Due Feb 2010

Gidders · 22/05/2009 16:52

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Just putting my due date in. Thanks for all the well wishes and advice.

Devotion - I normally exercise every day so it's a bit of a shock to the system to only walk the dog! I'm going to listen to my body and gently jog when I'm feeling ok and walk when I'm feeling rough. I've always exercised to keep my weight down so I'm going to have to make sure I don't keep eating my usual calories else I could be the size of an elephant by 9 months!

I've got no nausea yet, but I'm still suffering from constipation/bloating - I'm getting sick of prune juice!

it's nice to see there are a few others on here with PCOS. Before I started the ttc journey I hadn't even heard of the condition, yet it's so common.

I've added myself in.

I'm interested to hear what people make of CS. I had a hideous time last time (induction, horrible staff, epidural, ventouse, 3rd degree tear) and had such complications with the tear that the gynae people told me to have a CS next time (this time!). Has anyone any experience of requesting a CS on the NHS? I fear I'm going to have to fight for it.

Help!

laurawantsababy · 25/06/2009 13:09

Well, I have just booked it! They cant see me until I am nearly 11 weeks - Ahhhh. I knew I should have phoned earlier. I was hoping to have a scan at just 12 weeks this time as I was 13.5 last time.

I am sat in waiting for my maternity trousers to arrive. No matter how much I try my normal trousers are just too small now!

The hardest thing for me is keeping it a secret with my increasing stomach! I want to send dd into my mums with a 'im the big sister' t shirt and the scan photo!!

motherof2boys · 25/06/2009 13:15

thanks everyone - went and waited and waited for my early scan (no self referral in this part of London!) and it was all fine and little thing was beating away. 8 weeks today!

geekfreak · 25/06/2009 13:16

11 weeks for booking in? That's pretty late. I hope you get your scan in time - I seem to remember that the later it gets, the harder it gets to do the nuchal fold scan (if they do that where you are).

Love the idea of sending your DD in with an "I'm the Big Sister" T-shirt! Last time, DH and I told his mum by putting a scan pic in her mothers day card, and this time we're planning to do the same (all being well) with her birthday card. So much more impact than just saying!

Mind you, I'm also struggling with trousers, so maybe it'll become obvious sooner...

laurawantsababy · 25/06/2009 13:19

I know. I have to go to my hospital for the appointment this time. Before it was at my GPs surgery. Gutted!

I will have my camera ready to catch my parents expression!!

I did want an early private scan and dp is off on holiday in August so I may use it as a bargaining tool to get him to pay for one at 10 weeks!

motherof2boys - Great news x

geekfreak · 25/06/2009 13:27

Well done motherof2boys, that's great news.

I hate the inflexibility of antenatal appointments. My surgery only does them on one day each week (which I find difficult to make as I work miles away). I know the staff are there the rest of the time, but will they see you any other time? Of course not. Grr.

twoplusone · 25/06/2009 13:41

mother of2boys.. glad thae scan went well for you hun xxx

mowmi · 25/06/2009 14:16

Hello Preggybear, Becks and Scooby - it's a minefield isn't it. I've done 2 rounds of IVF (1st failed, 2nd ended in mc - empty sac at 8 weeks) fell naturally this time - total surprise. All seems to going well had scan at 6 & 8 weeks, have another tomorrow so will keep you posted. I have this idea in my head that once I stop the Met. my hormones wont do what they're supposed to and I'll lose it.
Thanks for the posts - feel better chatting with others in the same boat.
Becks - good luck for tomorrow x

Pops78 · 25/06/2009 14:50

Motherof2boys - that's brill news, it's a nice little reassurance isn't it. I burst into tears when I saw that little heartbeat yesterday.

summermagic · 25/06/2009 15:13

Hi ladies

Can I first say a massive congratulations to you all on your pregnancies. You must all be so excited.

Sorry to crash your thread. I'm on the assisted conception thread as have had ovaries drilled due to PCOS and having a few more goes at natural conception before moving on to IVF in the Autumn.

