I hope I've done this right - here is the new thread...and hopefully the last in ante-natal

louise and silk lol @ the notion I'm chilled . I'll pass that onto DH, he'll be most amused. I think maybe I'm just extremely fatalistic 3rd time around!

Nemo welcome to little Charlotte - another sweet name - but at her stopping breathing. Babies have apnoea anyway, and I still listen out for my DC's breathing at night now they'r 11 and 6 . Thank goodness help was at hand, and I hope she doesn't make a habit of giving you a fright.

Ta for passing on Bunny's news silk - congrats on little girl, and hope you'll come and tell us about it soon.

LittleS I've had a day of barely being able to walk, LO has been so squashed down, plus lots of pooing and BH so hope it follows your pattern. Am most impressed with you getting all that milk just from leaking - it's tremendous! When I was working I had 2x 20 min sessions in a day, with a yield of 6 oz at each, and that was with some serious pumping action. If you make lots more than you can use, I bet the hospital's milk bank would be only too pleased to take up the surplus.

Tee so glad you're home and that baby A is doing well - well done, woman! Saw the pics on the other thread - what a gorgeous boy!

June you rant away, can't believe neighbour and SIL are still being pains in the butt. I'm about to have a bubblebath and DH is bringing me up a large G&T - maybe you could do the same?

Naat hope to hear from you soon x

insywinsyspider · 15/06/2009 18:22

ohh how exciting just seen you posted I had a little girl! nope still pregnant still having contractions every 10-15mins, no change from this am except a full food shop, emergency trip to bank and made a duvet cover - amazing how things get you motivated! I think I'll join the endless days of niggles crew for the time being!
silk think you have me confused with someone else

off for a catch up whilst I bounce on ball and dh cooks me a curry....

insywinsyspider · 15/06/2009 18:36

ineed also v at your GP, hope you manage to get a much better response from other GP and HV, so frustrating when GP's have way to big egos, even if he didn't think it was thrush he should have at least tried to give you some ideas

daisy my contractions sound like yours! all over the place, gosh its exhausting, how have you been managing? I'm hoping this baby puts in an appearance soon

nemo congrats on your little girl and glad to hear everything is ok after breathing scare

tee welcome back, hows adam doing? are you at home now?

worriedamy welcome! never to late to join

june hoping the sweep works for you and hope the rant on here helps it usually makes me feel better. Your SIL sounds like a nightmare (still) I'm afraid I have no advice about the big baby thing, have you posted on any other threads about it?

right my curry is almost ready...

Arcadie · 15/06/2009 18:37

Every 10 -15 mins Insy! Cooooool! You go gurl. High five. etc

insywinsyspider · 15/06/2009 18:46

hi arcadie was just off over to PN Dec 07 to update you with my incredibly slow progress!
pineapple - tick
3 cups of raspberry leaf tea - tick
hot sex - really really can't be arsed although may have to...
curry - tick
bouncing so much feel slightly sea sick... ok think I'm trying too hard after spending most of day in fear/excitment

borriebear · 15/06/2009 19:34

hello ladies, i am so sorry I havent posted for ages but I have most definitely been reading this thread and it has been giving me great advice and support over the last few weeks/months.

Well to update my news I had a little boy called Jasper born on the 4th June, pretty early. He weighed 8 pounds 3 oz and he is gorgeous! Labour was ok but had to have an emergency c section after a long time trying! The important thing is that we are now home safe and sound

We are now struggling with normal new baby things like sleep...well mainly sleep actually. I have been quite emotional and have definetly been suffering from baby blues. Am hoping it will fade soon so I can relax and enjoy my gorgous little boy

So although I have been quiet I have been following all of your threads and it really has been keeping me sane these last few months thank you x

LittleSarah · 15/06/2009 20:19

Borrie - Congrats on your wee boy! Jasper is a lovely name! I too am struggling with sleep and have been emotional. Mine has been more coming in odd little bouts though. I'm sure yours will lift soon, if not make sure you talk to someone about it, don't let everything become too overwhelming.

ermin - Last time I did not save as much of leakage as I just didn't see the need (fool!) and of course duly regretted it when I had to pump, something that gave me far less success. If the pattern follows last time I will only leak like this for the first month - six weeks. On the down side you do feel horribly sticky and full and milk machine esque and no matter how hard you try you need to change at least once a day...

Hope the symptoms mean you'll have a nice on time baby like me!

Bunny - Congrats on your wee girl! About time eh? Can't wait to hear all!

Insy - hope your wee one makes an entrance soon, and llynnn - tell us your news please!

June2009 · 15/06/2009 20:26

Hehe, sorry about that Insy, you're back in the queue ;)
Daisy, you're better at this than me ;)
borrie Congrats! the thread is a life saver isn't it :D Do join us in post-natal once it's up and running (is it up and running already? Didn't check)
Tee Glad to hear you're back home, hope Adam follows soon!

