Hello all, congrats to alapala, rivermoon, reebee, euromum and chocbunnies (hope I haven't missed anyone out)

I am still here still pregnant with absolutely no signs of anything happening, no show, no BH, nowt!

My folks still installed on campsite up the road but DPs parents went home today. What a relief! It has been really hard work feeling like I had to keep everyone entertained and I felt like under pressure to have the baby whilst they were visiting. I think DPs mum thinks I have deliberately withheld the baby!!!

Am enjoying vegging out in front of Gok and then Mary Queen of chazza shops tonight

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 21:22

Jennster I even ensure socks are the right way round and in correct pairs for washing and hanging on the line.

However, I am a complete slut housework-wise, I can live in a complete shit-tip and not be too bothered, but if DH pegs out incorrectly or doesn't wear socks that are a) a pair b) the right way round and c) non-holey I get very fretful.

He also puts the wrong clothes in the wrong drawers.

Oh and I did carefully put all the days of the week babygros in ascending day order Monday to Sunday in the drawer

I've just upset my mum, she's all hurt. She keeps talking about coming here when I've had the baby, ie Thursday. But I don't want her here . I'm awful I know, but the thought of her being here when I've just had the baby is appalling. She's just retired, she lives alone, how horrible am I? What do I do??????

Sohietom hello fellow incubator . How are you doing??

Momino · 02/06/2009 21:30

did you have to bring up the custard conversation again?

[slinks back to post-natal thread, shaking head and gagging]

Momino · 02/06/2009 21:32

oh, before i go, congratulations reebee! Felix is such a lovely name. Oh, I do wish we had a boy. but not so much that we'll have another .

sophietom · 02/06/2009 21:42

Hi grumpy not feeling too bad here but really hoping I get some sign soon that baby is ready to come out. I keep getting a foot in my side and am convinced that the baby is bracing himself against my sides determined not to budge an inch!!!

IKWYM about family visiting, it's lovely that everyone gets so excited but you feel like you just want to do your own thing and not have to worry about anyone else don't you? Having people fussing around you just drives you mad- does your mum live close enough to just pop round for a short while or will she have to stay?

Jennster · 02/06/2009 21:45

Ahh now I do pair them up properly on the line, and ruthlessly go through the odd sock bag and send straglers to odd sock heaven...

Jennster · 02/06/2009 21:47

You know where I am if you want to escape sophietom. And I might even make some biscuits and not eat them all before the end of the day.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 21:52

sophietom My mum's about an hour away and doesn't drive, she wouldn't have to stay, but she would probably feel she should stay a good day or so to make it worth it .

I'm feeling awful, but I don't really want anyone visiting (I am a grumpy old cow really, not very good with having people in my house ).

This baby is still bobbing about, not engaging. I hope the induction works tomorrow.

We're just far too cosy.

reebee big congrats on Felix.
grumpy good luck tomorrow. And to everyone still incubating...

We need you all on the post natal thread NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 21:55

Jennster yes to ruthlessness. Although then you will find the other half of the pair 2 days later

I made flapjacks today for tomorrow, there are 2 pieces left

sophietom · 02/06/2009 21:56

ooooo biscuits- yum!
My mum is going to be round tomorrow (although you would be welcome to come here if you are free) or if am still pregnant could meet up on Thurs

Momino · 02/06/2009 22:01

grumpy, at your mssg on postnatal thread.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 22:04

Couldn't resist Momi but did manage to post it in the middle of a serious conversation you were all having, I'm so sorry. I have been there with both of mine though - I know how you feel . I've had to put both of them down safely in their cots and just go into another room to calm down. I've had the thoughts of chucking them out of the window - the stuff that people don't like to admit to.

Jennster · 02/06/2009 22:12

sophietom Going to my Mum's tomorrow. Will make some more biscuits for Thursday. Let me know if I'm still welcome then.

sophietom · 02/06/2009 22:19

grumpy difficult then with your mum hopefully you can put her off for a few days. My mum and dad live in Cornwall (I'm in Lancashire) so they are stopping on a campsite nearby in their caravan which is good as I still have my space. I'm not sure how I would feel about having anyone to stay at the house. They have to go home for a few days over the weekend and I think my mum is going to be very disappointed if I have the baby at the weekend.

