Due Feb 2010

Afternoon,

I can't find a due in Feb thread, but I suppose it's very early still!

Got my BFP on tuesday, with a due date of Feb 3. It's still not quite sunk in - I've had to take another three tests since then just to check

I'm spending far too much time already planning for this baby when I should be working, please tell me I'm not the only one who is completely obsessed. And that I will calm down eventually!

Anyway, would love to chat with some other newly upduffed types.

Hi, took ds and dd to Hampton Court palace on Saturday for the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII becoming King. It was great, lots of actors in costume, the King was rowed up the Thames from the Tower of London and arrived to a feast in the gardens. Not sure dd, only 20-months, fully appreciated the history stuff - but she loved the maze. Ds has done Henry for history already, but he was impressed by the pomp and the tutor kitchens (cooking the real feast, the fire was enormous). Meanwhile, I was checking and rechecking the map of the palace for the nearest loo..
Going for scan at 5w6d on Friday at St Georges. I'm hoping for a baby heartbeat. Difficult to fully engage with this pregnancy until I know its okay, the same as anyone who has had a miscarriage I guess. Roll on the scans!!

becks130 · 22/06/2009 13:06

Hi All,

makingdotoo Congratulations I conceived almost straight after miscarriage as well, didn't even have period so I have no idea what my due date is! I have a scan on Friday morning for reassurance and dating.

The symptoms are definitly here, I feel terrible. In a way it's given me some reassurance that everything should be ok. My boobs are HUGE and sore

drpepper · 22/06/2009 13:22

hi, i'm due 24th feb already have one dd who is six and was born on 25th feb thats clearly a very fertile time for me, wasn't planned but very excited ! wanted spag bol for breakfast this morning so think my cravings are kicking in ! i joined mumsnet just after i had my dd but haven't been on for a while and thought i would come say hi once again and look forward to sharing and hearing advice and stories ! xx

becks130 · 22/06/2009 13:24

drpepper congratulations and welcome

CaractacusPotty · 22/06/2009 14:51

Afternoon

Welcome drpepper and makingdotoo

apples - Hampton court sounds absolutely fantastic, what a great thing to see

anniemac was dd late/early - if she was late maybe you'll be late again and better off on this thread!!

totally&utterly - sorry to hear about dp, not the sort of news you want to hear right now What are your options?

Gidders - that sounds horrible! Do you think it's all MS or has the stress of moving house contributed (desperate hope that maybe it'll ease up after you move!)

motherof2 - poor you! Hope the flu eases up soon. I'm also trying to watch what I eat - have only just got back to pre-pg weight and really don't want to pile as much on as I did last time.

2plus1 - did you get to the docs today?

Not much news from here today. It's revoltingly hot and I didn't even get lunch until 2.30. I'm not sure if it was that or the hormones but I was feeling very grumpy!!!

motherof2boys · 22/06/2009 14:52

Feeling terrible is generally a good sign, I think.

Becks - thinking of u with scan. It seems amazing that our bodies get straight on with pg again after miscarriage. Seeing gp tomorrow to let the nhs know i'm back!

becks130 · 22/06/2009 15:27

I am soooo tired I can hardly keep my eye's open, is anyone else feeling this tired?? I start work at 5pm I really don't know how I am going to get through the evening!!

I hope everyone else is starting to feel better.

twoplusone · 22/06/2009 16:14

hi.. Yes I did get to the docs.. pains are normal.. and ot to keen to send me for a reasuurance scan at themo.. if i continue to feel the way i do then maybe.. I knew this would be the case if i saw an English doc so I had booked to see a german one.. but they were all running late so patients got swapped.. Will see how i go .. TBH I know a lot of it is in my head and i just want to see the HB etc.. i will be havng a scan iin 4 weeks anyway.. he did say my reaction is normal and he would be more worried if i didnt feel like this.. as a few other things have happened too over the past two weeks.. Oh well will try and stay positive .

Take care all xx

drpepper · 22/06/2009 16:21

Hallo all, can I join in?

Just back from the doc, who has put my due date at 24 February. Feels a bit more real now, yikes. I have a DD who is 2.7.

