I hope I've done this right - here is the new thread...and hopefully the last in ante-natal

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bigcar · 05/06/2009 17:57

afternoon all

Hope you can see my photos now! I could see them all, not really sure why they weren't showing. Do you have to have one photo for anyone to view for any of them to be seen by mates, iyswim? I'm really wishing I had grown up round computers, my kids have much more of an idea of what they are doing than me

I'm sure you all remember my frequent moaning about my antenatal care! My care during labour and postnatally was fab, I wouldn't have believed I was in the same hospital. Edwards first 3 feeds had to be formula because of the ga and gd so they could do his blood sugar regularly but they cup fed him because they knew I wanted to breast feed, took them ages apparently, it's just nice to know they didn't do the easiest thing for them and give him a bottle. It's the little things that make the difference I'm really glad now I didn't change hospitals.

I've got my follow up gtt and clinic appointment through now and Edwards appointment for a hip scan (standard after a cs here), just when I thought I'd escaped the whole hospital thing!

Edward is still officially gorgeous dd3 keeps giving him kisses all the time, it's so sweet Feeding is still going well, I'd forgotten how excited you can get about a burp, he can be a bit of a pickle with his wind

Dd2 has managed to cut her leg, not badly, on her bedroom door, how on earth did she manage that?!

june, I'm hoping it's because everyone is busy having babies Hope all these aches and twinges turn into labour pains soon for everyone

blueberry, hope all went well yesterday.

effie, thinking of you

waves to all

ebeson · 05/06/2009 18:06

Hi, no this isnt my first, i have already got 5DC, ranging from 21 to 5.

bunnymother · 05/06/2009 18:23

Evening ladies!!

Ermintrude - how on earth did you get to be such a font of knowledge and wisdom?!?

As today is my due date, have been trying to get some paperwork sorted. So, this evening I have been "rewarded" by losing either all or part of my plug - am very excited!! DH is convinced that our LO is coming this evening but I am not quite convinced (or am I delusional?). Perhaps she will do as Ermin suggested and come on Sunday night - following the full moon? In which case, I would really love to call her Diana, after the moon goddess. Only its sooo associated with the late Princess of Wales, so am unsure...

Tee - love your description of nursing bra shopping . I had just such a fun experience myself, and went straight to the internet! FWIW www.asos.com has a good range and free delivery for £75 and above. And of course there is nursingbra.co.uk and figleaves.

My Hot Milk bra arrived this afternoon, courtesy of ASOS. Think I would still be without a nursing bra if I was solely reliant on shops w a physical presence - what sizes do they actually stock?!

WElcome Ebeson!

Oh, Lynn - can't find the posting where you said your last name, do you mind saying it again and I will add you as a friend on FB?

Completely agree w how gorgeous Ineed looks, esp after a baby! Sadly, DH now thinks that this is how women generally look post child birth... . I'll show him!

Loving all the postings, ladies!! And, of course, come one you darling little Juner babies!!

bunnymother · 05/06/2009 18:27

Oops, crossed threads!!

Bigcar - how beautiful are your children, and baby Edward is absolutely gorgeous - what a cutie!! You must just be thrilled!

Effie - hope little Rupert is improving and you are that bit closer to holding him!

Haven't heard from MrsMcJnr - wonder if she has had a McBaby?!

Blueberry - hope everything went well!

Think we heard from everyone at this morning's round up? Sounds like we are all just ticking along...

ermintrude13 · 05/06/2009 19:13

Bigcar yay, got to see the pics. Edward looks very serene, bless him. I'm not surprised he's being showered with kisses

bunny any wisdom I have amassed is down to a combo of Google and being a time-wasting freelancer with a short attention span .

Welcome ebeson. As you can tell, you join us at a point where patience is wearing thin and we're all feeling like hippos.

Must look at Ineed's pics - think I've been avoiding them out of sheer

Tee2072 · 05/06/2009 19:13

sadly not pushing out a baby today

Blissed out after a lovely massage. Now dh is home bit stressed as it looks like some serious problems with the dsc.

