I hope I've done this right - here is the new thread...and hopefully the last in ante-natal

Tee2072 · 04/06/2009 20:10

That's incredible Ineed!! Especially since you saw it on the 3D scan!

insywinsyspider · 04/06/2009 20:24

hello all,

14 days to go for me, seems like agggeeess when I hear how close you all are to your due dates and some of you overdue!
Took boys swimming as not going to be able to do that for a while, I know its a safety thing but really annoying! really busy day, was feeling all crampy and baby very low but then had big poo and now baby feels all comfy again

congrats to ineed and what a shock, I didn't realise she was expecting a boy, was she told that at the scan? (its giving me hope that I MIGHT have a girl and its more 50:50 than people ar eleading me to believe) lovely name too

and thanks naat and tee for updates about effie hope your are passing on our best wishes to her and litle Rupert x

lauraloo09 · 04/06/2009 20:26

what a story ineed esp after you saw the 3d image and thought it was a boy! I hope you enjoy spending as much needed time with your lovely daughter x

LittleSarah · 04/06/2009 20:32

Ineed - Can't believe the 3D scan was so wrong! That is mad. Congrats anyway, well done with the labour, sounds like you did amazing!

Well definitely losing the plug as went again to toilet and there was more. Hoping that means labour before the end of the week but if not, hey ho!

loooouise · 04/06/2009 20:59

Ineed!!! That's the most incredible labour story I've read yet! Huge congratulations to you, Emily Rose is a beautiful name. Glad to hear you're all stitched up and feeling good. A real feel good story in fact!!

xxxx

loooouise · 04/06/2009 21:04

Hey LittleSarah, at your plug!! Go on sister, get thee to the RLT and bonkathon. I expect to hear about a littlelittlesarah by 9am sharp

ermintrude13 · 04/06/2009 21:06

Ineed at our 20wk scan for DD we were both sure we saw testicles but they must have been the labia because genitals of both sexes can be disproportionately large in utero. But that's not as bizarre as seeing an actual willy at a much later and 3D scan! Maybe she was waggling her finger at you, the little trickster! . Sounds like you managed really well with the pushing and kept mobile in spite of epidural, must have been a good anaesthetist. Well done and many congratulations!

I second the thanks to Tee and Naat updating us on Effie and baby Rupert - let's hope this new improvement lasts.

Hey to everyone else, especially you lucky ladies dropping your plugs. Where else would you hear that sentiment?

chocciedooby · 04/06/2009 21:09

Oh Ineed - what an amazing story

Never heard of girl being mistaken for boy either. Don't worry about all those blue clothes in the drawers...you can now go out and have so much fun picking out pink things .

Hi Insy. Every time I get cramps I need to get to the toilet for a poo too. Then I feel much better afterwards. It's as if there isn't enough room for baby and poo .

Speaking of having a girl 3rd time around - 1 of us just has too!!!It is so exciting not knowing. We have a boys name but still stuck on the girls anyway.

bigcar · 04/06/2009 21:10

evening all

ineed, congratulations on the birth of Emily Rose, glad to hear everything went well for you. Sorry if I freaked you out the other day, I hope you saw my post before you went in, my problem was the scar not the induction. Great taste in names, dd1 is called Emily (snap Doris), ds1 is called Harrison usually known as Harri! Wow, that must have been a bit of a to discover your Harry was in fact an Emily, especially after a 3d scan, I thought they were supposed to be highly accurate, obviously not! Take it easy and look after yourself

effie, a very quiet yay, coming from over here, hope this brings you closer to that much wanted cuddle with Rupert Sending you hugs.

Sounds like there is a lot of movement going on for a lot of ladies now, fingers crossed things start moving even more, we might even be able to start a post natal thread soon

I've put some photos on my profile, hope you ladies can see them, not done it before

waves to all hoping for more baby news overnight, oooh, how exciting, who's going to be next?!

Tee2072 · 04/06/2009 21:14

lauraloo09 · 04/06/2009 21:15

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 04/06/2009 21:30

Ineed- I've just seen your photos on FB she (emily)is absolutely gorgeous as is DS1 (and the cows still there ). You also make me very you do not look like a lady who has just given birth!!!!!! Depressingly stunning!!!!!

Congratulations again and she looks a really good size how heavy was she ????

