Due Feb 2010

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Scan went really well.. one baby goodheart beat.. measured two days less so am due the 14th now. I haveanither scan in just iver a week on the 3rd August then another one booked for the 8th Sept.. Things seem alot more real to me now I am going to change my name to threeplusone now..

Pops78 · 24/07/2009 16:26

Nice one, so pleased for you threeplusone. Just counting down the days to mine on Tues and hopefully same relief you have.

CaractacusPotty · 24/07/2009 17:43

Pleased to hear that, threeplusone . IKWYM about reality. My scan yesterday was right beside the ward where I spent so much time before and after the dses births. You suddenly realise you're not just pg, you're having a baby if that makes sense!

motherof2boys · 24/07/2009 20:13

that's good news 3+1.

my stressful scan took well over an hour as baby was so lively ! they had to get extra operator in....

and all seems well. I have told my dss and they are so excited. It all seems real and a couple of drs said we had to separate loss of prev pg from this pg as really no reasonwhy this one should not and will not work out.

flying cloud and pops - I think you are just different after you've had a baby. You see your body differently.

going offline for a bit. But wishing you all well.

chinook · 24/07/2009 20:49

Congratulations to everyone who has had good scans this week. Hope we have lots more of them in the next few weeks.

I am going to cautiously say that my nausea seems to be a bit better. I am trying not to worry about that as I have other symptoms aplenty. My sense of smell is just ridiculous. I can walk down the street and identify what most people are cooking for dinner. But the worst is the smell of my own bedroom. Everything is new, the bed, pillows, duvet etc yet just one day after I have washed the linen they smell awful to me. Like when you would visit a boys room (in the good old days!) in halls in uni and be knocked out by the stale smell. I don't remember reading about this in any of my pregnancy books....

becks130 · 25/07/2009 10:04

Morning all,

Congratulations on all the positive scans, I have another 2 weeks till I have one. I have my booking appointment today so I may ask if she can hear a hearbeat yet, only worry is if they can't as it's too early it might make me worry even more.

I had about a week of MS free but today I woke up and felt awful again for abut 2 hours, but it seems to have eased now which is lucky as I have a VERY busy day, I am going to view a house and have my booking appointment and then going to see a show tonight and shopping in between

About feeling sexy, I didn't for a long time as I put on a HUGE amount of weight as I suffered from SPD so I was unable to even walk for most of my previous pregnancy I lost 3 stone last year as I was getting married and it made me feel much better.

I hope MS is starting to ease for most now, have a lovely day.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 26/07/2009 09:41

morining all, how is everyone today?

ktpie · 26/07/2009 09:42

Morning everyone,

Sorry I've been a bit quiet on here, have been feeling a bit nervous about everything and waiting until my scan next week before I start to relax, but I think I can feel the baby moving so feeling a bit better about it all.

Re libido, mine has totally gone again now I'm pregnant, last time I had a big bleed post sex at about 20 weeks, everything was OK but it shook me up a lot and I'm nervous again this time round.
Weight wise though I was pretty lucky, felt massive at the end of pregnancy but it all seemed to go pretty quick. My appetite went from constantly ravenous while pregnant to back to normal as soon as I'd had him, which helped, and I guess breastfeeding helps as well, especiallly when you have a very hungry baby!
The stretch marks however are another story!

Hope you are all getting on well and not feeling too bad, good luck with your scans.

Pops78 · 26/07/2009 10:26

Wow feeling the baby move, that's amazing. I still have terrible ms but no bump and convinced something will be wrong at scan but know I am being silly. Got to spend next 4 hrs cleaning house as friends with baby coming 4 lunch/BBQ. Really don't want to get out of bed even BBQ to me is gross.
I already have some little stretch marks from being bit bigger so hope that doesn't mean I am particularly prone seen some awful ones all over bellies.

flyingcloud · 26/07/2009 11:14

Thanks everyone for your reassurance - I feel a little bit like a hormonal teenager at times - completely irrational and unreasonable.

I'm required to wear very smart clothes at least four times a week when I leave my home office and it doesn't help that the ones that fit me are becoming fewer and fewer and trips to the drycleaners more and more frequent. I'm dreading winter as I have lots of lovely dresses but not very many smart winter clothes and I'm pretty sure that none of my smart coats will see me through to the birth (as I need to be smart and warm as I work outside a lot of the time).

Have driven about 1800 miles since last Saturday and last night I was so tired that I felt physically ill. I fell asleep on the sofa at 7.30 and slept for two hours before going to bed.

