Due Feb 2010

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Having felt so smug that my MS was easing off, it came back with a vengeance this morning. Splitting headache and, for the first time, frequent retching. Was supposed to have a productive day today but am feeling very sorry for myself, so feel for you too Becks.Urrrggh. Hate this ms.

geekfreak · 13/07/2009 10:44

Pops is this your first? When I was pregnant last time (with my first) I definitely lost weight during the first trimester, and it took me until about 20 weeks to get back to "normal". I wasn't being sick, but it was just a combination of feeling sick and having aversions to certain foods that meant I ate less and lost weight.

Even this time, I was initially worried that I was blooming a bit early, but then the MS took over and the familiar small appetite and food aversions, and it's all stabilised.

So please try and not worry too much. No period plus pregnancy symptoms (MS and tiredness) all point to pg!

Having said earlier that my MS had all but gone, it's now come back with a vengeance. Feeling rough but kind of glad!

becks130 · 13/07/2009 10:47

pops8 I lost about 8lbs in the space of about 10 days from not being able to eat!! I weighed myself on saturday and I have started to put on a few pounds.

Ruby01 · 13/07/2009 11:23

Hello everyone, its so good that there are so many of us now. I have my scan tomorrow but had my first meeting with the midwife on Thursday. Cant say it was exciting and great she couldnt take any bloods and left me very worried about diabeties- both DH and I have a family history but neither of us suffer.

I am so relieved that the sore boobs have eased off some - either that or I am getting used to having sore boobs. I have only been sick once but constantly feel like I could be sick at any time.

I arrived back from New York last Tuesday and the jet lag combined with the most extreme tiredness I have ever known has been awful. Most nights I have been coming in from work at 6 going straight to bed and not getting up till 6 the next morning and I am still feeling tired. I am regularly falling asleep at my desk at work, I have never known fatigue like it.

Once I have the scan tomorrow and see if everything is ok (a little concerned as the boobs dont ache as much convinced my self for a while that that was a bad sign) I think I want to tell my family.

What is the usual time for letting everyone know, would you wait till you have the results of the 15 week blood test for downs?

devotion · 13/07/2009 11:59

Ruby01 - when you let your friends and family know is up to you. Some wait until 12 weeks or more or people like me announce to the world as soon as they see the positive test.

i personally think its god to tell your close family and friends early because if anything was to go wrong they are there to support you and you would probably end up telling them anyway.

but we all feel differently about this.

i guess some mums who have had previous mc prefer to not tell until they know all is fine.

its up to you! you are getting your scan tomorrow so after you see your little one floating about merrily then you can come out and ring everyone in your phonebook

its up to you! x

enjoy your scan tomorrow, mine is next Tuesday. I am SO excited!

ktpie · 13/07/2009 12:43

Hello,

Not been on here for a while, I'm feeling so tired all the time, all I want to do is sleep! No motivation to do anything.

I got my scan date last week and am a bit annoyed about it, I will be 13 weeks by the time of the scan and one of my best friends is getting married two days before the scan date, would prefer to wait until after the scan before I tell everyone but they are all going to be very suspicious at the wedding. Plus we were meant to be going away for a few days that week. Rang up and they can only put it back a week so I guess I will have to stick with it.

Not really showing yet at 11 weeks, chubby tummy but it is from eating loads rather than being a bump!

Hope everyone is feeling well, better go and have my lunch before I start going dizzy!

Ruby01 · 13/07/2009 13:39

devotion good luck with your scan next week - and you are right it is the fact that i have mc in the past that makes me reluctant to let anyone know too soon on.

CaractacusPotty · 13/07/2009 14:22

Pops - I've lost 4lb in the last 4 weeks. With ds2 I lost 10lb in total by the time MS finished. It's the best diet I know - it just doesn't last, and it's really not much fun!

Seeing the mw on weds, she says the obstetrician is in the same day so I may wangle an early scan (and put an end to stupid twin paranoia!). Saves me a trip to the hospital, so it's all good.

devotion · 13/07/2009 14:37

sick of feeling sick

euurrgghhhhh!

can not wait for the nice bit

moan moan moan...

Pops78 · 13/07/2009 16:48

Thank you so much everybody, all so reassuring guys. Yes, great diet but really yuk to actually go through.

Geekfreak - Sorry your MS is back full on but as you say at least its reassuring somehow.

With boobs, mine seemed to constantly hurt for the first 3 weeks and since then they just really hurt when I turn over in my sleep, so much they wake me up. I guess they must be doing their thing while we are asleep mainly!

The worst symptom which has now developed is acne. I have it really bad across my forehead especially and its so weird cos I was lucky as a teen so its really foreign! Anyone know any good treatments for pg acne?

Hope my MW app goes well 2morrow

Apples - I think you are having your follow up scan tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

chamoiscreased · 13/07/2009 16:49

I've lost 11lbs just by being sick all the sodding time . Haven't been to work in over 2 weeks as I can't move without vomiting and I'm not sure it would look good in a meeting!

Pops78 · 13/07/2009 16:56

Oh how hideous Chamoiscreased, if I wasn't working from home would def be off too. Hope you start feeling better soon.

Gidders · 13/07/2009 16:58

Hi everyone, I haven't been on here for ages because of moving house, but we're finally in and have the internet up. Everyone seems to have been struck down with morning sickness in the last few weeks!

