here we go...
Guess in the next one will be the one where we'll be waiting for the first kick! hooray it's the weekend! i haven't had any stretchy stomach feelings, maybe a quiet period pain rumble (!? is that what you mean?) well what a beautiful day i'm lying on sofa under a blanket, laptop on lap and sky baby channel on in background (i've just shed a few tears of happiness for a manchester mum who has just screamed her head off and given birth to a baby boy).

can't remember who asked - cads? re: measurement of c to r . i had one scan at 11+1 babe was 4.5 and another at 12+2 and it measured 6.0 cm.

have good sats jen

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
busyalexsmummy · 24/05/2005 20:52

Hi everyone
hellcat-hugs, not sure what to say really but hope that it'll all be investigated now(they took notice of me once i'd had 3 m/c and i went and had u/s and a hysteroscopy to check my womb and lots and lots of blood tests-it could be something as simple as your blood clotting ability-my friend had this and they put her on low dose asparin and she carried her fisrt baby to term last yr!

Had 2nd appt with m/w today, have moved date again as consultant wrote it down wrong and now is the 19th not 22/23rd!?
Knew i'd lost weight!-had keytones in my urine!!
Heard h/b for the fisrt time, took her ages toi find it though! lol

Im not having any of the tests ie triple etc, basically because A.I didnt with ds B.my age(quite low risk based on age alone) C. there is no way I could have an abortion now, not after ive got over my intial feeling and i wouldnt want to risk an amnio chacha-its a case of knowing what you would do if anything came back wrong from these tests, to your choice of having them done or not, its a personal decison, that needs a fair bit of thought. i would think your m/w will def listen for the h/b at your next appt

best be off to stop these keytones with a nice slice of rasberry pie! hehe

CADS · 24/05/2005 20:58

Hi everyone

Gosh, alot has been happening lately. Taken ages to catch up on all the news.

HK - I'm so sorry, sweetheart. Hugs and kisses. Hope they get all the tests rolling for you soon.

Jenjam - Thinking of you. Have a friend who was in the exact same position and everything turned out find after the amnio.

Tessasmum - Congrats on the pregnancy and wedding. Hope you have a lovely day.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Had my 16 wk appt with mw today and was given a bit of the scare. She couldn't find the heartbeat no matter what she did. Luckily, she is lovely and rang the hosiptal immed and sent me down there for a scan. Everything turned out fine. Baby was lying on his/her tummy so mw couldn't pick up the heartbeat (plus all my layers of fat). Got to see baby again who decided to wake up and take part in the olympics. So glad dh decided to come to the mw appt with me at the last minute but it has given him a really big fright. I think i saw tears in his eyes when we saw baby's heart beating. Also, my blood pressure is good so headaches are due to tension (got one immed after fright). Just got back for yoga which has help release some of the tension, so am on the mend.

Off to bed. Speak to you tomorrow.

ChaCha · 24/05/2005 23:02

CADS - Awww..firstly your m/w sounds great. Glad all was well and must have been lovely for the two of you to have been together listening to that heartbeat. Wow!

Have had one sick night! Being sick really isn't funny anymore. Other than doing a great impersonation of a rag doll am also experiencing little accidents everytime I vomit! How the heck did that happen?!? TMI i know but geesh!

I don't want to do any of the tests. Is that okay? There's not much i'd do anyway so what's the point in worrying for the next 6 months - worry about everything as it is.

Pizza and I no longer get on. Such a sad way to end a long relationship. Oh well!

CADS · 25/05/2005 09:13

Chacha - Sorry you still feeling sick. I promise it will all be worth it in the end. So much so, that most of us have come back to do it again, even a 3rd or 4th time.

BEKsmum · 25/05/2005 10:57

Morning girls, Cads what a fright, bit of a desperate way to get to see the baby again though wasn't it Glad everything was ok in the end though, didn't realise you wouldn't be able to hear the heartbeat if baby was laying on it's front, suppose it makes sense though. Glad the headaches were only tension and not anything more serious.

I'll remind you of what you've just said to Chacha when we're all moaning that we're sleep deprived milking machines!!! Not really Chacha, she's right it is all worth it in the end even when they're being naughty you've just got ot love them. Just don't rush round the bit where they can't speak or move, as this is definitely the easiest bit!

Chacha sorry to hear you're feeling so rough still, how many weeks are you now? Just try and do some pelvic floor exercises whenever you're sitting watching the telly or anything like that and it will help. Oh the joys of pregnancy
You will get back on pizza eventually, I went right off curry when I was carrying ds but seem to be ok this time, strange isn't it.

Rodeo, now don't you go making promises you won't be able to keep, it's in our nature to wind people up so you've got no chance of not carrying on - anyway where's the fun in being nice all the time!!!