Mostly though I am feeling much better, my appetite has disappeared and I now have to force myself to eat and I am generally less tired.

Scan tomorrow - incredibly apprehensive. What actually happens in the scan? What are they looking for? I have had an early scan which gave me a date. Can they discern potential problems at the 12 week scan? If all is ok I am going to tell my boss on Tuesday (he will NOT be happy) and then everyone else who doesn't know so I feel like tomorrow is the day if I find out if I'm really having a baby or not as it will become official (hopefully) - even though I have had a scan, constant nausea and tiredness and a growing belly to prove it.

Can you really feel stuff this early? I had what felt like violent butterflies in my tummy the other night, but thought it was my nausea combined with indigestion taking on a new form!

ktpie · 26/07/2009 11:29

Pops - my tummy resembled a tiger with DS, they have faded a fair bit now, plus the stretch marks were really itchy at the end, but it was July and hot, hoping a February baby will avoid the itchiness.

I'm fairly sure it is baby movements I'm feeling, that kind of pressure as though they are stretching right out in there! With DS I felt the movements a lot later, or at least what I was sure were baby movements. I think now I know what it feels like so it's easier to recognise.

Flyingcloud - if I remember correctly they really just take some measurements to check the dates, the scan where they check everything for abnormalities is at 20 weeks. I guess if they spotted anything major they would say. The worst thing is needing the loo throughout the scan! Oh yeah and of course they check to see how many are in there! Good luck with the scan.

QueenofVenus · 26/07/2009 15:15

Hello, can i join? My due date is 18th Feb but i have to have a c-section so im already booked in - 10 days early, 8th of feb is d-day!

becks130 · 26/07/2009 18:58

Welcome and congratulations to QueenofVenus

I had my booking appointment yesterday and the midwife was lovely and really put my mind at ease.

My MS has returned and I have felt terrible for the past 2 days, not only have I had MS but I have had horrendous headaches for the past 3 days has anyone else suffered from headaches??

RE stretch marks, I had very bad stretch marks with DS, so bad that they used to bleed! My midwife always told me that it depends on your type of skin and there's not much you can do about stretch marks.

BobbieRainbow · 26/07/2009 19:25

Becks - I had headaches with 3rd pregnancy, they lasted all day - everyday, then disappeared at about 12/13 weeks, very strange, I always wondered if they were caused by all the MS retching?! I just winced at your bleeding stetchmarks. I don't have any on my belly, but plenty on my boobs and thighs.

Congrats to those who have had their first scans.

devotion · 26/07/2009 22:52

flyingcloud - enjoy your scan tomorrow, exciting!

they usually point out all the organs to you, take measurements, measure fluid behind the neck for downs etc.

i am absolutely shattered, went to a fantastic wedding yesterday. It started at 12.45pm and finished at 11.30pm and I hardly sat down. Danced most of the night or walked about talking to friends that I have not seen for AGES!

Had a great time, to get me through the day I had cup of tea (which i rarely drink now as it makes me sick), cup of coffee (which i have not drank for 10 weeks) and glass of coke (which i never drink) - i was buzzing and felt like i had a poker up my ass but it kept up upright and I lasted. Normally I would need a sleep or lie down at some part of the day or evening.

So sorry little baby for all that caffiene, bet he or she was doing somersaults

But today I had to keep getting back into bed, felt so wrecked. I am normally always on the go. Its quite shocking to realise how weak I am now. Bit depressing especially as I felt the fittest ever in my life back in April when i did the marathon.

But I guess making a baby is a tiring job on your body and I need to just go with it and rest when I can. So a day partying is not good for you... but it was one off.

Ms still here strong - so annoying!!!

Anyway hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Take care
x

mawbroon · 27/07/2009 07:58

I am finally starting to feel a bit pg now. I am 9wks today and feel wiped out all the time. I was in bed at 9pm last night, despite DH taking ds so I could lie in until 10am.

My boobs are humungous. I think I will have to get some more bras. I feel like I am engorged between ds's feeds, except my boobs are soft and he takes so little milk that I can't possibly be, so I think it is just the extra weight. When I take my bra off at night, they feel like lead weights!!

I never actually puked when I was pg with ds, but did a lot of wretching which was always triggered by the same things. Yesterday, I opened a banana for ds and the smell made me wretch, so I guess that's bananas off the menu for a while!! I was starving the whole time with ds, but this time I am kind of off my food a bit, which is not like me at all!!! I sometimes struggle to find something that I actually want to eat and it seems to swing from fruit one minute to chips and grease the next! If I can steer clear of the chips and grease then I might not balloon like I did with ds.

