here we go...
Guess in the next one will be the one where we'll be waiting for the first kick! hooray it's the weekend! i haven't had any stretchy stomach feelings, maybe a quiet period pain rumble (!? is that what you mean?) well what a beautiful day i'm lying on sofa under a blanket, laptop on lap and sky baby channel on in background (i've just shed a few tears of happiness for a manchester mum who has just screamed her head off and given birth to a baby boy).

can't remember who asked - cads? re: measurement of c to r . i had one scan at 11+1 babe was 4.5 and another at 12+2 and it measured 6.0 cm.

have good sats jen

Hiya

I am taking a vitiman for PG with folic acid in it, is it ok to carry on, or do I stop that now?

Xena · 20/05/2005 16:44

Enthusia I think that if you are taking a pg supplement then its good to continue, gives you extra iron etc. I was told that taking folic acid has no effect after 12wks so its not really worth it as it affects your bowel movement. With DD1 I took a pg supplement rather than taking iron supp as it was a lower dose than an iron supp (which I had to take with DS) and that also affects the abilty of my bowel to move IYKWIM. HTH

CADS · 20/05/2005 17:26

Xena - It's good to see you on here. Hope you are recovering from D&C ok and taking care of yourself.

bamik · 20/05/2005 17:35

My plan for the weekend is to do as LITTLE AS POSSIBLE!

HellKat · 20/05/2005 18:15

Xena- Great to see you. How are you?
Beks- Cheeky moo! Feel free to nominate me as this weeks' whipping boy! Ohh er sounds a tad kinky if you ask me
Re Folic acid- lol been taking it constantly since January! That's when we first started trying so not too much longer to go now, only another few weeks!
Weekend plans- Dp's sister and little dd are coming down on Sunday. It'll be the first time we've seen her in person! She's only 4 mths younger than our ds2 so sure they'll have great fun.

rodeo1 · 20/05/2005 18:26

Hi girls,

Just in case I don't get to log on later (I'm at work - pants!) HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY SCAN TOMORROW CHACHA!!!!!

Brill to hear about your scan too Sharon!! How lovely! And am I right to say you've lost a week of pregnancy now they've moved your EDD! How cool!

Sounds like a brill night out Beks, I really must do that more often myself!

As for the pregnancy supplements, I'm taking those mums essentials tablets they've got the Omega 3 fatty acids in them, which are important all the way through pregnancy as they 'play an important role in the formation of cells that make up the eye and brain in developing babies' - got that from the info leaflet inside. Also it says that environmental impurities (pesticides, herbicides, etc)are removed during manufacture and well belowregulatory guidelines. So there you go, there's my saleswoman speech out of the way!!

I did try to eat oily fish during my last pg but it turned my stomach to be honest!

Well I painted over all the scribbly marks my creative ds has made over the walls in the past year today (finally!) But not much else to report. Can feel the baby's movements quite alot now - sometimes even when I'm standing up which is really lovely - make's me feel all soppy. Although sometimes he/she really gets me in the bladder!! Esp when I need to go!

Right going to call the children in off the lawn now, got to have a bath and get ready for work - i'm going to tell them the news tonight to - still haven't got round to it, but i'm sure the bump's given it away already

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

rodeo1 · 20/05/2005 18:27

Why didn't that come out in bold, hmph!

hamster · 20/05/2005 18:38

Hi again
Just a quick one to say have a great wkend all.
My dp and me are having a lazy one, that's if ds wants to participate!
Dp wants to go and see "revenge of the sith"....ick,ick,ick-not if I can help it!

Xena, hope you are doing well

Anyway, till Monday, bye bye
xx

BEKsmum · 20/05/2005 20:03

Evening girls just a quickie from me as dh is still at work so I have to ds to bed tonight - not normal routine so we'll see how it goes!!! He also has a wicked cough and cold bless him so going to be up at least once in the night tonight for sure.

Xena how are you sweetheart, I take it everything went ok, hope you're feeling not too bad and getting lots of love and support from everyone.

HK glad to have my bantering partner back I love you really!!!, if the rest of us are anything like me you're the only one that's been up to anything kinky lately. I haven't even got the energy to think about anything more active let alone get down to it, anyway that's what got me in this mess in the first place!!!

Sharon glad to here your scan went so well, you must be really pleased. It's the best thing ever isn't it.

