Jesus, epic post ahead!
Jennster I love lemon drizzle cake! There's a more specific recipe for that on my blog as well which I think makes a slightly lighter cake than the jaffa cakecakecake. Ooooohhh now I'm really in the mood for cake! Also, I nearly wet myself at 'Fucker' - what is her name?!
saus If it's any consolation my DS1 had to go to SCBU for a little while after he was born and it was scary, but you how rare it is for a baby to be born unwell and nobody expecting it. The stage we're at now you've got a pretty much fully cooked LO in there and it's statistically most likely that you're going to be 100% fine. Chin up my love xx
Llare Good to hear you sounding so chilled out! I co-slept with all of mine too and when you're breastfeeding it's just so much easier! When I had DS1 they still had nursery nurses on the ward, and one of them showed me how to get him latched on whilst I was lying down and I honestly could kiss her now. That is the only reason I've breastfed three DCs so far and stayed relatively sane!
Also, exercise-wise. If I were you, I'd honestly give it a couple of weeks purely because you're still bleeding. With DD I felt fantastic after her birth (actually drove myself home just hours after having her) but we went out for the day that weekend and by the end of the day I was nearly passing out and my lochia had got really heavy. Play it by ear but listen to your body.
Belgian You poor love, how are you feeling today?
Febes I've heard that rogue bra wires can stop washing machines spinning? (Ah, just seen that it was DD!)
Grumpy It's ok, me and my kittens aren't offended I promise ;) Two of them are ginger and DH seems to think we're going to struggle to get rid of them which is just a crying shame... I said we should keep one since they were born on DDs birthday but he's having none of it.
Apparently DS1 told his teachers in graphic detail about watching the kittens being born and how we had to tie off the umbilical cords and cut away the placenta. Lucky teacher! I hope she's not squeamish.
Momino Cake sounds yummy! I'm definitely an advocate for cake and tea whilst breastfeeding. Mum has to keep her energy up too! Saw your post about Harper's latch and falling asleep - is she jaundiced? If so that could be contributing to her falling asleep. Rubbing her ears between your fingers or playing with her toes might encourage her to wake up - I had to do that with DD every feed for the first week or so.
Jael Good to hear you're home, big hugs for you and I hope you're feeling better soon
Reggiee Tongue tie will definitely be what's causing your nipple pain, poor you. Hope it gets sorted quickly for you both
Ses Oh no! Good luck with your scan.
Alapala How's your DS today, poor sausage? Ear infections are just the worst for tiny tots aren't they?
Cote I don't understand, why would you take antibiotics if there's no infection? Antibiotics are really powerful medication, they wipe out the good bacteria as well as the bad - I'm not sure why you'd want to damage your immune system 'just in case'
Helen Don't worry! I don't think anyone expects everyone to keep up once baby is here - it's a whole other ballgame! How's R getting on now?
Euromum Have a hug for you too
Dandy I'd have been dead on my feet if I'd had a day like yours yesterday. Can you take a day at the weekend just for you?
Detsy Well done you on your basket liners! Good to hear that things are progressing for you too, how exciting!
Frazz Missed you! Hope you're feeling a bit chirpier today
Minimenace Awwww what a nightmare How is your foot? The loose bowel thing was how my labour kicked off with DS1 but he was my only natural labour, sorry to hear it didn't come to anything for you.
Tummum I can't believe you were making a cake whilst in labour! Well done you though, your birth story sounds amazing
1stMrsF CONGRATULATIONS!! I can't wait to see pictures, what fantastic names (and weights!)
Aquababe Congratulations!