Good luck for tomorrow

Am I going to be the only person left on this thread?

Belgianchocolates · 02/06/2009 22:20

To come back to the socks. Mine have to be pegged out in pairs too. Even worse. I have to hang out the washing in size order , i.e. dh's t-shirts first, followed by mine, by ds's, etc... Pants together per owner, same for socks.
I'm not all that ruthless with the odd socks though, I keep them hoping their friend turns up some day. I give up after about half a year.

grumpy lol at you shouting on the p/n thread. Good luck for tomorrow too

Sophietom Hope your baby comes soon. Your inlaws picked a nice weekend to visit, same for your parents. It's been nice camping weather. I know what you mean about parents visiting too. My mum kept saying she was at my house for nothing, because I kept being pregnant, even though her help was just as much needed before I gave birth due to my SPD. In the end C did appear about 5h before they left for home!

Bedtime now. Lets hope C is going to go for another 5h sleep tonight, though for some reason I doubt it.

sophietom · 02/06/2009 22:21

x-posted jenn I'll text you thurs
Hope you are well x

SpangleMaker · 02/06/2009 23:28

ReeBee congratulations!! Love the name Felix - it was on my list but DH overruled because of the cat food.

grumpy custard... you must be desperate! You know what, I want to go back to my ante-natal class when they asked us to think of ways to bring on labour

Re socks etc, well, I'm one of those who would happily go with chaos all around me but always peg out DH's socks in pairs, and the days-of-the-week ones in order. What that says about me I don't know. And DH would never wear them on the wrong day, in case he 'blasts a hole in the space-time continuum'

SpangleMaker · 02/06/2009 23:28

Grumpy good luck for tomorrow!

SpangleMaker · 02/06/2009 23:31

Ooh, here I am talking to myself on the ante natal thread when I had my baby 10hrs into April. That's dedication!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 23:42

Spangle hey you with the oldest baby!! Harvey'll be walking by the time this little one is born. Loving your dedication.

DH is still giggling at 'blasts a hole in the space-time continuum' - he asked what I was choking laughing about. He did give me a look though - he thinks I have some very strange foibles. Well, yes! I do feel better now I know it's not just me pairing up, pegging by size, storing by ascending day order.

I would love to stand in front of an antenatal class (with lots of first-timers) and say 'well, to bring on labour, first you get some custard, then you get your man's............'

I'm getting excited now

good morning! any babies last night?

sophietom, don't worry if you're the last person on the thread, a lot of us with babies still visiting here to see how everyone is. i try to post on both but sometimes lose track of which thread i'm following.

grumpy, you ready? hope you got a good night sleep.

who else is left?

Jennster · 03/06/2009 08:41

Morning all. Good luck for today Grumpy. I will be thinking of you in my disorganised chaos.

sophietom Just thought we might even have the same mw. Hope something happens for you today.

Reebee Congratulations! Lovely name.

FiKelly · 03/06/2009 08:47

yay! reebee many congratulations on felix. fantastic news

frazzledoldbag · 03/06/2009 08:49

No, no grumpy. The instructions for custard-tampering should begin .....
First go out with DH, eat far too much and drink a bottle of beer. [feel a bit lively after this]
THEN
bring out the M&S extra thick custard and........

Socks - I (gasp) like wearing odd socks (giggle) (but usually only under knee high boots) - am a slut
but I don't let my kids wear odd socks.....does that make me a bit odd?
And I don't do pegging out either - in the tumble drier in my house. [bad lady]

Also I too had thoughts of chucking DD2 out of window when she was tiny and screamed for about 22 hours out of every 24. In fact I'd have given her away quite cheerfully to anyone that would have taken her up to about 4 months. That's bad I know, but suspect a touch of PND was lingering at that point. And lots of my friends felt the same too. It passes, thank god.
This time though I am truly in love with baby H from word go (helps that he is angelic most of the time tho).

I should be on the postnatal thread shouldn't I? OOPs.

Actually I only came on for a minute to wish grumpy luck today and see if running had had hers.
GOOD LUCK GRUMPY GIRL - don't forget your eyeliner!