Chacha good luck tomorrow, hope bump gives you a wave and is jumping around for you to see. Make sure you come home and tell us won't you.

Rodeo lucky you at being able to feel bump moving so much I think I can just about feel mine moving if I'm lying down quietly but then again it might just be wind . Hope work take the news well!!!

I am now being serenaded by ds at full volume, he is singing the alphabet into his proper microphone - lovely

Right better go as it really is past his bed time and I'm just trying to get out of reading Dr Seuss.

Have a good weekend all, we're not up to much so I'm sure I'll be on to chat.

busyalexsmummy · 20/05/2005 23:03

found this and found it really intresting, true in my experience with ds and breastfeeding+having had an epidural

Here this

HellKat · 21/05/2005 05:46

Morning all!
Shattered here after spending a few hours trying to get comfy where sciatica's kicking in (really, really early this time around) and back and forth to the loo! See what I mean about this pgs symptoms trebled? But would quite happily spend 9 mths feeling crap if it ensures a healthy babba
Beks- lol at windy belly!!!!!
Ds2 has decided to surface so be back later. Take care all xxx

ChaCha · 21/05/2005 08:23

Good morning all,
Hellkat - you're an early bird this morning, thought I was!!(Suppose mums don't really get lie-ins right?)How are you feeling now? You must be soooooo excited - so happy for you

Busy - I just read what i could of the link you posted and i am truly amazed!! I am going to print it off and keep it for future reading. What did you think of it?

Well, hope everyone is well, happy and enjoying the weekend. Will pop back in the afternoon to report back after scan - wish me luck x

twinkle1 · 21/05/2005 09:05

morning all, have to tell u about the nuchal scan i had at the private hosp last night. It was fantastic!!! was on the machine for 25 min's and it was Jimmys senior obstetrician doing it, he pointed out everything told us lots interesting stuff it was so cool everything looks fine so im really happy he gave us lots of pics of the baby which are really detailed, so much better than my 5 min hosp scan on monday.
well now that i have ranted on a bit how is everyone????

CADS · 21/05/2005 09:58

Hello everyone

What a horrible day. DH has just gone out for breakfast and taken ds with him so I am going to catch up on desperate housewives. Think I will take it easy this weekend. Have quite a few headaches this week and feel rather drained.

Twinkle - sounds like your scan was brilliant. My scan was also rushed and seems like a blur now. At least I get to have a private one at 19 weeks when I am in south africa. It costs £40 and includes a video too. We have a video of ds when I was 28 weeks but it was hard to get a nice view because he was so big. Can't wait.

Chacha - Good luck. And match sure they take their time and don't rush you. Think of loads of questions you can ask them so that you can prolong the scan.

Beksmum - Very of your night out. Haven't be out in weeks. I think last time was in Feb. Need to find a babysitter so how.

Rodeo - Did you tell work? How was it? It is really nerve recking isn't.

Right going to go for now, before I send all my "me time" on this computer.
Catch up later.
X

CADS · 21/05/2005 10:00

Good thing I'm not working anymore because if my ex boss saw my stupid mistakes, she would fire me.

HellKat · 21/05/2005 10:09

Yep Chacha I'm an early bird. Unfortunately get knackered around 1/2pm then need a lie down! Very excited and apprehensive but looking forward to it all the same.
Cads- Feel for you on the headache front. I get really bad ones when I'm pg (makes up for the lack of ms I think). Have had one now for a week and I feel really groggy with it. Fresh air seems to help though.
Ohh Beks I envy your night out too! . We have'nt been out in nearly 2 years!
Rodeo- How did it go at work? God girl you must be knackered!

BEKsmum · 21/05/2005 11:10

Morning all, been lazing around in bed this morning as it's my lay in day but ds has been in the bath and is now running around making lots of noise so I thought I'd better get up.

Twinkle your scan sounds fab, it makes such a difference when they take there time and explain everthing doesn't it.

Cor blimey girls, you need to take your hubbies in hand and tell them they're babysitting and get your girly friends together. It really does make a difference to get out every so often.
I don't get to go out with my hubby very often except when my mum and dad are over from Spain, but the girls try to get out once a month or once every two months at the very most.

Cads know what you mean about the headaches, have you had your blood pressure checked lately? That was the only pointer I had that mine was high so get your mw or practice nurse to check it next week if it doesn't go away after a quiet weekend.

