Oh and I forgot to say Dandy - poor you having to have little one back in hospital - hopefully things will settle down soon and you can have some normality with home life. Sending big hugs to you and Hector.

Momino · 17/05/2009 17:06

afternoon all.
DH has taken DD1&2+dog out whilst I feed Harper and catch up on MN news, email etc.

Pula, thanks for doing the PN thread. i'm that I was too lazy and very happy you started one - hope you don't mind!

dandy, I hope we see you back on this thread this evening which would mean you're back home with LO. it will be nice once you can settle down.

Rosie, sometimes I have those flashes of one of my LO's dashing out into the street (we live on a busy one)... one can't even imagine. try your best to put it behind you.

we're having another of Those Days. DD2 is teething and a nightmare, dd1 is ?? and a tantrummy nightmare. Both DH and I are tired, irritable, etc. I think DH now feels very guilty that I will have to do this on my own when he's back at work. not his fault! we both played some part in this 20 months-between-children malarcky (sp?) .

Hi everyone. Hope everyone has had a lovely sunday. Dh is coming back around 6 today and we'll go out for a meal. Looking forward to that

C has been a lot less demanding today. She clearly went through a 1 day growth spurt or something yesterday. She was weighed today too an has only lost 5% of her bw. I also went out with the dc to Asda and couldn't resist getting some pink things, because C has been in boring white since birth.

frazzled blotted It must be so frustrating for you two. I hope things will kick off soon and that you'll be cuddling your own little one by the morning

Dandy I hope the jaundice is not too bad and that it can be treated at home. My 2 1st ones had it, but fed frequently and woke up for their feeds, so i never had to go in. Ds lost more than 10% too, but luckily I had a chilled mw and she never worried about him.

sausage I don't beleive that babies follow their father's arrival pattern. My MIL had 3 late babies 2x 2 weeks late and 1x3 weeks late. DH was 2 weeks late. None of mine were that late. DS was 5 days early, dd1 was 2 days late and this lo 5days late.

Anyway. Better get ready for the big meal out as a family of 5. Don't know what I'll wear, because my mat stuff is to big, can't wear a dress due to feeding and my pre-preg stuff is way to small

Momino · 17/05/2009 17:28

Belgian, very impressed you went to Asda with the DCs! how did you ever get out of the house with 3 children in the 1st place? I'm going to seek your advice when I get thrown into the 3 children thing later this week.

reebee sorry I missed it was your birthday today when I mentioned Emmabemma

minimenace happy birthday tomorrow

dd2 at 3 days old won her first pass the parcel prize today. A packet of smarties which her siblings polished off.

Momino · 17/05/2009 18:06

jennster, how you finding adjustment to having 3 little ones?

OP posts:
ReeBee · 17/05/2009 18:36

hello everyone, thanks loads for all the birthday wishes and messages; it's lovely to read them all!

Have had a fab and very relaxing day. DH has been a star; he made a lovely brunch and we've just got back from an early dinner out in York which was delicious. We even managed a small amount of shopping (shoes and sunglasses; what more does a girl need?). DH also did extraordinarily well on the present front - even though I told him not to bother I was very glad he did...

I have some champagne in the fridge and am about to pour a glass - the perfect way to end a lovely day - yay!

Can you tell I'm really not bothered about being several days overdue and with no signs whatsoever any more?! Plenty of time to worry about that next week.

hope you all have nice evenings, sorry not to namecheck but the TV and fizzy wine are calling me... xx

Jennster · 17/05/2009 18:59

momino I just started typing a response, and then all hell broke loose, so this is my tailored response. Up until this afternoon, dd2 has been sleepy and not feeding too much. She is now feeding voraciously. DD has been very good so far. Ds is being a little s**T. He has never been a naughty boy...until now. Kicking and throwing things, especially food at dinner time. Got to go

sausagenmash · 17/05/2009 19:02

Evening all - we've got toad in the hole on the way - woohoo!

Rosie - so sorry, forgot to say re your accident, I do hope you're ok. Sounds absolutely awful, but thank God all round that everyone was ok. Hugs

Have got a text from Dandy - the hospital has given Hector the all clear, so they're on their way home... hurrah!

Belgian - your'e right, I don't think that there is any rhyme or reason to how and when babies arrive - they're just going to come when they're good and ready... (saying that, dp has said that we're having curry a few times this week, keeps offering raspberry leaf tea, and we have a few pineapples knocking about... sheeesh)

Momino · 17/05/2009 20:48

jennster, finally getting quiet moment to comment as well.

dd1 & 2 are both being excessively whingey and difficult. though they give Harper kisses an d attention, i wonder if their behavior is about adjusting to a new baby ?

sausagenmash · 17/05/2009 20:57

Hope all the May Mums who have had their LOs pop back on here occastionally... or is everyone relocating to the post natal thread now? Am feeling a little abandoned...

We do need a new thread soon, though....