June2009 · 04/06/2009 22:08

hey bigcar I cant see your pic either

doris, looks like emily is 3.7 kg.

this nigbhourly business got me so down dh took me to harrods this afternoon as a treat, it was a lot more hardwork than anticipated but they have lovely toilets there at least :D
We walked around for hours, had a look at the baby stuff and nursery furniture, didn't buy anything as everything was ridiculously expensive. Ie baby girl's summer dress for £189. I can't remember the last time I spent that much on a dress for me .

We had lunch there which was really lovely. I wanted to get something special like some harrods sweets or something for labour but by the time we'd walked all that time I was so tired I just wanted to get out and come back home. Shame really.

I've been asleep since and missed the voting

I've just got up and I can't walk very well, not even going to attempt the stairs. Not sure if it's spd or just that I'm so tired or something else. Also the baby feels very very low.
(tmi territory) Sadly my mucus plug is staying put.
For a minute I thought my waters had gone in harrods as I felt slightly damp but no such luck :D It must just have been sweaty walking around so much.

I did treat myself to some pasteurised goat cheese from there, and some salmon eggs for after birth which I have been craving for some reason. Their food hall is absolutely brilliant (and not as expensive as expected.)

when you guys say you're having contractions on and off, are they different to your BH? Can you actually feel them?
I still can't even feel my BH, I know I am having them because I can see my belly changing shape, then I touch it and it's rock hard.
this pg business is confusing and not really straigthforward right from the word go to the end isnt it....

MrsMcJnr · 04/06/2009 23:06

Just checking in no due date baby for me but possibly some loss of the mucous plug here too

Ineed - wow! many congratulations on a beautiful daughter! glad to hear it all went pretty smoothly and I hope your stitches aren't too nippy. I am concerned now though as I have really gone for it on the pink and fairy theme!

Go Rupert

More from me tomorrow - aren't things getting exciting now!?

June2009 · 05/06/2009 00:56

Oooohh (finally!) feeling weird tonight, kinda very crampy bottom half of my belly, does that mean anything?
LOL I wonder how many times I can possibly ask what contractions actually feel ike on this thread :D I might have to ask in pregnancy ;)

Finding it very hard to walk whenever I come up from sitting down, but thinking about it, that's started yesterday.
I was having pretty regular BH every 3 minutes a little while ago but they stopped when I started moving around.
Good excuse to have some of that cheese :D
Hopeully I'm eihter giving birth soon or be able to waddle walk properly again tomorrow!

Naat · 05/06/2009 05:26

Hi Juners!

June, nice! Let's hope this means things are happening for you soon you'll realise when they are ctx and not BH as they sort of come 'in waves', they start, have a peak of pressure or 'pain' and then you feel they start to go. And, you cannot talk much or concentrate in other things while having one. That's my humble and limited experience keep us posted! xx

Silk, LOL at the guys from the car dealer. TBH I don't know much about cars so DH would die if I went without him glad you got this solved and over with!!

Mrsmc, hi!! Still hot in Spain? Or did you get some refreshing rain?

Ineed, saw your pics on FB! What a gorgeous baby! And DS looks so sweet and brotherly with her!!! And you, lady, look great! As if nothing Congratulations again!!

Bigcar, nope, can't see them

Hi Tibsy!, nice to read you again!

Hi to all Juners! Ermin, choccie, loouise, laura, tee, doris, daisy, littleS, llynn, bunny, blue, insy and EVERYONE else!

No baby here yet. Today I'll try and go out and not to think about it. Ermin and daisy are right, this can really do your head in and it's worse! I just need LO to either pop out today or wait until Sunday. Please please please!!! 39 wks today.

Hope you have a lovely day, dropping more plugs and bringing more babies to add to the thread

Effie, thinking of you and Rupert. (BTW, just checked FB and there are no further news ATM ladies)

(((Waves)))

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 05/06/2009 07:53

Morning all,

I am listen to the wise wrds ladies!!!

Set up for another lovely day in Devon

Will keep an eye on the thread as usual

postive thoughts to you all

Tee2072 · 05/06/2009 08:08

Morning all!

doris its about 8 lbs. So not tiny!!

june things might be beginning to happen, although I am no the one to ask, having never had a baby before either!

Off to get measured for nursing bras today. That'll be fun .

Everyone have a nice day and lets have some more babies!!!

chocciedooby · 05/06/2009 08:31

Ineed - What a beautiful baby! It brought tears to my eyes seeing that photo of Emily with your DS. It's amazing how one minute the babas are in our tummies and the next they are paqrt of the family Well done girl.

Enjoy getting measured Tee.

