Good point kayz, could be for comfort.
On the other hand, she has grown to the edge of the 3-6 month clothes that we started using 2 weeks ago

If it's comfort, do you think she'll settle tonight in her crib?I'm wondering if she's coming into light sleep and sensing me close, so then wanting to suckle, what with it being every hour.
What do you think?

bumpsnowjustplump · 31/05/2009 22:01

Evening all. DD's Aunty had some bad news so couldn't make today so dp and I took ds and dd swimming. They both loved it.

Sorky DS is like this he goes down at 6-7 and then wakes at 1-2 and every hour there after. I gave up this morning and got up at 5 couldn't take any more. So if you find the answer I would love to here it...

Diege · 31/05/2009 22:09

Sounds nightmarish SORKY and LB Nothing to suggest really, other than maybe leaving a minute or so to see if they settle rather than getting them up straight away? But then if it's hunger, that's going to be a non-starter.. Glad I don;t have to think about it all just yet!
Going to bed soon when I've finished the ironing. Feeling really tired, and have an achey heaviness in the fanjo region...maybe head is starting to engage??? Hopefully can get some respite from the heartburn tonight - ot really is the worst I've had it in all of my pregnancies!
Speak tomorrow xxx

sorky · 31/05/2009 22:12

Have just spoken with BF counsellor who had no answers basically.
She said Dd2 is too young to implement any strategies, best to wait until 6 mo when, allegedly she will develop a sleep/wake pattern similar to mine and sleep for a 5 hour stretch.
Thing is she can sleep 5 hours now from 8pm til 1am, but that's crap timing to be frank.

I do vaguely remember with ds2 that he dropped night feeding at 7 mo, so maybe there's something in it.

I'm torn between needing the sleep and trying to chill out about it and say "this will pass", but gawd its hard when you feel so tired.

sorky · 31/05/2009 22:14

Maybe my mantra should be "at least i'm not pg"

bumpsnowjustplump · 31/05/2009 22:19

It us bloody hard sorky and I have been very tempted to give a bottle at last feed. But i am determined not to....... I even tried waking him at 11 the other night but that didnt work as he was then up every hour from 11 and that was even worse...

It is so annoying because he went through the night for a whole week before he hit 12 weeks... so he can do it...

I had the MMR does that mean that by bf i am giving ds some immunity to measels? there is an outbreak in kent and I am worried about ds!!

sorky · 31/05/2009 22:32

yes, you'll give him immunity LB

I know, it's frustrating isn't it? If she would just go back to waking the once at 3am I'd be chuffed!
Dh wants us to try putting her in the crib on his side tonight, but I'm not sure....my instinct says she needs to be close to me....

.....stupid instinct

I know what you mean about giving a bottle, but the thing is it might not do anything more, same as weaning early. It often makes no difference whatsoever and then we're on a path we didn't want to tread iyswim

Your flowers are still cheering me up everytime I see them :D

bumpsnowjustplump · 31/05/2009 22:38

Ah I am so pleased they are still working!!!

Why not try the crib and see how it goes??? If it doesn't work you havent lost anything and if she needs you she will soon let you know..

DS is in the moses basket at the end of our bed until he wakes at one then he is just in bed with us after that...

I want to bf until he has his MMR so will not be introducing formula at all. I am hoping he will then go straight onto cows milk in a beaker!! Well thats the plan anyhow... I am worried that the paediatrician may suggest formula tomorrow though infront of dp!! If he does i will ask what benifit it has for his sickness..

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 31/05/2009 22:42

Maybe we need a list of wagon mantras for various scenarios...
Seriously, I need to be grateful that DS does only wake twice in the night after 11pm.

Sorky & BNJP - good luck for tonight.

Diege - sounds like things are gearing up

G'night all and thanks for your help today.

bumpsnowjustplump · 31/05/2009 22:46

night ses we must make a firm date for a mini meet up.... We can have a good old moan up about men then...

bumpsnowjustplump · 31/05/2009 22:50

i am off now too, or i wont get any sleep tonight...

sorky · 01/06/2009 08:38

I GOT SLEEP!!!!!

She slept downstairs from 8pm dreamfed at 11pm and we put her in her crib on Dh's side of the bed, where she slept until 5am!!!!!
I kept her next to me from then and for the first time managed to sleep whilst she was latched on, we got up at 8am, both if us with smiles

Hope everyone has sunny, happy days

Diege · 01/06/2009 08:41

Morning . Well, I have been awake since 2.30 with horrendous diarrehoea (sorry if you're having breakfast) and feel extremely shaky and weak. Doesn't seem to be lifting either but have dds to look after so can't go back to bed (the joys of a 2 weeks half term!)
I really hope this isn't the start of things as I have nothing packed and piles the size of maltesers!.
Hope everyone else is ok and sorry for me post xx

GYo · 01/06/2009 08:48

Morning

Diege- sorry for the poorly bottom - might be good idea to pack that bag if you can find the energy. Diorlyte or similar might help (might help if I could spell it!)

