quirkychick · 24/06/2009 21:28

starshaker I'm so sorry, I hope the hospital can give you a diagnosis.

sazlocks · 24/06/2009 21:29

so sorry to hear your news starshaker

For you first timers I hope my birth story has not freaked you out too much. It actually was a very positive experience even though it was the opposite to what I wanted. I think its way too early to start worrying about what might happen but I think when you have had a child already you naturally think about your last experience and what you may or may not want to change about it. I agree with whoever said that the bottom line is healthy mum, healthy baby and how you get there is fairly immaterial in my opinion.

lilacpink · 24/06/2009 21:49

starshaker why not try councelling? If it doesn't help you could stop going, but it may help the healing process.

Re. birth - it does end. Whatever way it starts, however it goes, it always ends! I read a book from my local library, something like '500 birth stories', they all differed, but they all ended.

sleepingalot · 25/06/2009 02:32

So sorry to hear your sad news startshaker I really hope you're okay.

sleepingalot · 25/06/2009 02:38

alibobins, timmette & &crumpette* wishing you all the very best of luck today for your scans.

Well... woke up at 1.30am so hungry that I had to get out of bed and make myself a bowl of pasta! Tried to turn over and ignore but 20 mins later gave in. Am now wide awake with the prospect of having to get ready for work in not much more than 3 hours!

mowmi · 25/06/2009 07:02

Starshaker - I'm so sorry to hear your news... it will take some time but you will eventually come out the other side. take care of yourself x

singalongamumum · 25/06/2009 07:26

I agree that we all have plenty more time to worry about the birth- let's just worry about ourselves for a bit!

I have some good news to share- had my scan yesterday and my LO was bouncing around like a good 'un. SO pleased after so much bleeding etc to see s/he so clearly unaffected. Hope those with scans today get equally good news.

dal21 · 25/06/2009 08:00

Singalongmum - congrats! Am very happy for you and your bean. How are you feeling?

How did the other scans yesterday go? Think there are also some today?

I just want to say, (and I hope this comes across with the right sentiment), my heart goes out to everyone who are going through difficult times.
However, I am also over the moon for those who are going to the 12 week scans and getting good news. And I hope that getting excited over the good news on the thread does not come across as insensitive.

to all.

star im so sorry to hear your news i hope they can get you some tests done to see whats going on and i wish i could say something to make you feel better. My thoughts are with you.

Please guys can someone give me some reassurance! Im having a silly moment i know!!

Yesterday woke boobs didnt feel sore and i didn't feel sick so i carried on with the day thinking yayy make the most of it! In the evening at work had some waves of sickness and some crampy type pains nothing major so i am assuming it just strecthing going on. I had a scan last Thursday and saw bubbs who was doing great measured 17.5mm i am today 9+4/5 days and am having another scan tommorrow because they offering free pics and parking to woman under 11 weeks pregnant!

Anyway this morning boobs weren't sore either,my right boob is slightly sore i suppose? they were in the middle of the night. Im not bleeding or cramping or anything but is it normal for symptoms to fluctuate at this stage?? Also i have tonnes of wind and am not constipated........ Sorry for TMI!

Tell me this is all normal please!!

sleepingalot · 25/06/2009 09:00

iateallthecreameggsyummy I've had much the same as you. Have had very little nausea, boobs stopped hurting about 3 weeks ago (but becoming a little sensitive again now)and no other symptoms. Have had a scan at 9 wks and all fine. Am now 11 and waiting impatiently for the magic 12! Saw midwife on Fri and talked about lack of symptoms and she said every prenancy different, symptoms can come n go. Had constipation early on but now too have wind that just has to come out! Had an embarrasing moment with that the other day! .

So think you're very normal!
So

VivClicquot · 25/06/2009 09:50

starshaker like everyone else, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I'm sure counselling would help, so please do consider it.

bethoo · 25/06/2009 10:04

iateallthecremeeggsyummy my boobs have not been sore yet! they are still soft and saggy too
my nausea went last weke at 11 weeks and boy was i releived but as soon as i hit the 12 week mark it is back worse than ever. yesterday i was dry retching in the work loos. talk about trying ot be discreet whwn you have not told anyone!!

iateallthecreameggsyummy · 25/06/2009 10:09

bethoo have you still not told anyone??? Wow your good everyone that knows me and dh knows we are expecting! But thats since last weeks scan!

As for boobs well i am having burny sensation in my right boob so i shall be positive! Cant wait till tommorrow to see bubba again. I think its just with prev misc i didnt get this far and im my mind i almost assume something bad will happen! I am trying to get attached to bubbs but think it will happen properly when im 12 weeks and can relax.

Thanks for yours and sleepings comments!

bethoo · 25/06/2009 10:21

iate i have more or less been telling everyone bar work as i jsut got back from maternity leave and feel terrrible about it! they will prob think i either cant keep my legs closed or am purposely getting pregnant so i dont work! i am one of two females working in a more or less male environment and many here are chauvenistic gits!

somewhathorrified · 25/06/2009 10:29

starshaker sorry to hear your news. Please don't do anything rash, give yourself time to heal.

Biccy with re to the VB/CS debate. Although we're told that CS are only done in specific circumstances it really does depend on where you live. Haverfordwest used to actively encourage CS for everyone. And at the end of the day there are always ways with the medical prof to get around their 'preferences'.

I too hit the 12wk mark and started to get nauseous, I had no MS before this point. It's nothing drastic, but if I get hungry I feel ill, shame means I have to eat more often!

singalongamumum · 25/06/2009 12:45

dal21- thanks! It was such a lovely moment. I am starting to emerge from the 12 weeks of exhaustion, but occasionally still get forced to lie down on the sofa for a while! Just delighted that it doesn't have to be a secret anymore.

Also want to say my thoughts and best wishes are with everyone having a traumatic time at the moment. x

But I'm hoping for more good news from today's scannees....

alibobins · 25/06/2009 13:31

Hi ladies I had my scan this morning and everything fine measured at 12+5 so due 2nd Jan
Beanie looked massive and even waved.
Got detailed scan on 20th Aug can't wait I will definatly be finding out.

Good luck scan buddies.

bethoo · 25/06/2009 13:36

excellent news so jealous!
how big did it measure?
at this rate i wont be having my scan til i am 13 weeks i f i am lucky!

Biccy · 25/06/2009 13:50

Great news alibobins!

I am like you bethoo, waiting for a date.... but only 9+2 so should be patient.

Lovely linen maternity skirt arrived this morning and I feel so much better - really do look less preggers in pregnant clothes than my normal ones (as long as nobody notices the enormous stretcy jersey panel!).

alibobins · 25/06/2009 16:14

Baby measured 6.4 cm looks really big on pictures lol

sleepingalot · 25/06/2009 16:35

Congrats alibobins...you'll be able to catch up on your sleep tonight.

Hope other scans today went well.