Congratulations to all - and best wishes to all of you who are anxious because of miscarriage or previous losses. I really hope you can stay positive and that all will be well.

Doctorskidaddle · 22/06/2009 17:54

hi drpepper and theoldestcat and other newbies

becks I am also ridiculously tired - feel like I am being a bit pathetic but I think that is just guilt at not being as excitable /active as usual with my DC.

Not feeling sick yet. All those with MS when did it start? Think I am about 5 weeks now and I don't think it started until 6-8 weeks with previous pregnancies (although could be rose-tinted glasses/desperate hope...)

Best wishes to all who are scared because of previous MC. I am shocked at how many of you there are - must be so hard trying not to worry but hopefully in another 6 weeks we will all be feeling a lot calmer

flyingcloud · 22/06/2009 18:07

Hello and welcome to all the newbies. Delighted you are here .

Sickness really sucks - Doctorskidaddle, mine started at 6 weeks and has been pretty much constant for the last week (am now 7+3)apart from 30 mins yesterday when I didn't feel sick - can you believe it? I can actually pinpoint a half hour when I felt normal.

Bluurgh is about the extent of my vocabulary right now (and yes, knackered here too Becks, I can't get through the days without at least one nap and on Saturday I slept for four hours in the afternoon).

laurawantsababy · 22/06/2009 19:38

Hi, all. Im going to book my booking in appointment for next Thursday with the midwife.

Has anyone been given a different due date by the midwife then you worked it out to be? If I use my conception date its a week earlier then using the LMP date.

Doctorskidaddle · 22/06/2009 21:56

thanks flying cloud - one week to go then am not looking forward to half an hour of feeling ok per day!

laura - yes I also have that - think it's because my cycles are quite long and I think I maybe ovulate a bit early... could this be the case for you too? doesn;t really matter as they never arrive when they're supposed to anyway!!

devotion · 22/06/2009 22:29

good evening ladies and welcome to all the latest - congratulations!

who is sick of feeling sick?

i have spent almost the whole weekend working in my assignments, awake until 3am Saturday morning and 4 am this morning working on them. I had to get an extension until next week for one. Thought i was going to collapse.

So off to bed now to catch up.

Mouth full of saliva and "arrgghhhh".... sigh!

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and already showing??? My friends at college kept teasing me saying there are two in there ... you have to definitely be an organised person to have twins and that is NOT me!

So please God - one will do

Lots of people going for scans, that will be so lovely to see your little beans. can not wait for mine, think its 21st July.

sickness seems to have got worse the last few days and i remember with baby 2 my sickness peaked 8-10 weeks and then slowly eased off until 16 weeks though. So i keep telling myself it will get better after two weeks - fingers crossed.

like someone else i wake earlier hours with acidy tummy ans need some food so i keep grapes by my bed... help a little. although eating them lying down is a bit tricky!

nighty night x

ps.motheroftwoboys - hope you feel better soon. good idea to take the pregnancy supplement, so much going on in your body and with children your immune system needs all the help it can get. take care x

UnderWrapsForNow · 23/06/2009 08:06

I am going to the doc this morning just for the "I'm pregnant" appointment. I have a reassurance scan booked for 21st July so hopefully won't be needing to cancel it.

I am only 4+1 today so don't have a lot by way of symptoms. If I don't eat regularly I get very shaky. This is what happened when I was pg with ds, but I didn't handle it very well and ended up getting so shaky and sick feeling that I couldn't face eating. So, this time, I am eating regularly in the hopes of staving it off. It's early yet for me to be feeling properly sick, but I am sure it will come if this pg hangs on in there.

My ds still breastfeeds, so I'm hoping that my nipples don't get as sore as they did last time!

ktpie · 23/06/2009 09:42

Morning everyone, got my first MW appointment this afternoon, hoping it is the same one as with DS as she was lovely.
My morning sickness seems to have eased off, which then causes me to worry, but I'm still absolutely shattered so hoping that is a good sign!
Hello to any more new people! Hope everyone is feeling good today!