SOrky, hurray for sleep, its amazing how much it changes everything!

All sunny and good here, going to get my hair done later so v happy. Although I keep really struggling to go back to sleep after DDs 3am feed. The warmth, birds singing and DH snoring make it a challenge!

Im also lying there worrying about sending DD to nursery and whether I will every be able to be away from her long enough/ huge guilt feelings etc to go back to work and thats not til December!! Please slap me to get over it

OP posts:
sorky · 01/06/2009 08:49

Did you eat anything to cause it Diege? I'm sure you know it could be starting with your body trying to clear itself out. Go pack your bag!

What's the plan in case he does come this week?

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 01/06/2009 08:55

Morning

Sorky - that's fantastic that you all had such a good night

Diege - I agree with GYo, get that bag packed if you can. Hope you feel better quickly and that the DDs are on best behaviour.

GYo - yay for getting hair done! Know what you mean too about thoughts of going back to work. I just can't quite get my head around spending half the week away from DS. I guess our thoughts are all pretty normal and we have got quite a few months to try and work it out.

Back to our routine of last week now and DS seems more settled. Don't know if that's just a coincidence... He's asleep in his sling again atm. Mum's coming round about 11 and then HV this afternoon. I keep looking at DS and worrying that he hasn't put on any weight but there's not much more I can do - he's fed really well last night and this morning and is getting plenty of dirty and wet nappies.

Enjoy the sun everyone!!

Cosmogirl · 01/06/2009 09:17

Morning,

Ah Diege sorry for d...I feel your pain slightly though as have dodgy tummy today. Am taking DD for first vaccinations at 10 and am really nervy for some reason. Hope she doesn't have a reaction or anything.

GYo - totally natural to worry about going back to work etc...but as Ses says still quite a while until Dec.

Sorky - well done on good night. I find feeding in bed lying down during night feeds saves my sanity and means I generally don't feel too tired in the day.

juleswastink · 01/06/2009 10:06

hi

sorky - glad u had a good night
diege - oh get packing

in terms of strategies -

neither dds took to dummies both hated them - think important thing is not to give them dummy near to when they are due a feed as may think it is milk they are getting especially when under 6 weeks.

bracken has been sleeping from 10 am - 6-7am since 16 weeks. she would wake a few time in the night crying we would cuddle her for 5 mins then she would go back to bed till 6-7am

lovely and sunny here!! dd1 back @ nursery

off to see britney in 2 days and counting
my bday is 4 days and counting

GYo · 01/06/2009 10:14

Morning Cosmo and Ses!

Good luck with the jabs Cosmo. Ours are next week, bit late. Let us know how it goes.

Ses- glad Ds is back in a routine

Im preparing bottle of ebm for dh to give during my hairdresser visit since it takes 3 plus hrs including the journey. V excited!... can you tell??

Just got to resist leaving dh with instructions for my absence!!

Moosy- how are you today?

OP posts:
GYo · 01/06/2009 10:17

Moosy · 01/06/2009 10:23

Morning all, feeling much better today, tummy has stopped hurting and I just feel empty and weak, and.... I think the MS is fading too - woohoo!

DH has gone off for another day's work on the barn roof, day 4 today! Can you tell I'm excited?

Sorry you're feeling bad Diege, I know just how you feel! Try to keep drinking and rest as much as you can. I second what GYo said, Dioralyte is good, try some if you can.

Enjoy your hair appointment GYo, is this your first trip out without DD?

Glad you had a good night Sorky, I wonder how LB got on?

If you're lurking Nat, I hope you're ok, thinking of you.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 01/06/2009 10:31

Wow! June is the month of birthdays!!

Moos - glad you're feeling better and hope the MS does stay away.

GYo - am sure DH will be fine whilst you're out. Enjoy some pampering time.

tink - where are you seeing Britney?

Does anyone have any ideas for Fathers Day? I was thinking of doing a book of photos of DS and photos of DS with DH from photobox. On the other hand DH's birthday is at the beginning of July so I might wait and do that then...

DS still sleeping in sling...

GYo · 01/06/2009 10:36

Hi moosy, glad you are ok and MS is reducing

This is my first trip out without DD- seems mad but as she feeds so often its hard to go without her anywhere!

Hurray for day 4 of the barn!! cant wait to see progress pictures!
