Hi all

Still here. Still massive. Still 2 days to due date.

No sign of anything happening. I am now convinced this is a girl, as only a girl would be evil enough to keep laying on nerves and causing her mother immense shooting pains in her legs and groin. That is, when she's not hooking her feet under my ribs and causing immense pain. I may be wrong, but my experience of having girls this far leads me to this conclusion........

Congrats febes yawining clove I'm thrilled for you and not at all

Frazz I am sending you hugs. I am sorry to do this to you, but I think you need them.

Has anyone heard from Polony?

Fi how you doin' girl? I beat you too it with blotted's news, I was too excited.

runningmonkey and cote ouch at the hands.

chocbunnies and how you doin' girl?

Bored bored bored bored bored bored.

yawning detsy ebsmom febes and blotted congratulations to you all on the arrivals of your lo's

good luck to anyone else in labour or nearing due dates.

i am 38+1wks today, and am already very fed up and umcomfortable so can really feel for those of you fi Mini ReeBee Lazzer
Nauseous Frazzled Hypatia and HtheH
(actually everybody else coz im the last due in may!) that are nearer due dates than me. would really like this lo to come at least a week early as we have a christening to attend on my due date and ds's b-day one week after, would like to have had a little time to adjust to a newborn before then.

really had enough of being pregnant too, still feel ill every morning and finding it difficult to manage with ds when dp at work, feel like a really rubbish mummy at the mo, coz have no energy, patience or time for him really as using any time i do feel ok to sort baby stuff. the poor little bugger has to get up himself and waych tv (when daddy's at work) until i can manage to feel well enough to get up and im sleeping so much and still feeling exhausted all the time, midwife checked my iron count but it was fine.
sorry me me me moan over

well sending hugs to anybody feeling fed up and umcomfy, and positive labour vibes to those in labour or nearly there.

take care all x

runningmonkey · 18/05/2009 17:48

cote, hope it goes well on Weds. Bet you are glad the end is in sight.

No not being monitored for anything, only swelling is my hands, bp is on the low side of normal and ankles and other body parts ok. I will mention it again to MW tho next time I see here - its more annoying than anything.

Ooh while I remember - re HR. My lo has been routinely around the 140 mark but according to latest scan its a girl... perhaps bucking the trend?

Tummum · 18/05/2009 18:28

Hello everyone.

Congratulations to Febes, Yawning, Blotted and Clove. Fab news. And ROFL Detsy at your birth story

Sympathies with your MIL2b Saus. Mine has stopped asking if I have had LO yet (!) and has switched to giving me sh1tty advice, based on her marvellous parenting skills, on how to look after G. Oh, and she keeps on asking when she can come back to stay and see the DC again. I keep on saying to DH that will be never then. Unfortunately, I won't get my own way on that one

Been a crazy day today. Had an appointment with the mental nurse this morning, then DD1s sports day in the afternoon = I am shattered and DD are shattered. G is sleeping at the mo, which means he will be up all evening. Sigh. But at least I have some time to put DDs to bed and get myself a bite to eat. Oops, just been really shouty with the DCs. Should put down the laptop and actually give them attention whilst I can.

minimenace · 18/05/2009 19:02

Hi all - well despite no new arrival, I have had a fab birthday. Lots of visits from Friends and family. nice pressies for meeeee. yay!
Great idea FI to postpone actual celebrations as been bought a couple of bottles of champers, from friends hoping I would be able to drink them by now. arrghh I could just glug a whole bottle but am resisting

thanks for all the b'day wishes, Momino, Spangle, Looby, Fi, Reebee, RM
FI how did you get on with your lottery tickets ?

Looby - I did the same thing with passport pic last time. Impossible to use a booth so don't waste money trying. I layed DS on the bed on a white sheet and snapped away with camera until I got a good one then cropped it to good size and uploaded to website. they sent them really quickly in perfect passport size.

Rosie My MW today has encouraged me to fight against booking a CS at my appointment tomorrow. She feels I will be much more positive and as I am practically in labour there really is no need.
There is no medical reason why I can't just book another appointment for 42 weeks with the consultant and review the CS situation then.
She did another sweep today and I have started cntrxs again already so fingers crossed they turn into the real thing tonight. I'm off now to bounce on the ball
Fi are you getting a sweep soon ?

FiKelly · 18/05/2009 19:05

lazzer +3 days for me today .. it's utter pants isn't it?

grumpy you beat me to it only because I was otherwise occupied in dh inducement activities here's hoping blotted made it home today

Momino · 18/05/2009 19:08

Hi all.

re: heartrate, Harper's was around the 140 the two times I asked.

rosielady · 18/05/2009 19:09

Matthewandbump dont be too hard on yourself _ I feel the same - tired, uncomfy and twinges etc so have scaled back on the entertainment of DS front. letting DH do as much as he can when he comes in from work, and just taking life a bit slower, easier during the day when he is with me. I am 39 weeks tomorrow so have another week or so to go and have just decided to try and go with the flow.

