I don't know how you do it LB, my hat is off to you matey

Dh went for his appt and is on the waiting list
Apparently the GP said he would have to stay in bed for a week and read books whilst having all meals brought to him , yeah right!

bumpsnowjustplump · 01/06/2009 22:17

PMSL at your dh sorky.... you cant blame a boy for trying can you!!

sorky · 01/06/2009 22:22

Yes the convo ended with me threatening to shorten his waiting list place with 2 bricks, cheeky sod.

sorky · 01/06/2009 22:23

fb is not allowing me on LB, will check tomorrow, something to do with maintenance. Was mid convo with 3 peeps too. How annoying!

bumpsnowjustplump · 01/06/2009 22:36

lol ouch!!!!!! Bugger about fb I enjoy our late night chats

bumpsnowjustplump · 01/06/2009 22:36

farts indeed!!!

sorky · 02/06/2009 08:23

Utterly crap night!
Baby was fine, had her dreamfeed again and went in her crib at 11pm. Toddler woke up at 2am and it all went to shit.
Toddler crying, wouldn't settle. Wakes baby who wants to be fed- won't settle without feed. Repeat at 3, 4, 6 & 7am

Knackered doesnt even touch it

glaskham · 02/06/2009 08:23

Morning- IL's left yesterday morning, then i spent the afternoon with the DC's and my sister & nephew... went shopping- got lots of bargains in Next- so very happy!!

DS is back at nursery today and has his school photo's...

DD2 was weighed on thusday first thing and is now 7lb5oz- that was another 9oz in 7 days!! They're only seeing us every 2 weeks now till she's 8 or 9lb ish and creeping up the centiles again, she's already over the 0.2nd centile line again now!!

Right, need to do the nursery run, will be back later.

Kayzr · 02/06/2009 08:34

Morning,

I now have to go to the GP surgery to see HV. I don't mind too much because DS1 has decided to pull all his toys out!!

I can not find my hairbrush anywhere!!

I hope everyone is ok. Apparently today is the last day of nice weather so I am going out on my bike this evening to make the most of it!!

Diege · 02/06/2009 08:41

Morning! Sounds like dd2 is doing very well GLASK! How did the gold hotpants go down btw? Ditto LB?
SORKY, that is the soirt of night I'm dreading..you must feel like death. DD3 is currently waking up between 1 and 2 times a night, so am bracing myself for the same sort of scenario. How do you get through the day on so little sleep?

LB, feel for you and the situation with ds I think I might also try ff bottle at 10-11pm in your situation. It's actually the norm for mixed feeding babies in Scandinavia, where mixed feeding is very popular, and doesn't seem to interfere with latch etc, esp when the age of your ds. Really hoping you can get some good news from the stronger doses of meds xx

Well I'm feeling a lot better today, although very cross and grumpy, but that's more due to second week of half term kicking in and the hot weather I think . Lots of pressure in pelvis, so thinking the upset tummy was some sort of 'sign', but hopefully I'll make it until 39 weeks or there abouts. Feeling very nervous about the whole thing now, although have to accept there's a degree of inevitability about what's going to happen!
Hope everyone is ok - last day of sunshine here apparently!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 02/06/2009 08:47

Morning all.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea's on how to clean a mattress? DD was put to bed early last night and woke up late so has leaked through her nappy and soaked her mattress!!! It is soaked and smells of wee as well.... I have stripped it for now but need to buy something to clean it with, so any ideas would be a help!!!

sorky · 02/06/2009 08:54

I don't have any idea how I'm coping Diege, you just have to don't you.

LB sorry not sure, all of our mattresses have had a zip off layer for times such as these.

Glask that's fantastic news that she's on a centile

Too hot here already, enjoy your bike ride Kayz

bumpsnowjustplump · 02/06/2009 08:57

Sorky I am sending you lots of energy vibes today... Hope you manage to get a nice early night and relax at some point today. I only have a toddler and baby to look after at times like this and that is hard enough....

