daisy5 · 10/06/2009 13:53

Hello again,

Apologies for the long drawn out post this morning. I feel better today than I have in a month - busy smiling and laughing - such is the relief in vaguely knowing that all is fine and within the week, one way or another, will have a baby.

mrsmcjnr - can't wait to hear your news. I bet you have a LO in your arms by now .

silk - fabulous nesting going on.

erm - reassuring that you coped. DH had just 3 days paternity last time (+the weekend) but as I have a dd as well now, would have preferred the longer leave (had the baby come earlier he could have taken 2 weeks leave adding some overdue holiday - that is the souldestroying thing - just watching all this potential leave go up in smoke). He will be able to take it, just not in one go. Two mothers have offered to have Claudia over next week, one Monday pm and one for Wed pm, so that's nice of them. Your clever dh for ensuring he ran the company this time around

choccie - I've just realised I'm behind on presents too but thought I might resort to a spot of internet shopping!

louise - oh dear, I never thought that In Laws could be a problem when you weren't together. That's lovely of your parents to have her staying at your house - might it even be a teency bit amusing at times - it does sound like the makings of a comedy - your lovely English parents - his passionate Mediterranean mother-in-law, single mum and newborn - all in the same house with many opposing views . Tee hee at dh - I've often read that incorrectly and laughed at myself.

littlesarah - hope the breastfeeding is going better. Ineed - how is yours?

june rose choccie naat - we are all in the Neverending Cramps Club aren't we!! choccie - I agree with you completely - even having already been in labour, I've found it very hard this time to tell the difference between them and strong BH. I've had many pains that really do not feel anything like strong BH's. Although, I do know that innate feeling inside of knowing when they really are strong and you've passed the point of no return.

Just a thought, but was blueberry having a cs on 4th June? And it's a while since we've heard from Ivegottogivebirth - I wonder if she's had a LO

chocciedooby · 10/06/2009 15:29

Ermin - I do feel quite organised with the presents etc but wrapping them and posting them off will be another matter I have also only just bought my dads Birthday gift which was in May!!!

I have decided to travel to the UK in July with lo for our family reunion and leave dh at home to mind the boys. I just can't seem to make a decision on how long to go for. 2 or 3 nights? Feel a bit guilty not taking the boys with me but it would be far too complicated as there isn't enough accommodation for us all, no car to get us from airport etc etc. I wonder if 3 nights would be too long?? My brain is mush and I feel useless trying to decide. I have booked my return flight so must remember to decide what to do and book flight out! If baby arrives soon I just know I will forget and all this being organised will fly out of the winddow.

helpivegottogivebirth · 10/06/2009 16:05

Just clocking in to say:

Polly Diana was born on Monday 8th June, 8.50 pm weighing 6 lbs 9 oz.

We had it at a birthing centre - brilliant experience - gave birth in the end on a stool.

Out of my myriad piles of 'junk' i took to hospital, most useful were:

Bendy straws to drink out of bottle held by husband
Tracker oat bars
Face sprayer (as the pool makes you quite hot)

Lots of shouting - my husband described it as a scene out of jurassic park!

Oh and i honestly think pineapple helped as it all kicked off after i'd eaten a whole one before bedtime.

daisy5 · 10/06/2009 16:19

Absolutely fabulous homebirth mrsmcjnr - that is what you had originally hoped for I seem to recall!!! What a wonderful way to christian your new apartment. I bet she is beautiful. Well done. Congratulations.

Sorry, I meant to say Congratulations helpivegoto. I'm so brainless at the moment!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 10/06/2009 18:51

Just copied Mrmc's message for you all

By MrsMcJnr on Wed 10-Jun-09 16:27:22 Hi there, Mrs MckJnr's husband here, just a brief note to let you all know that Aaliyah Rosemary was born this morning at 11.12am in our apartment!!!!

She decided not to wait for the paramedics or to go to the hospital so mum and dad delivered her, mum pushing well and dad managed to catch her. Medics arrvied about 20 minutes later and made sure mum and baby were safe before letting dad cut the cord.

Quick ambulance ride to the hospital for a check up and we were in our room by about 2pm. So a fairly exciting morning for us all.

Mum and baby are doing great, baby 3870gms and 52cm long. Will prob get home on friday, I'm just back here to pick up supplies and make sure our son is ok with his Grandmother.

Hope that's enough info for now and no doubt the wife will be in touch with you all as soon as is practical.

Take care and best wishes to everyone, especially those still waiting...

