marmite your little girl is beautiful, so sad to read about your experience.

lilacpink good to hear your scan went well

Blocka - I wonder if you could ask to change your midwife, seems awful that you have to have the same miserable old cow

skidoodle Quads! no thanks I am hoping that when they told me they could only see one folicle after I took the clomid, that they were right! My OH says my belly looks pregnant so am kind of worried

Hi there mamamoscow and helenabeth and welcome

Im going to the docs next week so it will be interesting to see what EDD they come up with! If I go by my conception date there is a weeks difference. Does that matter?

rainbowdays · 29/05/2009 12:35

wow you lot are a chatty bunch!!!!
I am sitting doing nothing today. Same as yesterday. I had very bad cramps and backache yesterday, not helped with paracetomol or hot water bottle, But rest seemed to do the trick. Cramps decreased overnight but started again this morning when I started moving around. Although I know it is a case of "what will be, will be" I have decided that if moving around too much causes pain, then probrably the best excuse ever to sit down and mn or sleep.

I am incredibly tired at the moment, last night having done nothing all day I couldnot keep my eyes open after 8.30pm!!! If I could I would be going to sleep right now, but need to look after the other kiddies.

Lauraw- the docs will go with your LMP date unless the scan shows a weeks difference in dating, only then will they change the EDD. They will not take any notice of any conception date you give them!

vivclicquot- echo what Marmite says about those attractive long flight socks, you will need them.

mamamoscow - yep I am in maternity trousers already. I think once you have had babies before your stomach just gives up all pretence of holding anything in and blob, out is all falls with wonderful bloating.

Hello everyone

Quick question, I'm 7 weeks today and feel terrible! Walking down the stairs makes me sweaty and feel ot of breath, I feel sick constantly although havent been sick, and I'm soooo tired.

I don't remember feeling this bad with dd. Am I being wussy or is this normal?

Just not sure how I'm going to continue working and looking after DD if this doesn't get better soon!

beanieb · 29/05/2009 13:15

another question,

My OH says I look pregnant yet I haven't put any weight on. Is this more likely to be

a. wind?
b. the slackening of my stomach muscles in preparation for the growing of a baby (I can't actually suck it in anymore)?

I saw 5 sets of twins in the park last weekend and wondered if it was a sign!

I'm flying to US in Sept when will be 19 weeks. 6 hr flight then a 3 hour drive. I'll definately need those flight socks, and hope I'll be alright...

I'm feeling really energized, exact opposite of last time when was knackered early on.

Not sure about hair dye Lottie.

beanieb · 29/05/2009 14:33

" Does anyone know if it's true you can't get your hair coloured in the first 12 weeks?"

not sure about this either, though I read it was ok. Am sure there's a thread on here somewhere about it will have a look

timmette · 29/05/2009 15:14

Hi Maygirl have fun on your trip but do make sure you have very good insurance and that it covers you when pregnant etc - I guess you know what medical bills in the US are like - sorry if you know all this already.
BeabieB I have gained 1 kg and my jeans don't fasten - so I have expanded already rather than gain weght - because I have weighed more and fitted these jeans so I guess the bump is growing.

dal21 · 29/05/2009 15:45

Hi All

Lilacpink - great news on the scan

Blocka - Poor you having a miserable MW. But if she is the on with your GP, are you stuck with her??

LondonLottie - is your scan tomorrow? Sorry to hear that you mum has told your family. No idea on th hair dye front am afraid.

Skidoodle - quads! Wowser! One manages to run rings round me.

Welcome to mamamoscow and helena beth. Congrats!

Vivcliquot - you'll be fine to fly. Spain is such a short flight too!

Rainbowdays - fell better!

Worriedunfortunately - I feel the exact same as you. The lack of energy is a nightmare! I only work 3 days a week, but am struggling by 5pm on the days I work. On the days I am home, I am going down for a nap when DS does. We both got a full 2 hours today . You're not being wussy. The first time round you were able to lie in and relax. Not run round after a toddler when you are home. Advice to all the first timers - relax and rest all you want. Bliss!

