rainbowdays so sorry to hear your news. I had mc last year and had to await hcg results by phone, not nice. I hope you have lots of family and friends around you.

crumpette and starshaker hope things get better for you both soon. xx

Biccy · 12/06/2009 22:05

Well, I think DP and I win the softest parents in the world competition today...

I had to go to a crisis meeting at work this afternoon, leaving dd with dp. She was not impressed. When I got home they weren't here... DP called, and she had been so unhappy he'd agreed to bring her down to the office to find me, only she fell asleep on the way and I was now home, etc, so he came home.

She wakes up at home, and was inconsolable because she hadn't been to the office - didn't seem to matter that mummy was home now, which had been the point of the trip.

After 15 or 20 minutes of trying to console her, we ended up offering to take her to my office... which she jumped at. So off we all trot, after hours, to my empty office, where she rides on the sack trucks, draws on the flipchart, expresses surprise that there's no-one there and then decides we must go to a cafe for dinner.

And off we go, obediently, to pizza hut, where I eat a whole anchovy & olive pizza.

It was actually a very fun family evening, but we're both a bit shocked that we pandered to her so much! Is this a pregnancy thing?

starshaker · 12/06/2009 23:04

well i think my rent problems (housing benefit messing me around for 3 months) has not helped. but today it got sorted which is fab. now i dont need to fine £110 a week out of benefits to pay it (left me with nothing). getting it backdated so after 12 week scan gonna go on a mad shopping spree lol

alibobins · 13/06/2009 14:16

Finally got a scan date 25th June
I'll be 12+6 by my dates so we'll see what they say.

timmette · 13/06/2009 19:23

alibobins that's my scan date too and I'll be 12 4 days - let's hope we both get great news.

alibobins · 13/06/2009 19:59

ohhhhhhhhhhh its so exciting mines at 10 in the morning so not too much hanging around.

skidoodle · 13/06/2009 20:18

Awwww Biccy what a lovely evening. I am very indulgent of my dd too, and I think you may be onto something that pregnancy is making it worse.

So sorry rainbowdays that was so thoughtful of you to update the list. I really hope you are doing ok.

londonlottie your dh does sound fab. Being pregnant is not at all like getting fat (well not once you get to the business end and have a proper bump). Your shape does change but in this amazing and very becoming way. You will of course look fab in stylish maternity clothes and I reiterate my advice - if you're getting large get into that stuff early. You will look better in clothes designed for your changing shape and if you're going to spend on IO clothes you might as well get as much wear out of them as possible.

Hi everyone else. I told another pregnant friend yesterday but still feel in denial. Hope you are having good and restful weekends.

Oh and crumpette words fail me. If I read about your workplace in a book I'd think they were overdoing the city law firm = bastards thing a bit.

skidoodle · 13/06/2009 20:22

My scan is on the 3rd July, which is my birthday (34, I actually had to count that).

I have a dentist's appointment in the morning. What a weird birthday that will be.

kittykat765 · 13/06/2009 20:54

Hi everyone.

**
Really sorry to hear your sad news rainbowdays. Thank you for updating the list. I wasn't sure what to do with it as I didn't want to kick anybody off as it would feel very wrong in my opinion. As far as I am concerned you and all other january 2010 mums who have mc are very welcome to stay on the list as long as you like.
* **

I have not long returned from my holiday to find we have moved home on here. Lots of baby chatting going on here.

I have my scan on tuesday which is so close now I am getting really excited. I keep feeling really paranoid though that I am going to get there and find out that there is something wrong like no heartbeat. I feel awful for thinking it but it doesn't help that I had a dream last week where exactly that happened.

totalmisfit · 13/06/2009 21:12

me too, alibobins, my scan's scheduled for either the 13th or 14th July (can't remember exactly - pregancy brain kicking in again).

I can't believe i'm 8 weeks tomorrow - I feel like i'm heading out of the danger zone but only very, very slowly. I can't imagine how women only 30 years ago used to get through their whole pregnancies without a single scan! Even waiting till 12 weeks seems excessively long to me, even though i'm a second timer.

Started actually throwing up yesterday and this morning, whereas before i'd just been nauseous. if it gets much worse i'm going to be pretty useless to dd, just lying on the sofa all day moaning

Congrats to all those who have already seen their beans (waving or otherwise)

Rainbowdays so sorry for you, do hope you're ok.

skidoodle · 13/06/2009 21:22

totalmisfit oh poor you, how rubbish

kittykat yes, I have that fear too. I guess we'll just have to wait it out.

gizzy1973 · 13/06/2009 21:27

got my first scan 22nd june - so will be 11 + 6 if my calculations are right

tried to get early scan due to mc at 5 weeks but that was the earliest they gave me

oh well less than 2 weeks away now

had to give in today and buy maternity jeans - am 10 + 4 and my jeans have got unbearable this week
this is my first so was hoping to get further but think maybe as i was overweight before that hasnt helped although somehow i have lost 2 pounds this week

Liskey · 13/06/2009 21:55

Hi

Got my scan date through the post as well - 8 July - I'll be 12+4 then as exactly 9 weeks today. I'm worrying too about no hb on the scan - as I had an early scan last year after bleeding and then a mmc diagnosed as no hb . It feels like ages to go until the scan (and I really wish I'd managed not to tell anyone in RL which 've failed again at).