Busy glad your 16 week check up went well, take it baby was playing hide & seek to stop you getting a heartbeat?

By the way have got my cravings back cherry tomatoes like last time but now I'm desperate for fresh pineapple - yum.

Right better go as ds is having lunch with is pals before pre-school, speak to you all later.

rodeo1 · 25/05/2005 14:37

Oh Cads what a scare, happened to me a few weeks ago and it was horrible, so glad everything was ok though!

Busy glad your's went well too - I can't believe how far on we all are now! I'm 17 wks today, how far are you, Chacha and twinkle? you're due about the same time aren't you? About 14?

Enthusia, don't worry about the test, if your mw didn't arrange an appt around 16 weeks they probably don't do them in your area or maybe just offer them to ladies over a certain age, although in my opinion and experience they are more trouble then they're worth!

So who is going to try and find out the sex? I didn't with my other but Im very tempted this time round! Will we be able to resist?

busyalexsmummy · 25/05/2005 15:11

Hiya everyone

chacha-sorry to hear about the sickness, I sympathise, Im stil getting it most days either first thing or last thing at night, dont rest your hopes on it ending soon-it may or it may not(I had sickness with ds till about 28 wks) but just take each day at a time as some days your feel ok and others like sh*t!but dont forget the end result!
ps-pmsl at the incontinence issue with heaving!-I sometimes get that and also had to wear a pad when I went for dating scan as I thought if they pressed to hard on my tummy I may wet myself-but I didnt luckily!
Had quite bad SPD pain last night and got quite emotional to, think it was partly due to watching that program on that teenage girl who had baby and died of bone cancer at 16+the program on bbc3 about the making of band aid(that song always has given me goose pimples whenever I hear it!) and lastly because of the pain, I find it really difficult to cope with as a a sring chick of only 20 Im reasonably fit and healthy normally and the SPD makes me feel like a decrepid old woman! nevermind...

Just a thought but maybe we could all start posting where we are in our pg after our msg's like at the bottom of this message-then we wont have to keep asking each other how far along we are

Rodeo-Im going to find out the sex, I dont really want to(didnt with ds) as I like suprises but I have a load of boys clothes I want to car boot this summer for the cash but if its anougher boy then I shall keep the stuff, I dont know, Im still undecided, one minute I think-yes I will, the next I dont want to as I want it to be a suprise!

Found out that b-i-l and his g/f arent staying at our house now as she is too upset and they are p*ssed off we didnt tell them when we went up there to visit the week before last, but its like dp explained A-we needed time ourselves to get used to the idea B-we didnt tell the rest of the family till last week anyhow, so thats that now, and Ive really lost my patience in trying to make everything ok and am just going to steer clear of both of them this weekend, otherwise Im going to end up upsetting myself and perhaps saying something I dont mean.

ChaCha · 25/05/2005 15:31

Busy - sometimes you just can't win! I think that's a tad selfish, what about your happiness and being happy for you? Poooooh! Better off without them I say.

I've posted a msg under the PG topic today. Am feeling totally sh*te!! One minute am in tears, next minute head is down the loo and then i'm fast asleep on my bed. Have asked DH to come home early as am in need of lots of hugs and attention - do know know what is going on with me at the moment! I am definitely growing in size - my backside has grown a life of its own and my profile in the mirror is shocking
I cannot be bothered with anyone, this is so strange for me, just want DH and that's it. Hopefully this is just a temporary phase and fizzles out before work tomorrow - am going to lie down and feel sorry for myself..geeeeh!

bamik · 25/05/2005 15:56

Hi All,

I've had weeks and weeks of feeling absolutley crap, then it was not able to sleep! Even my pillow between the legs started to let me down!

THEN - mum brought me a lavender pillow yesterday and I slept like a little baby last night! I haven't slept like that for months so I am reccommending this to anyone who having probs sleeping. Give it a try! Got mine from Argos for a cheap & cheerful £6.99!

Chacha - sorry to hear that you're feeling crap! It should hopefully wear off soon. I think I was about 13 + 2 when I finally felt human again! The only problem I have now is I break out in tears at the drop of a hat!

Love,

Bami

JenJam · 25/05/2005 16:15

the wait is tearing me apart

OP posts:
ChaCha · 25/05/2005 16:27

Hi Bami - nice to see you
I'm not being funny but the smell of lavendar makes me a bit queasy - it reminds me of old people. Is it that kind of lavendar?