Diege · 02/06/2009 09:05

Phew SORKY - maybe carrot of takeaway and wine would help tonight?
LB, all I cxan advise on the mattress front is what I usually do, which I know is a crappy job of it. Strip bed, spray some sort of anti-bacterial stuff on offending patch, scrub, leave to dry with window open and hope for the best! I mean you can't exactly stick it in the washer, but I'm sure there's something better than what I do! (Sorky's zip off covers no doubt!)

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 02/06/2009 09:07

Morning!

LB - sorry hospital appointment wasn't more positive. Really hope the new meds help.
As for mattress, I'm nor sure but would a foaming fabric cleaner help? I mean the ones you might use on carpet or sofa?

Morning to everyone else. Can't remember what else I meant to say (sorry) and am on phone whilst feeding DS. (He will put weight on!)

Another tired wagoner here. Think the wkend with inlaws has caught up with me and I've not been taking naps during the day. Have cancelled a friend coming round this afternoon so I can just focus on getting me and DS on track. Mum is coming over about 11am and I have to say, despite my moans about her in the past, she is being helpful and - dare I say - almost supportive of me BF.

sorky · 02/06/2009 09:14

Oh LB my cuppa is kicking in
leave the mattress, once washed, out in the sun stain side up. The sun will kill any germs, dry it off and bleach the mark out

bumpsnowjustplump · 02/06/2009 09:14

foam cleaner sounds like a good bet. i am also going to get plastic sheet today...

Ses shall we put a date in diary as GYO cant come???

sorky · 02/06/2009 09:17

I think a foam cleaner might be too chemically for her mattress, some shampoo/washing liquid in hot water should do just as well, then stick it in the sun

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 02/06/2009 09:19

Sounds good if we go for next week, I can do Wed or Thurs or Fri. May have British Gas in on Wed fitting new boiler but that wouldn't bother me.
We can always arrange a 2nd mini meetwith GYo & Gruff.

sorky · 02/06/2009 09:24

Morning Ses hope you have a nice relaxing week ahead, sounds like you're determined on the feeding front have a extra 5min nap for me he'll regain his weight soon enough I bet. Glad GP and hv are on board, half the battle I'd think.

bumpsnowjustplump · 02/06/2009 09:24

sorky good point about the chemicals I will wash it this afternoon and put it out to dry....

ses lets say thursday next week then...

Right i am off to music tots now (oh the joy) so will catch you all later..

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 02/06/2009 09:35

Thurs it is then! I'll send you a message on FB at some point with directions.

Sorky - I am a bit determined... Just aware I don't want to be stubborn to the extent that I'm not doing the right thing for DS. I'm sure the GP & HV would put me right though!
I'll grab that extra 5 mins for you later. I do feel a bit pathetic talking about tiredness and naps when I only have DS. Don't know how you manage but I guess you're right, you just learn to cope with whatever situation you're in. Hope you can take it eas(ier) today and the DC are in good form for you.

sorky · 02/06/2009 09:52

Honestly Ses the change from no kids to a little baby is more exhausting and oddly enough four is easier to manage than I remember those early weeks with Dd1

I have no idea how LG&T does it though, she must be Supergal!l

glaskham · 02/06/2009 09:56

LB- hope the mattress dries out for you- we have washable pad things for our 2... they are in fact re-usable incontinence pads!!

Sorky- sorry for bad night- i had a few the last few days as DD2 hadn't 'been' for 10 days!! she finally dirtied her nappy this morning, so hopefully she'll be fine for a few nights now. I know a few nights left me running on empty- totally feeling for you today!!

Took DS to nursery, then i've put a load of washing out, washed the pots, put a load in the washing machine and blown up and filled the DC's paddling pool!! It's way too hot already!! DD2 is in a dress which is like a pretty vest with a skirt on it, she's roasting and she's inside!!

glaskham · 02/06/2009 10:01

Diege- DD1 loves the shorts, but they are a bit too big on the waist (well i did get 5yr when she's just going into 2-3y clothing ) so i think they'll be put away for next summer!! she's got tons of summer stuff that she should have been in last summer (all 2-3y) and they are fitting her beautifully now!!