All will be well soon enough ...even although I was fretting last night - why are we doing this? why do we want the upheaval when everything is so good?...but can't change our mind now and have to convince myself that I will be capable of loving another LO as much as DS!

FiKelly · 18/05/2009 19:18

minim glad your b day improved. re lottery tickets I had 3 to check and had only 1 number on just one ticket.. so must be just lucky in other ways

at my hospital review tomorrow I'm going dressed with easy access in mind for a sweep. hoping to persuade them although knowing what they felt like with ds (very ouchy climbing up bed to get away lol!) I'm hoping my hypnotherapy will make it more comfortable to bear? at the very least I'd like to find out how ready or not my cervix is seeing as lo is not even remotely engaged (grrr)

Momino · 18/05/2009 19:19

being lazy but a general post, i've got fingers crossed (but not legs ) for those of you who are overdue or due soon. the last weeks are so pants, it sounds like you're so fed up and I hope things happen soon.

I'm very impressed at all of you who are involved in induction 'activities', mainly of the sex type as even now, let alone at 9 mos pregnant, i can't bear to think of wanting It. i really hope this changes...

Momino · 18/05/2009 19:22

Fi, i used the hypnobirthing breathing for sweep and it did help. it also helped that my MW is very considerate and talked me through the whole process so i knew what to expect.

FiKelly · 18/05/2009 19:29

momino it's utter desperation tbh! we gave up the 1st time as trying to work out how to do it with my shape of bump was laughable and killed the mood it turned out our memory foam mattress is great for sleeping but too squishy for my unbalanced bump weight in some positions lol! as long as we avoid the bed it's possible

FiKelly · 18/05/2009 19:36

momino had you previously had sweeps with the other dc's? do you think is it easier due 2nd time around too?

Momino · 18/05/2009 19:49

fi, no - this was 1st time i had a sweep. MW didn't say how 'favourable' the conditions were (of my cervix, that is).

i do think relaxation helps immensely. the hypno cd really helped me through labour as well. though it didn't take away the pain, it really helped me to cope and be in control. and i wasn't even an avid listener to the cd!

FiKelly · 18/05/2009 20:23

momino really good to know the hypnotherapy helped.. have been v good at listening to it lots but can't really remember much so I hope it's sunk in anyway! I'll do the breathing and relaxation if I can talk them into doing a sweep and will be able to compare. I lost count of the amount of sweeps they did trying to get everything going last time! so have gone from lots to none with this pregnancy

Blottedcopybook · 18/05/2009 21:06

Hey everyone!

Congrats to all the other new Mummies - I was keeping up by reading on my phone but it isn't easy to post from it so apologies for not namechecking. Detsy you did make me absolutely gut myself laughing when I read your birth story - my thing was blowing away the leaves on the autumnal trees with every contraction ;)

Greer and I are home, my fajita is absolutely fine and I don't feel bruised or anything. My bum is a completely different matter though! The PAIN from the piles is not even funny. Anyhoo, I shall update with my birth story when I can sit for longer than a minute or two and in the meantime there's a nice picture of my daughters on my blog.

FiKelly · 18/05/2009 21:45

blotted your blog photo is gorgeous and well done on making it home today too.. ouch with the piles. I'm a bit concerned about mine I have to admit. I have intermittently been using the germaloids but have at least one that's been very persistent worried now they'll get horrendous?!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 18/05/2009 21:51

That's a gorgeous photo Blotted she looks like a lovely, big, healthy girlie.

I really love the one of your DD below it, though (I see that facial expression a lot in my house).

Piles ummmmmm yes, bane of my life. Dreading them being worse after childbirth.....

Fi You dirty girl. Actually, I dragged DH upstairs Sat afternoon, whilst the girls were both out, for a spot of labour bringing on stuff. Didn't work, obv, but he didn't mind .

Still fed up here, ankles massive, hands sore, bump painful, back killing me. Just randomly knitting squares with vague intention of making some form of patchwork, can't get my head round anything more complicated.

rosielady · 18/05/2009 21:51

Blotted pic of daughter and babby is beautiful - poor you - ouch hope the piles clear up soon.

FiKelly · 18/05/2009 21:59

grumpy rofl.. it's the only bit of action dh has had in months! don't think he could quite believe his luck..

Blotted that's a great photo of your gorgeous girls. Hope the piles get better soon.

Blottedcopybook · 18/05/2009 22:10

I've always had problems with piles whilst pregnant but this is the first time that they've actually been an issue post-delivery. I think it's because the pushing stage was so ridiculously quick and powerful but I have hopes that they'll just pop back in!

rosielady · 18/05/2009 22:14

Dandy your pics of Hector and your daughter are absolutely beautiful - sooo cute together.
