Diege · 06/06/2009 22:11

Evening! Risotto does sound good for a main GYO, and pretty fail-safe too! I'm feeling pretty bleugh if I'm honest - had a day like MOOS's and am feeling very lethargic, slightly sick, and scared to go to bed in case the contraction start again!! Bh's every 10 mins or so, quite painful now, and have got dh to swot up on tens machine just in case I go early. Will get dh to post on here with any news, but will try and post before heading off to hossy. Could be weeks yet, but I have it in my head that I'll have a baby in my arms by this time next week
Glad things seem better now MOOS!! Chinese does sound good
Right, better start attacking the kitchen - what a bomb site!

sorky · 06/06/2009 22:57

Bloody hell, do ya think this could be it then Diege?

Diege · 07/06/2009 11:09

Morning! Think my body's just teasing me SORKY. I've heard of this 'latent labour' thing before, but never had it with the other 3. It's not too bad - just a series of 'contractions'/period pain over a couple of hours a day, then back to normal.
Hope everyone is ok -very blustery here today but no rain as yet. Hoping to get out later, and clear up more in the meantime!

julesisoneyearolder · 07/06/2009 17:52

morning

chineses sounds good moosy
kay - meal sounds yum
hopefully not long for you now diege

popped out to shops this morning then have been sitting around relaxing.

have decided to make an appoinment to have implant removed have had it for 3 months periods are still constant and feel moody. plus we are off to centre parcs in 6 weeks

sorky · 07/06/2009 18:56

Shall we expect a honk in a couple of months time from you then Tink?

Sorkybaby is 4months tomorrow and had her first sit at the dining room table today , was really nice sit altogether. She kept watching everyone move food from plate to mouth hehe

Kayzr · 07/06/2009 21:03

I need your opinions please. I want to re-arrange the living room. I just hate the layout of the furniture. DH isn't quite so sure about it.

So I suggested moving things about and then we can always put it all back if we don't like it. I just really can't stand it! So what would you do??

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 07/06/2009 21:26

Been quiet on here today!
I'm multi- tasking as I'm feeding DS, watching The Apprentice and MNing via my phone!

Kay - if I were your DH, I may be quite happy with current layout and not wanting the effort of moving everything. You could offer to move everything yourself (except maybe the sofa) and agree to move it back if he doesn't like it after an agreed timescale - 48hrs or a week

Sorky - happy 4 month birthday to sorkybaby

LOL at a honk from Jules soon!!

We had one of the NCT couples come round this afternoon with their DD. She's 2 weeks older than DS. Looking at them together, they didn't look that much different in size but DS just looked so skinny! Made me think maybe I was being mean not giving him formula to help him put the weight on but I have been expressing about 1.5oz of hind milk for the last 3 days which should ensure he gets some more fatty milk. They think that because of his Tongue tie, he's taking so much effort to feed and hence tends to graze and not get enough hind milk. It's less than 48hrs til his Tongue tie gets sorted so hopefully that will help and he'll be a little bruiser in a couple of weeks!

sorky · 07/06/2009 22:42

I suppose it depends on how much furniture you have Kayz really.

In our living room we have wall to wall bookcases, which apart from the fact that there just isn't any other way to put them, would likely take me all week to store the books elsewhere in order to shift anything iyswim, so I wouldn't attempt it

If it's sofas, tv etc then go for it. Do it whilst he's at work!

He'll catch up very soon Ses You're doing a fab job in feeding him yourself. Hopefully his snip will make things everything a bit easier for him.
Hang on in there and GET AWAY FROM THAT FORMULA!!!!

Kayzr · 07/06/2009 22:51

We have 1 book case, a sofa, a tv stand and a box of toys. That is it except for the pc desk which isn't moving.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 07/06/2009 23:06

I'd suggest moving it for a trial then Kay.

Thanks for the encouragement Sorky. I'm sure his bum won't be so bony before long!

Just finished watching The Apprentice. Wont say too much incase anyone else has it recorded but I was pleased with the result

Best try and get some sleep. I have to be up and organized in the morning as British Gas will be here first thing to start installing our new boiler.
Hope everyone has a good night.

glaskham · 08/06/2009 08:08

morning everyone- sorry i've been so neglectant of the wagon over the last few days- been pretty hectic... Kids have stayed out 2 nights, did a carboot with Dh yesterday and cleared out all our stuff (anything left over is going to the charity shop on weds am.) DD2 is very upset because of teething already and has been pooing lots more regular the last few days... and in between all that i've been busy spending money!!

Got to take DS to nursery in 25mins so can't hang about this morning... then i think i'm taking the DD's to mums and toddlers.... but can't decide if i should or not because of all the snotty nosed kids- last time one dribbled snot and banana from round his mouth all over my pram!! YUK!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 08/06/2009 08:53

Morning all, hope you all had a good weekend..

Glask that sounds yuck.... I have got masses of washing, ironing and housework to do today then ds has his second lot of jabs later this afternoon...

I have also got to get a 2.5 mil syringe today as well as I only have a 5 mil and i may not be getting the correct measure into ds. Who is still being sick and misserable but that is another matter and I am not going to bore you all with that again today...

We got a door bouncer for him on sat and he loves it in there so am going to put him in it while I try to get on with the ironing later... Wish me luch

Hope you are all well.

Got my appointment for 20 week scan already, it's all feeling a bit real now!

How are you today Diege, any more funny feelings?

And how are you LB, I hope you got some sleep?

Kayz, I would just move it, he probably wouldn't even notice if you hadn't said anything!

