ILoveDolly hello

I think it's fine for you to add yourself onto the list, just re-post it with your name on.

dal21 · 01/06/2009 07:10

Morning all! Quick post - best of luck marmite today!

Catch up properly with the other posts later

Blocka · 01/06/2009 08:05

Right - its official. Have an important meeting all day today, went to put on my best suit. Uh Uh. I cannot get the trousers fastened!!!!
Have had to resort to the old hair booble trick and wear a loosefitting top. People are going to notice today, I am sure!!!

Have a wonderful, sunny day everyone!!!

hi nervoussara and misschatterbox and congrats!

nervoussara the acronyms i have picked up are BFP (big fat positive, a positive pregnancy test) and - hang, don't mumsnet do a list? ah yes, here: www.mumsnet.com/info/acronyms. that should see you right...

good luck at your scan dal21.

londonlottie, is your stomach extra big already because it's twins? mine is so massive it can only be quadruplets. either that or i have no stomach muscles any more. sadly i think the latter.

hi ilovedolly - we are due date buddies, i'm due on the 16th too.

skidoodle good luck giving up bf! hope your little one takes it ok, how old is she now?

good luck at work marmitemonster. your job sounds very scary and hardcore and non-female-friendly. but presumably very high-flying?

timette yeah i think being a labour support worker will be a great thing to do. at least it will give me some experience - having DS has made me think that i no longer want to be a web editor and copywriter and would love to be a midwife, up to my elbows in new life and gore! so this is a good way to test out a possible career change.

phew! right, off to ikea today. need curtains and windowboxes. our flat is an awful state but slowly we are renovating it. don't want the little one to pop out and take one look at his/her surroundings and crawl back in!

sazlocks · 01/06/2009 08:29

morning all - just a quick check in
vivcliquot - try not to worry too much re symptoms - I had very few with my first pregnancy and he was a very healthy DS

Welcome to new BFPS
I am feeling wrecked this morning as DS was up 3 times in the night zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

sazlocks · 01/06/2009 08:31

is it - are they your first, londonlottie? i guess your stomach muscles are probably in good enough nick to keep the massiveness at bay for a few weeks more if so. bummer to lose our first set of twins to the december thread though - think you'll decamp?

blocka i hear you on the clothes front. i didn't want to buy any maternity wear before 12 weeks because i didn't want to tempt fate but my stomach has other ideas!

ampster · 01/06/2009 10:32

finally caved and bought a long-lusted-after maternity item, this coat: is.gd/LlpA. managed to justify it by saying that i would wear it even if not pregnant and need a new coat for this autumn and it is 50% off. i really hope this isn't jinxing things! crossing fingers emoticon

bluespix77 · 01/06/2009 11:25

Oh thats a lovely coat, good choice!

timmette · 01/06/2009 12:58

Hi Londonlottie I will also deliver in December but am staying put everyone is very nice on here and officially due date is Jan.
Ampster fab coat .
Blocka We are half way through renovating and are suffering from apathy my kitchen was last renovated in the 1950's I kid you not.
Hi Blocka that happened to me too I put a skirt on that was previously quite baggy around the waist and couldn't get it fastened on Sat .

Dizzyclarebear · 01/06/2009 13:32

Bit shaken today - went for blood tests this morning, and managed to pass out on the nurse. DH was there too (sweetly offered to give me a lift then wait with me) and said it looked like I fitted & shock slightly too.

I've always been a total wuss about needles and have a history of fainting at jabs so hoping it's just that...

Now still trying to be cheery at work as noone knows but terrified this is a 'very bad sign'....

Although Ampster - love the coat

Dizzyclarebear sorry to hear about your experience. Have you always been ok with having blood taken before and have you had any fits before?

I am sure if it was a bad sign then the nurse would have said something so try not to worry.

timmette · 01/06/2009 15:39

Dizzyclarebear not a bad thing - I also fainted when they recently took blood - but that was the bloody trainy nurse . You are not alone - lol

laurawantsababy · 01/06/2009 15:45

Hi all, I have just got home from work and noticed a lot of people looking at my tummy! Im 5+1 today so it must just be flab - Right?!

dizzyclarebear I always lie down for blood tests because I faint sometimes! Dont worry, a lot of people are the same. You could be a bit amnemic at the moment which may have caused it.

beanieb · 01/06/2009 15:57

I thik I am constipated. I have a pain basically, like something is trapped. Am eating loads of fibre and drinking loads of water

Hi,
Another one to join the club. First time for me and apparently due 24/1 by internet calculation. Am still in denial - helped by not really feeling any different and a GP that doesn't even do your first appointment until at least 10 weeks.
All a bit of a shock as we weren't really trying - just not trying not to. Not telling anyone until 12 weeks/post scan though just in case.
Am getting more indigestion than before, and sometimes feel a little queasy if I get too hungry, but other than that all OK at the moment - really keen to see increase in boobs as I'm otherwise pancake-like!
Have done all sorts of 'shouldn't have' things so far - including climbing a mountain in 35 degree heat and using DEET insect stuff on holiday(didn't know that was a no-no) plus having a few drinks on a weekend away - all before I had any idea I was up the duff. However, nothing I can do about it now, so hope all OK!

Hope not to be too regular a poster as need to keep job.
Good luck to everyone else too...

dal21 · 01/06/2009 16:48

Hi All!!

Jumping on quickly again! We got our heartbeat loud and clear on the scan! Yay!! . Am v. v. v relieved. I know I still have to get to 12 weeks but this morning helped heaps! And bizarrely enough, my symptoms have lessened today. Not so ravenous or nauseous.

Will catch up with everyone later properly - off to get DS from nursery.

beanieb · 01/06/2009 17:10

welcome FlightofFancy

Am sure everything will be fine but I love the idea of you climbing mountains

dal21 yay for the heartbeat!

FlightofFancy · 01/06/2009 17:20

Thanks beanieb - I did think it was quite hard going at the time and that I was suffering the climb a bit more than I was expecting. Was just so delighted that AF was a bit late so wasn't having to faff about with tampax behind a rock... doh!
At least have got photos so can show to sprog some year in the future if all goes well!

Welcome flightoffancy - please dont worry too much. One of my friends (without knowing she was preggers) did heaps of drinking, ate all the foods you should avoid - seafood, peanut butter etc and her DS is just fine.

Marmite - pushing the best of luck to weds! Am really hoping the first day back is heaps better than you are expecting it to be! And as much as I would not like to call my Little bean a blob, I am afraid to say that is all it is at the moment - a blob, but one with a heartbeat! LOL at the stuck baby!

Beanieb - thanks for the yay! Re. the constipation...have you tried prunes to get things moving?

Nervoussara - welcome! and think the abbrev link that has been posted will answer most your questions. But please post away on here for support!

Misschatterbox - welcome also!

Blocka I am already out of my lovely tightfitting suits and dresses, so too can sympathise. Fortunately I held onto a few essentials from 6 or so years ago (when the trend wasnt to be quite such a skinny minny) and those are the clothes I am now in! I call em my inbetweens, did me last time until 16 weeks.

Ampster hope the trip to Ikea was a success! Love the coat btw! Lush!

Sazlocks - Hope you got some much needed zzzz's

Londonlottie - you are not to leave us!! Noooo! Feel as though am only just getting to know everyone!

Hello to everyone else . Bath and bedtime for DS. Anyone else wish 21 month old toddlers could put themselves to bed.
