Hi everyone!

Marmite - the photos of your DD are gorgeous! I am so sorry that she is no longer with you. You must miss her very much.
I also have to say that your symptoms are identical to mine! With DS sore and mahoosive boobs and tiredness were my only symptoms. Now I just generally feel icky all day! I only work three days a week so am hoping the tiredness doesnt get too bad. The days I am home with DS, i plan to nap when he does at lunchtime and recharge the batteries. From recollection, it was around week 14 that the tiredness lifted and had heaps of energy.

Londonlottie - so many GP's are different. When I lived in NW London, my GP said the same. Now where I am in Surrey, my GP was lovely - took blood pressure, asked some general questions about pregnancy/ birth with DS. Btw - Seraphine is not only reasonably priced, but the clothes also wear so well. I got virtually all my old maternity wardrobe from there and it was so smart. Dug it out a few days ago and the clothes still look brand new!

VivCliquot - Great news that you are going ahead with the wedding, I bet it will be fantastic. And I definitely think that getting away before the LO is born is a great idea! Holidays once they are here are never quite the same. Fun. But never as relaxing.

Welcome also to Irrational mother.

Hope that everyone is feeling ok. Oh and P.S. the preggie pop sweets actually do help with the whole feeling nauseous. So can recommend them.

susiey · 28/05/2009 19:39

Still feeling really sicky but managing to eat now so that good. I'm nine weeks tomorrow so feeling a bit happier 12 weeks still seems a long way off.

Can't believe all the BFP'S congratulations.

dal21 · 28/05/2009 19:57

Welcome Susiey

Yay Zen! Well done bean! You must be very happy.

lilacpink · 28/05/2009 20:44

Wow, it's really busy here! Congrats to all newbees - Jan is a popular month (or is April the month to TTC )

I had my scan Tue and it isn't another Molar preg! I have one baby and it measured 6.5 weeks and saw a heart beat. TBH I couldn't take it in. I was petrified going in and having it (had an internal like last time). Thankfully they said really quickly that all was ok. Before I went in the Midwife said my EDD, I didn't hear her properly and said that I'd worked it out as 10th Jan and she said well you were only out by a few days then (I was thinking v. negatively at this point that I was about to hear bad news, so I didn't check date). I was 2 weeks late with DD and have v. long cycles - sometimes 40 days! So I think I'll be nearer mid-end Jan. I'll have a scan at 12 weeks (they'll re-date then), which was a nice surprise to hear.

Marmitemonster I craved KFC first preg too, and BurgerKing Whoppers...I'm not a vegetarian so couldn't stop myself!

Blocka · 28/05/2009 22:16

Hello everyone! My MV 'allowed' me to have an appointment with her and I nearly fell off my chair as last time she made me wait til I was 9 weeks. I am only 5+5 now. Turns out it was a 'meet and greet, where she said 'hello' and made a booking appointment for when I am 9 weeks!!! What a bloody wase of time!

She is the same madwife midwife I had last time, a bit of a miserable old cow. She could probably tell by my face I was gutted - I kept saying that I had expected her to have left my GPs by now! I tried to pretend that I didn't know when my last AF was so she would send me for an early scan - but shes too miserable for that. So then i changed tact and said I was so worried about my recent m/c that i thought the stress was going to make me m/c again - so if I coud only see the heartbeat everthing would be okay....she didn't buy that either.

Feeling a bit low as I don't seem to have any symptoms anymore. Even my boobs feel deflated. Is there anyway of telling if I have m/c or do I just have to wait for a bleed and/or scan??

Blocka · 28/05/2009 22:17

Oh, and hello marmitemonster. Haven't official introduced myself to you but I have read your posts. Your dd is absolutely beautiful and I hope you find strength from your pals on MN. Good luck with your pg!!! x

marmitemonster what a beautiful little girl

Last time I had similar cravings for McDonald's fries for similar reasons. DH absolutely reviles their food but I made him cycle down there with me a few times when I really needed the nausea to stop.

londonlottie I found that some midwives didn't really understand the rh- issue and I know some women who were advised to take anti D even though their DHs were also rh-

I presume your DH is rh+? I forced mine to have the blood test before I'd submit to the Anti D and I still think it's a bit silly to give those injections prophylactically, but I was very obedient last time, and just went along with it as they carried on as though it was some massive big deal.

