frazzledoldbag · 19/05/2009 20:18

sorry cross posted with fi. Welcome beby Darcy!

AuldAlliance · 19/05/2009 20:19

cote
Just barging in to wish you all the best for tomorrow.
Will be thinking of you!!

ReeBee · 19/05/2009 20:24

MatthewandBumpsMummy, do you know that Clove had a little girl in the early hours of 17th?? She posted on the last thread and hasn't been on this one since (unless I've missed her?) but a couple of people have picked up on it and congratulated her on this thread. Could it be Clove??

I can't see any Facebook updates so can't be friends with whoever it is - how exciting though, I wonder who it is?!

Rosie, Euromum, I only finished packing my bag on Saturday when I was 40+2.... but I did have it kind of done (and a list of all the things I was missing from it) from about 39 weeks. I think that like Dandy I had a mental block!

Am now reduced to bouncing on gym ball while looking forward to tomorrow's stretch and sweep... the joys of pregnancy!

Belgianchocolates · 19/05/2009 20:42

frazzled Enjoy your chinese. Hope it'll provide enough relaxation for you to go into lalour I think your mw has got a point about leaving work stuff alone for now.

Well, have survived bedtime. Luckily C decided to be good and for once fel asleep after her feed and has been for over an hour noe. That really is unusual 4 her. I've even transfered her from me to bouncy chair to pram and she didn't wake

fi Good to hear you're remaining positive in view of the dwindling chance of a VBAC. I suppose you've had a c/s before, so you know what you're in for.

cote also good luck for tomorrow

frazzledoldbag · 19/05/2009 20:42

ooh cote of course, best of luck. Can't wait to hear all about it

And by the way I want Gok Wan to come and live with me and dress me every morning - just love him!

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 19/05/2009 21:19

fi yes it was baby Darcy! and i already knew that too oh well thought i had some exciting new news but never mind, the birth of baby darcy is still of course very nice news. oh and lets hope your lo decides to make an apperance before next friday so you can have your vbac, but its very good you are feeling so positive about a cs if it does come to that.

good luck 2moro cote hope all goes well and best wishes for you and new lo.

frazzled sorry to hear the sweep didnt really go to plan and you didnt hear what you wanted to but you never know things could still happen for you very soon, fingers crossed for you, i can imagine how you must be feeling by now. and hope you enjoy your nice chinese, please try and relax a little im sure it

belgian glad to hear baby C was good and you were able to put dc's to bed without any stress, i must say your doing a wonderful job coping with all 3 on your own dont think i could ever manage im really worried about how im gonna cope with 2 dc's when this lo arrives.

MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 19/05/2009 21:21

sorry frazzled that should read im sure it will help lo arrive, not quite sure what happened to that sentence!

FiKelly · 19/05/2009 21:29

belgian I am doing my best to be positive no choice really.. have to admit I am very disappointed and have had a good cry and some cuddles from dh now ds is asleep and I don't have to keep a brave face on. I do know what's involved and that's most of my problem. anesthesia makes me woozy and vomity even just a spinal. I also know it will take me longer for milk to come in and I hate needles and those canula things dh is off for at least 6wks after as we'd planned with this possibility in mind.. hoping it wouldn't be needed for cs recovery. oh well at least I'll be joining you all in the post natal from friday..

i am still hoping for a VBAC miracle before then though.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 19/05/2009 21:29

Sorry for being AWOL since birth announcement... Just settling down to life with DS.

Sorry for not reading through everything but congrats on the arrival of all the new babiesand good luck and speedy labour vibes to everyone else still anticipating their arrivals.

All going well here except for MW stressing over weight loss. (My milk came in on the Wednesday afternoon, after he was born on the Saturday and MW weighed him on the Thursday morning and expressed concern that he'd lost 3oz more than the 10% "allowed") He's now started to put on a bit of weight so fingers crossed all ok.

Will try and find the post natal thread and keep in touch a bit better.

In case anyone is interested, BS is here

rosielady · 19/05/2009 21:46

Ses - just read your birth story - really quite lovely even although you didn't get the natural birth you wanted - however what a great outcome! I'm so pleased for you and your DH after what you guys have been through. Great that you got LO latched on straight away too.

Fi I will be joining you with the CS - but next week unless something happens before then. Good luck with everything and at least your DH will be around for the 6 weeks - I remember last time how horrible the first few days were not being able to do anything and feeling so weak, however, I do also remember feeling better much quicker than I expected day by day, and you will be up and about before you know it.
My DH will be off for two weeks but as self employed will have some flexibility to help out as and when after that.

rosielady · 19/05/2009 21:47

Cote best of luck for tomorrow too!

FiKelly · 19/05/2009 22:04

ses just read your birth story(lovely btw) and thanks for reminding me that a normal cs is not like my em experience last time.. hoping to get a mw like yours too

pulapula · 19/05/2009 22:04

fi- sorry you are upset about the prospect of a cs, but i hope if it comes to that then it will be a positive experience. Do you feel vomity due to your BP dropping, as they can give you something to help with that? I felt very sick with my first elcs but fine last time. Also i am amazed how quickly i have recovered- I know i have been taking things easy but haven't had any pain relief since day 5 (no pain at all). Also my milk came in on day 4 which was still quicker than my one vaginal delivery but slightly longer than my last elcs so it doesnt always follow. Take care.