Re stretch marks, I thought I was doing great before, until dh pointed out that all the stretch marks were under my bump where I couldn't see them in the mirror. It looked like a road map!! but most of them have faded. Not that I ever wear a bikini or anything, so I am not really bothered.

I hope everyone is doing ok.

threeplusone · 27/07/2009 08:41

Congratulations and welcome Queenofvenus.

Glad the booking in went well becks.

Flyingcloud, goodluck for your scan today xx

Mawbroon, glad you are eventually feeling pg.x

Devotion- glad you enjoyed the wedding

Really tired this morning but DS2 is poorly, we rushed him up tot the doctors yesterday and he prescribed some antibiotics, but last night his temp wouldnt go down, the lowest I got it too was 37.8. he also threw up about 5mins after the antibs.. not sure if this was coughing induced or the antibs, as I gave him half a dose after he was sick and he threw up again, but not again after that .. he couldnt sleep bless him and eventually drifted of at about 4am.
Hoping he has a good sleep today as he seems alot perkier than he has been. Also hoping the DD hasnt made plans so she can help with DS1 if DS2 goes to sleep so I can doze.

One week to go till I get to see the baba again. My DH wants us to start calling the baby BOB...

Ruby01 · 27/07/2009 10:44

Hello All

its been a while since I posted- I have been so distrcted with doing things in the house and telling everyone about my pregnancy in RL that I have not had the time.

I had my scan on the 14th and all was well due date has changed from 9th to 5th!

I agree with all the other posts regarding the extreme fatigue. I am usually so busy at work and home but can get in from work and crawl into bed at 6 and not get up till the next morning!

I dont know how I would manage if i had LO demading my time right now, huge respect to those who are in that situation.

I am so grateful that I am not suffering any sickness or cravings at all, I just cant allow myself to get too hungry.

I guess my worst symptoms are breathlessness, I can get out of breath climbing a couple of sets of stairs. The other one is that my feet (and my hands to an extent) are swelling loads already. Its so awful to look at (have a thing about feet already) and just so uncomfortable- im only 12 and a bit weeks I have months of this ahead.

Ok its been all about me, I am reading all your posts and hope you all keep well

becks130 · 27/07/2009 12:19

Hi,

I'm feeling a lot better today apart from the dreaded thrush I had to go to the Dr to get something for it. I spoke to her about my dreadful headaches and she is sure it is stress related so checked for a heatbeat to put my mind at rest, and she found it It has really reassured me and hopefully it will sort these headaches out.

How is everyone else feeling today, Devotion have you got over the wedding yet??

Pops78 · 27/07/2009 14:28

Hi,

I feel yuck today and have to go get my blood results in half an hour,. I don't want to leave house and go on horible tube where I might throw up over everyone and pick up swine flu along the way... Didn't really think too much about the blood results and suddenly thought oooh could they find something. Got the scan tomorrow so have to go all way back then but at least will be with my fiance, very nervous about that I must say, hoping all will be well.

Becks - glad they found heartbeat for you, so nice.

flyingcloud · 27/07/2009 17:26

Am travelling so very briefly... Scan went well! We're having a baby!! Sorry for the text speak. Hope everyone well today.

MusicalMummyJules · 27/07/2009 19:57

Hey All

How is everyone doing this evening? Hope everyone is feeling well.

Finally got my scan date which is this Friday, I am also seeing the consultant as I had to have a c-section with DD (now 6). DD will be coming with us for the scan, I'm going to see if her and DP can stay behind the curtain till we all get the all clear from the sonographer (?) that things are okay and then let her have a look - do you think this will be okay? Wondering if any of your children are coming to the scan?

Jules

Pops78 · 28/07/2009 10:02

Congrats verylittlecarrot, so pleased for you.

Chinook - fingers crossed for us both today at scans, am really nervous and just want to be there and told all well I hope.

Got blood results yesterday and all well. It was the same MW who said she wouldn't listen for heartbeat 10 days ago because you couldn't hear till 16 weeks. I told her that Dr found heartbeat last week and she actually turned round and said 'It was probably your heartbeat, he got it wrong'. Well frankly that was insulting to me because even I know the difference between 85BPM and 140BPM but to imply the Dr didn't was just ridiculous. What a silly and preposterous woman!