DD turned out to be rh- so it was all a big waste of having to get injections

zen great news on the heartbeat - it's really amazing what they can do.

Guess who I met today? A set of quads! Four 8 year old girls. Unbelievable.

You up for that many at one go beanieb (or any others wondering about multiples)?

alibobins hope you feel better soon, that sounds very unpleasant

welcome newbies

mamamoscow · 29/05/2009 06:51

Hello,
I hope you don't mind if I join in? I am due on the 15th Jan 2010. So 7 weeks now! This is my third pregnancy and all ok so far. We live in Moscow, so I have already had my scan. Little heart beat going well, so very happy. My belly has really extended already, I can't believe it! I am wearing maternity clothes as I can't fit in to my normal ones. Anyone else the same??? (My children keep kissing my tummy, its so lovely to share this with them.)

coffeeicecream · 29/05/2009 08:19

Hello all,

Marmite my heart goes out to you and all your family, your pictures are truly lovely what a beautiful girl. It must be so incredibly hard. I hope you are able to enjoy this pregnancy, and all the wonders and good times that lie ahead with your new baby.

I cant q believe how many there are of us. It is so reassuring having you all out there going through everything. I cant wait for the 12 week good news sacn.

Blocka · 29/05/2009 08:27

Thanks londonlottie , I feel a bit better that your symptoms come and go as well! I did wake up in the middle of the night because I could smell something and it was making me feel sick - maybe everything is okay after all? I think I am going to look into that early scan - thank for the link!

Hello mamamoscow !! How lucky you get an early scan - is that something you get as a matter of course in Moscow or do you have to pay for it? A suggestion for those of you (us!) whose clothes are feeling a little on the tight side - have any of you tried those privacy panels?? They are like a boob tube that you put over your waist band, so you can undo your top button and still feel comfy? My sister is pg and she swore by them!

Happy Sunny Day everyone!!

Hello again,

Gosh - this is a long list. Hello Laurawantsababy - nice to see someone else with longer to wait! I am just starting to remember how much I hated the first few weeks last time - waiting to tell people and keeping my fingers crossed.

Slowly catching up with you all!

coffeeicecream · 29/05/2009 08:40

Thanks Irationalmother for doing long list, will update you all on tues after scan. feelig v excited and worried. Try not to worry Blocka i remember worrying so much last time they do come and go a lot, mine kicked in week 8 last time. The mw sounds grim not someone you need Can you see someone different next time. I remember in antenatal classes they said that if you dont get along with yr mw ask to change v important. Good luck

helenabeth · 29/05/2009 08:53

Hi, I'm due 29 Jan. Have ds 1 (4.5) and ds2 (20mths). Excited but apprehensive. We wanted a third but this wasn't exactly planned. I know that makes us very lucky. Already beating myself up about not taking folic acid before I found out. No syptoms except dizziness at the minute.

VivClicquot · 29/05/2009 09:08

Morning all

I've booked myself in for a private early scan next Tuesday seeing as we genuinely have no idea on dates etc. My rough guess is 19th Jan (DP's birthday!) but I'll let you know more next week.

So, second travel-related question from me - all this time I've been fretting about my honyemoon in November, but I'd totally ignored the fact that we're off for a week in Spain next Saturday. I'll be okay to fly, won't I?

marmite Your little girl looks lovely, it made me cry looking at your photos of her.

Irrationalmother - I am glad you are a late January too! How Im going to keep this quiet for another 7/8 weeks I dont know!

vivclicquot You will be fine to fly so early. Just make sure you drink plenty of water and walk round a lot. You lucky thing

I have just been or a longish walk in the lush sunshine! I have eaten loads this last week and need to tone up a bit.
