Due Feb 2010

Gidders · 22/05/2009 16:52

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Really really sorry to hear your news, Apples. Just off out so this is short, but didn't want to read and run. Sounds like you can more than justify the car with 2 already-don't think twice about it. Thoughts are with you. xx

I'm so sorry to hear your news Apples, good luck for the future and let Dh take care of you. I found having my DS around me all the time when I mc really helped, it helped me focus on what I had and not what I had lost. keep us updated and just to let you know I feel preggers again only 1 month after.

I hope your DS has a lovely party xxx

watercress · 15/07/2009 12:04

Apples, so sorry to hear your news. Fingers crossed this MC is OK for you physically, and you don't need any medical intervention.

Do take care of yourself and keep us posted as to any future developments.

lol x

Evening all,

Just wanted to drop in and see how everyone is, I know when someone has MC it can be hard for everyone to think of much else

I have my reassurence scan on Friday morning so I am starting to feel very nervous, I don't think I will be at ease until this baby is born.

I hope everyone is ok.

chinook · 15/07/2009 20:24

I am very sorry to hear about your scan Apples. I know all too well what you are going through right now and I wish it didn't have to happen to any of us.

Found out today my 12 week scan is on 28th July and am nervous and excited in equal measures.

After two days of tolerable symptoms I am back to being shattered and sick as a dog today! Although in the last 2 days I have had cuddles with a 5 day old and an 8 week old, which is an excellent reminder that it is all worth it in the end.

CaractacusPotty · 15/07/2009 20:45

Apples, I'm so sorry to hear your news. We'll all be thinking of you. Good luck for the future, and hope you can pop by with good news soon x

Didn't have the world's best scan here either. I'm 8+1 by dates - which I'm pretty sure of because I know when it, ahem, occured. But she couldn't find the baby at all on scan, started muttering about ectopics and did an internal (yum), where she did find the baby but measured it at only 6-7 weeks. Well since my MS started on day 21 of my cycle, if I am 6 weeks then MS started BEFORE I conceived . But she did specifically mention that the heartbeat looked strong, so all we can do is wait another couple of weeks and hope it's grown appropriately by then. I sure as hell feel sick enough for things to be ok (and am mightily pissed off at dates being put back because that means I've got more of the MS to go...)

MusicalMummyJules · 15/07/2009 21:48

So sorry to hear people's news about miscarriages - it's such a sad time for you all, my thoughts are with you.

I have got my midwife appointment on Tuesday and still waiting for my scan date, apparently my doctor didn't refer me like she promised and has now gone on maternity leave herself so I've got to wait for another doctor to do so - I wish they would hurry up, I'm so impatient!

Other news - DP and I have decided to book a weekend break away to bath where we can visit the thermal spa - has anyone been and if so, do you know if they do pregnancy treatments, I can't see it on their website. We're also looking for a nice hotel nearby so if anyone has any good ideas please do let me know. I think it will be our last weekend away for about 7 years as we don't have much support, so want to make the most of it!

Is anyone going to the babyshow in Earls Court in October? I've just managed to persuade DP to go, begrudgingly!

devotion · 15/07/2009 22:39

MusicalMummyJules - room for another? i need a break

i might go to the babyshow so maybe nearer the time we should see if how many of us are going on which days and then see if we can meet for a quick tea between the shopping.

i have been three times already and always manage to be offered free tickets from one friend or another. one of my friends usually has a stall there.

devotion · 15/07/2009 22:44

Apples - I am so sorry to hear that
Its so unfair that you have had to go through this again!

Your body has carried two babies all the way before so it will do it again. You know you will!

So your new car is still needed because you will be filling a big gap in there soon. There are a few mums on here (i'm sure i read) who are now pregnant quite soon after a mc. I think its a good idea to start ttc straight away if you feel ready.

Take care, get LOTS of tlc and rest. You've been through alot and need to build your strength back up physcially and mentally.

Thinking of you x

Insanitybecomesme · 16/07/2009 08:52

Sorry to hear your news Appleswishing positive vibes for the future.

I have to wait till I see the midwife on the 29th to arrange a scan so by the time I have a scan will be about 12 weeks at least, which seems a very long wait right now. I am so tired at the moment that come 9pm I am ready for bed, I hope I get some energy back soon!!

Pops78 · 16/07/2009 09:27

Great news preggybear, so happy for you.

Chinook - our scans are on the same day, I am counting down the days.

Totally plan if all goes well to go to babyshow in Oct, would be cool to meet up.

