another tummy popping over here! i thought it was just me, so this is reassuring.

i think i might try joining the pregnant runners thread too as i do try and run once or twice a week (ok, haven't actually been for a week or two, in all honesty but still..)

had some cramping this morning. Bit worried as it went on for half an hour or so and felt just like implantation pain (which of course i've already had). Seems to have eased off now, though. Suppose that's a good sign

veryscaredleonifay · 15/05/2009 11:13

hi all, just got back from france late last night, still bleading slightly, i've been booked in with the EPU on monday for a scan to see whats happaning, they cant fit me in any earlier, but i may go to a+e later to see if they will give me a scan earlier.

i havent had a chance to catch up with the thread, but congratulations to everyone who has joined. i'm now going to catch up properly.

alibobins · 15/05/2009 11:19

Fingers crossed for you x x

kittykat765 · 15/05/2009 11:25

Congrats totalmisfit .

I'm another one who's stomach muscles have gone awol. In fact I think I may be able to claim to be the first to have had the "are you sure you are only X weeks?" comment. Had it yesterday although admittedly I was a bit lax in losing the weight from ds.

Am a bit peed off at work, my manager is telling me that my breaks are too high. Not too sure how he expects them to be otherwise in first trimester of pregnancy.

Think we may have a few more joiners soon. There has been at least one BFP on another thread I am watching.

Sersi · 15/05/2009 16:16

zen1980 hope your scan was OK this morning.

leonifay am keeping everything crossed for you, can understand why you don't want to wait 'til Monday.

hope everyone else is getting on OK. I've been trying to call my doctor for 3 days now and he keeps cancelling the phone appointment. phoned again at arranged time this afternoon and the receptionist told me they didn't know where he was - he hadn't returned from lunch as expected . would have thought they might at least make something up on his behalf - although she did sound a bit miffed.

ampster · 15/05/2009 16:31

Hello, can I join? Sorry, not had time to read all of the thread yet...

Age 37, due date 16th Jan, one DS of 11 months.

Very ambivalent feelings towards this pregnancy from both me and DP. It's far too soon and our situation is precarious - he's looking for work and I was made redundant (I'm a copywriter) while on maternity leave. So now I'm meant to job-hunt while pregnant? Who will employ me?

Have had two previous miscarriages so not whooping with joy yet either in case I jinx things (I do want to have the baby really, it's just such a bad time). Am nearly 38 so feel like this may be the last chance. DP wants me to get rid of it but can be talked round I think.

V. selfish post, sorry! Will go finish the thread now so I can be a bit more interactive next time. Just wanted to say hi.

veryscaredleonifay · 15/05/2009 17:14

just got back form a + e where they said they thought i might be having a mc, but cant dont want to do a scan till monday as they cant 'fit me in'

i'm so fed up of waiting for the NHS to get their act together. i was told to wait and see if it got any worse then i could have a scan, then when it did was told wait till it had been happening for a week then they would do a scan, now i've been told to wait to see what happands on monday and if i'm still bleading then i can have a scan. my emotions have been up and down like a yo yo, being hormonal anyway really doesnt help. i just cant stop crying!
and to top it all off, the hospital have cancelled my appointment on monday because they had a 'more urgent case that needs attention' i'mn so angry i want to scream (i did scream at them when i found out.

so...
now i'm looking for any recommendations of any privavte companys who will do a scan on a weekend in the birmingham/west midlands area. anyone know of anywhere?

veryscaredleonifay · 15/05/2009 17:16

sorry for the ranty post, i just needed to get it all out there. and at all the spelling mistakes, english has never been my strong point.

skidoodle · 15/05/2009 17:23

Jesus leonifay, that is absolutely awful. I can't believe you're being treated so badly.

To tell you they think you're miscarrying but expect you to wait all weekend before you get confirmation?! That is monstrous.

And they have cancelled your Monday appointment anyway?

I'm sorry, I'm not an NHS expert by any means as I grew up in a different country and have only been using it for about 3 years.

It might be worth posting this in the general pregnancy section and see if anyone can give you some advice of where you can get a scan tonight or tomorrow.

I'm so, sorry you're having to go through this. It's really shit

Feel free to rant away. You've every reason.

Sersi · 15/05/2009 17:38

my God leonifay - I'm gobsmacked. you must be distraught - you are being treated appallingly. skidoodle is right - rant away, can't imagine how frustrated / angry / distressed you must be.

can't help you with the information you need but someone here on mumsnet will hopefully be able to.

marmitemonster please don't censor your posts

The way you write about your daughter and her loss is beautiful, even if it is incredibly sad.

leonifay how are you doing? you still there?

I think the suggestion of going to the nearest big teaching hospital sounds an excellent one.

This is such a different ante-natal thread from my first one. That time around we were mostly first timers and it was all so new to us. This time we've relatively few newbies and a lot of experience. I hope it stands us in good stead.

i hadnt thought of going to a teaching hospital, that sounds like a good idea, i may try it.

marmitemonster i just finished catching up on the thread, i'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. dont censor your posts, thats what mn is for.

sockmonster · 15/05/2009 19:13

Thanks leonifay. I'm feeling a bit weird about this pregnancy, I'm a little concerned about the baby not being the same as dd, if that makes sense. I think I'm just irrationally hoping it will be identical to her in every single way.. in fact that it will be her.. but hey I've got a few months yet to deal with that (know a good therapist anyone!? )

Otherwise yeah I'm fine! I really would advise you to go to a teaching hospital and say you are very concerned and if necessary amplify your symptoms. It is totally negligent to send you away without a proper investigation or scan to a. check the baby and b. check that something very serious isn't going to threaten your own health. Keep us updated and good luck I'm keeping fingers toes etc crossed.

marmitemonster that actually does make a lot of sense.

Obviously the circumstances are different, but I feel a bit like that myself. Earlier I was talking to my Mum about the new baby and I actually referred to it as "her" and nodded at my DD, as though I was going to be giving birth to her all over again.

When you've only had one baby I think it's hard to imagine having a different baby. Or maybe I just have a crap imagination

It must be a lot more intense for you as you miss your DD so much.

leonifay I too have my fingers and toes crossed for you. I really hope you get the care you need as soon as possible.

hi Leonifay,

I'm also horrified to read your message.
What about going to your doctor on Monday and see if he/she can pushes for appointment? that is how I got mine for Monday, as they did not want to see me at 6 weeks.
Anyway, don't panic too much, I was told that as long as you still have symptoms it is ok.... I'm crossing fingers for you!!

alibobins · 15/05/2009 20:54

Leonifay- can't believe how you have been treated hope you get some answers soon.

Sazlocks fingers and toes crossed for you

Well I've had enough Ds is absolutely covered in chicken pox and so poorly (hence my thread in children's health) all he wants is me he won't let dh near him
Going to put him in bed with me tonight hopefully he will settle.

Dizzyclarebear · 15/05/2009 21:19

hi can I join you? Just found out our 1st is due 7th Jan. V terrified - don't feel grown up enough to be doing this (even though 30).

Feeling a bit out of deepth and not a clue what to do/expect, as hadn't been planning this seriously yet...

That all said, very excited, can't stop smiling and not sure how I'm going to keep this secret!

skidoodle · 15/05/2009 21:46

Many congratulations Dizzyclarebear

We need some first timers on this thread to keep the excitement quotient up

How are you feeling? Ill? tired?

Have you been to your GP yet to have test confirmed/be referred to a hospital/birthing unit?

slightlybonkers · 15/05/2009 22:44
