Hello everyone

Moosy, how are you? have the DCs gone to bed?

Ses- glad you are having time away from the medics! Hope you have a relaxing weekend.

DH is now at Ben Nevis. He isnt actually walking all of them, but is the driver. Has got to sleep in a people carrier then drive thru the night to Scarfell Pike.
Its not like he is used to the broken nights - hope all will be ok.

Anyone else find they look forward to an evening glass of wine/drink after DCs go to bed? Worried Im getting a bit too dependent on it!

GYo · 05/06/2009 19:57

Sorry Moosy, just read that DCs are in bed.

Is DH still out?

  • hope I dont sound like alcholic! Only ever one glass of wine and I dont feed DD again until 2 or 3am!

Sounds good and healthy to me GYo
How was your mum today? Did DD still struggle to settle on her?

Moosy · 05/06/2009 20:27

Yes DH is still out and will be till very late, in fact he said he might sleep at home so he doesn't get kicked all night for breathing disturb me when he comes in

GruffaloSoldier · 05/06/2009 20:32

hehe Gyo - I just finished a glass of wine as I was catching up! Def that and choc helps me unwind

Hows the small giraffe doing?

Ses - not sure about next week. What time were you thinking? I need to see how Gruff cubs colic goes as an hours drive seems a bit scary doing on my own if he suddenly gets his bout of colic as its throughout the day at the mo. I was feeling quite confident but last two days have been more difficult again

I have a baby hammock thing now from AMby that came today and he is in it tonight, I really hope it makes a difference.

Really want to meet up though so if I dont make it this week we will def have to do another soon!

Right I am off for a quick bath and then going to enjoy my last evening with my mum, sooo don't want her to go.

GYo · 05/06/2009 20:48

Moosy for DH being out late. But good if you dont get disturbed? I quite like a bed to myself nothing worse than DH starting to snore just as I finish the 3am feed and Im wide awake trying to get back to sleep! hope you get some rest anyway

Hi Ses, thanks for asking, Mum was ok actually. She didnt come to the house but we went to town for lunch. DD was really quite settled, she laid in her pram, fed a bit then slept til lunch was over. Then she let mum push her around the town without so much as a whimper.

We are going over to her house on Sunday so will see if the screaming is related to her place!

How are you feeling- hope the weighing thing
isnt causing stress for you and DH.

Glad Im not alone on the wine thing. Now I've also had brownie and icecream so feeling properly guilty!!

Hi Gruff, sorry to hear GC is still poorly. Hope it improves at the magical 12wks. Shame your mum is going home. Could you hide her plane/train ticket

Small Giraffe is doing really well. She is turned into a very very smiley gorgeous girl in last week or so and when she beams at me at 3am I could forgive her for waking me at that hour forever! (well, almost!) She is suddenly so aware of people around her and watches me move around the room. So cute..

She goes for her first jabs on Monday. Really not looking forward to that!

More wine anyone|?

I have been laying off the wine to see if it makes any difference to DS but it doesn't so yes please GYO I will have one.....

GS hope you can make the mini meet up, but totally understand if you cant.

GYo · 05/06/2009 21:30

Hope you have an ok night.

bumpsnowjustplump · 05/06/2009 21:38

I am going to be in bed by 10 that is the plan... DS is asleep now..

GruffaloSoldier · 05/06/2009 21:39

Hey!

Out of the bath now was sooooo good

Thats great about SG Gyo - funnily enough GC has been really smiley and even started to giggle and coo this week which of course my mum just loves!Must be all the sunshine round here It also reassures me that despite his colic he is happy! His first injections are next week on Thurs - cant believe he is 8 weeks on Wed! Thats great though hopefully means that next time they see each other SG and GC might actually start to take notice of one another

LB - sorry BNJP, really hope things get better for you soon. You are doing so great.I am still struggling and GC is so much better than he was. You have that big glass of wine - I will join you

Kayzr · 06/06/2009 06:44

Morning,

Gruff, I can't believe GC is nearly 8 weeks. That seems to have gone so quickly. Saying that though DS2 is 6 months next Friday I just can't believe it.

I went to Scarborough yesterday and I hate it. Sorry to anyone who loves Scarborough but I just hate it there. I spent most of the time pulling DS1 away from snarling staffies and rottweilers. I saw many PG girls women wearing tracksuits with their entire bump hanging out. Many of them smoking too. But anyway rant over I traded in our xbox that we never use(came free with mobile phone) and got a Wii with Wii fit. It cost £65 because I took in the xbox so very happy.

Hope you are all well and all the babies slept well.

