Morning,

Awwwww Cosmo she is gorgeous!!!

My poor little DS1 has got conjuntivitis. His eye is really watering and gunky. He also has a big patch of red on his eye. Getting drops in is proving difficult.

Hope everyone is ok!!

juleswastink · 30/05/2009 09:17

morning

off to asda then dhs parents over

poor ds1 kay

Diege · 30/05/2009 10:19

Morning!
Wow GYO, 3am post . You seem remarkably chipper though, so hoping you're coping with all the odd hours!
KAYZ, bad luck about the conjuntivitus . Poor dd1 was had it constantly from about 18 months, and out GP was of the school that most cases were viral and therefore drops wouldn;t do much. In the end we just bathed her eyes with salt water; no matter what we treated it with it always seemed to take 7 days to go! Much sympathy!
TINKS, enjoy your day, sounds nice.
Well had a rtubbish night's sleep - woke at 2am because of heat and indigestion, and then I swear baby was trying to turn from head down back to breech. Was very cruel and lay on the side he was moving round to and he went crazy! The whole bed was shaking . Still, I won (for now!).
Meeting up with friend in town for some shopping this afternoon which should be nice, and then looking forward to BGT tonight! Felt very for that poor girl last night, though sensed she had a pushy mother there too which can't have helped!
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the gorgeous sunshine!

GYo · 30/05/2009 11:24

Morning

Kayz- hope ds1 is better soon

Hi tink!

Diege- really feel for your heartburn and baby moving issues. Really was worst bit of pregnancy for me, heartburn that is.

about sounding chirpy. Im finding it ok at the moment, DD is doing fabulously at night. Im probably speaking too soon as she is approaching 12wk growth spurt (10wks tomorrow!) but she's been doing 7pm til 3am. 1hr feed then 4am til 8am. Today she slept til 9am! Meant i got a 5hr stretch of sleep.

Lovely sun here!

hi all thought id check in So busy alot of things going on so havent been able to catch up really. Cosmo april is GAWWWWJUS!!! hope every one is well, will try to catch up but life difficult atm x

Cosmogirl · 30/05/2009 16:52

Hi,

Thanks for all the lovely comments re: April. I'm biased of course...

BB - hello! Long time and all that. Sorry to hear things are tough at the moment. Make sure you take good care of yourself and your little one though.

GYo - sounds like SG is doing well sleep wise. DD went to sleep about 10.30 last night (she is a bit of a night owl and we aren't doing any routine yet) but she went though until 6 am which is her longest stretch yet. She only tends to feed for 10 or 15 mins though and i bring her into our bed and feed lying down so i don't wake myself up too much.

Diege - big sympathies re: heartburn and squirmy baby. Oddly given how sick I felt the whole time I still miss feeling the baby move etc...so strange what pregnancy amnesia can do!

Gloriois sunshine here so I'm off back to patio with my book and DD is napping in her chair.

GYo · 30/05/2009 17:05

LOL Cosmo, I also have pregnancy amnesia ! I'm really missing being pregnant! So odd since I hated it at the time!

OP posts:
SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 30/05/2009 19:02

Cosmo - those photos are beautiful You had such a tough pg but I'm sure it all seems worth it now.

BB - good to hear from you. Sorry things are tough atm. Hope they start to improve.

Diege - I have to say that after how Simon Cowell dealt with the Hollie situation last night, I may have developed a soft spot for him

Tough day here. DS is wanting to feed constantly otherwise he makes his feelings known in his wonderfully noisy way. With MIL & SIL here and wanting lots of cuddles and then with us all going into town this afternoon so they could buy DS presents, he's not had what he wanted and I feel like all my MIL has seen is an unhappy little boy or one permanently attached to my boobs. As usual, this is probably all my problem in my head so I'm trying to stay relaxed and go with the flow. We're home for the evening now and so I can just feed him all evening if necessary. Don't have to worry about tea as DH has just ordered chinese for us all.

Looking forward to BGT which we'll start watching in a minute minus the ads care of Sky+

juleswastink · 30/05/2009 20:51

morning, had a lovely day at friends bbq yesterday. DP got very very drunk !! No it was very nice and a good time had by all!!

