I hope I've done this right - here is the new thread...and hopefully the last in ante-natal

june RX is the abbreviation for prescription. It has something to do with the latin word for it. So I would assume RX For Success would be Prescription for Success?

Morning all,

Had my 40 week midwife appointment yesterday, as the hospital reckon my due date is 4 June (I say 6 June for various reasons) but it doesn't really mean much when you get to this stage does it!

Tonnes of activity yesterday, lots and lots of pressure, endless BH and a good strong contraction about 10.30pm and then baby breakdancing till 1.30am. It was the late night 'breakdancing' that upset me. Never have I felt such activity. It frightened me as it seemed 'frantic' and I almost rang the hospital as it seemed very odd and I was getting distressed (non stop - all limbs going - sometimes all at once - very very strong).

I have felt movement this morning and on a normal basis but still a little 'spooked' by it all.

Will pop back in later. Hope you are all well.

AngeChica · 05/06/2009 09:52

good luck MrsMc, don't forget to pop over to Jan 08 and let us know your news...

dreamydowler · 05/06/2009 10:03

morning girlies Letting you all know that Im still hanging on although have had lots of my mucus plug come away and still getting cramps here and there. Both my sisters are doing the shopping for food this morning for my dds 18th party tomorrow Im going to get some tidying up done in between resting as much as possible and recheck my hospital bags Congratulations Doris on the birth of emily rose We are hoping to have an Evie rose according to our scan and will be mad panic if its a boy as our pram and car seat moses basket changing mat etc are all pink lol

LittleSarah · 05/06/2009 10:37

Ermin - Yes the due date thing is so vague, the problem for me is the uncertainty. Dd was early but that means nothing for this one! I would very much like this one to be on time, ie this weekend, because I just hate the not knowing! Plus this weekend would be nice and convenient, if we get past the middle of next week I know I'll be climbing the walls. Got dd full-time so will be entertaining her and tapping my foot impatiently... however I know it could easily happen!

Dreamy - Hope your dd's 18th is fab tomorrow! Very exciting!

Daisy - I'm not surprised you got worried after all that activity, argh, you just want labour to start properly don't you? Hope all is calmer today.

Just had the midwife round. Not very exciting. This time baby is 4/5 engaged and she suggested I lean forward as much as possible as baby is very side on IYKWIM. Basically want to get baby's back nearer the front for labour and this will help baby's head settle into pelvis... will see what I can do. Also had a bit of sugar and protein in urine (always seem to have something) so she took some blood. Not worried at all about that, I think there has been one appointment where I haven't had a trace of something or other.

Now off to see Coraline!

LittleSarah · 05/06/2009 10:39

Also ermin, I think most babies would be totally fine left alone for longer. (I just wish I wasn't such a planner feeling I need a definite end!) In one of the birth stories I read one lady's baby came naturally 3.5 weeks after she was due!

loooouise · 05/06/2009 11:35

Grrrr...this is frustrating....Daisy I had almost exactly the same night as you last night. Baby absolutely FRANTIC during Question Time, I felt more movement in two hours than I'd ever experienced in such a short time during my whole pregnancy. Finally settled down about 1.30 and I got some sleep, then was woken up at 5am with fairly strong BHs that were accompanied with period pain in waves. Got v excited, but stayed put then went downstairs for a cup of tea with mum at 7am...at which point they promptly disappeared and haven't been back since.
I'm 38 + 5 today, but it's a little disheartening to think this could go on for 3 more bloody weeks. COME OUT BABY!!

lauraloo09 · 05/06/2009 11:47

morning juners

well nothing to report here, up during night with twinges and cramps but nothing major must be frustrating for you daisy and loouise thinking it's going to start and it doesn't.

Going to go for a walk, wish i had money to go baby shopping but think I have bought everything i can out of mothercare lol

Roseability · 05/06/2009 11:54

Hi! 39 + 1 today. Woke up at 5.30 am with strong period type pains again but have amounted to nothing. Think I might be losing some mucus plug though. Argh hate the waiting! Hope someone goes today

Tee2072 · 05/06/2009 11:58

Hi all

Well nursing bra shopping was a complete bust. First of all, I take my shirt off, cow at M&S says 'that's not a proper bra you are wearing.' I say 'well, one of your coworkers sold it to me about 6 months ago.' She shakes her head, measures away, 'well, you might be a 44 b or c. But I don't think we have that size. I'll show you where they are.' So we go over there and yup, nothing in 44 b or c. So she says 'well, you can try a 42.' And walks away. So I left. And just did an order online.

daisy5 · 05/06/2009 12:05

loooouise - Clearly Angelo Jude felt strongly about the European elections. Mine kicked off during Californication so I wonder if mine has a prediliction for the wild LA lifestyle. It is mentally exhausting at times though isn't it. Mine have been going on for almost three weeks now so I officially fed up!