Maygirl - lucky you feeling energised! 19 weeks is a nice time to go away. I love the US. Where are you heading?

Beanieb - I have gained weight and got a bigger stomach, but have hollow legs again early on. If I dont eat, then I just feel terrible. Thats my excuse.

Hello to everyone else! I am determined to try and post and reply to everyone at some point.

Am also glad I am not the only one craving junk. The other day I could have nailed a maccy d's. I havent had one for years - I didnt cave then, but am sure it is only a matter of time.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine...it is gorgeous here!

Anniemac - if by premenstrual, you mean grumpy/ hormonal - I have felt like that on and off for days. My nephew is staying with us for a few days over H/T and he has certainly noticed that I am a tad "stricter" than normal.

Can you rest up a bit? I know it must be hard with DC's - but that may also be why you feel the way you do. Are you rushing about too much?

Dizzyclarebear · 29/05/2009 16:28

hi all, wow - I leave this for a couple of days and there's sooo many posts! welcome to all the BFPs!

Londonlottie, I'd heard that modern hair die is ok, this isn't a problem anymore, but that might be wishful thinking as my grey is showing through and as I'm feeling like a bit bloater at the moment, I can't be doing with bad hair too...

Anniemac - me too on the crampy feeling - am slightly worried.

BTW - have I become a complete wuss or does waxing hurt more when pg? Bit scared of this, if I can't cope with a wax without wanting to cry how I'm going to deal with childbirth?!?!?

coffeeicecream · 29/05/2009 16:55

I had my lgs waxed yesterday and found it v painful had my ds on my tummy who thought it was v interesting and hilarious. Agree re childbirth aaaaaaaaaaaa

kittykat765 · 29/05/2009 16:57

Hi everyone, hope you are all well (erm at least as well as we can be in the circumstances).

marmitemonster, as per my previous posts, your daughter is absolutely gorgeous.

beanieb, just saw your comment on another thread. Isn't there a facebook status update you should be writing? Or have you done it already?

Congrats to all new BFP's. Just a little warning for all of us pg ladies headed for sun, my SIL is 31 weeks pg and has caught the sun really easily after (relatively) little exposure. According to the midwife, the hormones in pregnancy make us burn more easily.

laurawantsababy · 29/05/2009 19:51

Hi everyone,

I have been having stomach cramps and backache today but remember having it with dd and thinking it was PMT.

Dp now knows and is more excited then me - Phew

Thanks for the warning kittykat - I hadnt thought about that.

beanieb · 29/05/2009 19:58

at kittykat765

we've decided to wait until 12 weeks before making any facebook announcement but I can't wait!

laurawantsababy · 29/05/2009 19:59

I so nearly told my mum today! Im only 4+5 though - Did anyone else tell family that early?

lilacpink · 29/05/2009 22:10

Hi All

laurawants I told my Dh, sister and parents within three days. Told 1 person I work with last week too as I'm having strong symptoms (first preg was near Hypermerisis Gravidas) and need to explain that I'm not actually being rude when I can't concentrate and run out the room!

I have periods where I feel normal, and periods where I'm hot/cold/dizzy/nauseous/have dry retching. At those times temperature, smells, change in light, even certain words make me feel worse, but I'm happy at the sametime that this follows preg 1.

Talking of sunburn, the other prob is 'pregnancy mask' I had this by end of preg 1, although I don't sunbathe, but didn't always use suncream when outside. Basically the pigment (melanin) in skin can be triggered by hormones and leaves patches on the face (I had at sides of my face). Mine faded by 1 year (and I wear foundation most days anyhow so wasn't too bad). But is another reason I'm being really careful with suncream on my face this time!

Morning all!! Looks as though it is going to be another cracking day!
Laura - I told my mum straightaway - was 3+6 when I got my BFP. No one else in RL knows. I would tell my mum asam too close not too - plus she wouldnt tell a soul until the 12 week mark. We have a family wedding at 14 weeks and I am very glad it is no sooner.
Heading out for a morning of shopping before my mum heads back home - shopping minus a toddler. Bliss!

Have fab days all!