Awww Borriebear that's lovely thank you, although I'm not sure If sane's what you want hormaonally crazed women are the best company please feel free to off load and post some more if it helps!!! Jasper was a really good weight for 10 days early

ineed- at you gp I'm having similar problems with pain post feeding, and was up at 5 this morning worrying about thrush, (I'm still on loads of painkillers top cope with the bf and had to get up this morning to take some before I could sleep) I also had thrush diagnosed vaginally (sorry if tmi) 2 days before I delivered. Anyway HV phoned today to make an appointment and I wibbled abit told her how things were she told me to phone the mw today on the oncall no. (I didn't want to bother them ) The mw (between my sobs )agreed it could easily be thrush so has phoned the GP and got a stronger painkiller prescription and a gel for thrush which dh went to pick up this evening. So if you get no joy on weds (that's a lot of feeds between now and then) speak to you HV or your mw.... GOOD LUCK this pain is not fun

This was going to be an epic post with congrats to all who need them but I am being dragged back to the sofa so will cath up again soon
xxxx

MrsMcJnr · 15/06/2009 20:49

How are we all ladies? I?m shattered, been doing too much and Aaliyah kept up her hourly feeding routine again last night from 10.30pm ? 5.30am and then started a nice long sleep just in time for her brother to wake up and he, poor little mite, has an awful cold. He is NEVER ill. He would be now wouldn?t he? Had to take Aaliyah to the health centre this morning for a heel prick test (they do two here, one at birth and then one on day 5 ? not sure what they are for and which if any is the Guthrie test that we have in the UK) it went ok but they were very rough with her then we had a BBQ this afternoon as friends from Scotland are over. Remember me complaining about their timing? Anyway I survived from 3-7pm and then told DH that I needed some rest so we sent them on their merry way. Of course I haven?t had the rest yet as have been tidying up and trying to chill out. It is absolutely boiling here today and it doesn?t help that I have the post-partum sweats.

Quick question: passed a clot today, not massive about the size of a grape. Should I be concerned? I don?t have any MW checks or anything here so just wondered if I should be concerned. I remember something similar happened after DS but it was larger and I was still in hospital then and they told me it would be because my membranes were ragged. This time though I was told that everything was whole.

llareggub · 15/06/2009 20:51

Hello lovely June ladies. I'm just popping in from the May 2009 thread to see if there has been any news from silk. I can see there isn't yet so I shall pop back out and leave you to it! Good luck to you all.

insywinsyspider · 15/06/2009 21:05

hi mrsmcj I think the clot thing is fine, I remember having clots about size of 50p with both mine and MW not being concerned, think if they are any bigger you should get it checked out, hope you're resting now x

thanks june - I ended up in both lists on your post so editted it again

Hi All

Still lots of pressure down below - every time I stand up it takes a while to be able to walk without it really hurting, which is a bit of a bind. But no signs of contractions or shows or anything. How are you doing choccie, my fellow due-dater?

insy oops, false alarm . Good luck with the curry and everything.

Borriebear many congratulations on the birth of baby Jasper!

MrsMc if there were lots of clots it could suggest some retained placenta but just one or two shouldn't be a problem

Am going to bed to take the weight off my bump . night night

Effielou · 15/06/2009 21:47

Hi All.

Massive congrats to Nemo Snow and Naat--Hope you are having fab new mummy moments xx

Hi Worried
Welcome Home and back Tee and MrsMc

Hows Adam doing Tee? Hope the nurses and Drs are treating you all nicely. I know how you are feeling at the moment, I'm sending lots of hugs your way xxxx

I love all the birthing stories- xxx

well Rupert has had another great day- he's been put on 4hourly/ demand feeds and breastfeeding really well. I'm allowing bottle feeds when I'm not there, because he wants to suck and gets stressed and that causes him to recess more.

He is now on 8hourly oromorph ( but not withdrawing anymore) and that should stop on wednesday.

So once he's off that, demand feeding and gaining weight- he will come home. He's doing all three- but drs need evidence. All the nursing staff are being my advocats, as they know he will be safe with me, and I know what I'm doing and we are willing to bring him back for blood tests- so fingers crossed xxx

Its even made me think about returning to nursing- but rather that had happened without a poorly boy xx

Good luck to all the Juners still to pop and congratulations to all the new mummies xxxx

Love you all xxxxxx
ps anymore facebookers-- I'm steph timms- bristol network xx

Pics of Rupert are up on FB xx

silkcushion · 15/06/2009 21:58

Insy - I'm so sorry. Got over excited about the Bunny news and got totally confused. There is a Juner on my facebook with the initals MC and today someone posted on their wall saying congrats on getting yr little girl finally. No other notification of birth or anything on there. I thought it was you. I'll hang up my columbo raincoat now then - sorry.

Borrie - congratulations - good to ehar yr getting over the baby blues thing

This afternoon/evening I have felt a definite change in something. Really crampy period type pains interspersed with some sharp shooting pains in my fanjo and large dollop of uncomfortable backache. Maybe possibly means we're limbering up for the big event in the next few days.

