Here it is ladies. Shall we start with a roll call like the efficient ladies over on April 2005?

Fisil, thinking of you ... is it for tonight(sorry this morning), or are you still holding out for the 05/05

Having one of those nights again just cant seem to get comfortable ... thinking I should ask reflexologist to hurry things along ... if that stuff actually works

claudi2 · 02/05/2005 03:56

Logic, looks like you will get there before me ... even though we have the same due date

fisil · 02/05/2005 08:02

OMG how exciting, logic! I reckon you're going to overtake me!

No signs at all. Just wondering, is it possible to take GCSEs in the womb? Go to university? Will someone have a quiet word with this child, please!

18mumtobe,
I'm so sorry I forgot to comment on the migraines. I get them too. I get them all the time (soetimes weekly) but they are quite mild as far as migraines go. There is a fantastic drug actually a family of drugs called triptans which you can take after pregnancy. So I'm afraod the only light I get shed on this is the fact that pregnancy will soon be over.

If you don't know what the triptans are (Sumatriptan, Naratriptan, etc.) CAT be and I'll tell you more about them. They are very expensive but also available on the NHS.

Preggars · 02/05/2005 09:08

So Fisil, Weezle, Logic, Claudi2 and Hollya and the nearest dates to now... Good luck ladies.

Is anyone else getting twinges. Now that I am 37+1 (that +1 is important isn't it!!) It wouldn't be considered early to have baby now. Mad huh.

Got to pull my finger out on the bag front, but waiting for payday tomorrow, then hitting the shops Wednesday.

I've washed all the Pink and Pastel gear though. I hope they got the scan info right, or a little boy will end up with an early identity crisis!!

fisil · 02/05/2005 09:11

Like he'd notice, Preggars! Ds was born during the Jan sales, and so spent some early months in the most cute little pink vests that I picked up for next to nothing. This one will wear them second hand - so hand-me-down kid as well as gender crisis. Something to tell his shrink, eh!

! Mine too, but gave the really blue stuff to friends in a nesting frenzy a few months back. Guess I'd have to ask for it all back!

I've been given soo much gear for this little lady, I couldn't believe it all when I washed it. I don't think she'll ever wear the same thing twice. There seems to have been so many little girls amongst friends, we've been spoilt with choice.

fashill · 02/05/2005 09:38

Hi all, it's getting very exciting on here!!!

My last week at work YIPPEE!!! And a nice short one at that. Got physio tom morn and MW Thurs morn, leavng do Thurs night and lunch with my boss on Friday so gonna be nice and easy I hope!

Had a baby shower/girly night in on Sat night. Was really nice and all littleuns aunties really spoiled him!! Gonna have to move house now! I know there not popular here but has/did anyone else do this?!?

Meeting up with our NCT class friends today for lunch, one couple have already popped so will be exciting to see if any of the others babies have arrived!!

I wanted to ask (as my hospital bag is half packed) do you need to take towels for mum and baby?!? i've got an old dark one for me but not sure about any others.

Has everyone washed their baby stuff already?!? Really think I need to pull my finger out. I started out so organised and now it's all getting so close

Preggars · 02/05/2005 09:57

Hi Fashill

I've only washed all the baby stuff, but still have to get my head around the bag, so we're probably about as organised! From the stats below, I see you're due 5 days after me, so now I feel I should get my self more into gear!

A few of my old work friends organised a baby shower for me. It was a lovely surprise. Bit mad opening stuff before she's arrived. Most people will probably give prezzies afterwards like last time.

logic · 02/05/2005 09:58

I am going to have to wait until I go into labour naturally now so I'm still betting on the 19th! At least it means that I can go to Heatherwood again.

Couldn't spot the gender on the portable scan that the doc did so still not 100% sure. If it is a girl, I'm still going to put her in ds' hand-me-down blue stuff at night or when no-one is around so your little ones are not alone, fisil and preggars!

The baby shower sounds lovely, fashill! I am taking a towel for me but not for baby. I won't bother to bath her in the hospital because I'm hoping not to stay that long...

Preggars · 02/05/2005 10:00

Yep, meant to add i'll probably take a towel for me and little one, but didn't use baby towel last time.

cab · 02/05/2005 10:05

Morning all - think I must be a spendthrift - have bought all new stuff for the baby. (Maybe cos I was a number 3 and hated all the hand me downs.) Everything's now washed.
Had an awful night last night with major pains in tummy, back and legs and in the middle of it all dd wasn't well. Husband of course slept through. Still bl uncomfortable this morning and very grumpy. Wouldn't call it contractions, but am certainly doing some deep breathing.

fashill · 02/05/2005 10:15

Thanks ladies

Forgotten something from our classes that DP just mentioned... How far apart do contractions start at and how far apart should they be before you go to the hospital?

DP and I look so funny, we're both in the nude, me on here and him slobbed out on the sofa channel hopping Does this have to stop once baby's here!

Can't wait to see who's going to be first!!

fashill · 02/05/2005 10:16

You need some me time cab

logic · 02/05/2005 10:50

Hope you feel better today Cab, have you got paracetamol?

Fashill, I think the contractions start differently for everyone. I think that you are supposed to phone the hospital once they are every 5 minutes.

As for the nude thing, we used to do that but not generally anymore. It's a no-kids luxury I'm afraid!

fashill · 02/05/2005 11:07

Oh well Logic, best make the most of it now!

Hope everyone feels better today and enjoys the sunshine

fisil · 02/05/2005 11:22

fashill, let me describe my morning so far to you - to make you feel better about life with kids. I was bored of lying in bed at 8, so I came upstairs to see if my little playmate was awake, but he was fast asleep. So I played on the computer until I heard him at about 9:15. Then dp & I snuggled in bed until a childless friend rang! We all had crumpets for breakfast together at about 10, and then sat around in our pjs/dressing gowns reading the papers/playing with our toys. No-one in this house is dressed yet, and probably won't be until someone's tummy drives us out to a cafe for lunch! That's a pretty cool morning, I reckon! So it is still possible post children.

Good evening everyone. Just wondering if everyone is still here... Fisil, you still with us? (of course I realise this is a stupid question if you are not here as how would you respond).

miranda2 · 02/05/2005 21:18

Hiya! Thought I'd better drop in to say hello since it is now May - I was due on April 27th but no surprise he's late as his big brother was finally dragged reluctantly out 2 weeks late!

fisil · 02/05/2005 21:22

Hi miranda2 - I'm in the same position, which is why I've camped out on this thread all along. Welcome! Going overdue is rubbish, isn't it! Feeling really fed up tonight - will be a week over when I wake up tomorrow. Poo.

Maddison · 02/05/2005 22:42

Hi everyone, have just returned from a lovely meal, DH decided that as my PILs are having DS tonight that it would be nice, aaaww bless him!

I've just thought, Weezle should have had her little one now, I've just looked on the previous thread and she said she was having a c section on Wednesday last week as her baby was breech, so I'm off to look for a birth announcement!!