Tummum · 17/05/2009 21:03

I'm here.. please don't feel abandoned Saus Monimo & Jennster DDs are being a PITA. Not listening / doing anything they are asked. I am hoping it is attention seeking and will adjust. Doesn't help that I am more shouty because I am so blimmin knackered

pulapula · 17/05/2009 21:08

I'm still checking in on both threads saus- just didn't want to go on too much about new babies when i know many of you are still waiting for your LOs to arrive.

minimenace · 17/05/2009 21:11

Hey Sausage I'm still here and will be for a while longer. ;)

Thanks Jennster - there's only one thing I want to arrive for my b'day tomorrow.

Happy 40+10 day tomorrow Febes although I'm sure by now you have already beaten me.

Officially I'm only 40+6 but 40+10 on my own dates.

Frazz how you doing ?

I'm STILL in latent labour - hoping now for waters to break so it can finally develop.

Momino · 17/05/2009 21:13

Sausage, i'm here too.

tummum, i'm more shouty as well. And when I yell at the DDs, it seems to make matters worse but we're all losing our temper so quickly.

OP posts:
FiKelly · 17/05/2009 21:32

I'm here too but have had visitors tonight unexpectedly..

Belgianchocolates · 17/05/2009 21:41

momino Don't be impressed with my trip out with 3 dcs. It was a matter of survival . The 2 eldest needed to be let out and they love ASDA for some reason (prospect of sweets or toys maybe? ). I wasn't on a schedule so just went out once everyone was fed and changed etc... I've discovered it takes me an extra 15 mins to get out with a baby. So I'm slowly learning to take that into account.

Momino Tummum Yes, I'm not nice mummy either to the eldest 2. I do lots more shouting than a week ago. I think it's tiredness + stress that the baby brings along. I'm sure it'll all settle once everyone gets used to their new positions in the family. Car journeys are the worst. Last week the fights were about who gets to sit in the back of the Zafira, now they fight about who can sit next to the baby... sigh...

Minim Frazz Blotted I hope things speed up soon and that you'll be able to join us on the p/n thread too. I'm checking both threads too, because I still want to know what's going on with those of you still waiting for their babes.

detsy · 17/05/2009 21:49

Helllooo x
Bus has left now and all is quiet ish - Lotti has another bout of hand, foot and mouth (bloody nursery) and is under the weather poor tiddler. Archie is fine, slight jaundice and congestion but otherwise bouncing, feeding really well and pretty calm and settled really. 1st night at home was very unsettled, think he liked his perspex cot and tropical hospital temperature

So thought I'd post my birth story before it all becomes too fuzzy, so here goes....

As you know been showing and minor ctx for weeks. Decided to hike up my caulophylum to a 200 c dose on Thursday eve - so took 3 pills over 3 hours and did lots of thumb acupressure point pressing - seemed to do nothing so went to bed as normal.

Woke up at 6, stood up to go to loo and started leaking at a heck of a rate - assumed it was waters. Got back in bed and had a ctx, thought nothing of it but 5 mins later had another and then another - all lasting a min and 5 min apart. Told Robert who sprang into action (full on flap ) I said i was going for a bath... and rang mum (birth partner no 2)and sister (babysitter)

Walked downstairs naked with the iphone contraction timer - now 3 mins apart and lasting just over a min and quite painful - ie hang onto furniture and concentrate like mad on golden lights and elastic fanjos...

Rob came down in undies and started to reflap about me being naked and mum and sister turning up (I ask you??!) He then couldn't remember how to hook the tens up, grrr. Meanwhile I was outside in garden in pouring rain, throwing up on the patio (yup still naked)

Mum and sister turned up, mum started flapping about me being naked and the frequency of contractions. Got dressed in a half arsed fashion to shut everyone up - flimsy vest. flip flops and joggers - got in car. Big problem - couldn't sit down, 20 min journey hanging onto sun roof, mooing and omming a lot.

Arrived at hospital right on rush hour, peeing down, can't get out of the car so end up hanging onto car door - joggers hanging off arse as couldn't stand pressure on tummy and flimsy vest flapping in gale force winds. Mum and rob dash off to get me a wheelchair tho they know i can't sit down and leave me hanging half in half out of car. End up kneeling on wheelchair. omming VERY loudly down corridors

Admitted to delivery immediately - guess it was pretty obvious I was actually in labour. Examined at 830 and found to be 8cm. Got on bed, on knees had tens machine cranked up and adhered myself firmly to gas and air. Thought about the mooing comments on fb and dasiy spending time on hands and knees in car park as i was mooing for bloody england - didn't know i could make such a racket

Ctx were coming fast and furious and were very intense but found the tens machine and gas great - could not stand anyone touching me anywhere or even talking in the room sp kept telling all to shut up (how rude)

Huge huge uncomfortable pressure from waters and was desperate for MW to break them but she was reluctant to do so. Mum and her were watching the business end and suddenly huge explosion which reached to end of the bed and almost drowned my mother which was quite funny

Then within 15 mins i wanted to push - several massive pushes and his head was born - I was twittering about being scared and MW was shouting at me to open my legs - bit of a phobia about being spread eagled when in pain...but makes giving birth a bit problematic

One contraction later and Archie was born - he had a hand by his face so hence the slight trouble in squeezing him out!

All good but then had retained placenta so ended up in theatre with spinal block for removal and 2nd deg tear (partly due to Archies arm and helped along by country veterinary practice of arm up fanjo to detach placenta!! Thank the lord for drugs!!!!