I'm currently in the tww and having my normal pms symptoms. AF not due till Sunday but was wondering whether any of you experienced your usual monthly symptoms before getting a BFP at the end of it.

Just hoping for a glimmer of hope to get me through to the weekend.

Thanks and congratulations to you all agian. xx

torshihunter · 25/06/2009 16:11

Can I join this forum, I think i am due 07/02/10. Second time around, after a m/c at 12 weeks in 2008. 'twas gutted at the time, and didn't want to try again, but here i am with bigger boobs and bonecrushing tiredness. Need some moral support to stay positive! have booked a private reassurance scan next week, as GP is deeply unsympathetic to any concerns I have this time.

geekfreak · 25/06/2009 16:26

Hello, welcome and congrats torshihunter. Plenty of moral support on here!

Good luck with the scan next week. Out of interest, how do you go about booking a private scan and is is very expensive?

geekfreak - it's £90 for a reassurance scan at the fetal medicine unit at the RVI in Newcastle U Tyne, and you can self-refer. I don't rate my GP practice at all, midwife had to be chased to get a booking in appointment last time and this time appears to be no different.

Geekylass · 25/06/2009 18:26

summermagic I was so sure that I was about to have a period that I took my usual nurofen (ach well, nothing I can do about it now) and patiently waited another 2 days for it to start before it occurred to me to do a test. Had cramps, sore back, moodiness, sore boobs, the lot! Fingers crossed for you

preggybear · 25/06/2009 19:32

summermagic

I didn't think i was pregnant when I did my BFP, having only had 3AF's in the last 16 months I had no normal cycles. Metformin is a mean drug for the fact that it always gave me pregnancy symptoms (morning sickness & going off food), so every now and then I would do a test. DH was so used to me doing them I had to wake him up to show him the possitive result! I had said a week before that I though my AF was going to start within the week because of the signs my body was giving out.

After having tests at St Barts 3 months ago, we were told it would be hard for me to fall because of PCOS & weight issues and dh little swimers had issues (85% wrong shape) and that because of my weight we couldn't have IFV. He was re-tested to see if it was just a one off, still waiting for the results!!!!

There is hope

flyingcloud · 25/06/2009 19:44

Updating myself too, after my 9mm bean put me at 6+4 last week which gives me a revised due date of 08/02. Any chance this might change again with the 12 week scan if the bean is a few mm different from expected size?

Welcome torshihunter - stick with us you too summermagic good luck! x

luckywinner · 25/06/2009 20:04

I am stepping a very tentative foot into this thread. I have no idea when I am due as I had a mc 1st May and no af in between but I think I am very near Totally's due date. She is the one who told me about this thread.

I am very nervous because of the last mc and am so worried I don't have enough symptoms and it will end in another mc. So when I am feeling brave I will pop by and when I am not I will lurk, I hope that's ok.

Out of interest, does anyone remember when their morning sickness started as I had it bad with my 2 dc but only a bit of nausea so far, but I suppose I am only 5 and a bit weeks so might be a bit early.

Oh and congrats btw to all.

summermagic · 25/06/2009 21:48

Thanks everyone for your responses. Like I was just saying to my friend, there's something really depressing about thinking it's already over before it's even over.

I hope you all have lovely pregnancies, straightforward births and healthy bouncy babies at the end if it.

xx

Geekylass · 26/06/2009 09:24

summer best of luck to you. Please let us know how you get on

Gidders · 26/06/2009 11:51

Hi Luckywinner - congratulations! I think you are a bit early still for ms - I started feeling nauseous at 6 weeks but it didn't really kick in until 7. I asked my doctor about it when I saw her at just over 5 weeks and she said it would be another week or two. Hope that helps, good luck!

My morning sickness is starting to creep in now and i'm not even 5 weeks yet! I had a late night last night and ds woke me up a couple of times in the night. I think the tiredness makes me notice it, so an early night for me tonight!