Poor dh, work is really stressful for him at the moment and now he's beside himself with worry about his other children (social services have got involved - long story)

Bet I go into labour this weekend just to finish him off!

Big car - gorgeous kids and Edward looks scrummy

Ebeson - hello yr very welcome. Seems yr still a novice mum compared to Dreamy

Ermin - don't look at Ineed's photos you may well be sick with envy

Bunny - I can send yr dh pics of me if he needs a reality check of how most of us look post birth (like we've been hit with a frying pan!)

Tee - sorry bra shopping was so dreadful. ime most bra fitters are crap. Thanks for the on line info

Hello to other Juners and hope Blue's got her lo now

ermintrude13 · 05/06/2009 19:39

I can only see the 4D scan on Ineed's page!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 05/06/2009 19:50

Ineeds photos are on FB ermin sorry

ermintrude13 · 05/06/2009 19:57

Ah, that explains everything. Thanks Doris. / waddles off muttering about newfangled interweb stuff/

LittleSarah · 05/06/2009 20:41

Hey

Just checking in, no baby here! Had my dad on the phone and then met my ma for a drink and they both said they think Sunday... we shall see!

Bigcar - gorgeous pics, lucky woman!

Ebesen - Welcome! Expecting no 6 eh? How fantastic! Hope you are feeling well.

Bunny - Glad your bra has arrived, is it gorgeous? Are you loving it? I am such a HOTmilk addict now!

June2009 · 05/06/2009 20:56

all hope is not lost, I just read on "babycentre" that:
"Persistent lower back or abdominal pain, often accompanied by a crampy premenstrual feeling." is a sign of early labour.
That's exactly what Ive been feeling since yesterday evening, persistent lower abdominal pain.
Thought it was SPD but my pelvic area actually feels fine.
All of a sudden I don't mind this abdomial pain so much.

insywinsyspider · 05/06/2009 20:59

naat I completely missed your comments re my MW appointment ? she is hopeless, I?m hoping I get a reasonable appointment tomorrow.

Felt really achy today but probably not surprising lifting two toddlers, they are being really well behaved tho so I am lucky.

choccie glad it isn?t just me on the poo front

tee I?ve been having nightmare bra shopping, m&s said they don?t measure they just ?offer a fitting service? as in take your best guess and we?ll tell you, that?s rubbish when you have two toddlers, surely no one has time to do that?? I need to work out how to measure myself and get to nursingbra.co.uk

bigcar agree with everyone lovely photos

Hi everyone else

No baby, liking the fact its raining today tho I hate hot weather at best of times ? my mum just called to say she?s free this weekend to have the boys so a good time to go into labour not sure I can oblige, 38 +1 today

Naat · 05/06/2009 21:05

Hi Juners!!!

Sitting in front of a laptop at a friend's house so I'll try to catch up before they kick me out

Ebeson, welcome!!

bunny, at your bra shopping and success! It's still homework for me

bigcar, great pictures!!! Edward looks lovely and the other DC as well!! They must be really excited with LO!

mrsmc, is there a mclittle already? We haven't seen you here...

littleS, my mum says it'll be SUnday for me as well... and now that June said it'll be full moon, then DH is convinced as well

silk, so sorry to hear your DH is having some problems with his DC, hope it all gets solved soon. ((hug))

Hi Doris!!!

tee, at that M&S woman!!! COW!!! Glad you did it online.

hi Llynn, may I also add you to my FB?

june, definitely b) today!

loouise, LOL at birth orgy!!

daisy, yes, the reality in LatAm is sometimes dire, esp. in certain regions. It's so sad to see certain things over there.

effie, thinking of you and Rupert xxx

hi Rose, Dreamy, ermin, silk and ALL the rest of the Juners!

Ok, last chance for LO to arrive tonight, then to please wait until tomorrow night. NOT during the day, please! Thanks for your positive thoughs re. this. I'll keep you posted tomorrow on how things go. Hopefully I won't have to come and vent/cry to you

Hope to see more babies arriving!!!

(((waves)))

chocciedooby · 05/06/2009 21:08

Bigcar - Pictures are lovely. What a wonderful family you have

Had OB appt. today. All normal. Baby currently weighing in at about 8lbs.