Right better go and show willing I suppose, have a nice day all and I'll speak to you later. Good luck Chacha looking forward to hearing about thescan.

ChaCha · 21/05/2005 13:32

Hi everyone
Just back from the scan. Absolutely fantastic! Am speechless. The midwive who did the scan was amazing, very nice woman. She spent 20mins with us and gave me 5 gorgeous piccies!!!
When i first saw baby have to admit i had tears rolling down my face - it didn't stop moving, both midwives in the room were commenting on how bouncy it was! Got a pic of its fingers in the air and got a wave and a kick too! I'm just so thrilled, sorry if i'm going on! Tell me to shut-up...
It kept moving its jaws and eventually decided to turn over completely!!! Midwive tried to get it from another angle but think it had had enough...what a fantastic day....awww..am all emotional.

Best go before i bore the pants of you all. The CRL at 12+5 is 63mm (normal?)

Thanks for sharing! xxx

ChaCha · 21/05/2005 13:34

Oh forgot to mention - EDD is back to 26-27th November!

rodeo1 · 21/05/2005 14:11

oh brillo, you're a Nov girl again chacha!! So glad you had a lovely scan - wonder if you're having a boy with all that bouncing around??!

Busy am about to read your thing in a min, although i've got fishfingers in the oven s i'll try not to gat too engrossed

What's everyone up to this weekend?

Told work last night, well boss and best work mate and they where really pleased. My boss had wondered why my end of shift drink has changed from stella to grapefruit and lemonade though!

Have a lovely weekend, dp works until 3 on a sat so waiting for him to come home, might take children to local chicken farm later so see the animals and collect some eggs for tomorrow's breakfast, will have to put a peg on my nose though as large numbers of chickens really stink!!

CADS · 21/05/2005 14:19

Chacha - Sounds fantastic. So happy for you. Mine's CRL was 5.86mm at 12+3, I was told the length was normal for the date, so I assume yours is normal too.

Beksmum - I was wondering about that. Didn't have a problem with blood pressure last time but you never know. I have an appt with mw on tues so it will be checked then. I think it should be ok, it feels more like a tension headache and my shoulders ache too. Have a full body massage booked for next saturday which should sort it out.

Does anyone know where you can go to get your blood pressure measure as and when you want? Do Boots or chemists offer this service? I think I need to keep I close watch this time round and I'm not happy about just getting it done every 8wks at mw appt.

Going to shower, yes disgusting, I know. Then going to take ds out to a play centre or something to burn off some energy (him not me).

rodeo1 · 21/05/2005 14:38

Seeing as chacha has shared her lovely news thought i'd share mine, I've just had the most gorgeous lunch - Fishfingers (the battered variety not breadcrumbed) between 2 slices of white bread, with tomato ketchup and vinegar - they were just divine!!! Followed by a massive glug of milk (which I don't seem to be able to stop swigging at the mo). Ooooh must go one of the children doesn't seem to have totally finished theirs off!!

Enthusia · 21/05/2005 15:00

ChaCha - Glad your scan went well, it is amazing isn't it. Makes up for all thr rough days!!!

I am having a BAD day today and need some advice. This morning I was violently sick(for the first time in ages), and lets just say it was not easy, very dry sorry if TMI. Anyway after this I noticed that I had what looked like a rash appearing on my neck and around my eyes. On closer inspection it looks as if my small blood vessels have burst in these areas causing little spots, like on a love bite or deep brusie. Anyway these are all over my neck, all around my eyes and on my nose a little. I do not know if it was through the pressure of being sick or what. I went and saw a pharmacist who said that I should have my blood pressure checked and I said would it wait to Monday and she thought that it would be fine. Has anyone else had or heard of anything similar or have any advice. I am so tired and emotional today as well and I really need some advice. Help please! I look very weird now as well!

HellKat · 21/05/2005 15:44

Enthusia- My dp and ds2 get those little spots/rash. Dp gets them around nose, eys and neck if he's sick and ds2 gets them really badly around his eyes if he's had a major crying fit. Get them checked out though to put your mind at ease.
Chacha- Congrats on the scan! Sounds wonderful!
Rodeo- Yummmyyy! Having tacos here soon! (going to get shocking heartburn with the amount of jalepeno peppers I chuck on mine ).

HellKat · 21/05/2005 15:59

*eyes for goodness sake lol
