Due Feb 2010

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Hello again, & welcome to all the new peeps!

Jules - doctor's was fine except DS burst out screaming as soon as he shut the door, not sure if it reminded him of having his jabs or he was just not himself (he's full of cold!). It was a new doc but he was nice enough and quite upbeat - didn't really do anything except take blood pressure and give me the pack of forms etc, but he has arranged for the mw to get in touch so that's the main thing.

Parents were happy to be told but we haven't told anyone else yet, I'd like to tell MIL in a way but think she would have trouble keeping it quiet as she is very sociable!

Still feeling fine really, a bit tired and very achy boobs but otherwise nearly normal...

Geekylass, it's probably worth seeing your GP soon as some places seem to get quite booked up for mw appointments and scans - so if you get your name down early, you are more likely to get those at the right time.

applesaretheonlyfruit · 13/06/2009 21:12

We had a lovely day. I took both children to Westminster Pier, caught a cruiser to Kew, then went to Richmond Park.. Because this pregnancy is so early it wasn't until we got on the cruiser, and it lurched in the water, that I remembered that I might feel a bit sick. Luckily lots of fresh air and staying on deck helped!

DS very happy and very tired. Makes a change from Battersea Park (and the dogs and the crowds and the balls flying everywhere and the horrible smell of the hotdog van). Must remember to go and live in Richmond when I win the lottery.

applesaretheonlyfruit · 13/06/2009 21:18

Must be pregnant though, because it is Saturday night, 9.17pm, and I am going to bed. With Ovaltine.

makingafamily · 13/06/2009 21:24

hashahahaha apples I'm thinking the same thing. Was supposed to be going out with my DW tonight for our 4 year annoiverasy but too shattered although we had a lovely day at Borough Market We got veggie's, chutneys, bread, muffins and some amazing onions pickled in balsamic vinegar (oh, and we got some fab fruit beers but am going to wait til we are past the 12 week mark before i have one)

Hows everyone doing?

Doctorskidaddle · 13/06/2009 23:00

can't believe how many people are already on this thread! can I join too? Just tested today and got BFP - think I'm due 20th Feb. Have a DD (3.8) and DS (18 months) so am completely bricking it slightly worried about having 3 under 5... reassuring to see some others mums-of-three-to-be though

Right off to read the whole thread from start to finish...

Ruby01 · 14/06/2009 21:37

I am suffering with hayfever and have been told by docs that i cannot take anthing for this. Can anyone tell me if I can use vicks/olbas oil to help with the stuffy nose at night.

MintChocAddict · 14/06/2009 22:24

Hi all,

Can I tentatively join please?

BFP this morning and although test line was fainter than control was still definitely there. Going to test again in a couple of days and hopefully get a darker line.

Have done the calculator thingy and seems to give due date of 23rd Feb.

Have no symptoms at all but was same with DS. So much so that we didn't find out until I was 8 weeks. DS is 2.6 and arrived 6 weeks early.

Congratulations to everyone else and hope you're all feeling well.

twoplusone · 15/06/2009 07:57

Congratulations to the newbies.. Hope everyone is feeling fine..

I am just so tired and no motivation to do anything at all.. Hoping i feel better in a few weeks as DH is ggoing away on the 29th June till the 30th July he should be home weekends though.. he is a bit gutted as he is going to miss the first scan. just like he did with DS2.
DH was shocked yesterday when he was making bacon sandwiches for breakfast and i refused the he came near me with his and I had to tell him tio go away the smell was repulsive.. and I LOVE bacon sarnies..lol atleast that means i dont have to cook them anymore lol..
Right of to tackle the house, and play with DS2.
Have a good day everyone.x

becks130 · 15/06/2009 09:02

Hi All,

Congratulations everybody

Can I please join?? I have no idea when I am due but I think it will be Feb. I am a nervous wreck at the moment, I had a MMC only 8 weeks ago so have no idea what my dates are.

Is anybody feeling any symptoms yet??