I'm just over 11 weeks now, and my ms is definately getting better, and I don't think am speaking too soon because it's been easing for the last two weeks. Such a relief, I feel like I can start getting excited about this pregnancy again - I was just so down and negative with the sickness. I can't imagine having it for the full nine months.

Got my scan booked for next thurs, so we're really excited about that.

devotion · 13/07/2009 17:42

chamoiscreased - poor you! i should stop moaning, i dont actually get sick. hopefully it will stop soon for you.

Gidders - i was wondering where you had gone Thats exciting - house move. Hope it was not to stressful and i love hearing about peoples ms easing up before 12 weeks!!!

I see your scan is next Thurs, two days after mine.

CaractacusPotty · 13/07/2009 17:55

Goodness, chamoiscreased, I definietely think I have just got moaning sickness when I read about people like you. Grim. Hope you feel better... eventually!

Good luck for the scans tomorrow

becks130 · 13/07/2009 20:23

chamoiscreased christ I feel sorry for you, I hope you start to feel better soon.

I am feeling a little better at the moment, but i'm sure that will be short lived. I have returned to work this evening and I feel ok about it, they have been really nice and even offered me a scan if I want another one, I work for a fertility clinic.

I passed a mirror at work this evening a noticed my belly has expanded, I'm not the smallest of girls but I defo have a rounder belly

chamoiscreased · 14/07/2009 09:37

Aw, thanks for the sympathy, it means a lot! I'm actually a little bit grateful for the sickness (just a little bit, mind) as I went for a scan a week ago and the sonographer couldn't find a heartbeat. It either means my dates are spectacularly wrong (and I've given up trying to work out if the timescales they are even possible) or that it's not a viable pregnancy. So I'm slightly reassured by the vomiting, at least my hormones are still in overdrive!
It would probably be quite funny to be a fly on the wall in my house watching me try to get things done between puking episodes. I have nappy sacks in every pocket
Pops hope mw appt goes well and good luck to everyone havng scans today.

CaractacusPotty · 14/07/2009 14:02

Just wondering if everything's ok with Mawbroon - she hasn't posted since she said she'd had a bleed. Hope everything's ok, and she just has a real life!!!

devotion · 14/07/2009 14:33

Yes CaractacusPotty you are right...

MAWBROON - Yoooohoooooo! Hope all is well and you are just not obsessed with mumsnets like us mumsnet nerdos!

becks130 - at your rounding tum, that i svery handy you work at a fertility clinic. I would be asking for a scan each week!

chamoiscreased - just the smell of a nappy sack would make me retch or not if you use the biodegradable ones. Waitrose ones have no smell.

Pops78 · 14/07/2009 20:43

MW app went ok today, so much info to go over. She said no way could she hear the heartbeat until 11/12 weeks. So I guess it wasn't reassuring but nice to feel like am moving forward. Roll on 12 wk scan..

Managed to eat a lot more today too, though paying for it now as feel ick..

Apples - did you have your follow up scan today, if so really hope it went well.

mawbroon · 14/07/2009 21:16

Hi, yes, I am fine thanks. Just been away for a few days visiting my sister and didn't want to spend all my time on MN!!

I only had that one wee bleed and judging by how bloody irritable I am today, then everything still seems to be rocking and rolling.

Still no sickness, but I really feel like I could swing for somebody for no reason.

Think I need a straitjacket.......

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 14/07/2009 21:30

saw my gp today who confirmed my BFP!!!!!!WTF!!!

i had some bloods test taken a week ago(to find out why i cant loose weight) and the hormone level shows i am between 8 and 9 weeks, so very exciting, have been sent home with my green notes to fill in and return next week to sort out booking appt with midwife and a scan!!!!!

suddenly feeling very excited and wow, i am havinbg a baby ish!!!!!

applesaretheonlyfruit · 14/07/2009 22:32

Hi everyone,

Thanks for thinking of me. It did not go well today. After looking around for five minutes, she said that the heartbeat was gone and I would have a miscarriage. Also still the same size as 10 days ago.

Have decided to go for natural miscarriage, as the surgery option can apparently have the risk of puncturing the uterus, etc. And with DD only 22 months, I don't want to be under gen an for a day.

Now I know why she was negative last week. There was a heartbeat, but it wasn't quite right. I asked her about that today, and told her that when I saw dd's heartbeat at 5w6d it was a galloping little light on the screen, but the hb I saw last week was a slow bleeping. It was too slow, and she knew it, but didn't say at the time.

Just quite drained really. I was hoping that having had a mc before dd that it wasn't my turn again. Turns out it was. Irritating because I bought a Ford Galaxy on Ebay last week because it has more seats.

But once the mc is over I will be trying again, because that is the only way I can rationalise this.

I have to stay busy. My ds is having his surprise birthday party tomorrow after school on clapham common. I say surprise, but a class of 7-old-boys can't keep a secret, can they? Cricket and a picnic. His baby sister will be a guest fielder and I'm hoping no one hits her on the head with a ball.

I hope everyone elses pregnancies end with beautiful babies and I'll drop in every now and then and let you know if I manage to justify the Galaxy. Take care.

Pops78 · 14/07/2009 22:54

TheOldestCat · 15/07/2009 06:34

Apples, I'm sorry to hear that too. All the very best to you.
