Hi LBOX and welcome back! Sounds like a great trip, with lots of goodies too, alw3ays a great combination .
And get your Eve Lom etc back in the places they deserve! You'll still be the same person you were before the birth, and if you're anything like me after the initial blah weeks you'll want to get full swing into 'products' again!
Bag(s) is more or less packed - just need dh now to get moses basket out of loft ; I've been asking for weeks now.
Oh and meant to say good going on snip front with your dh SORKY!!! LOL about brick treatment too

Welcome back LBOT! Have you seen Lottie is expecting twins?!

kookykid · 02/06/2009 20:03

Having a quick lurk and noticed that I serously need to update the list... Can't have IDOB overtaking me!
LBOX - the trip sounds lovely.... and I can understand that misplaced feeling.
Generally I am struggling with work and literally counting the days til I can leave (19 left to go!). My boss is being just hideous and it makes life miserable.
Hope you're all well and LOs and bumps are thriving.
PS: Do you think it's OK to give your children names that begin with the same letter?!

Hi Kooky, glad you updated. I'm not ready to move any further up the list just yet . Sorry your boss is being such a pain but yah for only 19 days to go.

Right, have to pop out to buy a couple of cushions for my first pregnancy yoga class tomorrow. Will try to catch up properly later.

Hope all the LOs manage to sleep tonight so all the mums get some shut eye!

Starshinetiger · 02/06/2009 22:31

Just v. quickly - we were told to give meds 20 mins before a feed, but very quickly cut that to 10 mins, as it was just impossible! Think it's more important with the ranitidine, as that's the antacid. Have fond memories of singing 10 green bottles to a 10 week old while waiting for 10 mins to elapse!
HTH - must get some shuteye before first feed. Hanging on by a thread here! Bottles in sterilising, so DH can have a go giving her one in the morning (i.e. when she's not so crotchety as at night). She literally fed every hour all afternoon and would not settle this evening - I never complain about the weather, but please someone tell me that this heat will let up soon!

sorky · 03/06/2009 05:05

Hello LBOT, welcome back, hope you get some catch-up sleep. Once the baby arrives you'll find a balance I'm sure. My Eve Lom is in the same place, I reclaimed all my space back when the babies left my room

Kookykid, same letter for first name as for surname? Always makes me think of Superheroes , so I wouldn't personally.

IDOB hope you enjoy pg yoga, are you settling in nicely to the new place?

Ses is LL posting anywhere? How far along is she?

LB hope the meds start working soon, glad Star is here for you with similar experiences. How did the mattress fare?

Moos, we have a meeting on Saturday with a potential Architect for our extension, any tips?

Tink, Yay for Britney, hope she puts on a great show for you today!

Star is she anywhere near 12 weeks yet, could it be her growth spurt, or in this heat, thirst?

GYo do you feel a bit refreshed after your short spell out on your own? Hope you feel a bit pampered

Diege, how are you my chick? Hopefully getting some sleep despite this heat.

Kayzr · 03/06/2009 07:21

Morning,

LBOT, Hello!! I hope you have catched up on some sleep. Glad you had a good time!! Can't you make a little space for your favourite thing on the shelf??

Diege, any baby yet???

Tink, I hope you enjoy Britney!!

There is no sun here anymore! I am a little bit but like Sorky I think we could do with some rain.

Diege · 03/06/2009 09:02

Morning Pains gone now, and just back to the usual indigestion waking me in the night. Bracktin Hicks havce stepped up a gear though, so something kicking in I think, albeit very slowly!
SORKY, I think your prayers for rain will be answered today! So much cooler and overcast here - I love it .Dh has been given a list of jobs that WILL be completed this weekend, otherwise I'm going to go into meltdown and get into the loft myself .
Hi KAYZ!How are things?
Going to keep things low key with the dds today - we might go round some of the charity shops in the village and they can pick a toy each, and get one for dd3 (seriously of the big girls' teddy bear factory bears).
Hope everyone is well - looking forward to The Apprentice tonight - 3 hours of it what with the programme before and the one after I have got to hold on for next week's final!

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 03/06/2009 09:22

Morning!

Jules- enjoy Britney. I'm not a huge fan of hers but I love live music and so am a bit

Kay - sorry, we've still got sun here ATM!