Mentioned to DR that I had lost some or all of my mucus plug and he said he expected that at this stage. (have I posted this already?). I am losing my mind a bit today.

Just cleaned the bathrooms and washed the floors. Scrubbed the shower. Was having a bit of an energy boost but now I am shattered.

DH is being a bit of a pain again this evening. I am so sick and tired of him being constantly glued to his blackberry that I feel like smashing it into pieces!!! . He was even on it whilst DS1 was sitting patiently waiting for his bedtime story DS waited and waited. No wonder he eventually got fed up and started to be bold.

DH can't ever seem to switch off from work; even for 5 minutes for his kids if he has received an e mail etc. It drives me bananas. Sorry everyone for the rant.

I wonder how Blue got on. Can't wait to hear some news.

Was checking through the list and see that there are quite a few of you due this weekend. Good Luck everyone. Sending lots of baby labour vibes....

Not heard from Mrsmc - I wonder if there is any news there?!

chocciedooby · 05/06/2009 21:17

Hi Naat. Good Luck with MIL tomorrow. She is with you tomorrow isn't she?!

Hi Insy. You are so lucky having your mum around to help out.
I am confused over my due date. I always thought it was 18th June but OB said he was sticking with 17th. Then on my scan pics today it said EDD 18th. I suppose 1 day doesn't matter but its psycological for me.

Lots of painful BH's today. They are getting more and more painful each day now.

Tee2072 · 05/06/2009 21:32

effie posted on FB:

"Back at home- its bitter sweet, as my little Rupert is still in hospital- We have had more encouraging words and noises from the Drs- fingers crossed, but trying not to build up our hopes. I hated leaving him- but pleased to be home and enjoyed a decent cuppa xx bed time soon and can't wait to get back to him x"

chocciedooby · 05/06/2009 21:37

Thanks for that update Tee.

Poor Effie. It must be so hard to leave Rupert.

insywinsyspider · 05/06/2009 22:14

effie thinking of you x

choccie my dh isn't too bad with his phone but he has got a new one and is constantly emailing from it at the moment, mostly at bathtime rather than talking or even playing with the boys - he's completely oblivious that it might be a problem, its just really that the text or email can't wait half an hour till they are in bed imo - I agree with throwing it against wall, especially at story time
and you are right my mum and dad are great, taking boys away last week and being on standby to help when I'm in labour, my mum has also arranged to work 7.30am - 3pm so she can help out for the crappy after nap - dinnertime shift for the first few weeks, I'm lucky that she's a consultant so has that flexibility in her job - I'd love a daughter to be able to this for in the future but at the very least my parents will be treated well in their old age

hi naat fingers crossed for sunday for you then I'm off to check what the moon was doing when my other two were born to see if theres any correlation!

oh and I forgot to vote yesterday, really with myself, first time ever I haven't, grrr

Effielou · 05/06/2009 22:29

Hi All-- Effie here xx

Thank-you sooo sooo much for all the kind messages that have got to me via FB and I have had a read on here too. It has really kept my spirits up and I feel blessed on having such fab virtual friends.

Well where do I start.......????????

I was admitted at 34weeks with tightenings and scar tenderness-- they gave me 2 lots of steroids to strengthen babys lung and ordered bed rest. Things stopped after a few days and got discharged.

Internet had probs and could not get on here

Got re-admitted last wednesday with scar probs and tightenings. On the Fri- the Dr wanted to send me home- but as I was due to be admitted for observation, 1 week prior to my cs- I said 'nope" I'm staying-- thank god I did!!!!!

Sunday afternoon, the tightenings were happening in again and I didn't take much notice- as the same thing had happened lots by 18.05 they were coming every 5-8mins and hurting- I had an internal at 21.45 and no cervical change so it was just wait and see. I was re-examined about 1 1/2 hours later, as -now contractions were coming every 3 mins and were agony and I was 1cm dilated so all systems go!! Mark was called, babysitters on the way, drip in, taken to delivery- mark arrived and off to theatre we go I was having G+A and begging not to be put to sleep-- and mubbling about champers!!!

