Good luck chocbunnies

hello all - been feeding Josh like a maniac all pm and had our first walk today - all of about 100m and back and knackered now - very disheartening!

posted some pics of Josh on my facebook page if anyone wants to see him.

catch up with everyone soon once the haze lifts I hope!

sausagenmash · 01/06/2009 20:07

grumpy - pot noodles - mmmmmmm. Thats a point - they'd help my constipation..!

Wonder how choc is doing...

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 01/06/2009 20:29

Wonder no more sausage

Ladies, a birth announcement:

chocbunnies gave birth to 9lb 13oz Corey Landon Faulkner at 17.35 today.

Now may we all please take a minute to bow down to the absolute awesomeness of this girl:

He was born at home after a 50 minute labour without any pain relief, the Gas & Air was broken.

Wowsers!!

She sounds very happy, understandably!!!!

saus it was the chicken and mushroom pot noodle, apparently it's not as nice as the chicken satay!!!

Rage Against The Machine - perfect for 2nd stage of giving birth. Yes, I am as tragic as you music-wise Did you hear the album in full on Zane Lowe a few months back? Awesome (I must stop saying awesome - DD1 has taken to saying it and I can't help myself)

Hello luverly ladies - huge congrats to chocbunnies my god what a bouncing baby

sorry I can't keep up any more - not even switiched pc on for several days and getting major withdrawal symptoms!

Grunpy hallo girl - hope the grunge downloading is going well - its a def change from the plinky plonky tinkling water and twittering birds birth music of olde..

Going to quickly whizz backa few pages to get the general gist of things before someone small (ish) starts demanding things from me.

Big congrats to all the other ladies who have popped recently - think thats alapala, euromum, rosie whom I haven't mentioned before....hope thats everyone

Good luck to those waiting to pop - will def not be long now, I know what its like hanging about on a antenatal thread when all start wandering off to post natal one by one - you will soon have your little tiddlers in your arms - big hugs (what are non MN hugs BTW??) xx

Taraa

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 01/06/2009 21:57

Well pula I think runningmonkey will be before me, all the mullet-shaking she's been doing.

My babies just take after me, they're lazy.

OP posts:
Momino · 02/06/2009 06:08

chocobunnies, congratulations! hope you're resting now.

grumpy, won't be long now[says quickly trying to think of other supportive things to say]. is it tomorrow your induction? you must be ready enough that it will go quickly.

HOpe everyone else well today. gonna be another hot one, hurrah! hope you're all able to enjoy it. Or, if you're like me, enjoy the only time I appreciate the coolness of a victorian built house .

runningmonkey · 02/06/2009 08:19

Still here still shaking the mullet
DH has taken today off so I think we'll go for a looooong walk before we ring hospital to see if they can squeeze me in.

grumpy you still here? I kind of hope you are but also don't in the nicest possible way!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 09:02

Still here! Morning everyone.

DH is coming with me today, off for (I think) CTG monitoring, S&S, etc at the Maternity Day Unit.

I suppose I'll actually get to see where I'll give birth - never bothered going to see the Maternity bit of the hospital, as I presumed I would be having this baby at home.

Momi my induction is booked for tomorrow, have to ring at 3 tomorrow to see if they can fit me in (they're very busy - everyone getting pregnant on holiday like me, I guess!). I've been meaning to ask whereabouts in York you live, just sheer nosiness! For some reason, I see you as a Fulford person? I was brought up in Huntington, DH and I lived in about 8 different areas of York over the years, but ended up buying a Barratt House in Acomb (all we could afford).

Currently just shaking my mullet (I had a blonde mullet when I was about 17) to 3rd and Bird and realising that there are no children in the house and yet I am watching 3rd and Bird.

Detsy Hello gal, how are you doing? Yes, running and I may start a new craze for 'Birth By Death Metal' - I can see it catching on (lace-up PVC trousers optional - yes, I did have a pair, again when I was about 17, I loved them ).

Well, a couple of days and hopefully everyone will have made the transition over to exhausted milch-cow status, wishing we were all pregnant again because we need sleep

Running THE END IS IN SIGHT FOR US........

