detsy · 11/05/2009 07:58

go flippi.... Break 8 may spell for us!!

detsy · 11/05/2009 08:01

right, so we have blotted, dandy and flippin looking promising overnight

Belgianchocolates · 11/05/2009 08:03

Morning everyone.

Minimace your calculations were right and it's looking good for you.

After a quick 2h labour which hit me like a tun of bricks and which I'll discuss in more detail later on, I had a gorgeous baby girl at 4.49 at home (wouldn't have made it to the hospital even if I wanted to). The little girl, who'll probably be named Claire, weighs 9lbs 10 oz/4.390kg and ouch and has been loving the boob since birth. She doesn't seem to want to come off I hope it's not a sign of things to come! Better go back to her. I just thought I'd let you all know

Belgianchocolates · 11/05/2009 08:04

I meant to put a in there for minimenace, not minimace

FiKelly · 11/05/2009 08:10

flippin ooo sounds like things are happening! good luck

chocolatebunnies · 11/05/2009 08:14

Congratulations Belgian !

FiKelly · 11/05/2009 08:15

wow congratulations belgian that's fantastic. have a well deserved rest and look forward to hearing all about claire's arrival

Jennster · 11/05/2009 08:36

Wow belgian that's amazing. Congratulations. I love the name Claire, and ouch at her size!

Good luck flippin

Nada here. Off for another long walk.

Febes · 11/05/2009 08:43

I'm still here too but what lovely news to wake up to.

Belgian You made it just before your mum left well done!! Claire is a lovely name. Can't wait to hear more details. Have we had a long labour on this thread yet??

Flippin and Dandy Hope things progressed for you over night can't wait to hear the news.

Daizy Wow what a great story!! You were amazing to get to 10cm with only a tens machine!!

I had strongish and regular BH last night but clearly they were just BH as I woke at 4am feeling fine. No shows yet. I have a MW appointment at 1pm today so I'll try to get a sweep or something.

daizydoo · 11/05/2009 08:54

Congrats Belgian - thats great news!!!

emmabemmasmom · 11/05/2009 08:56

Whey hey belgian Oh congrats! Claire is such a pretty name too It was funny, I checked FB first and saw the news, but catching up from last night I was reading your posts not knowing if you were in labour or not...was even reading it to DH saying 'She will be holding her baby is 6 hours and she doesn't know it!!!' lol Made me smile...glad you are doing well and can't wait to hear the apparantly short story!

Good luck to anyone else who may be in the throws of labour...

I am doing much better today. We went to Ikea yesterday which was nice and then ended up going to dinner. DD loves going out to eat so it was nice being able to do something like that with her before she has a sister! DH was very sweet and nice all day too which made it hard to be mad at him lol He got up with her this morning and got her breakfast and now he is putting Ikea stuff together while I sit on my butt lol So, much better mood all around!

Euromum I can totally relate to how you feel. We lived with my FIL for about 2 years!!! It was not easy at points, and I can remember more than one moment where I thought I would loose the plot. Hope it is not for much longer

This morning I woke up and my fanjo hurts...it is weird and sore like I was kneed in my sleep or something...odd...

Hope we have more babies before the day is up!!! (not mine thought!! lol)

minimenace · 11/05/2009 09:10

Oh my goodness BelgianC I have huge tears rolling down my cheeks here ... What wonderful news, I'm so glad my prediction worked out and that your mum gets to meet baby Claire before she leaves today. do you think maybe she might now extend her stay just a couple of days ?
you must check facebook for the spelling of my name ;) surely just a co-incidence !!
Can't wait to meet her once you have moved over my way. xxxxx huge hugs now I am beaming for you through the tears

hope everyone else is going okay too.

Tummum · 11/05/2009 09:10

Oh Belgian that is just fantastic news. Congratulations and well done you and welcome to the world Claire. 9lb10oz... owch !! How is your PGP / SPD feeling now? Was it immediate relief for you or are you still recovering from labour?!

Another fast delivery girls... I wonder if there is some trend going on here?

Flipping and Dandy sending positive labour vibes your way.

Well, it's D day here. DH left for work at 5am and so far it's not been too bad. G didn't get to sleep until 1am, and I think it's because I had a really really really hot meal with chilli yesterday for lunch and it went through to my milk. I don't normally need to watch what I eat when BF but I'm pretty sure he didn't like the chilli as he kept on screaming when I put him on the boob, and he does normally love his milk. Note to self, don't eat chilli next time ! So far this morning have got all DC up, dressed, fed, out to school. Have also hung out washing, put another load on, emptied bins & dishwasher. Knackered now and it's only 9 !!

Also D day because my new healthy lifestyle starts today. It's my 10th wedding anniversary in 8 weeks time (yes, I got married incredibly young!! ) and a good friend's wedding on the same day, so I want to look nice for that. I have put on 2 stone this pregnancy so I need to start being more careful about what I eat from now. So no more chocolate from today. Honest !