Diege - I'm looking forward to The Apprentice too. Love this one with the interviews. Think the final is on Sunday???

Awaiting our weigh in at 1.15. He's cgulping away as I type and if he's lost any more weight it can only be a problem with my milk and I'll have to prepare myself for a bit of formula. I'm hoping for a bit of a gain...

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 03/06/2009 09:30

Btw,Sorky, LBOT - I saw Lottie on the assisted conception thread and she's 8 wks pg with twins

Diege · 03/06/2009 09:36

Hi SES! Apprentice final on Sunday???!!! Assumed it would be the following Wednesday!
Best of luck for your weigh-in; I'm sure your milk is absolutely fine. Have decided not to have the weigh-ins with this one, unless of course concerned about something. Think I only bothered with dd1!
Ooh TINKS had forgotten it was Britney day - enjoy yourself!

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 03/06/2009 09:41

I think there's an England football match taking precedence next Wed, Diege.
How can you opt out of weigh ins? I'm sure we'd be doing a lot better without the pressure of them. Today's is only 48hrs since the last one!

julescantwaittoseebritney · 03/06/2009 09:47

Moosy · 03/06/2009 09:55

Morning all, still glorious sunshine here and warming up nicely already but set to rain for a week from friday

Sorky, jusy make sure you get on well with your srchitect, our first one was a nightmare - he never listened to anything we said (I had to tell him about our ventilation system 5 times before he finally put it on the plans!) - and make sure they're as excited about the build as you are, that way they're more likely to do what you want and to get things going at a decent pace. Oh and that Jellycat cat looks lovely!

Diege, glad you're not hurting anymore but it definitely sounds like things are starting to happen, how exciting!

LB, we had ranitidine and Gaviscon for DD1, one didn't do much without the other but they did work well together. I wasn't given any instructions about when to give the ranitidine though, just 3 times a day I think. I hope the new meds make a difference for your DS.

Good luck with the weigh in Ses, you sound like you're doing well, I hope the scales agree!

Kooky, sorry your boss is being an arse, but hooray for only a few days left!

Feeling less sick each day now, but have started getting cravings, I had to go out specially to get a cornetto yesterday as I'd needed one for 2 days, and today I've asked Mum to get me some super noodles when she does my shopping for me!

glaskham · 03/06/2009 09:57

Ses- i can't opt out of weigh in's becasue of her being small... once they discharge you its up to you when you get them weighed... but i dont know how you can opt out of weigh-ins... if i knew i'd do it!! I'm not worried, she's feeding, weeing enough, pooing is another subkect altogether... but i'm happy with her and i know that once i decided to stop worrying and give up the formula and do it my way then she started gaining much more much faster!!

What i would also say is dont let them make you think giving a bottle of formula will make any difference!! your milk will dwindle and then he'll be getting extra calories from the formula but loosing calories from your milk supply decreasing which wont make a difference!! Please dont give a bottle unless you are prepared to bottle feed 100£ as i can tell you from experience that it doesn't make a difference.

You wont have a problem with your milk- unless your on a crash diet all the calories needed will be going into your milk. Ruby was 8weeks before she started gaining weight properly!! And that was due to messing with formula etc!!

Sorry- i feel so passionate about this now as its happened to me and i dont want you going throguh the same thing- you've worked so hard to get your feeding established- it'd be such a shame to ruin all your hard work with a bottle!

julescantwaittoseebritney · 03/06/2009 09:57

dh is taking bracken to be weighed will let you know.
she had her first try of courgette yest liked it

glaskham · 03/06/2009 09:58

sorry that should be 100%

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 03/06/2009 10:08

Thanks - you lot help me feel more positive that I can do this!! I think if there's been a small gain today, that will be fine. He's about to drop off to sleep (good sign that he's full & satisfied!) so I'll try him in the sling and then give him a good feed in a couple of hours. Just hope he keeps his poo for after the weigh in!!

Glask - have you got any further with your BF advisor role? You're doing a great job with me!

glaskham · 03/06/2009 10:13

I'm just waiting for the next course in my area then its about 6mths before i'll be trained as a peer supporter. Then after that i'm going to be training for the qualifications which means i can run BFing groups, run information sessions/classes, visit the post-natal wards etc...