Geekylass · 23/06/2009 15:21

Hello everyone, I will also be having my 'I'm pregnant' appointment (thanks underwraps! ooh, that sounds a bit kinky when I shorten your name, I like it), but not until tomorrow morning. Hope it doesn't sound daft but I went out and bought more peesticks today, and will be testing again tomorrow morning before I go just in case - even though I still have porn star boobs, aching back and dizziness

They don't actually DO anything at this appointment do they? I will try to eat something anyway in case they want blood, but it's just a matter of starting the appointment merry-go-round, amirite? Would appreciate any advice you can give me, especially if you are in Scotland (as I'm sure we'll have a completely different system just to make it more confusing).

Hello to the newly pregnant! Glad to hear we are all doing well even though I'm sure most of us would happily fall into a coma to avoid the next few weeks of yuckyness

drpepper · 23/06/2009 15:33

i wanted spag bol for breakfast again today so i had it ! not as bad as last time when i was getting through multipacks of salt and vinegar crisps each day ! i'd better up my daily walking to burn some of the extra calories off and try not to put 4 stone on this time ! anyone got any tips to keep weight down but still getting everything needed to keep self and baby healthy ?

Gidders · 23/06/2009 15:40

Lol Geekylass - I did exactly the same, tested before my first appointment. In fact, I last took a test about a week ago, despite having constant morning sickness. If it helps, my doctor didn't do anything at my appointment except take my blood pressure and a urine sample. It was a bit of an anti climax!

Congratulations to the newbies! My morning sickness started pretty much on the dot of six weeks, and has got worse every week since ( I am now 8 + 3) I've found the best food for keeping that and the (tmi) pregnancy constipation under control is any kind of beans, especially kidney beans and lentils. Not very appealing, but everything tastes disgusting at the moment, so hey ho.

UnderWrapsForNow · 23/06/2009 15:40

drpepper - last time, I had to have greggs sausage rolls for breakfast - seriously, it was the only thing I could keep down!! But it was pickled onion monster munch that I craved the most!!

geeky - at my appointment, we just went through my dates, previous pregnancy history etc. I will hear from the midwife sometime between 8-12 weeks, will get a scan around 12 weeks and here (yes, in scotland!) they have just introduced an anomaly scan at around 18 weeks which is very new. I know someone with an 8 week old baby who didn't get one.

The doc gave me a date of 4th March, but i will probably get a different one from the scan, so i am not too bothered about dates just yet.

She has referred me to the consultant because of complications in my last pg, but I don't want to say what they are because it would give me away!!

geekfreak · 23/06/2009 17:56

Can I join please? I've been a regular user of MN but have always been to shy/scared to post.

I'm due on Feb 16 and am at the same stage as many of you: excited but anxious, so wanting to shout it from the rooftops but wanting to wait until after the 12 week scan.

I've also got a DD, who is 2y 8m.

preggybear · 23/06/2009 18:07

OMG I had a total wig out on the way to work this morning! DH was driving me to work and I started crying because I was so tired (and feeling sick. Took him an hour to get me to stop, so called in sick!!! I have noticed that my trousers and jeans are tight, I'm only just over 8wks and it is my frist pregnancy! Worst thing is I just lost 19lbs and only just mannager to get in to my jeans

devotion · 23/06/2009 19:46

oh preggybear - big hugs x

its so horrible isnt it?

i really feel for you working feeling like that.

i worked full time pregnant with dd1 and luckily was not reall sick.

this time i work for myself part time and i've cut my hours now to almost nothing.

i just about handle a few things during the day.

my home is a total mess, the bathroom is embarassing, i'm behind with washing, i cant handle any cleaning except tidying.

i was a t a friends today and she gave me a life home becaise i felt so rough. i just wanted to cry too.

this evening i made myself a sausage and chip sandwich - it was the most delicious thing ever and the best part was when i was eating it i felt "normal" and up to about five minutes after then the green haze took over.

i'm so worried about getting too fat now. i have to eat every 15 mins or more. i try to snack healthy like tomatoes, cucumbers, grapes etc but then i explode and have crisps or biscuits or that fatty sandwich like i did this evening. my dh could not beleive i was eating it before my dinner too.

i could have another one now too...

welcome geekfreak and congratulations!

i dont normally moan t
