Hello all
Going to try and catch up with you all while the wee man naps!
llynnn - (Where are you on facebook, I had a wee look for you but wasn't sure if I had the right lass). I'll be watching the Apprentice later too, but if you're labour kicks off properly that it definitely the best option!
Ermin - Dd is pleased but he was asleep for the whole time she was here yesterday so she got rather bored! It'll be nice to get her back tomorrow morning and we can all spend the day together.
I wonder how things will be when milk comes through, probably tomorrow. Planning an afternoon out with dh, dd, ds(!) and my sister. I just don't remember weepiness last time but I have a feeling I will really feel it this time, have been feeling quite emotional already!
People do seem to think I now have the 'set' with a boy and a girl, it's funny! I know in an ideal world dh and I would like at least four so we'll definitely be seeing some raised eyebrows next time I'm sure!
Daisy - Girls' clothes seem so much cuter to me now I have my boy. I think back to the boys' stuff I saw when pregnant and they just don't seem to have such a good selection! I think not getting dishes and washing done before bed should almost have been a clue baby was coming as I have been very good at keeping on top of that recently like you.
Bigcar - Good luck to your dd in nursery, my dd is starting school in August and I cannot wait. Got her induction on Thursday and will be getting uniform which should be fab!
Tee - Yay to the Apprentice final!
Choccie - I too cleaned out food cupboards before baby arrived, in fact all the kitchen cupboards, it still makes me smile.
Naat - You poor lamb with all your false starts, that must be very frustrating! I'm sure it means that things are getting ready in there though so fingers' crossed.
Silk and June - You girls are doing some great nesting, well done!
Dreamy - Glad to hear your dd's 18th went so well, what an exciting moment for you all!
Ineed - I'm not surprised you're having to readjust to having a girl when it seemed so certain she would be a ds! I think if this one had been a girl I would have experienced similar feelings as we were so sure of having a boy. Glad to hear the milk is in, mine is on the way I think! I read your post earlier and was wishing someone would give us a few bags of clothes and then my mum said one of her friends has a couple of bags for us!
MrsMcJNr - Your neighbours sound horrendous! Thoughtless, inconsiderate arses! I hope at least you get your baby soon to help some!
I have a good game for those with babies, (so basically for everyone over the next month!); listing what you have learnt that you did not previously know about babies/birth/etc...
Things I'm learning that I did not know/experience last time:
As soon as you take off a boy's nappy he pees all over everything!
It is also far more of a faff cleaning around the male genitalia!
After pains exist and are extremely unpleasant.
Some babies feed for more than 20 minutes at a time and sometimes for up to an hour, no matter how tired you are, no matter that it is 4.30am and they already fed for half an hour at 3am..
Your baby can look like every close relation except you. (Or so they say).
Latching on can be incredibly painful.
That's it for now...
...Except I forgot to mention in my birth story that I actually only had one midwife as the second didn't actually have time to get there! The first was trying to contact her when she saw me starting to push!
