondering which one is which
rattling Congratulations to you too. Hope everything hasn't been too stressfull with the early arrival of you babies.

hindwaters yes yes yes - that's exactly what happened to me when my hind waters went with both of my dc's. I had a leak with each contraction. Apparently they continue to replace themselves to not such a big deal as if your forewaters go. I had never heard of this before I had DD.

3 year olds my DS has been having a lot of tantrums and playing up a lot too. I'm hoping it settles once bubs is born. My theory is that he feels a bit unsure of things as overhears all these conversations etc.

gillyan thanks for the whole birth story. It was lovely to read. (BTW I would have said do it now too )

dannyg i'm sure gillyans story will inspire you.

My moms on holiday in Scotland at the mo so approx 8/9 hours drive away should I need her she will be back by tue though and I have my neighbour on standby just in case!
hunny sounds like you are much better off without him x
sooze Hope everything goes ok with your cousin

I have been losing bits of my plug last night and all today so hoping that means that my sweep started something off yesterday

xxhunnyxx · 26/06/2009 22:13

LGOR Wow congrats! 3 hours???!!! That's fab! Can't wait to see pics. Gosh so many babies now

dannyg that is fast, don't panic too much about it being so close, I'm sure if you think about what actually NEEDS to be done it's prob very little. I'm a little bit tho, I was kinda hoping to get the same response from my scan but no my little guy had to be awkward and be head down so his mummy has to push him out! lol. Good luck and enjoy x

mij it sounds like you could be next! I wouldn't worry about the loss of waters too much, when i went to hospital with it last week they didn't really sound very concerned about whether it was waters/show/discharge etc. Contractions are sounding promising tho, keep us posted x

I've now got some Jasmine and Clary Sage aromarethy oils to help strengthen contractions and apparently they can help start labour too so I'm gonna go to bed now and sniff those for a bit. I'll let you know if it works!

Gillyan · 26/06/2009 22:21

LGOR congratulations! G&A with twins you trooper! Lovely names.

dannyg don't panic it will be fine - ooh 3 days to go!

rubyriley · 26/06/2009 22:54

LGOR Congratulations!! Great weights and truly inspiring for the rest of us who only have 1 to deliver G & A here I come!! Please put their photos on MN for us Facebook virgins

Gillyan Have you managed to put Summer's photo on MN, keep hearing how beautiful she is and would love to see her!!

Plugs coming away and waters leaking everywhere, I'm feeling quite yuk at the thought and having BH as type this.........

Good luck to all those who are about to pop! xx

Mij · 27/06/2009 08:17

queeenfee thanks for post. Still not convinced its waters at all, but doing what the poster says - Keeping calm and carrying on! Going to work today to get as much done as possible, still don't know whether to ask my Mum to come up or not.

Very slight show this morning, no more leakage, tightenings (have you noticed how I'm in denial by not using the word contractions? ) eased off over night so it took me a while to drop off but got a normal (ie only woke up twice) night's sleep, which was a bonus. Tightenings starting up again (having one now in fact) but won't be timing them unless they get significantly stronger [even bigger denial emoticon].

So - who wants to shorten the odd on who's next?!

Misspaella · 27/06/2009 08:53

OMG
Congrats Gillyan and LGOR! Both your birth stories are amazing.

And there is more to come next week!

Mij how are you doing with your leakage? I am really weary of any trickles as I had that with my 1st birth. I went in to be checked and it was deemed as NOT being my waters leaking. Low and behold when I went into labour a few days later the MW's realised it was my waters leaking and I had an infection and it was passed to DS. We spent days in hospital post birth with IV antibiotics. Just be careful if more comes.

Hunny must echo everyone's thoughts - your ex is an a*&E!!! You seem very strong about it. Good for you!!!

ARGH, another hot day.....hotter and muggier than yesterday. Hope this baby comes soon. Next week is supposed to be even hotter (in London anyway)

mumofshortie73 · 27/06/2009 11:16

LGOR many congratulations to you on the arrival of your wee ones, that is fabulous news !

Knackered today as braved the Royal Highland Show up in Edinburgh, a load of walking around, busy crowds and eventually moany DD, she did really well considering she'd been up since 6am and was not on top form, end-of-term over excitement & too many sweeties methinks Was lovely to see the ponies & cows.

I am also in the 'mummies of 3 year olds who insist on playing up on the imminent arrival of younger sibling' club ... she is definitely extra whiney & demanding, the clever wee scone knows something is shifting. trying hard to be patient but is hard when am such a shattered & lumbering mess.

krumbockmummy · 27/06/2009 13:03

LGOR congratulations on your new arrivals, love the names

The cousin is fine and doing well, gave her lots of positive comments and we will be meeting up at least once a week. Baby is doing well but she is a pain to feed. Nikki is feeding her every 3 hrs now as she sleeps from 11pm till 6am onwards every night???