June - fb - clearly I ahven't got a clue who's on there. But I don't think I have you. My intials are VW (I'm on Naat's and Tee's and LittleS and Ineed's and others who I'm now not sure who they are). Bunny's intials are BT (pretty blonde girl) and she'll be on theirs as well as mine

Where are the pictures of Adam?

worriedamy · 15/06/2009 22:03

yey I'm on the list! I feel proper involved!

silkcushion · 15/06/2009 22:06

all you have to do now Worried is join us on facebook and then I can incorrectly announce to the thread that you've given birth

Effielou · 15/06/2009 22:08

Hi All

RE Facebook Its great having you all on there and I can sort of work out who's who but some I can't - its good fun guessing xxxx lol x

silkcushion · 15/06/2009 22:10

It must be Choccie not Insy - but let's wait for someone else to verify before we update the list

silkcushion · 15/06/2009 22:13

Effie very pleased to hear yr news re Rupert. I'm sure you'll fight convince them to let you bring him home soon

MrsMcJnr · 15/06/2009 22:22

Nemo ? many congratulations on Charlotte sorry that there have been some scary moments.

Doris ? sorry I missed that it was your birthday yesterday, hope you had a good one!

Bigcar ? sounds like feeding is going really well those pooey and wet nappies are really reassuring aren?t they? I need to try to get Aaliyah to cluster her feeds earlier but I guess it might be down to the heat.

Silkcushion ? how are the feet?

Ineedmore ? I haven?t done a public feed yet but I did hate doing them with DS. That special area sounds great and I like your Balamory game, might have to introduce it to my DS sorry to hear about the thrush and it certainly sounds like it is, what a tosser that Dr was hope you get someone decent to talk to soon. That is one reason I am glad I avoided the antibiotics at the hospital (though poor DD didn?t and I hate the little bruise on her hand it reminds me that I should have gone through that for her ) I know what you mean about the pre-prepared food, it really helps.

June ? poor you you must be really fed up with the Birth Centre remember that my baby was meant to be enormous, too big for my pelvis etc etc and she was 3.870kgs not the 4 or 4.5kgs predicted.

Daisy ? they weren?t mean or anything in the hospital, just very medical sorry to hear about your DP?s attitude, I really am, sending you a huge hug.

Littlesarah ? I know what you mean, bed becomes a place of temptation rather than a sanctuary when you are up all the time in the night. Well done on the saved milk, I haven?t started but should as I am wasting so much at the mo.

Insy ? sorry I wasn?t around to hold your hand hon, so hope you have your lovely babe in arms soon

Welcome Worried

Tee ? glad to hear Adam is much better welcome home!

Congrats Bunnymother what an unusual name

Congrats Naat & Llynn ? can?t wait to hear all about it!

Must go to bed, so sorry for my disjointed post

LittleSarah · 15/06/2009 22:48

MrsMcJnr - What a rough night you had! You did well to get up with ds and host a BBQ, amazingly well!

I would love to go to bed now but I am waiting for Alexander to wake up for last feed before bed, and I'm just hoping it's a big one. My cousin said she had her best night's sleep when she did as we all apparently should and went to bed about 7pm! I guess I could do that one night... hmmm.

Hey Effie, glad Rupert is doing so well! Fantastic news, and still breastfeeding, even better!

Silk and ermin - I'm hoping things are starting up for you ladies!

Right wee man is crying so it looks like I can head to bed, feed and then hope for a good night's sleep!

bunnymother · 16/06/2009 01:51

ladies! Bunnymother DH here.

Baby girl 3.5kg (7pounds 11) born Sunday 12.04pm. Baby (no name just yet..) and Bunnymother are well.

and in more detail (at request of bunnymother): went into labor Sunday morning 2.30am... contractions about 10 min apart. Contractions 5 minutes apart at 3.30am. UCH advised to wait till 3 minutes apart till leaving home. 6.30 am contractions 3 minutes apart... arrived UCH 7.15am... birthing centre... already 7cm dilated. Not quite the plan! Meconium at about 7.30 meant transfer to labour ward with simulaneous request for epidural. Plan now totally out the window. Shift change meant nothing much happened for 45 minutes!!! (later found out anesthetist didnt get epidural reqeust till 8.15am... he arrived within 5 minutes and completed within 30 minutes). False alarm on baby heart beat drop at 8.30 - 8.45... alarms everywhere.. 10 people rushed in. Doctor in charge excellent... said false alarm. Now 10cm dilated. So Epidural finally 8.45am (even with the 10cm dilate....admitted they wouldnt normally do this... but bunnymother in big pain... and baby was transverse). Pushing hard from 9am. 10am baby still hadnt turned. Transfer to theatre to try the "suction cap". Suction cap got baby to turn... but still couldnt push out. 11ish... epidural top up. Salad servers then came out (biggest ones you ever saw) with prep for ceasar if neccesary. 11.55 all hope on salad servers given up and about to go to ceasar. Bunnymother... "roll drums" says "give me one more go!"... doctor says "ok, but then we go ceasar!".... 12.04pm chuba successfully out! bit bruised and battered but gorgeous! Mum upgraded from hero to superhero!

Hopefully out of hospital tomorrow... another story... nowhere near as action packed... will leave for bunnymother...
