Hello all! Thought I would start this off as our existing thread is full!

I have got out a whole lot of "fat clothes" from when I had dd. What to wear when it's so hot and half your clothes don't fit, ordinary ones too small, maternity ones too big? I am 11+3 today and definitely bigger this time around! Had first person guess I was pg today due to seabands. Her ds1 and my dd are same age and at pre-school. Was quite nice to have sympathy for ms in RL too!

I ordered pilates dvd from amazon - they might have some in stock still. Does wearing fitflops around the house when dd had chickenpox count as exercise? Have started walking her to pre-school again so will at least have some exercise. Do some yoga dvd occasionally as have felt v. sick/tired and you should slob around listen to your body.

quirkychick · 01/07/2009 11:00

oops that was supposed to be you should slob around listen to your body, obviously.

bethoo · 01/07/2009 11:09

somewhathorrified i am shocked that you have not had your letter in for yor scan yet though it may be busy as i am 13 weeks now and my scan is next week. if i were you i would contact mw and mention it.

lilacpink · 01/07/2009 14:29

Hi All

Sorry for those with bad news, and congrats for good news.

I'm surprised how many of us have been ill. I'm getting over a V&D illness too. Infact I'm 3 pounds lighter thanks to it, and now weigh less than when I was first preg. My bump has nearly disapered thanks to being completely empty. I'm sick of being sick. Yuk!

I agree that at certain times people ask questions that maybe they shouldn't do, i.e. you'd say if you wanted to, questions such as...
Are you trying for a baby? Are you pregnant? Are you breast-feeding? Do you want it/was it planned?

Then when you have it, strangers walk right up and hover over making strange sounds until it cries!

I probably sound v. unfriendly here, but I just think all people, including pregnant women and babies should have personal space from people, particularly strangers.

On a positive, I have a scan next Mon, can't wait

lilacpink · 01/07/2009 14:35

Just forgot, I had posted about belly bands before and found one like my friend used:
www.bloomingmarvellous.co.uk/product.aspx?CategoryID=maternitylingerie&ProductID=12337&language=en-G B. I think there are thicker more elastic ones that my be stronger too.

blondiep14 · 01/07/2009 15:32

bethoo · 01/07/2009 17:29

Thanks for all the welcomes!
And welcome to Blondie!
Well, i am already in the obese category to start with so a little late to think fit now! I do a lot of walking everyday and want to start swimming again - dislocated my shoulder earlier in the year.
To be honest my weight held me back from trying to get pregnant for a while and now that i am i am trying not to let it worry me the whole time.
Fingers crossed for all of you still waiting for scans. At mine the little one kept facing away making it hard for the sonographer, she even tried getting me to jump up and down, touch my toes and drink lots!

papagena · 01/07/2009 20:35

Hello everyone
First timer to mumsnet, I am a little nervous to join the thread..
Due on January 17th - so I am currently 11 weeks, will be 12 this Sunday. I have my scan on Monday but have had two early ones already. This baby will be my 3rd, but just as excited as with my 1s!

crumpette · 01/07/2009 22:20

welcome papagena & blondie!!

Well, still no exercise here, think it's 13 weeks now, utterly huge, look 5 months, cannot find anything to wear to work in this weather, suits shirts and tights are not nice and somewhat tight!!

Re work, I got my payslip today and my salary has been magically reduced since my return a month ago from extended maternity leave despite the fact I am in the same role with the same continuous contract of employment for over 3 years, also on emergency tax code, but yeah my annual salary is 2k less than it was.

I am not amused!!!

In the circumstances (dd etc for those who read it, won't repeat now!) I think they are being pretty horrid sniff sniff

DP thinks I should announce pregnancy and make salary a maternity/pregnancy discrimination issue. Quite frankly all I want to do is sleep and eat crumpets!

End of rant

How is everyone?

crumpette · 01/07/2009 22:29

PS just read a bit! zen that is one groovy D.O.B!

Oddly this bump is supposedly due exactly on my birthday.....spooky....

Fuchzia · 01/07/2009 22:46

Thanks for the info about bellyband Lilacpink. Looks like a useful thing to have - might wait a while before letting my DH see one though...

Morning everyone! Well...I was adamant that with my 3rd pregnancy I would eat healthily and continue exercising (was running 4 times a week pre-preg). But of course...the thing you forget is how terrible you feel in the first 3 months and by the time you're out of that zone, you feel too out of practice and heavy to re-start. I am starting to eat a little healthier now than the early weeks, but I am hungrier for sure - apparently we only need another 200 calories a day . Londonlottie - Pretty Pregnant is great isn't it, I covet their clothes even when not pregnant - but expensive, so you really have got great bargains!
Can anyone explain Zen's long list of mummies- I don't understand?

bethoo · 02/07/2009 10:01

crumpet i am absolutly disgusted wiht the way they are treating you. i think you could probably take them to a tribunal already! anyway if i were you i would get straight on it and enquire as to why you are not getting paid the same as you were before since you have not had notification explaining why so i am sure what they have done is wrong. i feel that maybe you should be more assertive, you are a strong woman esp after all you have been through so i think you should maybe start letting people know how you feel and you will not tolerate peoples behaviour! says me who gets comments from my pervy boss daily!

bethoo · 02/07/2009 10:02

papagena it is a list of the date baby is expected followed by mums name and in brackets if there are children already or if this is your first. hth

Crumpette - what does your contract say your base is? Any letters confirming a pay rise in the past would also count. Before full scale going postal on them, check it's not a mistake in payroll, this happened when I got married and when they re-imputted my details with new name; the fuckwit temp doing it managed to knock best part of a grand off...

I've now officially told them at work! Everyone's been lovely, and my boss couldn't be nicer - I mentioned I was trying to get in earlier to miss the tube when it's a complete oven and she's told me I must go home early as she's worried I'll get overtired, and I'm to tell her if I feel ill or in need of a sleep. (Bless)

Re being public property: just got asked by one of the woman here 'how' I got pg as she's been trying for months (er, had sex - would have thought that was obvious). Feels odd that people basically think they can ask about your sex life...

bethoo I know I should probably contact MW about lack of scan, but I figure I have to see her in the next week or so for blood results so I'll mention it then.