I felt so much more normal yesterday, even ran around house with new energy tidying. Thought I was on other side of MS (at same time getting paro something wrong of course). Then this morning feel rough again... not as bad though...

thesoo · 16/07/2009 10:23

Hello Apples, very sorry to hear your news, I hope you have lots of support around and millions of cuddles to help you through xx

My MS is, hellish, quite frankly. I have been retching for Scotland, throwing up blood, having to stop the car at the side of the road on the way from work to throw up in a bag etc. Went to the doc last week who signed me off work for two weeks. Luckily DH is on hol and entertaining dd.

Have also had terrible twitching in my eyelinds and tingling in my legs since the ms started. Is anyone else having this?

Dr reckons anxiety, hope so, have to stop entertaining thoughts that it could be something worse, which is only adding to stress aaaaarggghh.

Hope everyone is well on this sunny morning xx

watercress · 16/07/2009 10:48

Caractus, sorry you had mixed news but it sounds positive in the end.

Thesoo, throwing up blood does not sound good. Did your GP say anything about that? The twicthing and tingling could be due to a slight calcium deficiency so try and make sure you have plenty of milk/yogurt/cheese - if you can stomach them - and hopefully it will get better.

And sorry to all those suffering with MS.

Slight trauma/amusement in the watercress camp is that someone in my office has swine flu so all "high risk" people have been told to work from home until further notice. Personally I'm not overly worried (I work in health so have access to lots of relevant info), but as only a few of us are high risk, I'm pretty sure my pregnancy is now well known among my colleagues. I really would have preferred to wait until after my scan, but never mind.

Know swine flu has been done to death on MN, but I promise I'm not whinging and am just interested to hear if many people are being told to stay away from their workplace?

chamoiscreased · 16/07/2009 11:34

Caractacus I'm in a similar situation. Awaiting another scan on Monday as there was no heartbeat at the last one 2 weeks ago. Dr says it could be that my dates are out - if they're as out as he suggests then I managed to get a BFP just 24 hours after conception - or I conceived after the BFP
Watercress, am being told to stay away from work here, doesn't matter as I'm off sick with the violent ms anyway
Thesoo I can sympathise. I thought my eyes were going to fall out of my head yesterday I was vomiting so violently (tmi?!)
Am also planning to go to babyshow if we get that far.

becks130 · 16/07/2009 12:13

sorry to hear about your scan caractus, seeing a heartbeat is a very good sign so try and stay positive, I know it's easier said than done.

My MS has eased alot in the past couple of days but this happened last week, I had 3 days of feeling 'normal' and then it came back worse for 1 day so maybe tomorrow will be an awful day

I have my scan in the morning so feeling very nervous today, just can't wait to get it over and done with, then only 3 weeks til the 12 week mark, yay!

I think I will probably go to the baby show, should start saving now!

thesoo · 16/07/2009 13:22

Hi Watercress,

I actually phoned NHS 24 about the blood because it happened at the weekend. The nurse said she sees this quite a lot in ms. Apparently, excessive retching can cause the blood vessels at the back of the mouth/top of the throat to burst.
Scary looking but not too serious, as long as the blood quantities are low, colour is bright red and there are no clots or anything.

Hope the swine flu thing is not too worrying for you, working from home must be a bit of a blessing though? I am off sick with the ms anyway but as the job I am in involves close contact with memebers of the public, quite a few of my colleagues are angling for working from home too All pleas have fallen on deaf ears so far though!

Pops78 · 16/07/2009 19:42

Any views on drinking Guiness? I am abstaining from all alcohol at the mo though frankly don't even fancy it cos of MS. My fiance is Irish and insists all pg women over there drink a bit of Guiness while pg and breast feeding because it's supposed to be good for them - within reason. I just had 1/4 of a glass and it went down nicely. Prob old wives tale silliness... but read a lot backing it up on-line - like good for iron...

motherof2boys · 16/07/2009 20:03

I used to work with a lady who was a twin and is probably about 40 now. When her mum had her (and her twin) she (the mum) was about 19 and was PRESCRIBED Guiness by her doctor. I think they get very twichy about alcohol at all now - 7 years ago it seemed to be ok after 12 weeks; now they say none at all I think. But then recently I read a medical report that said you would have to be a total alcoholic (ie drinking before breakfast) before it would hurt.

becks130 · 16/07/2009 20:14

pops I have an Irish family and they say Guiness is good in pregnancy as it is VERY high in Iron which is what is needed in pregnancy. A friend of mine drank it when she was pregnant and nothing bad heppened, thats how we all guessed!! I personally can't drink it I can't stand the taste but if I could stomach it I would probably give it a go.

My MS has returned tonight but not as bad, this means that tomorrow wil be an awful day and I have my scan at 9:15am!

I came in to work this evening and my manager has been taken ill, Dr says it is unlikely to be swine flu but still a little worried about it. I was told that they had discussed the fact that if anyone does get it in my office I won't be able to come in as I'm high risk.