Bettymum · 15/06/2009 09:19

Hello becks130 and all the other new people!
Ruby01 sadly you might have to suffer...although I don't see why you couldn't put Olbas oil on a tissue at night. I've had one summer where I couldn't take anything because I was pregnant, and a second summer where I couldn't take anything because I was BFing...now it looks like a third summer of not taking anything because I'm pg again! I had a bad weekend as it was so hot, my eyes are super puffy this morning.
I've had quite a lot of brown bleeding yesterday and this morning, have got the midwife appointment on Wednesday so I guess I'll have to hold on till then. Finding it very hard to concentrate on work though .

motherof2boys · 15/06/2009 09:56

It's good to find you.

I think I'm due 4 Feb. Have 2 boys (hence nickname) aged 5 and 7 and they are cracking kids.

Was having another boy who died at 19 weeks at end of March 2009. Barrage of tests showed no 'reasons' for this. We have strong faith and believe that all will be clear in the end. Some things are simply out of our control.

Can't really believe that it's all happening again and that it will happen this time! Trying to be positive so good to find you all.
Does anyone else with other children every worry about messing their lives up by having extra child (which might die (see above) or be really ill or simply cause them to have less good times and attention and have a sick and grumpy mum all summer)? When really having a baby sibling will be the best ever?

Why can't I trust that all will be well?!!!?See above re control!

twoplusone · 15/06/2009 10:40

hi becks and other of 2boys, congratulations.
Mother of2boys.. sorry to hee about your son. I cant even begin to understand how you feel re things being out of control but i do beleive that this is ttrue.. touch wood nothing has happened to any of my children like that. i do worry what an impact me having this baby will have on the other cchildren..
DD cried when we told her as she didnt want me to have anymore and as DHhad had the snip 2 days before we found out she was under theillusion that she wouldnt have anymore brothers or sisters.

DS1 is a live wire and constantly fighting for attention with thwe other two.. which i dont understand as he is by no means never ignored..

DS2 as he is the baby and still refered to as babylee he hates me holiding any other children if i am cuddling the other children I have to either put him on my lap too or as i have been doing latley trying to tell him it will be his turn soon. He is so used to it just being me and hm everyday whilst the others are at school, I think he will feel it most..
And he is very much a mummies boy as since he was born DH has been away so much last year he was home for 8 weeks!!.

My main worry is if DH deploys again how will I cope.. I know I will but it does worry me .. not that much though obviously just in the back of my mind..

Is anyone else feeling ratty and hormonal.. I am like a time bomb at the moment.. and cry over things really easily..

Got some news yesterday which upset me my brother who is 22 is in Afghan on his first deployment only been in the army 6months, has been injured.. luckily only cuts and bruises.. but his platoon commander was killed.. If my brother had been a little closer or one person behind it would have been him!!! It was bad enough last year when my DH was out there.. but with it being my baby brother.... I just thank my lucky starts that he is ok..

Sorry for waughling on....

Ruby01 · 15/06/2009 11:22

Bettymum its awful- i have been wiping my nose so much I now have coldsores and apparently I cant take anything for them either!! Attractive right now i am not!

Please do not worry too much about the brown bleeding(i know thats easier said than done) but fingers crossed it wont be anything - Wednesday is nearly here than you mind will be put at ease.

motherof2boys · 15/06/2009 12:26

Ruby01 - In my gardeners world mag (!) there is an advert for 'HayMax drug free pollen barrier balm' 'suitable for children and pregnant women' 01525 406 600 www.haymax.biz.

I have no idea what it does but you might investigate. Good luck. I suffer a lot with the nasal too - sorry for you.

twoplusone - yes ratty and hormonal - and the news about your brother is going to be affected by that. Like I said - some things are outside our control and there is a reason for everything - perhaps this type of trauma makes us appreciate what we have and want to make more of our time and to seek some more meaning. Thinking of you. You sound like supermum.

flyingcloud · 16/06/2009 07:12

Morning everyone, hope you are all well.
Hayfever sufferers - don't know if it really works but eating locally-produced honey is supposed to help.

Bettymum, I've had a bit of brown bleeding too, although really very little. I've got a scan tomorrow as a result and I'm seven weeks today. I think it's relatively commonplace but you need to watch out for associated pain. I hope everything is ok and good luck with the midwife.