I forgot to say that I was sad to hear the details about both the people you know who went missing in the air accident. Gun and drug crime in South America seems incredibly disturbing at times with life so very cheap in some regions. What a great sadness that two people brave enough to stand up and make a difference, have gone.

June2009 · 05/06/2009 12:56

tee aaah I see, yes, makes sense thanks, I did see rx was something to do with prescriptions on the net but didn't work it out in context.

I was not impressed with Mothercare either when they measured me.
Are you getting measured for now or after birth? She said I'm a 44 C (I was very disappointed about that) and they had 1 really lame bra there that fitted me.
I went to another shop to get fitted for a nursing bra for after birth and she estimated a 40 FF or G and I bought one (bravissimo) from there, looking at hotmilk site now for a couple more. (but not entirely sure whether to buy them yet or not.)

Due dates:
In France they give you a due date a few days more than the UK dates (for me: 7th June UK, 11th June France) so technically they go "overdue" less.
(From what I understand it's something to do with UK calculating from the first day of your last period and the french sites allowing for something like 3 more days.)

The 10th is my dad's bday and bro's name's day so hopefully won't be the same day. The fact that my grandparents and us may have conceived on the same day is a weird thought :S

Feeling tired, nauseous and crampy today, I feel like going to lie down again.

Hopefully more babies coming this weekend!

Tee2072 · 05/06/2009 12:58

june I went ahead and ordered both 44 and 42 C. If they don't fit, the website says they will take them back. Lord knows I am not going to feel like going shopping after my CS!!

June2009 · 05/06/2009 12:59

By the way it's full moon on sunday.

loooouise · 05/06/2009 13:15

Rose, our pains were at the same time! spooky... Maybe if we all concentrate, we can synch our labours together, just as women who live together menstruate in synch

Then again, that would probably create an orgy of childbirth. Ew. I clearly have too much time on my hands. Am off to watch The Wire.

Daisy, agree entirely about Latin Am. I heard the most appalling stories from Colombia recently, which are best not repeated at this point in our pregnancies. I feel a bit guilty for being able to switch off from work so easily, really wonder if will be able to sustain a job with so many commitments and bringing up a child on my own. But I guess we'll all have some balancing to do in that dept!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 05/06/2009 13:24

Hi all

Just been browsing mn and found a link to a really good blog on bf (don't know who is and isn't planning to) but it may be useful to bookmark.

PS dreamy I'm still waiting Emily Rose is ineed's LO although Rose is our prefered middle name for a girl (although I'm getting abit unsure now it might be like Sarah Louise in the 70's) I so thought I would be different

June2009 · 05/06/2009 16:38

it's quiet in here today, people must be busy either:
a) having babies
or
b) trying their best not to think about having babies so that babies come...

Tee2072 · 05/06/2009 16:49

june I was doing c) Sleeping for 3 hours because I won't be able to do that when baby comes.

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 05/06/2009 17:04

mine was b) but i think i've failed now

llynnnn · 05/06/2009 17:08

hi all

Still no baby here and still no sign!! although i am shatered today and havent really done a great deal, just more pottering!!

I'm also very of all those losing their plugs!! everytime i go to the loo i think maybe this time, but always a NO!

Ineed - thank you for the details on your birth, pleased it went well (apart from the scar rupture) and that Emily Rose is doing well

Ermintrude - I dont like your details about due dates as I feel like thats exactly how my baby is thinking and she is perfectly happy to stay in there another 3 weeks or so!! it looks like i'm a perfect example of how thats true though. My monthly cycles have always been irregular and i can only tell my due date from my dating scan!

Littlesarah - i also keep getting lots of movement and can see what i assume are elbows, hands and feet popping out of my stomach! quite unnerving sometimes and impossible to sleep whilst its happening!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all well

ebeson · 05/06/2009 17:40
