Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FiKelly · 20/05/2009 08:19

just thought of another positive.. I won't make my piles worse!

runningmonkey · 20/05/2009 08:43

COTE hope today goes well

FI your post just now made me LOL glad you are finding postives as I know it's not your ideal situation

SES lovely bs you sound v happy too congrats

Everyone else hi, sorry for not namechecking all am still half asleep. Hope all are ok and have a good day x x

Tummum · 20/05/2009 09:17

Fi - am that your piles won't get worse !! Keep on thinking those great, positive thoughts

Cote - thinking of you

FiKelly · 20/05/2009 09:28

runningm there's always a silver lining and was well stocked up on germaloids.. enough for post birth just in case. doc even did it on prescription on my request as I prefer the numbing effect that germaloids has that anusol doesn't.. which is the one he'd normally prescribe.

off to keep myself awake and ds occupied by making some cup cakes.. back in a bit..

daizydoo · 20/05/2009 09:53

congratulations to everyone who has had their little ones - they are really coming thick and fast now!

Fi - I had a dream last night that you had your vbac Can you speak to the dr someone before you go in on Friday to see ask them about the reaction you had last time to try and put your mind at rest?

Cote all the best for today.

Momino · 20/05/2009 10:53

Hi all.
Fi, hope you're better today. btw, could you pass me a virtual cupcake if you have extra? i'd make some today but am using extra time to shower and sleep after an unsettled night (my excuse anyway).

survived the morning getting all DDs dressed, fed, off to nursery, etc. i'm just so surprised how i can most (but not all) of the time let the whingeing, tantrums and baby cry go over my head as i try to get dressed or b'fast on the table or bfeeding, etc. as long as i know they're safe, not in pain, etc.

Hope everyone else is well today.

Belgianchocolates · 20/05/2009 10:59

fi I read your birth story and I can assure you that if you haven't had your lo by fri, you'll be in for a Ses experience more than likely. You history of a PPH will also make them a lot more aware of your blood loss and I'd say it's unlikely you'll loose that much blood again as they'll jump in at the 1st sign of trouble. Oh and remember that I dreamed a little while ago that you had a lovely VBAC, now daizy did the same. Isn't that amazing. Maybe it's a sign . Fingers crossed that something happens over the next few days. There were a few others who went into labour after being told their cervix was nowhere near favourable for a sweep. So you never know

ses lovely story about how a C/S can be a positive experience, even if it was unexpected. It's also great to read that you had a lovely assertive mw who made sure your baby wasn't separated from you unnecesarily. Lots of drs are scared of mw, I bet you could tell why!

piles this was my 1st pregnancy without piles for some reason. Maybe because I was better at doing my pelvic floor excercises? They also didn't appear after the birth even though I had a v. quick second stage. Yay!

Wishing cote all the best this morning. Who knows, she might even be cuddling her baby as we write!

frazz Thinking of you. Hope you're OK today.

ReeBee · 20/05/2009 11:19

Hope everything is well with cote.

ses, really good to read a different type of - but still positive - birth story. Congratulations again.

fi, frazz, am joining you on the 'must have the baby immediately' request list... Lovely midwife came this morning, baby has dropped even more and only 1/5 palpable. All fine with me and him. She couldn't do a sweep really though as his head was too far in front of my cervix and she couldn't reach properly. It was starting to hurt a bit as well but I did remember to breathe, thanks frazz!

Hopefully the jiggling about might have had some effect. Although I doubt it. Thanks belgian for your reminder about unfavourable cervix stories becoming new baby stories. 41 weeks is so not what I signed up for!

The MW will come back on Saturday for another go as a favour (she's on call but will fit me in) - surely a sign of the times that I'm pathetically grateful to her for agreeing to interrupt my BH weekend to perform an intimate and uncomfortable procedure which if successful will cause much more pain and inconvenience?!

Booked in for induction next Weds - they wanted me in earlier but have said no and am hoping beyond anything that things are done and dusted by next Weds so I don't need to fight the hosp. It's a full week away after all...

Right, off to eat pineapple while bouncing on gym ball.

Belgianchocolates · 20/05/2009 11:27

ReeBee Make sure it's fresh pine apple AND lots and lots of it too. Keep bouncing, you might bounce baby out!

sophietom · 20/05/2009 11:27

oooops I managed to miss cloves birth announcement, sorry clove and congratulations!

Fi I haven't read your birth story (as I am a first timer and am trying not to scare myself) but I'm sure the team looking after you will be aware of whatever difficulties you had last time and do everything possible to make things go smoothly this time- and you'll be hugging your LO very soon

Hope all is going well for cote today

Absolutely no sign here that a baby could be on it's way any time soon, no twinges, no show, no BH nothing really (although my kitchen cupboards are suspiciously clean and the linen chest has been organised ) I spent over £30 on cleaning products yesterday- must've looked every bit the nesting pg lady trotting round Morrisons with my trolley full of cleaning stuff. (BTW big boxes of fairy non bio on offer in Morrisons for £6!!!)

frazzledoldbag · 20/05/2009 11:31

In labour. Contx every 2 mins lasting 1 min. DH on golf course. Fuck

FiKelly · 20/05/2009 11:34

daisy I have had a debreif with the consultant going through the birth notes of last time with ds.. it was last summer before I conceived this time
and it did really help me.. it meant i could talk about last time without bursting into tears etc. we think there were 2main reasons for the problems. our new consultant this time agrees too. 1st was my pre eclampsia and failed 3.5 day induction which exhausted my uterus and 2nd was negligence of them forgetting to give me the injection to help my hormonally pumped up exhausted uterus do its job and contract.. which is normal practice after a cs. these things were prob the main reasons for my pph etc. not a lot can be done re my anesthesia prob.. yesterday that they put down to me being a cheap date and not being able to handle my booze. the anesthetic apparently makes me totally pissed and then some. my appointment turned into a very long one yesterday to discuss this all and I'll get a long chat with anaesthetist (sp?) on fri am before the cs to see how they can minimise any ill effects/reactions. common sense says it'll be fine.. hormones are just making me silly.

all the medical staff dealing with me for this pregnancy are fully aware of my past trauma as i've made sure to tell them. i'll be glad when it's over though!

Belgianchocolates · 20/05/2009 11:34

frazzled Tell your dh to get himself home pronto and good luck!

frazzledoldbag · 20/05/2009 11:38

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my BS. Have to say I did hesitate posting it as seemed a bit empty without details of waters breaking, contractions, etc but I'm glad I did put it down.