Anyone else find that productivity at work has fallen greatly?!! It's so hard to think about anything else right now, what with scares, worries and the fact that it's the evil first trimester. Every ache, pain or creak makes me stop and think 'what the hell was that? Is it coming back? How bad was that? Should I worry about it?' Our doctor was quite adamanant (sp?) that we don't tell anyone until the first trimester is finished as she said that being first timers it's easy to get carried away but it's still v.v. early days - that's not meant to put the dampners on anyone's excitement but my take on it now is to try to be as blasé as possible about the whole thing. The onset of non-stop nausea and constant sleepiness and fatigue in the last three days has made it all rather less exciting although I am thrilled, following the bleed, to finally have some symptoms!

Have a lovely day everyone, hopefully I will achieve something at work today (I work from home so I need extra motivation!)

xxx

ktpie · 16/06/2009 09:03

Morning everyone, had a busy weekend and spent all day yesterday totally shattered, recovered slightly today!
Hope everyone is feeling well this morning!

becks130 · 16/06/2009 09:09

Morning all,

I hope we're all going to enjoy the sunshine today

I spoke to my Dr yesterday who has been very positive so that has made me feel better. He is arranging a dating scan for next week as I have no idea how far along I am as I didn't have period after the mmc.

I have been feeling a little tired and had a little nausea but not too much yet, but I'm sure that will come soon!

I hope everyone has a nice day

Ruby01 · 16/06/2009 12:30

motherof2 - thanks for that will have a look

Doctorskidaddle · 16/06/2009 16:34

Hi all,

just adding myself in...

flyingcloud - yes my productivity is ridiculously low - just because I find myself constantly drifting off to imagining what my baby will look like and what we should call him/her etc

good advice about not telling too many people but it's hard to keep it to yourself isn't it? I have so-far told SIX friends but they are all people I would want to talk to if I did lose it. My ILs are staying atm and it is hard not to say anything and pretend to sip red wine...

becks - really sorry to hear about your MMC but great your GP is being supportive

ruby - poor you - sounds miserable. I took a load of lemsip last time I was pg not realising I wasn;t allowed to - thankfully it didn;t do DS any harm. It is annoying how many things we're not allowed to do though, isn't it?

hello everyone else - it is hard to keep up with so many people!

Hey ladies

Glad to here i'm not the only one's who productivity has diminished at work, part of my problem is my memory appears to have turned to mush and the other part of the problem is that i spend half the day looking at baby clothes

Hows everyone doing?

preggybear · 16/06/2009 19:09

Bettymum & flyingcloud

I've had bleeding, mostly brown blood but some times redder. Had a scan last Thursday in the local E.P.A.U and there was a heartbeat. Still really worried about something going wrong. as I'm higher risk because onf having PCOS. I wish I could curl up in a ball for the next 5 weeks.

devotion · 16/06/2009 20:04

motherof2boys - welcome and so sorry to hear you lost your little boy. my sister lost her baby same month this year too, it was the day before her 20 week scan was due. Again they said there was no reason and that nature can be cruel sometimes. She does already have a lovely son so she wants to wait awhile before trying.
I thought it would be good if she tried now so was pregnant when her due date came around but she does not feel ready just yet.
Anyway, try not and not worry because you have two healthy boys and you are going to have another healthy baby I hope as your pregnancy progresses you get to enjoy it and relax.

Welcome to all the other new mummies!!!

Same here, I can not concentrate and starting to wish we had waited one more month (not really) because my hand in date for 6 assignments is next Monday and I am only half way there - yikes!

I feel SICK SICK SICK and sick of feeling sick!

I know as soon as it stops I will start to worry - so silly! Us women are hard to please!

I'm only 7 weeks today and my jeans are starting to feel tight and my tummy is popping out. It looks like i've been eating too many pies. This is the part where you look like you've put weight on but you dont look pregnant.

Is everyone who is feeling sick eating nonstop? Its the only time I feel okish is when I'm eating although I've gone off flavours and need plain food only otherwise i taste the flavours for hours after and feel sick.

Bettymum, preggybear and flyingcloud - i'm sure all is well and if theres no pain like you know then its a very common normal symptom. but i do understand how you feel and seeing their little heart on the screen will be the only thing to make you relax.
come on scan dates!!!!!!!!!
sending hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