Sorry Crumpette - that is totally appalling of your work - I hadn't realised.

starshaker · 13/06/2009 22:04

can i just say crumpette i had resisted the temptation of chip shop chips, i had resisted hot buttery crumpettes until you changed you name. i now had a breadbin full and dd asked for 1. my reply? no honey there yukky you wouldnt like them. i have waited for her to go to bed so i can scoff in peace

Biccy · 13/06/2009 22:19

Ooh, lots of exciting scan dates. I know how you all feel though, worrying that it will be bad news. The waiting is agony.

I sang in a choir in a concert tonight, and ended up having to borrow a blouse, because my boobs have already grown too much for mine... and I had to undo the top of my zip... I'm sure I managed to wear it like that when I was four months pregnant last time, so I am now convinced I am getting bigger very very early. (Although I am proud to say I have been wearing this skirt to sing in since I was 14 - that's 20 years!)

starshaker · 13/06/2009 23:33

biccy thats just not fair

coffeeicecream · 14/06/2009 07:47

Rainbowdays, what dreadful news for you hope you are bearing up.

I am giving dh a lie in and off with ds to go and buy some croissants for breakfast mmmmmmmmmmmmmm hope you all have good day in sun. had a 3 hr sleep yesterday afternoon and felt much less anxious etc afterwards.

dal21 · 14/06/2009 08:02

Morning all!!

Is a gorgeous and sunny morning here! How exciting that everyones scan dates are coming through. Mine is also on Jul 13th, so four weeks tomorrow. The last week has gone by pretty quickly so I know it'll be here before we know it.

Had a lush day yesterday! Met a girlfriend for lunch yesterday in Dulwich village. 5 hours later, we left to head our separate ways. Bliss! 5 hour girlie lunches were a staple pre DS. Was such a treat. And to top it off, arrived home and all the ironing had been done by DH. What a great day

Enjoy the fab weather today all.

No scan date yet, got 1st bloods tomorrow. 10+6 wks atm. Is this normal, or is my midwife/hospital being slack?

VivClicquot · 14/06/2009 12:04

Hi ladies

Well I'm back from Spain and had a lovely lovely time - we told my family while we were there and they were over the moon; mum didn't even complain about the forthcoming wedding dress fiasco!

Still not feeling remotely pregnant - boobs are still swollen but the soreness has gone, and the only other symptom is occasional diarrhoea. Which is nice. Oh and my eczema has really flared up and I don't quite know what to do, seeing as I can't use my normal steroid cream.

Hopefully will get in for another private scan this week so fingers crossed...

Big yay for all of you who have had successful scans. And rainbowdays, I was so sorry to hear your news.

Liskey · 14/06/2009 15:17

Hi

somewhathorrified I'd give them a chase up as my midwife said the scan date should come through about a week after being booked in (well here in Yorkshire anyway).

VivClicquot I know how you feel apart from sore boobs and some diarrhoea and constipation (really good having both) I don't feel very pregnant. I'm worried this lack of symptons will mean bad news but trying not to stress too much about it.

VivClicquot · 14/06/2009 16:22

It is worrying, isn't it? I know I shouldn't complain, particularly when so many other women suffer terribly with MS etc, but the lack of symptoms means I feel like I'm just playing at being pregnant (ie. I'm doing all the right things in eating and drinking etc etc) but it just doesn't feel real at all.

Thats exactly how I feel Viv - its not real. I'm avoiding foods and trying to eat more fruit and veg to help with the "symtons" I do have but I don't feel pregnant.

I feel very pessimtic about the scan - told DH I'm half expecting another mmc - he's not making any plans either after last time. But at lest I've got to 9 weeks now without any bleeding so thats a slight positive.

sleepingalot · 14/06/2009 17:02

Exciting news for all scan dates
somewhathorrified hope you can get yours sorted.

kittykat I keep having prenancy/baby related dreams, some horrid and some just ridiculous! Had one dream last night that was most bizzare... I'd had baby and decided to breast feed but only 1 boob would work! I've kind of accepted that all these weird dreams are all part of the rollercoaster of pregnancy.