Jenjam - its a matter of hours now no? Hang on in there!

rodeo1 · 25/05/2005 16:31

Oh jenjam, I'm not surprised, you poor things, how long is the wait?

rodeo1 · 25/05/2005 16:37

Chacha, just read your thread, you are definitely not depressed, you have never seemed to be depressed at any time. You're just p*ssed off with the amount of sickness you've had to put up with!! Don't worry, I'm often in my pj's til midday, and more often then not I have a nap mid morning! I'm sure you'll only have a few days left of your sickness, hang on in there babe!

rodeo1 · 25/05/2005 16:56

Busy great idea of your's to include week/days at the end of post, ah If you like the surprises, keep the surprise!! Keep the clothes, just cram them into the bottom of a wardrobe! My wardrobe is packed with old favorite baby/toddler clothes boys stuff and girls stuff - I can't bear to throw them out - good job now with surprise baby no 3, you might get surprise baby no 3 too!

Oh, did you read about the poor lady who just delivered her baby girl at 22 weeks, it's terrible, so sad, I was following the thread over the weekend, really awful news

Really must read everyone's posts first - these staggered posts are no good. But I forget everyone's news by the time I get down here

17 today! x x x

HellKat · 25/05/2005 17:19

Hiya all,
Brief update:
Got sent to the hospital today for a scan. It showed my womb was filled with loads of blood (obviously from the d&c). They're not sure if it's "Retained products" causing it or what. They did a pg test, still positive. Had an internal scan. Showed virtually the same, flowing blood in there etc, but showed a tiny, black blob. The sonographer said this could either be the baby, the placenta and the baby's gone or just an air pocket. They sent me for 1 of 2 blood tests (2nd to be repeated Friday) to test for an ectopic pg. Then we take it from there. Basically they don't know and we don't. Only thing we all know is they have to sort out the bleeding. I don't feel pg (all symptoms have gone) so not getting any hopes up. The blood I'm losing though seems to stem from this "womb retention" rather than a straightforward mc. But, if by a miracle, the baby is there then we have the worry knowing they'll probably have to operate. Totally confused!
Anyone elses head spinning after reading this?
How is everyone?

HellKat · 25/05/2005 17:24

P.S. They did'nt even give me strong painkillers incase I'm still pg.
Ho hum lots of long soaks for me then (and choc )

busyalexsmummy · 25/05/2005 17:45

heelcat-poor you, what a nightmare((((((hugs)))))
I read about a woman in Junier pregnancy+baby mag that had a D+C, went on holiday came back ill and found the baby was still there-it had actually survived the d+c!
when do you get test results back?

BEKsmum · 25/05/2005 18:04

Blimey girls, you go out for the afternoon and the thread goes crazy, I don't know who to start with tonight.

HK sweetheart that left me totally confused so hate to think what state you are in, will keep everything crossed for you that it is good news and that black blob is baby and that all is going to be well, didn't you say you don't normally suffer to much with the early signs before. Keep us up to date as you find out, love to you and the family.

Jenjam hang on in there girl you're doing great and it's another day over so that much nearer to finding out. Again everythings crossed, I'll end up in a permanent knot the way I'm going.

Busy what can I say I think the expression "f**k her and her childish tantrums" relates perfectly well to your bil's girlfriend. You've tried your best with her now leave her to stew in her own juices and make sure you enjoy the wedding no matter what. Also make sure you tell everyone and anyone your happy news and smile like the cat that's got the cream

Great suggestion about the dates by the way I'm well confused as to where everyone is now.

Chacha honey hope you're feeling a bit better this afternoon, you are not going mad and feeling this crap is normal, you may find that you are going to get a massive does of sickness this week because the baby has quite a growth spurt and then hopefully it will ease off quite substantially in the next couple of weeks. Mines lasted till week 15 this time but it is getting better.

Rodeo definitely not going to find out the sex of the baby, I need something to spur me on when I'm pushing like a loony. Did believe that ds was a girl so very shocked when he had extra bits!
Am sure this one is definitely a girl though as a very reliable pyschic has told me that my daughter is in a hurry to be born, she said this three months after ds was born so I've made her wait plenty long enough. And we conceived without even meaning too, very spur of the moment bding.

Bit buggered for names though as have absolutely no idea what I'd call her, whereas for a boy I've got a few more ideas although the name I had picked is starting to irritate me now so it will change by the time rugrat appears.

Feeling very happy today as felt rugrat moving properly for the first time had forgotten what it felt like and had suspicions that I felt it a couple of days ago but was sure today. It eventually made me feel sick!

Going to go now as have an hour off as ds has gone to watch his hero (best friends big brother) play football so have an hour to myself hooray.

