We're doing half and half here. I am not making loads of stupid purees again. I'll just slightly mash what we are eating.

sorky · 28/05/2009 15:29

GYo I got a voucher for my hairdresser cut n colour and used it before the meetup.

I also got a salon one and a babysitting one, it's a lovely idea I think, giving something to the mum. My sister and mum gave me the hair/salon ones.

Kayz we have had similar probs with our older ATP and have replaced the same inner-tube 4 times in the last 5 years. You've got me wondering now whether that could be the wheel. Hope you get it fixed.

Diege my m/w's stopped shy of the "old, saggy uterus" remarks, but implied the same thing with me towards the end
On the plus side, she shot out wen eventually poked enough Not long now, very excited for you!

Cosmo, if you're lurking, I think you're doing a fantastic job!

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 28/05/2009 15:33

Diege - glad he was behaving today. Long may it continue...

Kay - does your HV think you need to do that to get him to put more weight on? Not as if he's massively underweight! Do what you think is right.

HV just been here and he's not put on any weight in a week!! Really confused as about 3 people have said how much bigger he looks!! (Are their scales really reliable??!) Fortunately HV has a bit of common sense and said she wasn't overly concerned as his jaundice was cleared and he seemed v healthy in every other way.
Does make me worry a little but guess I just need to keep at it and hope he shows some gain at her next visit on Monday...

juleswastink · 28/05/2009 15:55

have this thought that table would go

GruffaloSoldier · 28/05/2009 16:32

Hi all

Have just got back from clinic - Gruff cub is 10 lb 11.5oz. We are cooped up in bedrooms today as Dh and FIL are laying the flooring in the lounge. Very exciting though that things are getiing done.

Ses - a week isn't much, give it another week I'm sure he will start putting weight on again. Re: mini meet I am afraid I won't be able to come either as my mum is coming down from Scotland for a week, this Sunday to next Saturday, but will def have to get together soon.

I used a dummy from 4 weeks with GC as it really helps his colic - apparently the sucking action helps the wind. Really didnt want to but he loves it - really helps the pain.

Gyo - hope all ok with you, hope you are going somewhere nice.

Diege - What will be will be I always say, a lot can happen in 2 weeks though. Hope baby makes his mind up soon though!!

Sorky - did I miss something about Cosmo??

Kayz - sorry about P&T - if you need spares you could probably get them cheap off ebay - although surely yours is still under warranty??

Moosy - congrats on scan!

Tink - you have bought some stuff? thats not like you hee hee

How do you rate the GF weaning bk then?

hi to others have missed

Im struggling with BF again - GC will feed well for 20 mins, sometimes less then refuse breast or keep coming off and crying. Usually I can still squeeze milk out or it sprays out so still there. I end up having to give him formula after feeds after 12 and sometimes he takes the lot so hard to know what he was getting. Was doing so well completley bf then he just started to refuse and fuss so had to ff top up again. am finding it so hard - could just give up but would be so disappoiting after how far we have come

Moosy · 28/05/2009 16:37

Kayz, I got a replacement inner tube from Halfords for £8 so not too expensive! Have you checked the inside of the tyre? I had a tiny thorn stuck in mine that I couldn't see, I had to feel round. If I hadn't removed it it would've punctured the tube again.

Kayzr · 28/05/2009 17:20

Yeah we have done. Will just have to order one next week.

Kayzr · 28/05/2009 17:22

Oh yeah!! Duhhh just got back from WW!! I lost 1lb so that is my stone!!! I've lost 14.5lb in 7 weeks!!

sorky · 28/05/2009 17:22

Cosmo was wondering whether a routine should be in place for her littlestar.
Gruff do you wind him after he starts fussing at the breast?

GruffaloSoldier · 28/05/2009 17:30

hi sorky - i do wind him and sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. he falls asleep on the breast loads at night aswell and first thing!infact he is bfing at the mo and eyes are looking v.heavy - LOL!

sorky · 28/05/2009 17:52

He must be very happy then Gruff
My milk is often low in the afternoon if i've been rushing about and baby works feeds more then.
If he's taking both sides and still hungry then I would top him up too, but I think I would return to more frequent feeding to increase supply

sorky · 28/05/2009 17:55

Hang on in their Gruff it might be his 6 week growth spurt, you're doing really well given his early days

sorky · 28/05/2009 17:56

What a milestone Kayz, well done!

GruffaloSoldier · 28/05/2009 18:00

Ok then Sorky - thanks. I will keep trying then. He has such a temper on him thats the prob, when he starts fussing and I try swap him over he gets a right bee in his bonnet!
He is also 6 weeks and 1 day so you're probably right! So with growth spurts you just feed feed feed right?

sorky · 28/05/2009 18:19

yes & he might need night feeding as well.
usually lasts no more than 5 days

sorky · 28/05/2009 18:19

juleswastink · 28/05/2009 18:57

hi

gruff - agree could be 6 week growth spurt
lol @ spending
gf weaning book is great she basically introduces different foods every 3 days for example

days 1-3 - baby rice @ 11am
4-6 - pear @ 11am then rice @ 6pm
7-9 - carrot @ 11am and pear and rice @ 6pm

she reckons that babys r less fussy when older if offered different fruits and veg etc when weaning.

kay - well done you

GruffaloSoldier · 28/05/2009 19:23

oh I might get that book then tink!

ok then thanks sorky i will give it a go.

right my chinese takeaway has arrived so im off

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/05/2009 20:38

Why are you all laughing about me and TH?????? It is the truth if I had said yes then he would be playing for palace and we would be together now!!!

I have had a great day today. Went to my cousins house and then onto a 1970's park with outdoor paddling pool... DD loved it and wouldn't come out. Both children are soundly asleep already so I am settling down for BGT!!!

Kayzr · 28/05/2009 20:56

Just had a strange phone call from dad. My sister saw that i put a message on moosy's scan pic on fb. So she thought i was pg. She's told loads of people too. Argh!

Never post on MN using your mobile!!! It posts 3 times!!

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 28/05/2009 21:18

Kay - how bizarre!!! Did she not notice it was a comment about someone else's pic?!

Re mini meet up, what about one day the following week w/c 8th June?

Was worried DH would suggest FF when I told him about lack of weight gain but he hasn't. He is convinced her scales were wrong!!