Ses, stop torturing yourself about the formula, Glask proved that it isn't always a magic cure for weight gain! Give yourself a bit more time after he's had his tongue snipped and see how things are going. Also he is still very young to be gaining huge amounts yet.

After my miserable saturday, we had a really nice day yesterday, we went swimming with friends and their 2 children (one of which is DD1's future DH!) in the morning then out for a cream tea in the afternoon with same friends, who then came to look round the barn while the children played there. It was really to have DH not working all day, we both relaxed properly for the first time in ages too

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 08/06/2009 09:43

Morning!
I couldn't get back to sleep properly after DS 3am feed so feelingt a bit tired here.

Moos - thanks, only 24hrs(ish) to go so definitely no formula here...
Yay for relaxing - probably did you the world of good

BNJP - sorry it doesn't sound like things are getting much easier. Door bouncer sounds good though!

Glask - car boot sounds v productive!

HV just phoned and agreed not to come and weigh DS today. She'll come Friday instead so that gives us a whole week between weigh ins!

British Gas have arrived to do our boiler and tank. Mum coming over later to help out. (She really has exceeded my expectations on how helpful she is and I must try and tell her without letting her think that I thought she wouldn't be IYKWIM!)

Morning all, we have had a busy weekend. On Saturday we were at a friends wedding - it was the most baby-filled wedding I've ever been to. They needed 17 high chairs for the reception and there were several other small babies there. It finished up being a lovely, noisy crazy day and we caught up with loads of people we haven't seen in months. The only downside was we drove as it was only an hour away and didn't get home till after 1.30am then I didn't sleep well so I was shattered yesterday. Our friends came down to visit with my godson and I could hardly be bothered to drag myself down to the park for a couple of hours with him. I now have total respect for all of you with babies (so not sleeping) and toddlers! Still quite tired today and feel a bit sick so I hope I'm not coming down with something .

Right off for a read-through of the weekends posts. Back later.

Morning! Ok here, though bad night of indigestion etc so just had 10 mins nap to refresh!

SES, that sounds good about hv not coming till Friday - gives you a bit of head space! Agree with what you say about Apprentice winner - much the best choice I thought. Had a rather odd dream about Philip last night - very much the depths of my unconscious there as not my type at all!

MOOS, your Sunday did sound good! Cream tea especially

GLASK, good luck with the playgroup is you decide to go; snotty pram does sound a bit off putting!

IDOB, get some rest! That wedding sounds fun - lol at all those highchairs

LB, agree that door bouncers can be a godsend - love the way they go really mad in them as they get more confident
Hi TINKS! What's this about a honk??

Well our childminder has had to go into hospital for 5 days of investigations, so am doing all the picking up today. Should be ok, though feeling rather sloth-like so would rather just lie here until they are delivered back. Have all of last year's summer clothes down from loft (and moses basket at last!!) so hope to sort into e-bay/charity shop/bin/keep piles today!

Hello all:

Ses - you're doing wonderfully. And if Owen's tongue tie is the issue, there's no telling if he would feed better from a bottle, don't you think? Yes, it might be easier for him, but it seems like the issue is the way he sucks, not the strength of his suck, no?

Diege - the BH's sound exciting! (if not uncomfortable ) C'mon little Diege!!!

GYO - I'm definitely looking forward to a nightly glass of wine once Nugget is on the outside! Enjoy!

IDOB - glad you enjoyed the wedding. I was thinking of you on Saturday, hoping the weather would hold out!

Hi Gruff, Jules, Sorky, Moosy, Glask, Kay, etc...

This pram situation is totally doing my head in! On Saturday we went down to Croydon as there's a shop there that allowed us to see the Britax and the M&P Switch side by side. DH was still banging on about the Switch, that it folds smaller, is (slightly) lighter, etc. But I just don't like it, I can't help it - not to mention that it's £100 more expensive. Then we're on the train home and he says "Maybe we just accept the fact that one pram won't last us a lifetime and just go for the Bee, seeing as it's so light and versatile" We discounted the Bee ages ago because it just seemed too small for a toddler. Now I'm starting to agree with him as it really does do all we need it to do, but I've got a few niggles with it - feel the baby is really low to the ground and would really like something a little more robust for park walking, etc AND I think it's quite expensive for something so light/small. But it would be convenient for so many things, including public transport and air travel. I'm just completely stumped and it's starting to stress me out! Also having trouble breathing, mostly when trying to sleep lately. Wish this little guy would move down a little! Not to mention I'm having constipation from hell! Sorry, vent over!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 08/06/2009 13:12

Hi everyone, been on holiday for a week, which was lovely - got my new car sorted too which is a huge relief.

Finally cleared my desk and settled everything with work too, so that's another huge thing sorted.

Now I'm just trying to sort my life out, what to do about work, organising the house (which is just bursting with crap) and trying to stay on top of things.

The pg is still going well, such an amazing transformation since last pg when I was sick all the way through. It seems like the baby is waaaaay more active than DS was, however, it has crossed my mind that as I'm not 'distracted' by work, it may just be that I'm noticing it more.

I had the consultants appt before going on holiday, which went well - did I mention this already? Some of the talk about birth plans with her have been playing on my mind a bit, so will have to run them by you all some time soon I reckon - when I find a minute!

I swear, I have no idea how I found time to work, I'm just soooo damn busy!!! And DS is still in nursery at the moment whilst I work out what to do about working.

I'm so sorry, for self-centred post - hope everyone is doing good, and if anyone can do me a roundup of anything important I've missed - that would be great?!