I have a day of housework ahead of me now and dd is going swimming with her aunty..

sorky · 31/05/2009 09:05

We had a fab day too, yesterday

Me and the Dd's, yes, both of them, went to the Theatre to see Angelina Ballerina. It was fantastic!
First time Dd has seen a Ballet and she adored it We're looking out for the Nutcracker now.
Dd2 also watched the Ballet transfixed hehe, we had seats right at the front and she could see it all too.

Then we went to a birthday party out in the woods, where there were zip slides and tunnels and nets for the kids to climb, lunch was a picnic there

We all came home sunned, happy and exhausted

Ooh Dd1 also got to ring some church bells. There was a mobile belfry in the City centre and people could go in and have a go at bell-ringing. All in all a very good day

Sun is shining again, hope everyone has a good day today too

idreamofbeanie · 31/05/2009 09:16

Morning Sorky and BNJP,

we had a lovely day in the sun too. Went round to a friends for a bbq around 1pm - we were just going for a couple of hours and didn't make it home until after midnight . We had a great time but DP is def looking worse for wear this morning .

Sorky - it sounds like you had a great day yesterday. I've never seen a ballet, I'd reallu like to but somehow I've just never managed to get round to it. I think I might go and look on ticketmaster now though.

BNJP - hope you had a better night last night. Don't work all day!

Morning,

Sorky, that sounds like a lovely day.

I am so pleased Diversty won!! I did want Shaun Smith to win because he is gorgeous!!!

Lovely day here so probably going to do some gardening.

Moosy · 31/05/2009 09:45

We had a lovely day yesterday too, I didn't feel sick all day, we went to sainsburys and got BBQ stuff and bought the DDs new sandals (Peppa Pig of course!) and I actually felt well all day. Wasn't very hungry at tea time but made myself eat some food (after all, DH had cooked it!) but regretted it at 12.20am when it came out again, violently from both ends and I still have bad cramps this morning.

DH said this morning "I'm afraid I've run out of sympathy, you've had all I've got, the cup is empty" which made me cry, then when I said my tummy was hurting and felt like contractions and that I was a bit worried about the baby he said "maybe it will come out and all our troubles will be over" cue more tears from me and a BIG apology from him. He can be really nasty sometimes and just doesn't think before he speaks. Anyway I felt so bad that I rang my parents and they're taking the DDs to church with them this morning and giving them lunch so I can go back to bed to receover.

Sorry for me me me post, will catch up properly later when I stop hurting.

juleswastink · 31/05/2009 09:53

morning

glad people had good days yest

poor you moosy dhs can be insensitive
dhs parents here in the morning going @ lunch time

i am really glad diversity won, preferred flawless though

Diege · 31/05/2009 09:55

Morning! Sounds like everyone had lovely days yesterday - ballet sounds great SORKY. Nutcracker would be a good one for them next time, think it was the first one I saw as a child. That party in the woods sounds fab too; what a great idea!
IDOB, I admire your stamina staying so long at the BBQ!Sounds good fun
KAYZ, I was also really pleased that Diversity won - how cute is the little boy with glasses! I actually think it was a good thing that Susan Boyle didn't win; she's already launched a career on the basis of that first appearance, and this will take the pressure off a little.Had a lurk at the thread on telly addicts, and smiled to myself when they all started fighting over Simon
Had a great day yesterday. Spent all afternoon shopping with friend, had lunch in Nandos, and bought the usual last minute paper-knickers type purchases. Also discovered the joys of H&M for baby boys ; just my style!
Now just need to find a big t-shirt for the birth - harder than I thought as even sz xxl maternity doesn;t cover my bum and the mens ones I saw reach down below elbows!
Oh and I got last ever in my whole life maternity dress - really lovely H&M sundress from maternity range - I know, ridiculous purchase with just a few weeks to go, but it's sooo hot!PLus can pass on to whoever wants it!
Dh has taken dds to MILs, stopping at beach before hand and I WILL get the last 14 essays marked!!!
Hope everyone is well - any ideas if this weather will last any longer??
Oh and 37 weeks today!

Diege · 31/05/2009 10:01

x-posts MOOSEY and TINKS. MOOS, that's so insenstive of dh - you must have felt very hurt Hope he is making it up to you!

