Momino lovely, inspirational birth story, thank you for sharing You did fantastically well, really glad the hypnotherapy cd worked for you. I only managed one listen, which may be why I needed gas & air for the last bit . Actually, the breathing really does help manage the pain. I learnt breath control from years of (intermittent) yoga and it was a huge help. When she saw me on the g&a the mw who delivered H said she thought I was a professional, whatever that means!

sarahken bargain! I paid full whack for mine and haven't used it yet, but I guess I will at some point. I'm led to believe it will encourage your labour but I heard you have to do it for ages, like an hour at a time! I think it's good to encourage your milk though in any case.

Thought i'd update the list with momino's pink arrival

SpangleMaker LoobyLou36 Reggiee EmmalinaC llareggub gert2a Jael Divedaisy and momino just wanted to congratulate all of you on the births of your babies. cant remember who ive already said it too as have no hope of catching up again but didnt want to miss saying congrats.

sending best wishes to all those who are getting very close now, good luck and cant wait to hear your news too.

im just really fed up now and still feeling so crappy everyday, just want it over and cant believe ive still got at least 4 weeks to go more likely to be 6 knowing my luck. im never doing this again!

sorry to be so down and negative on such a lovely exciting thread! im prob just gonna stay away now till i can finally tell you my baby news but wont be for a while and im sure all the rest of you will have your gorgeous babies by then so congrats in advance!

llareggub · 02/05/2009 20:30

Congratulations Momino and well done! What a great birth story and I am incredibly in awe at your lack of pain relief.

Also massive congratulations to gert, jael and divedaisy on your new arrivals. I hope things are going well.

Any more news Tummum?

Who'll be next? So exciting!

We've had a lovely day. George is still very sleepy from the jaundice but has been feeding well. We had a lovely hour or so cuddled up in bed feeding and sleeping. However, we were woken up by the sound of my father's voice downstairs. He had driven 150 miles with my stepmother to see the baby, have a cup of tea and then drive back! It was a lovely surprise, but also because some of you may remember me saying that they were separating. It looks like all is well and they are staying together, so I am very pleased.

MatthewAndBumpsMummy don't worry about being down... we are all still having ups and downs. Even those of us with their scrummy new arrivals. It was only yesterday i was sobbing about getting our new shelving layout in the store room wrong! Plenty of us will no doubt be going over our due dates too i expect (much to our frustration). Please don't disappear just because you're worried about posting non happy stuff.

ooopmh... off to get into my pjs... I'm in need of mega loose trousers as just can't get comfy. Think I have a v bad case of trapped wind

Blottedcopybook · 02/05/2009 20:59

MabM - LISTEN, LADY! All I do on these threads is moan, but sometimes you just need to vent to other folk who understand. Don't back off just because you're not having a great time of it - let us support you!

Llare Awwww that's really lovely! I hope they're managing to work through things.

Dandy Me too!

dandy thanks for the list trim... a job that i'm too scared to tamper with! The wks/days aren't that out of date anyway & the next time we have another arrival we can always update the wks then .

Blottedcopybook · 02/05/2009 21:42

I've just stuck a thread up in the product forum, but have any of you looked at/considered the Britax baby safe sleeper carseat? I was just having a look on kiddicare there and it's caught my eye.

ReeBee · 02/05/2009 21:47

Hi everyone

Firstly, congrats on all the new arrivals over the last few days: because of the complete dump I live in house renovations and furniture being delivered I haven't been on for a few days - and what fab news to come back to!

Especially of Momino - great birth story; well done hon! Were you in YDH? I'm planning to go there and am desperate to be let out early so your experience has really given me hope.

Congrats to chocbunnies as well - sounds like your wedding was fantastic, just as it should be.

No news here except wishful thinking with sporadic period pain and BH, sigh. Nursery nearly decorated though, hurrah. Bag kind of packed. Denial about the whole birth thing still intact but dented.

Had a lovely day today in the sunny garden with our best friends and their baby boy (6 months) - he's an absolute gem and it made me even more excited about meeting our baby (although had to block ears again re horrendous birth story).

Now, Dandy, I'm getting a complex - I only haven't posted since Tuesday and you've taken me off the list! Not sure what the rules were but ouch. Not interested, as if! DH complains that the first thing I do with any spare time is try to catch up on this thread (I assume his underlying message is that I should be ministering to his every need instead!).

I'll add myself back on in a mo.

xx

FiKelly · 02/05/2009 21:48

blotted sorry I've not looked at car seats since ds.. and the maxi cosy one we got we're re-using as it goes on our bugaboo. which reminds me I should give the car seat a clean and check..

HtheH · 02/05/2009 21:51

llare that is so lovely of your dad and step mum, so nice having family that seem to understand that over staying their welcome in the early days is not an option!
Hope everyone with their new little ones are managing to rest and enjoy it.
I am becoming increasingly unpleasant to be around, am impatient at the best of times and finding these last couple of weeks especially trying. I am also anxious that every day that goes by my LO is becoming an even bigger one and going to be increasingly difficult to give birth to. Also having suffered miscarriages etc over the last couple of years I worked out today that this time last year I was pregnant as well as this time 2 years ago, so it does kind of feel like a 2 year pregnancy!!! I so can't wait to meet our gorgeous son, I suppose I just have to learn to be patient.
Just tucked into waffles and ice cream - Green and Blacks white choc and raspberry - delicious!

bekkaboo · 02/05/2009 21:53

Reebee when you add yourself on can you put me on coming soon.. 8th May! Save making the thread both of posting? Thanks x

I am definitely considering the Britax safe sleepy thing for the car. We have bought the Britax Vigour 4 pram system with a normal Britax car seat, but for long journeys - trips from London to Scotland etc. the safe sleeper looks perfect, just a matter of finances as DH still hasn't managed to find a new job, we have both been redundant since just before Christmas, so money beginning to become a bit stretched. I love the Britax Vigour, it is so light and easy to use and no adaptors etc, everything just slots on and off really easily, great for a simple brain like mine!

Congratulations all you new mums! i cant believe how busy it has been over the last day or two! Feeling too i must admit.

I am now officially on ML! wheyhey! Spent a good day visiting MIL and taking DS to a great play park next to the beach in Broughty Ferry, Dundee. The hall adjacent happened to be having a Real Nappy thing going on so bought some newborn size real nappies to use and only spent £20 so pretty chuffed.

Emmab I am with you on this worrying thing - only today I was saying to DH - what are we doing? everything is good at the mo - and DS is a joy to be around - why are we making life more complicated for ourselves and throwing a big unknown and upheaval in our lives again? But I also think it will be great at other times, and I think our worries will lift when we meet the baby - I hope anyway. Oh now that I am on ML I would be happy to meet up if you wanted / are up to it? Otherwise we should meet after the LO are born.

ReeBee · 02/05/2009 21:58

sorry bekkaboo, cross-posted.

ReeBee · 02/05/2009 22:01

Dandy, no problem - as I've not added bekkaboo is there any way you would be so kind???

I can't believe that only 3 of us posting in April haven't already posted in May - shows how active this thread is!