What a fab Birth!!!!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 10/06/2009 18:53

Oh and well spotted questions hope you're doing ok with the wait....

dreamydowler · 10/06/2009 18:54

chocciedooby · 10/06/2009 18:58

Congratulations Mrsmc - that was a quick birth wasn't it?? Can't wait to hear from you and get all the details. Lovely name again and a good healthy weight.

Is there anyone else pushing out lo right now????

Tee must be next.

chocciedooby · 10/06/2009 19:02

Oh my god. x posts with Mrsmcs DH.
Didn't realise she had the baby in the new apartment!!! That is amazing. What a fab birth story. So glad all are well.

bunnymother · 10/06/2009 19:31

Congratulations help!! What wonderful news!! Polly Diana is a beautiful name, I esp love Diana (the huntress and moon goddess... sigh)
. Excellent that your labour went so well! I am also aiming to use a birthing centre, so great to hear you found it a brilliant place!

And I am so excited for MrsMcJnr - that is fantastic news!!! Another lovely name combo, and another sizeable Juner baby! How dramatic to have had the baby at home w'out professional help. Bet it was much more intimate, though!

Ladies - what a wonderful day, I am so thrilled for the new mums!! Was feeling a bit blue and fed up and hormonal (cried watching an episode of SATC!), and its cheered me no end to hear of the new Juner babies! Now all I need is to see photos!

Poor DH trapped in public transport hell w the Tube strike, but am hoping to meet him for some curry so fingers crossed that causes some kind of reaction as our little sweetheart seems a bit too settled...

ermintrude13 · 10/06/2009 19:38

Yay MrsMcJnr, what a lovely quick birth, well done you and welcome to your little girl - gorgeous names. Well done to your DH for posting too - and thanks to Questions for letting us know and Doris for pasting here.

bunny you could walk to meet your DH halfway and see if that shifts anything...

llynnnn · 10/06/2009 19:42

Mrsmcjnr - CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Aaliyah Rosemary, another gorgeous name! so pleased she has arrived safely and glad to hear you are both doing well

Helpive - CONGRATULATIONS on the birth of Polly Diana, beautiful name! great news that you had such a good experience at the birthing centre!

So pleased that their are now babies arriving, but when is my turn!! i've 8 days overdue now and getting very impatient!!

Bunnymother - hope your dh escapes the tube, you get your curry and it moves you along!

Choccie - wish it was me pushing the bay out at the mo!!

Silk - hope you are resting now after your busy day and all that activity gets things moving for you!

Naat & Daisy - can i join your club of annoying pains, aches and contractions yet still no baby!i feel your pain, its soooooooo frustrating!!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all well

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 10/06/2009 19:56

Congratulations to MrsMcJnr and family! What fab news!

Naat · 10/06/2009 20:21

Oh my GOD!!!
Mrsmc, what fabulous news!!! What a quick birth and at home!!! I can't wait to hear about it, I'm sure all Juners feel the same!!
Thanks questions for letting us know and Doris, I personally thank you for pasting it here as I'd have never been able to read it.

I'm in a world of confusion right now, I don't know if my waters are trickling I'd rather have them break completely and make a mess than not knowing! It's so little (twice today) that the pads just don't work, as they absorb it all! I think I'll call the BC and see what they say. Will keep you posted.

Llynn, join us!!

Bunny, have a great curry!!

Hello to all!!!

xxx

Effielou · 10/06/2009 21:47

Congrats to all new mummies and daddies. I love the names too.

Wonder whether Tee has got her bundle in her arms?????

Well Rupert has had a fab day today. The withdrawal from his morphine seems to be going well- as he slept all day. We had a minimal contact day so no cuddles- but if that what it takes to get him well the I will cope.

His blood cultures never grew anything- so of ALL antibiotics.

He started 2hourly feeds today- and onto 3hourly feeds tomorrow- and shhhhh I might be able to finially breast feed tomorrow- depending on his breathing!!! My boobie doobs really need him to feed--ouch DH gets punched if he brushes past them.

We are finially beginning to think that things will be ok and I'm breathing again!! Thats not to say that my boy may take another turn- but hes looking like a proper baby. I'm beginning to recognise him as mine and not a property of SCBU. I do worry that he doesn't/ won't recognise me- as hes been looked after by so many different people. So I need to get BF him and caring for him- so he knows I'm his mummy.

Anyway. Well done to all you fab Mummies and hopefully more of you Juners will be holding your babies in your arms.

DH put pics of Rupert on his FB and tagged me in them-- so you should be able to see them.

For those wo don't know-- I'm Steph Timms- bristol on FB amd My profile pic is of me and Rupert xxxxxxx

Take care and tinking of you all xxx