Have a lovely day everyone

Tummum · 11/05/2009 09:16

Oh and forgot to say huge congrats to you Daizy too - as someone else said, you did cope with the pain and did amazingly well to get to 10cms on your own. Hope that things are settling down with your LO.

ReeBee · 11/05/2009 09:17

Wow, how exciting! So much news....

Congrats belgian, you must be thrilled - am so pleased for you - what great timing in the end. And only 2 hours; am v

Daizy - lots more congratulations, sounds like you did brilliantly; if a bit of noise was as bad as it got then who cares?!

dandy, flippin, fingers crossed for both of you and looking forward to hearing some news shortly.

Nothing whatsoever here but am not due until Weds so hey ho... Like you, Fi, am convinced that sod's law dictates he's going to hang on until Sat and arrive on my birthday on Sun!

Off to clean windows. Or sort out paperwork. Woo hoo. There truly is no beginning to the excitement in my life at present.

frazzledoldbag · 11/05/2009 09:24

OH MY GOD BELGIAN - HUGE HUGE HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!

Can't wait to hear the full story and am so delighted your daughter has made an appearance in time to meet her Grannie after all. You know what though - it's so strange, I was awake till about 3am with BH etc and kept thinking about you - must've known something was afoot........

Anyway am utterly delighted for you, and love the name too. I'm also delighted that you've continued the quick birth trend - please can I have one too, and sooooooon?

Can't wait to hear about dandy flippin and blotted too. The excitement is all too much.
Detsy honey, how are you this morning? Been thinking about you too............lovely labour vibes going your way.

Right need to get organised and get the baby's wardrobe built. Oh and quite fancy a bit of ironing.......(an alien has taken over my body and made me like housework at the mo - don't worry it won't last!)

Oh and a quick question if anyone can advise - I think I've got thrush (sorry, yuck, I know) so bought some Canesten yesterday and have been using it since (plus used the applicator full of cream last night) - it says it should clear in 3 days but am really worried about passing it to the baby during delivery - I'm planning a water birth so should that make it less likely to pass it on? Or should I just insist of getting Nystatin (?) after birth to treat baby with (assuming the baby comes while the infection is still there?) Am just worried as thrush in babys mouth and my nipples is NOT something I want to have to deal with if I can poss avoid!
Sorry to ask this at breakfast time!

cloveofhislife · 11/05/2009 09:24

Morning all. Thanks for the welcome. It will be great chatting to others in the same boat!
Congratulations to you all who have had lovely little babies
I am officially due today. And not had any signs or symptoms of this little one arriving any time soon. Every morning I wake thinking...ok, another night of no contractions . Both my previous dc came at exactly 37 weeks so I have been expecting this everyday for the last 3 weeks! I cannot believe I made it so far and could even go another 2 weeks!!
Got the midwife coming today as I would like a sweep.
Been trying everything myself (sex, curry, internal and oral EPO, walking, caulyphylum (sp), clary sage in bath, belly and pillow, acupressure points ~ nothing works!!)
Good luck to you all who are also wanting labour now

Clove

frazzledoldbag · 11/05/2009 09:27

oh and daizy - you are a TOTAL STAR - amazing birth story and who cares about the noise - if it helped you cope then that's all that matters. CONGRATULATIONS - hope you are enjoying your new LO and feeling a bit less 'hit by a bus' (great description of how it feels btw). x x x xx x x x xx

frazzledoldbag · 11/05/2009 09:29

clove I've been very rude and don't think I've even said 'hello' or 'welcome' to you. Sorry . Congrats on being due today - fingers crossed for some labour action soon!

pulapula · 11/05/2009 09:30

belgian what great news- i was on here early doors for any baby news, so was disappointed when there wasnt any, but then i log on again and see the news! So glad your LO arrived whilst your mum was still around. I will update the birth announcements now!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 11/05/2009 09:37

Yay Belgian

I am so happy for you, just in time for your parents to see her too

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well , up with what felt like mild contractions a lot of the night, amounted to nada, zilch, zero, nuffink. Gah and bah!

Good luck to those in the throes, congratulations to those I've missed (haven't read through properly, just saw BC's FB announcements and nearly broke my waters in excitement .

Still full of whatever sinusy/chesty thing I've got, but counting down now - let's see, if I go 2 weeks over like I did with the other 2 , I have 23 days left of being a big, fat, wheezy, groany, grunty, moany, whingey, cake-chompin', heartburn-sufferin' heifer. And then I will become a clapped-out old milch-cow

Tesco awaits - important yellow checked school dress urgently required for DD2. Just what I need. The I'm going to put my feet up and watch crap tv I've recorded.

Welcome Clove to the super-quick labour club
