Oh I missed running. I await Mr Running's news .

Frazz I made hot & sour soup but it dint work. Bah. DH might tweak my nipples , he probably wouldn't need much persuasion.

I think I'll stick with the IOL now. As I said to DH earlier (imagine excited little voice) "ooh I can take the right day of the week babygros now". I have packed Wednesday and Thursday, no worries about baby wearing the wrong day of the week, would send me into a tizz.

The girls are more excited about going to their friends' houses to sleepover tomorrow than they are about the baby. Typical!

just got home and seen runningm's post.. I know you've gone but hope it goes well and look forward to your news later

FiKelly · 02/06/2009 17:05

grumpy our hospital car park was £6 a day it's awful.. and there were never spaces in the maternity one so I'd have the trek from the main one. by this time tomorrow you'll be nearing the end of being pregnant

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 17:11

Fi It's lovely when you brave the first public bf and manage it!!

I am hoping that this time tomorrow, I am sitting with a pessary up my fanjo. How pleasant .

Just going to make some of my patented 'labour' flapjacks (lots of dried fruit and seeds, so 'healthy') to take with me.

I said to DH that I can start getting scared about pain now, DD2 hurt like mad, she was so quick.

Hi everyone,

Hurrah - a birth announcement here... Felix Jack Stewart arrived eventually at 1.30am on Monday 1st June, weighing in at 8lbs 7.5oz.

We came home last night but it's taken us a while to make sure we're happy with his first name! (Middles are family ones)

Relieved and ecstatic, will do birth story at some point. Everything fine but not to plan so am a bit sore!

pulapula · 02/06/2009 17:44

congrats reebee, look forward to hearing your story (ouch) and seeing photos.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 18:21

ReeBee Many, many congratulations, I am delighted for you , looking forward to the photos and story when you're ready. Oh and another lovely name - does our thread get an award for best names?

reebee - CONGRATULATIONS on Felix. Lovely name - on my list too but have a (step) nephew called Felix so we bottled out of using it. I agree grumpy - the names on this thread are awesome.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 18:47

reebee congratulations! Is that our first june baby?

grumpy If it weren't for the IOL you'd have no choice but to pack ALL days of the week in your labour bag so baby has got the right vest

hospital parking fees don't get me started on that. Where I work it's £6 a day too and I had to pay that to work in the place!! I only got an out of hour parking permit, there's a huge waiting list for the any time one. Normally I parked off site and walked the 10min into work, but when pregnant the SPD meant I had to park on site and pay! At £6 a day that cost me a fortune.

Belgianchocolates · 02/06/2009 19:28

lol grumpy Awesom would be an awesom middle name! As for self induction techniques, how about eating Frazz's hot and sour soup while jumping on a trampoline and tweaking your nipples. That might do something.

frazzledoldbag · 02/06/2009 19:29

Why not just go with 'Awesome Johnson' as his name (presuming it's a boy of course - do you know what you're having???can't remember if you do?)
Don't think you could get away with it for a girl tho

Or [frazz has marvellous brainwave] what about Orson Johnson?????
[pats self on back and smiles smugly]

[snort]
[capers off to the kitchen swishing tail happily]

frazzledoldbag · 02/06/2009 19:30

yes belg good idea and she could wash it down with some of my special recipe 'tampered-with custard'
[gag]

frazzledoldbag · 02/06/2009 19:32

[laughs so much frazz jiggles baby H too much and baby H pukes down bra]
[stops laughing sharpish]

Belgianchocolates · 02/06/2009 19:39

Frazz lol, great idea for dessert!

Awesom Orson Johnson? Or is that a bit too much?

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 19:46

Frazz we don't know if it's a boy or girl, I want a boy now just to call him 'Awesome'. I'll pass on the custard, thanks. Now that sentence could be taken a couple of ways, couldn't it?

Jerk chicken pittas and salad probably won't have the same effect as hot 'n' sour soup 'n' 'special custard' but I'll give it a go. I mentioned nipple tweaking to DH, he rolled his eyes and said 'well, if I have to'. Then tried to pounce.

OH SWEET JESUS NO!!!!

'Orson Awesome Johnson'

Belgian Seriously, I would have packed all the days of the week. I am THAT sad

grumpy I know. I remember that conversation from ages ago and know you shudder at the thought of my dd wearing the wrong knickers on the wrong day, like she frequently does

pulapula · 02/06/2009 19:59

You lot are so funny, i'm sat here sniggering (my mum probably wonders what i'm up to or maybe she's too engrossed in Emmerdale).

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 20:23

belgian How could you remind me?

DH sometimes wears odd socks just to irritate me (and I've noticed DD1 does as well with a smirk on her face)

pula are you going to explain the custard to your mum?

OP posts:
pulapula · 02/06/2009 20:27

Grumpy [fnar fnar shoulder snigger snort] - That's a no, but i did tell DH about it first time round . Luckily we were booked in for a elcs so he didn't want to do anything that might induce labour...

Belgianchocolates · 02/06/2009 20:28

grumpy I couldn't bear odd socks either. Now that's not right, lol

Jennster · 02/06/2009 20:43

I wear [whispers] inside-out socks sometimes

Jennster · 02/06/2009 20:44

And I noticed before I put them on too. In fact they are often inside out in my sock drawer.... I am such a slut.

Jennster · 02/06/2009 20:44

and knickers too

pulapula · 02/06/2009 20:49

OMG jennster how could you! Pants and socks have to be right way out and socks have to match - what are you thinking...

DH also continues to wear socks with holes in and usually puts DS1s socks on inside out grrrr