SpangleMaker · 19/05/2009 22:04

Ses great birth story!

Frazz enjoy your takeaway. Sometimes just realising you're stressed takes some of the stress away.... if that makes any sense

Cote good luck for tomorrow. Do you remember we were on the same TTC thread? Seems like ages ago now!

Momino · 19/05/2009 22:04

evening all... anything happening with anyone?

cote, good luck!
ses, congrats on you DS, am about to read you story.

fi, try not to worry and to rest. i'm glad your dh is off 6 weeks, that will help greatly.

my DH is back to work tomorrow so i have to coordinate feeding Harper, getting myself dressed and looking human, getting dd's dressed, breakfasted and run to nursery, i'm sure i won't get them there until at least 10am.

I'm so grateful they still go to nursery 2 days a week - it will give me a chance to give Harper one to one time.

FiKelly · 19/05/2009 22:33

i am concerned about my reaction to the spinal as so much went fubar after my last cs. I don't know why i'm so bad with anaesthesia... i'm even worse with a general. The one and only time i had one of those i did a spectacular exorcist! If anyone is feeling brave enough to read my nightmare last time it's half way down this page common sense tells me last time was unusual and highly unlikely to happen again...

detsy · 19/05/2009 23:10

hallo girls - just popped in to say hello, ot been on for a few days as all a bit chaotic! Spent the first couple of days at home wondering WTF had we done but all settling down now

Congrats to the newest arrivals - clove I think is the only one since my last post? But its very hard to keep up!

Frazz hello you - stopped texting as knew it would be a PITA, but you know where to get me if you want to! Hopefully you are feeling calmer, I think what Belgian and Spangle have said is very true. So in the order of being told off, can you please scrap the work stuff for now and spend these last few peaceful days (maybe hours) chilling out and taking some v well deserved me time. Did you go for the reflex and have you been pressing your thumbs as prev instructed??! If I don't hear about an arrival in next day or so, I then hope to see some Frazzy posts about having been for a lovely lovely massage, manicure, etc etc whilst DDs at school/nursery....OK???

And stop the bloody ironing frenzy as well

ight off to look at FB to see baby pics and have a quick catch up on the other side thread as well..

Nite girls, talk soon xx

Fi I understand the worry and concern, its v natural at this stage esp as you so want a VBAC and I think our brains start playing overtime havoc with us at this late stage. I'm sure that whatever the outcome you will be fine - at least you know your difficulties with anesthesia and if you do need it, the staff will be totally clued up to give you the best solution - good luck honey and try to think positive - big hugs xx

Tummum · 19/05/2009 23:19

Evening all. G now off to sleep after feeding since 7pm .

Ses lovely birth story - sounds like a text book CS. Hope you are getting on well with your DS

Frazz how frustrating for you. Can I add some encouragement to you that the sweep I had 2 days before going into labour with G the MW said I had no chance of going into labour in the next week (!) because my cervix was so unfavourable (she couldn't actually do a sweep!). 36 hours later I was cuddling G !

Monimo good luck for tomorrow. I am slowly getting used to having 3 DC around and we are sorting out a kinda routine in the mornings and at bed times. All other times are complete chaos, but I suspect that is the normality of having 3 kids !

Cote best of luck with tomorrow

Belgian sounds like things are settling down with you

Fi have just read your BS and can understand your reticence (can't spell - sorry) this time over. As you say, it's really really really unlikely to be that bad again. Try not to worry (easy to say, difficult to do I know.)

Right, need to sleep whilst DC are sleeping. Night all. SOrry for mega post.

tummumdetsymominopulapula thanks I know you're right that it's v unlikely to be like the last time and more than likely to be like ses's which sounded lovely.. and I will hope my milk comes in on day 4 too. hormones definitely playing up as all teary again this am..

I had to get up to pee at 4.30am and can't get back to sleep.. i'm trying not to worry honest. ds is now awake so no chance now. think we'll have a quiet day.. he's still full of the cold and coughing so will give pre school a miss (can't face the oh you're still here.. and having to update everyone on the cs tbh) good chance I'll be able to snuggle with him in bed after lunch for a snooze.

CoteDAzur · 20/05/2009 05:43

hi everyone. I'm just checking in to say I'm at hospital, about to take the Betadine shower and be prepped for CS. A bit scared now but holding on to the thought that little one will be here soon. Thank you for your thoughts

FiKelly · 20/05/2009 06:13

cote all the best looking forward to hearing how you are later..

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 20/05/2009 06:42

cote - thinking of you and looking forward to hearing your announcement!

FiKelly - I can understand your anxiety given your previous experience but hope - if it comes to a CS... - you find this time completely different.
My milk did take an extra day to come in causing MW concern about weight loss but he seems to be fine now and has started to put weight back on without me giving him any top ups.

FiKelly · 20/05/2009 07:08

ses I've decided hormones have a lot to answer for! at least with ds awake and his usual active self it takes my mind off it for a bit. delighted your milk came in and you've not needed to top up.. you must be so pleased. gives me real hope that everything will be different this time

Reggiee · 20/05/2009 08:03

COTE thinking of you. Can't wait to hear your news.

SES lovely bs

FI echo everyone else - every birth and experience is different. Am sure all will be well.
