londonlottie congratulations, must be a shock though. Am sure it won't take you long to get used to the idea!

timmette · 31/05/2009 08:06

Congrats Londonlottie fab news .
Ampster that sounds like such a worthwhile and rewarding thing to do.
I also have not told my best friend as he has been ttc for almost a year and in less time I have been pregnant twice sadly lost the first but hopefully all is good for this one - but not sure how to mention it to her and feeling guilty for not telling her.

beanieb · 31/05/2009 08:45

Is anyone NOT getting ravenous hunger or extreme tiredness? I am 7 weeks now and not had that at all, nor any morning sickness.

Beanieb - I have had random sickness particularly in the evening - do have sore boobs but really only if prodded and have prodded them now and then to check . I am eating every 2 hours on advice of gynae - so not really getting a chance to feel ravenous - although have gone off chocolate and am rather enjoying plain boiled potatoes - which I normally would not eat - but then again they are quite inoffenive to throw up.

sazlocks · 31/05/2009 11:25

beanieb - I am a little tired but its not extreme. Last time that didn't kick in til I was around 8 weeks and I really knew about it when it started !
My boobs are a little sore but mainly I feel sickly around certain smells ( clean washing is the main one !) and I have the most terrible bad temper. Its like PMT but tenfold. Which is nice for everyone around me

ILoveDolly · 31/05/2009 14:15

WoW Twins LondonLottie - blow some of your magic twinny dust my way, won't you?

VivClicquot · 31/05/2009 18:25

beanieb - I'm getting really concerned as I think I'm around 7 weeks but have no symptoms whatsoever. No tiredness, no nausea, no frequent trips to the loo, no moodswings... this time last week, my boobs were killing me, but even that's stopped. Does this sound normal to you guys? This is my first pg, so am terrified something is wrong...

timmette: potatoes are great aren't they? I went through a home made potato salad phase a couple of weeks ago.

Crisps are very good too.

singalongamumum · 31/05/2009 19:35

Don't panic VC that fact that some women don't realise they're pregnant til 3 months tells you that some women don't have any symptoms at all.

Good luck at work marmite- am I right in thinking you start tomorrow?

Hope everyone's been enjoying the sunshine- I have loved the days, but spent one night on my DSs floor as he is teething and wouldn't be alone. Ah bless him .

dal21 · 31/05/2009 19:46

Hi All! What a lovely day. Was a tad too hot for me late afternoon though, so stayed indoors. Managed to get some gardening done early evening though so not a total write off...

Beanieb & Vivcliquot- everyone is different. Unfortunately I am feeling exhausted and ravenous, although the nausea has eased a little in the past few days. Sipping ice cold water constantly seems to be a real help for me. But I really wouldnt worry - I have quite a few friends who had no symptoms whatsoever. One of them ended up going to the docs as a result of sharp shooting pains - she was sent for a scan (as has history of PCOS) and was 12 weeks pregnant! And it was her second and she had had no inkling whatsoever. Zero symptoms. (Aside from having gained some weight). She went onto have a very healthy boy.

I know it is hard not to worry, I have my scan tomorrow morning and i just want to be able to see the heartbeat the same way we did with DS. This pregnancy is already so different to my first, so am trying not to worry about not having remotely sore boobs!

Hope everyone else had lovely weekends.

misschatterbox · 31/05/2009 20:01

Hi all
My baby is due at the end of January. My dh and I planned it, but now thinking not such a brilliant idea as our 2nd dd's birthday is on the 7/02, she too was due at the end of Jan. Oh, well. We'll have a great party life at the beginning of each year. Sickness kicked in this week, mainly in the evenings. Hope everyone else's pregnancy is going well

Blocka · 31/05/2009 20:01

Hello Beanieb and Vivcliquot - have no symptoms either - my boobs were sore but they aren't anymore. No tiredness, no nausea. Nothing. Am 6+1 today.

I was panicking but feel a bit better when I think back that my best friend didn't have a clue she was pregnant til she was 3 months and she went for a scan for fibroids - and there was a baby!!!

At the end of the day, there is nothing we can do in any event, and the best thing for our little beans is t be as chilled as possible. Which is what I a going to try and do this evening! You try to do the same too xx

beanieb · 31/05/2009 20:06

VivClicquot try not to worry, apparently some people just don't get many symptoms. I have none apart from the bits around my nipples looking quite swollen.

beanieb · 31/05/2009 20:07

ps londonlottie just took a look at your profile picture, fab scan piccie

laurawantsababy · 31/05/2009 20:14

londonlottie Brilliant photo. I cant wait to have my first scan, not sure I can wait for 12 weeks as with dd we had one at 7.

Im not feeling pregnant at the mo except I feel sick if I need to eat and have a constant headache. Other then that Im not too bad. Only 5 weeks today though so theres plenty of time!

Good luck tomorrow Marmite.

nervoussara · 31/05/2009 20:25

Hi, I'm just over 5 weeks pregnant, due date is Jan 30th!
This is kind of my first. Was pregnant 6 years ago and had to lose my baby at 19 weeks to a severe NT defect that would have been fatal. Wasn't detected at scans.
Anyway I'm really looking for support. I suffer from depression and anxiety and even though I wanted to be pregnant and am very pleased, I think this is also going to be a very difficult time. Very up and down already. Not how I imagined I would feel.
Have no symptoms as yet, not very good at being sick, like most of us.
Congratulations to the rest of you.
xx

Blocka · 31/05/2009 21:44

Hell nervoussara - s sorry to hear about your previous pregnancy. That must of been incredibly tough. How did they end up detecting it (what does NT stand for?).

You are in the right place for some support - the girls here are wonderful and will give you a shoulder to lean on every step of the way. Some women have been through some tragic events like you - so will be able to share experiences etc.

As for me - I can lend an ear when you are on a down and try to make you laugh to bring you back up!!

Welcome aboard!!

ILoveDolly · 31/05/2009 21:50

Don't forget me -

due on 16/01/10 (dd 3y4m)

  • Shall I add myself or does the OP do the honours - how do these lists work?
skidoodle · 31/05/2009 22:06

Hi nervoussara sorry to hear about your last pregnancy I hope this time around will be as enjoyable as possible

ampster I stop tomorrow! I gave DD her last feed this morning. I'm so tired at the moment and I'm hoping giving up will help.

londonlottie congratulations on your twins

What great news. I'm sure once you get your head around it you'll be over the moon.

I guess we're not EDD buddies anymore

My Mum did what your did re telling all the family due to excitement first time around. It was hard to be too furious because I know that in a way it was her news too, but I wasn't best pleased.

marmitemonster best of luck tomorrow The thinking about it is bound to be worse than the reality. However it goes you have your own reason to be excited for the future. Don't let the bastards get you down etc.

Hi everyone else,

We moved house on Friday. The new house is great, so much better for DD than where we were, and in a really nice little town.

ILoveDolly · 31/05/2009 22:20

skidoodle good luck in your new home

nervoussara · 31/05/2009 22:35

Hi Blocka, NT is neural tube defect. Baby had anacaphaly.
Thanks Skidoodle I'm hoping so too. Good luck with the new house.
Calling midfives tomorow to start the ball rolling.

Anyway, its good to be on here.
One thing that I'm lost with though is all the abreviatitons for stuff. Can you guys just run me though what they mean.

By the way anyone had any experience of or know anything about doulas?