DD is away for 2 nights Missing her but enjoying the time with hubby.

BH have gone now but still losing bits of show been doing it for over a week.

And have finally found a outfit for cousins wedding on the 25th 2 days before due date looks good with the bump, will hide flabby bits if baby comes before hand and i can Breastfeed in it.

BonzoDoodah · 27/06/2009 17:03

Wow Congratulations Gillyan and LGOR! LGOR amazing just gas and air and a natural birht - and such good weights - super!

Gillyan - lovely birth story.

Hunny your Ex is such a NOB! Hope you realise you are right to rely on your family and friends and to leave him completely out of it. Must be So demoralising for you - be strong.

BonzoDoodah · 27/06/2009 17:08

xxhunnyxx · 27/06/2009 17:44

This aromatherapy aint workin .

I'm going to a surprise birthday party tonight, it's the first time I've had a night out in months so I'm quite looking forward to it...I'd rather be going to watch Take That with my friends but don't think I could quite handle all that standing around all day.
Think I might have a bit of a boogie tonight and see if I can shake baby out! lol

Patchybob · 27/06/2009 18:38

Wow, so many babies. Congratulations London 11 and LGOR, great news.

Good luck DannyG, how exciting. Not long now.

Blimey its hot! Been in the paddling pool all day with dc. DS had a horrible accident trying to be helpful and put the umbrella up. It fell down on his hand and trapped it. He has a nasty cut, quite deep really. Have bandaged it up and will keep an eye on it. he went into shock which was strange to see, I haven't ever seen him do it, but was ok after a while and lots of very sweet juice and cuddles. Bless him.

Wicked mother, I took them to macdonalds for tea and they are now watching a dvd while I drink a vanilla milkshake and potter about on mumsnet!

Have a good evening everyone xx

london11 · 27/06/2009 19:31

Hi all,

We came home today - yipee! Boys both feeding well and sleeping contentedly (for now!) I'm glad to be home and looking forward to sleeping in my own bed.

Section went well, I'm sore but managing to get around.

Pictures on profile!

mickeylou · 27/06/2009 19:55

aw london - such gorgeous boys. many congratulations. your DS looks delighted with his baby brothers!! x

slushy06 · 27/06/2009 20:29

london they look lovely makes me want my baby and lovely names too.

Beccabump · 27/06/2009 20:36

Wow! You ladies have certainly been busy since I last posted!!

Congratulations to all the new mummies - I hope you are all comfortable and getting lots of support! Blimey at the twins weights - how were you walking at the end??

I have had another busy day, it was my last 5 hours of breastfeeding supporter training - exhausted now!

We went and looked at the two houses the other day and have decided which one we want to move in to. They were both ok, but one just was a lot easier to work with our current furniture and kitchen equipment. We find out on Tuesday whether it's all been approved by DH's work.

Have been trying to get 3 quotes for removals men but where we live there are only 2 local firms!

Have been getting lots of phone calls from people needing to come and do stuff with the property and I am getting a bit pee'd off with it to be honest. We had the estate agent ring this morning asking if they could do a viewing next week at 5 in the evening!
I put my foot down and said as long as we are living here they will have to do weekday daytime or Saturday viewings. 5pm is DD's dinner and winding down time - I don't want people being paraded around the house in front of her!
She won't know we are moving hopefully until the week we go as I want her to be comfortable with the new baby before breaking that news to her!

I can't believe that they are moving so fast with things and it is making me suspicious that people are asking for viewings before the HIPP pack and photos of the house have even been done.

To be honest it also really annoys me that (of course) the estate agents expect everything to be presentable for the viewings so I am going to be running around at 38 weeks+ making sure everything is clean and tidy with a 2 1/2 year old wanting to ransack the place! I really thought that as we are only here another 9 weeks they would have waited for us to move out before doing the viewings

Sorry for the moan again - it just really helps to get it written down and get other peoples views on this. I keep wondering if I am being unreasonable but I feel that if it were the other way round I wouldn't put this kind of pressure on an expectant mum!

Lots of lovely painful Braxton's going on this week - mainly in the evening - having to breathe through them so it's good practice! Feel incredibly heavy 'down below' and can actually feel baby's shoulders right down by my pelvic bone!

woollyjo · 27/06/2009 21:19

Congratulations for all the new arrivals,

But can I please ask the rest of you to get back in line!

I'm due tomorrow and am having lots of uncomfortable BHs it feels like she is mining her way out (with tools)and I'm feeling quite battered but they are not round the back period pains like I had with DD1 so pretty sure they are not the real thing.

PLEASE PLEASE LET ME BE NEXT! I have been feeling the size of a house for weeks now!

I've tried all the tricks even went for a long walk today in the mugginess. I know I shouldn't be this desperate already. Got a sweep booked for the 6th and really hoping baby comes before then.