Kayzr · 06/06/2009 06:51

Awww DS1 has my old old mobile and he was just talking on it and I asked him who he was talking to and he said "Jessica and Sarah"

julesisoneyearolder · 06/06/2009 11:19

off to have italian restaurant for bday lunch
sorry for not responding to anyone

Diege · 06/06/2009 11:57

Morning! Lovely to have smiley babies GRUFF and GYO - it's such a lovely stage and makes (almost) everything seem worth while! And cheers to the glass of wine! I don't actually drink at all, but would look forward to my evening glass of diet coke and choccy when they were in bed! Same principle I suppose - gets you through the arsenic hour of 6-7pm

Hope you're ok LB and got a good night last night. Strangely enough I was thinking of you when I woke up around 3ish, and of your bad night!

TINKS, enjoy your birthday meal - sounds nice

KAYZ, that's funny about Scarborough - I thought exactly the same, and was sooo disappointed by it. I remember fondly days on the beach and visiting little gift shops etc as a child, but was surprised last year how the place had gone down. Having said that, still love the Peaceholm park end, and we always get a rowing boat out every year and dh gets a chance to show off his 'skills' We also go to a pub with a double decker red bus parked in the garden with slides and balls etc inside, which I think is on the outskirts of Scarborough. Totally filthy and minging, but the girls love it and the vegi carvery is lovely

Well, had an odd night. Woke at 3ish with a very painful contraction, lasting about 20 secs, then 4 mins later another. Got up, went to loo, then waited with thudding heart for the next one but nothing happended..Suffice to say, couldn't get back to sleep so have had a fair lie-in this morning. Doula is away in Bristol till sun eve (when she goes 'on call' as I'll be 38 wks)so really hope baby decides to stay put!
Time for lunch I think! Hope everyone is well and the weather isn't as bad as it is here!

Kayzr · 06/06/2009 13:06

I'm doing a surprise meal for DH on Monday night. We've has a few rows and I thought I would treat him. So I am doing Italian as we both love it!

So I have been trying to do a Tesco shop but he keeps coming over to the desk!! Finally after 3 hours!! I have ordered it!

Diege · 06/06/2009 14:57

That sounds a nice surprise KAYZ . What are you planning on cooking?

Moosy · 06/06/2009 18:14

That sounds like a nice idea Kayz, I love Italian (and their food isn't bad either, arf!)

Hope everyone's had nice Saturdays.

I am utterly fed up. I've had the most boring day stuck in the house with the DDs (no car, raining, no energy to walk anywhere), DH has been working all day and was going to be bringing us Chinese but has only just finished his job so won't be here until at least 6.30 which is an hour later than we normally eat! We're all really hungry, the DDs are climbing the walls and the bloody Peppa Pig DVD won't work! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!

julesisoneyearolder · 06/06/2009 18:29

hi

enjoyed italian lunch for bday in ciao baby.
had taglitelle with gorgonzola sauce yummy thn a chocolate pancake from crepe house next door
have just made 2nd lot of purees - pear, apple, green bean have swede and carrot left to do.

moosy - hope u get some tea soon

kay -lovely idea

Moosy · 06/06/2009 20:05

Aaah that's better, tummy full of Chinese (although he didn't get the one thing I asked for!) and the girls are in bed I tell you it's a good job I'm pg or I'd have turned to the drink today!

GYo · 06/06/2009 20:38

Hello

Chinese sounds good Moosy. great you are feeling up to it.

Jules- lunch out sounds good.

Kayz - meal sounds great, cant wait to hear your menu!

Diege- how are you tonight? I take take the waiting! Hope you are getting ready to give birth on Wednesday! (sorry, I know how annoying it is to be asked all the time if you've had "any twinges"!)

Who are you going to text so we can post the news here

DH has finished his driving part of the 3 peaks. He did the last peak on foot too- apparently now recoverying in a bar in the local area. Quite envious.

Surviving with DD on my own- its quite nice but hard work having no one else to hold the fort for 5mins.

Glass of wine and chocolate again here

I'm doing Antipasti for the starter so lots of salami, parma ham, mozzarella etc, not sure about main yet could just do spag bol I suppose. I have ordered tiramisu for pudding as you really need to make it the day before and it wouldn't be a surprise then.

DH is in the pub and the boys are sleeping and I just don't know what to do with myself!

GYo · 06/06/2009 21:10

Sounds yummy Kayz

Risotto is very easy to make and would make a good main.

I feel inspired to try and do something similar for DH now Problem is he is such a professional in the kitchen any attempts by me always look a bit rubbish!

I know what you mean about not knowing what to do with yourself- feels similar here with DH away.