Hi to everyone else. Will catch up later. Have to get DS2 to school. DS2 is coming with me for my hospital appt today as his school is closed for elections. It will be fun bringing him to the place he was born and he will get to meet the DR that delivered him

LittleSarah · 05/06/2009 08:36

Checking in with no bambino in sight!

Bigcar - I can't see pics either, boo!

Ineed - Wee Emily is beautiful, have a wonderful first few days.

Good luck with the measuring tee, I'm with you on the more babies theme! Good luck particularly to our overdue gals; Doris, llynnn and MrsMcJNr!

Glad the Harrods' food hall didn't let you down June, always nice to have some scrummy snacks! My baby also felt very low last night but seems to have shifted a bit higher this morning.

Also everytime I wee I get a strange little flicker, almost like a wee kick right down low... but again, trying not to read anything into it!

As Naat has realised all this constant wondering drives you mad!

Midwife coming this morning for ante-natal check and then taking dd to cinema later, hope everyone else has a lovely day!

silkcushion · 05/06/2009 08:36

morning all - thought I'd jinxed myself last night after posting on here that I had no symptoms of labour at all.

Horrendous night from about 9pm when I started feeling sick and having period type pains. Threw up at 11pm but still felt dreadful (luckily this is the first time I've been sick this pgy) All night kept waking, tummy rock hard and loads of cramps.

And this morning it's all stopped again (apart from feeling a bit sick)

Have a massage later today so I hope I feel better for that.

Picking the car up Monday

I've also decided (after looking at FB) that Ineed has to be kicked off the thread She just looks too impossibly fabulous and glamorous for words in her post birth photos. Emily Rose and her ds are sooo cute together!

Hope you are all well and who's going to produce today? Not me I'm only 38 weeks! {passes the buck back to the overdue club)

Bigacr I can't see your Edward pictures and we need something to inspire us all to deliver!

bunnymother · 05/06/2009 08:38

Morning ladies!

You know the drill: no baby, no symptoms... DH thinks that labour will start when he gets home from work this evening, but I am not quite convinced. .

So... will have another day pottering about and taking it easy, with a little light housework thrown in for good measure!

Ineed's Emily Rose is such a beautiful baby girl, and DH and I were commenting on how big she is, until I checked my scan results and our LO is tracking to be the same size as apparently 3.7kg is average for 40 weeks?

Have lovely days Juners!!

June2009 · 05/06/2009 08:39

39+5 today, bah, nothing happened overnight.
I've just joined the twinges club that's all.

Still getting lots of BH, boobs leaking a little bit, and my bottom half belly is still very sore when I get up, it's a lot harder to walk around. Turning round in bed has proved near impossible. Ouchouchouch all night and whenever I've needed the loo. Sounds like SPD from too much walking the past few days, so much for trying to "get things going". Maybe I should stick to eating pineapple ;)

Ineed if my little bundle turns out to be a boy we can swap clothes ;)

naat good vibes sent your way for baby not to show up on Saturday! Good luck, and thanks for your explanation.

Fil yesterday said he wanted to organise lunch (for us, him, bil and sil (who usually brings a +1)) round ours this Sunday. My due date.
DH told him to come for coffee on Saturday instead, hopefully he's not going to try and force his way into the kitchen on Sunday, the last time he did this it was like a bomb had gone off in there afterwards.
I'm just not up to it at all, I can hardly walk, let alone bend down and tidy up after them.

I'm going to take it easy today, starting with going back to sleep!

Question for you, what does "rx" stand for in "rx for success" in "secrets of the baby whisperer"? Is that a commonly used term? (I'm guessing "reach for success"??)

Have a nice day juners, and bring on these babies!

ermintrude13 · 05/06/2009 08:46

Morning all

Don't want to depress you or anything, but was reading up on the web about due dates and amongst midwives in particular there's a feeling that we usually underestimate (and therefore induce too many babies who will come out fine on their own in another week). Because of induction policies the genuine stats of, eg. healthy natural births at 43 wks, are impossible to know. But given that there is some lunar connection and the fact that women's cycles can vary by over a week, the 'one size fits all' is not really workable.

AND first ones are more often 'late' than subsequent ones.

So anyone who hasn't hit their due dste yet needn't feel like an under-achiever, and a week or more 'late' is probably no such thing.

I know, I know, we all want them to pop out. . But they're still cooking!

Meanwhile, I'm still only 38+3 but would love to give birth today because a friend is taking both DC swimming after school and then DS to Beavers so I don't have any responsibilities until 7.30. Would love the kids to come home and find a baby, but given what I've just sais it's looking unlikely ... .