OP posts:
Momino · 02/06/2009 09:52

Grumpy, living off Bishopthorpe Rd, about 1.5 mi from the racecourse. Would love to live in Fulford and have seen some lovely period townhouses (a bit beyond our means, I'm afraid). we almost moved to Acomb but the house fell through and we found one this one which was surprisingly affordable being so close to city centre; but then, it is directly on the pavement (get a lot of noise through the single-paned sash windows, grr) with a tiny yard (poor dog!) so would love to move further out for more space for the money. not really a good time to move, though .

hope you have a relaxing ( again) day seeing as youll prob have a baby tomorrow .

frazzledoldbag · 02/06/2009 12:16

chocobunnies - congratulations - that's AWESOME [steals grumpy's favorite word and runs with it]
What a fabulously quick labour - well done you and welcome little Corey x
grumpy oooh, I love Third and Bird! (so does DD2, fortunately). Not so keen on mullets tho. Best of luck at the hosp today.
detsy WHERE HAVE YOU BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN? Hope all ok. Am also rubbish at keeping up at the mo, but will try harder. No idea where the time goes. Hope your song bird has now departed. Catch you later. x
running enjoy your walk - and good luck!

Right, better get off my bum and go do something useful before nursery run and baby H wakes up demanding more booby. Can't wait to hear about more new babies...........come on girls you can do it!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 14:00

Well that appeared to be a pointless waste of time.

Someone tell me why I needed to pay £5 to park at the hospital, walk what felt like 4 miles to the Maternity Day Unit (as far from the car park as possible), wait around for an hour, be strapped to a CTG monitor for 30 minutes and, well, that's it. What does that tell them for tomorrow? I wasn't examined or nuffink. Oh I tell a lie, I had my BP and temperature taken? And the room was incredibly hot and it was full of complaining pregnant women .

So, I ring up at 3 tomorrow. Woopdedoo. I'm off to double check my hospital bag, which I packed half-heartedly, 'knowing' I'd be having the baby at home.

There was a girl there who was having to come in for daily monitoring, as they were concerned about the baby's growth. She was 31 weeks and her bump was the size of a normal 16 week bump . I hope she's ok.

I wonder if running has gone in for her IOL?

momi I know Bish Rd area well! I used to work off Scarcroft Road and had many friends 'round your way'. Still have you pictured in a Fulford grand townhouse (this is how you look on your photos), one of those beautiful 4-bed ones .

Hi Frazz, Hi Hugo!!!!! I'm packing full make-up kit in hospital bag, seeing as Frazz raised the glamorous birth-picture stakes . Now, have I got time to have my hair done?

OP posts:
Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 02/06/2009 14:01

PS Frazz, you look awesome on your photos.

OP posts:
sausagenmash · 02/06/2009 14:22

Oooh congrats, choc! What an amazing labour!!

Grumpy - nah, beef and tomato pot noodle is my fave. Mmmmm.... lush....

runningmonkey · 02/06/2009 15:20

Quick post am off for IOL now. Have told dh he will have to update you later... He is scared

frazzledoldbag · 02/06/2009 15:28

Hey grumpy thanks! Amazing what a bit of fake tan and blusher can do. Baby H says 'HI' - well, actually he's got hiccups at the mo, but it kinda sounds like 'HI'!
Poor you - boo - they didn't even give you a sweep at your appointment, I'd have thought that might have done the trick at this late stage?......... Also at £5 to park - ours is £1.50 and I thought that was bad enough. £5 is AWESOME.
(By the way you look spookily like one of my friends - and she says AWESOME a lot too) [frazz makes spooky coincidence face]

Mmmmm could quite fancy a pot noodle though - I like the chinese chow mein ones.
Just had a baked potato, cheese, ham, 2 plums and 2 kit kats - and that's just lunch. Am eating like a PIG at the moment. Oh well - who cares.
Not me
Right sorry just saw the time - will be late for school run. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

frazzledoldbag · 02/06/2009 15:29

BTW quickly did you try to hot and sour soup suggestion grumpy?
I can also recommend jumping up and down.
Oh and tweaking nipples. Although that's quite dull.
Bye.

frazzledoldbag · 02/06/2009 15:31

Although maybe not with your Elvis being so bad (jumping up and down I mean).
Right AM GOING NOW.
Stop talking, stop talking, stop talking frazzzzzzzzzzz

frazzledoldbag · 02/06/2009 15:31

oooooooh running cross posted. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

FiKelly · 02/06/2009 16:03

just a quickie.. hope everyone is coping with the heat today.

I've made it out this afternoon to our small marks in the town centre and took back a bag I got for my birthday.. not my taste. ruched fake leather in metallic silver. now sitting having a cold drink in our local park with dh ds & giving g my first public breast feed! feels so normal and went for the layered vest system of clothing which is working a treat.
great to be out and really enjoying our new family

not long for the rest of you now.. sending you all get things going labour vibes