Rupert was delivered at 2.23am and was gorgeous- but soon started grunting- the paeds reg was called and they decided to take him to SCBU to monitor him. He was put on Nasal CPAP-- then ventilated!!!

He is now still on a ventilator and is doing better- but its still 2 steps forward 1 step back- We are just waiting for him to get below 50% oxygen and his pressures for expanding his lungs to drop- then he will come of the vent. Hes been diagnosed with severe Respiratory distress syndrome and pulmonary hypertension. These problems are not usual in a 36weeker but very common in very prem babies so they are not sure where its come from. I was diagnosed with GBS- but as my waters didn't break and he was born vaginally-- its unusual for this to be a problem.

I can't wait to hold him and kiss him.

I will fill more details tomorrow-- as boobies need emptying of home brew and I need my bed.

Congratulations to all you new mummies and good luck to the new mummies to be!!!!

I love you all xxxxxxx

MrsMcJnr · 05/06/2009 23:15

Hey ladies how are you all? Sorry for being AWOL. Nothing to report sorry! Typical! I snuggle (well as much as you can on a birthing ball!) up to the PC to catch up with you and my connection goes loopy so now it?s late and I really should be in bed just in case tonight is the night but?..!

June ? sounds like a presence deep in the pelvis for you, let?s hope that it?s not too long now! I had pains like you describe for a couple of days before I had DS actually, now I think about it, there is not a due date anywhere on my public health notes here only a fictitious last period which I am always at pains to point out to them didn?t happen (I had only just stopped breastfeeding DS when I fell pregnant so last period was actually mid April 2007!)

Naat ? still very hot here but a lovely breeze today so that helped! Probably won?t see rain again now until October! Hope tomorrow goes ok!!

Doris ? LOL you sound like me with my ?if I never have a moment again, I?d like to get done? list been ploughing through it this afternoon when my Mum had DS and I was meant to be resting ? bad girl DH wants to go to the cinema tomorrow night to see Terminator, I?ve told him to go alone, if it could be my last evening to do stuff for a while I?d rather do that!

Tee ? hope you got some comfy bras online I had a similar experience in my 1st pg in M&S when they tried to sell me a t-shirt bra when I have never fitted into any thing like that in my life thanks for updating us on Effie and little Rupert.

Choccie ? bet you were very proud of showing DS2 off today I remember having a 6 week post natal appointment with my 2 consultants and being so chuffed when they cooed over DS.

Littlesarah ? glad your MW appointment went well!

Silkcushion ? sorry to hear that you had a horrible night, poor you!

Ermintrude ? I hate the way that the induction clock starts ticking as soon as you hit some random due date it puts so much pressure on us. DS was 9 days ?late? and covered in vernix so he wasn?t really late at all. I tried to argue last time round that as I ovulate late in my cycle (around cd19) that should be taken into account but I was laughed at. I see the next full moon is 22nd June (too late for me!) there is a new moon on 7th though ? is that any good???

Daisy ? how are things today??

Ah Angechica thanks for popping in for me, of course I?ll let you know

Dreamy ? hope DD?s birthday is fabulous

Looouise ? hope you have a much better night tonight

Laura ? hey there

Hello Roseability Hello Llyynn

Welcome to the thread Ebeson !! Hope you don?t have to wait much longer! Were your other babies early/late/on time?

Bigcar ? delighted to hear that the care was so good in the hospital, you deserved it after all the earlier nonsense. You make being a new Mum again sound like a walk in the park All your babies are gorgeous Bet DS1 is delighted to have an ally in Edward!

Bunnymother ? happy due date! I like Diana how about Luna if your baby is born on Sunday?? No McBaby here yet

Insy ? my mother said something similar to me next week is apparently too busy and she doesn?t want to share a birthday with the baby (hers is 14th)

Effie ? so lovely to hear from you and hear your story so hope Rupert can join you at home soon

Ineed ? hey there get some photos on your profile when you can!!

Good labour vibes to you all ladies

LittleSarah · 06/06/2009 01:31