GYo · 31/05/2009 10:28

Im sorry Moosy, thats awful. Hope he is treating you well to make up for it. I had some pretty insensitive awful commments during pregnancy too and its horrendous. Really do sympathise. Sending over a extra fresh batch of brownies to you (if you can face them).

Diege- I love H&M clothes. Got loads of stuff from there for DD last week. Its great as its not all too girly and pink.

Got to run as DD is stirring- bugger hoped to cut the grass

Back laters

Enjoy the sun everyone.

Aww Moos what a shitty thing to say
He'll regret when you remind him of it later on in the pg, I bet.
I agree they all say something along those lines don't they, arseholes

Diege you're officially at term !

Don't watch BGT so have no idea what you're all on about, but did see a youtube clip of some black dancers who were excellent, can't remember what they were called tho'.

We're having some BF'ing issues atm with nightfeeding, I'm knackered

Ooh, Moos, we found Merryday cat yesterday in Fenwicks. Dd1 is well-pleased

Kayzr · 31/05/2009 11:22

Moos, that is awful. I hope you feel better soon. I'd bloody well make him beg for forgiveness on his hands and knees

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 31/05/2009 12:13

Moos - I agree with the others. I hope your DH realises how out of order he was.

Diege - 37 weeks Not long now!

WARNING - I NEED SOME SENSE KNOCKING INTO ME!!!

As you know we've been debating use of a soother/dummy and Wednesday evening we got as far as sterilising one to use on the understanding we would only use one if we were trying to get him to sleep in his moses basket. I also said to DH that I wanted to be there if using it for the first time. (How precious am I??!!!) As things turned out, although he hasn't settled in his moses basket, he had been a lot more settled since and we haven't used it.
Well this morning I came downstairs after leaving DS with DH whilst I got dressed and DS was with SIL with the soother in his mouth. DH just said "Do you see what he's got?" SIL looked confused and said "I gave it to him. I didn't know he had one." I'm guessing that DH pointed out to SIL that he had one and she then used it.
Why has this upset me so much???!! I've bitten my tongue and not said anything as I don't want to cause a scene and upset anyone especially when I feel it's me being unreasonable. It just is really upsetting me to see him with it. Why? What should I do? (MIL & SIL leave in less than an hour) How can I snap out of this?!!

On top of that, I've managed to put some cropped jeans on this morning that I had last summer which I was quite pleased with but DH asked if they were pre-pg ones and when I said yes, he said that I still had lots of weight to lose. Then there were photos taken to show the rest of the family in Ireland and I do look really huge in the photos. Huge boobs and huge thighs

I just want to sit here and cry but I can't. Putting on a fake smiley face...

I'm sorry if this seems a completely insane post, just needed an outlet whilst I'm sitting here smiling...

Diege · 31/05/2009 12:36

SES, I think if your dh knows about how anxious you are about using a soother, he was out of order using one with SIL for ds. I think it's more about taking into account your feelings (or not) than whether you're being overly sensitive if that makes sense. Obviously if you were fine with it, it wouldn't be an issue, but you're not so can see how you feel upset and undermined.
On the weight front, again it must be the day for dh's being arse holes . I would be extremnely cross and upset too, and make sure he knows it. I can't believe you are into pre-pregnancy clothes already! Does dh know the '9 months on, 9 months off' rule??

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 31/05/2009 12:46

Thanks Diege. I'm calming down a bit now.
The weight thing is a reflection of the fact he knows he is overweight I think. When I was about 36wks pg, he said that I'd have to lose all my excess weight within the first or two. I said that I would if he also lost weight and he said that wouldn't be a problem. So far he's made no attempt at losing any weight so he may be feeling bad.

Re soother, I agree that if he'd come and said to me "We want to use his soother" then we could have talked it through, I'd have been involved and it wouldn't have been such a shock.

Underlying this is the fact that DH will often do things that he knows I won't necessarily like, knowing that once it's done, I can't really do much about it. Often it's silly little things but sometimes it's bigger issues like this or like when he asked SIL to be DS godmother when I was only about 18wks pg.

He's taking them to the airport in about 10 mins so when he gets back I'll try and talk to him.