Hello to everyone else and speak to you all later

Beks 15+3

ChaCha · 25/05/2005 18:30

Oh Hellkat - thinking of you, really am! Hopefully everything will be just fine

I seem to be the baby of this thread - everyone is so far advanced. Rodeo - 17 weeks! Blimey! What's it like? What's it like? LOL That's almost a whole month ahead of lil ole me!
Thanks for all the support girls - am feeling a little better and have caught up on some work and marking ready for tomorrow - great achievement for me today - am still sporting my PJs though and really hope that the sickness/nausea/crappy feeling leaves me for a while tonight. Do not fancy cleaning any more sick of the walls!!!!
I tried those pelvic exercises but got some really weird feelings in my tummy, like butterflies. Is it really okay during PG?

Okay now, i'm talking too much. I know.

HellKat · 25/05/2005 19:03

Thanks all! Big MWAHHH to everyone for being sweethearts!
Re- pg symptoms. I get them strongly and usually last for ages! With last pg was strong too ( including milk coming back in and heaving at the smell of wet metal lol). They seem to have gone although boobs are still huge.
Busy- What a lovely story! Made me smile. No chance of this pg being the previous though as it had definitely died.
Glad I confused everyone too . Actually bearing up ok. Just freaked out knowing there's all that blood and it'll come out at some point (hopefully during an op though). Only got until Friday 3.30pm (when I ring for the blood results) so not long now.
Good luck Jenjam with your news. Thinking of you.

CADS · 25/05/2005 19:23

Good evening all

It turned into a beautiful day today and I think it is time to bring out the bbq. Ds is fast asleep (thank god) after a pretty grizzly day. Every time I read about what other mothers' have to put up with at 2 and 3 years, I wonder when is it all (nightwakings, tantrums, teething, etc) going to end. And then we have the teen years to contend with. Definitely, not looking forward to those as I was a rebellious teenager. Oops, didn't mean to come of here and moan!

Jenjam - You're almost there. The 20 mins that it took us to get to the hosiptal from my GP surgery felt like an eternity, so I can only imagine what it is like for you. Can only such you keep as busy as you possibly can. Try to have company around to distract you. Also, I find that going to the movies and watching girly movies takes my mind off things. Hang in there.

HK - God you been through hell and back!! Hope things start getting a hell of a lot better for you bl**dy soon. It only feels like yesterday that we all joined this thread and you were trying to get rid of the ants in your kitchen. Thinking of you and hope everything goes well with all the necessary treat you need.

Enthusia - Hope you are taking it easy. Can I such yoga (ante-natal) has a great way of unwinding and learning to relax. Did it during first pregnancy and it was fantastic. Started again last night and really enjoyed it, if anything it was great to get away from dh and ds. It is not all airy fairy, I'm not into all this breathing and mediation stuff.

Chacha - Pelvic floor exercises are not only safe but a must, just make sure you are doing them correctly.

Got to go. Little monster has decided to wake up and scream the house down.

rodeo1 · 25/05/2005 20:16

I'm sure I'm not much different to you chacha, but I bet you've got a lovely slim tum being no 1!! Anyway if you're due date is 26-27 Nov (let's say 26th) then you are doing yourself down and are actually 13+4 and 14 on Sat!! Anyway read today that baby is the size of your open hand and it's little heart pumps 22 litres of blood a day!!

Beks, how lovely you've felt movement! What are your names your considering? Go on spill the beans! I can't think of any boy's names at all! I read all the baby announcements to try and get some ideas, but i'm the most indecisive person ever.

HK, great to hear from you lovey, you always seem to sound positive, even during your shtty shtty times, you are a very strong woman who is an inspiration to many! We all love you!

Just watching some grizzly programme on 5, dolphin murder mystery - all these dolphins are turning up bludgeoned to death. I think I've got a thing about dead marine animals this week! I'll let you know whodunnit later if you're interested (hmmm - no-one!!)

F**KING HELL!! There's a woman on the pg board who's pregnant with QUINS - yes, QUINS!!! 5 babies!!! 5 babies - she's in shock! I'm in shock! Due in December!

HellKat · 25/05/2005 20:44

F H*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just seen that thread Rodeo. OH MY GOD! Poor, Poor woman! Can you imagine how big she'll get! How wonderful aswell! I think she must've been bathing in baby dust as well eating it, breathing it etc!
Thanks Cads. Does seem like not long ago and yes the buggers have diminshed! Hoorah!
Rodeo- Aww hun love ya too! Can't do nowt else than stay positive really. Sometimes I'd love to hide away and be left alone but as you know, and anyone else that has little one's, you can't.
Surprise surprise he's been an angel again through this. Swear he knows. Has had Dp and I in fits all day long. Bless! Just had pics developed of him over the weekend with his little cousin and he looks rather cheeky!

HellKat · 25/05/2005 20:45
